Having bolstering their attack by signing Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin last season, the Serie A giant has identified Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk the perfect man who can help them win the Champions League. Previously they also signed the young Matthijs de Ligt to replace the club legend Giorgio Chiellini.

Now that Leonardo Bonucci is also growing old, the Italian football giant wants to toughen their defence by signing the world’s current best defender. Virgil van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton for £75m in January 2018.

SunSport claims that Van Dijk who is now 28 may be open to a move abroad in the coming season after winning a bunch of trophies in Liverpool including the Champions League, Fifa Club World Cup and Uefa Super Cup.

A Juve source said: “After winning a bagful of trophies with Liverpool, Juventus think he may be ready for a new challenge at the end of the season — especially as he’s been playing in the UK for a few years.

“And the club are actively planning to make a huge bid for him in the summer.”

The Netherland’s skipper has led his country to second place in the Nations League and was also the Ballon d’Or runner-up to Lionel Messi who won it. He is also won 2018/19 UEFA Men’s Player of the Year, UCL Defender of the Season and found a spot in the UEFA’s Team Of The Year 2019.

With such honour and his excellent performance in bag, Juve needs to spend a lot to get the defender. Van Dijk is the key in Liverpool’s defence and has conceded just 15 Premier League goals in 25 games this season.

Van Dijk also last week even admitted, “I’m 28 now and I want to fulfil every dream I ever had. Life can be short. Your career can be short as well.”

“I’m enjoying playing with this team and this manager. We can’t look too far ahead. But right now, I’m enjoying it.”

It seems now that Juventus is prepared to top the massive £142m fee that Barcelona cashed out for Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho two years ago. If Juventus seals the deal for a record fee of £150M then this will be the costliest transfer for any defender in the history of football.

Barcelona’s new coach Quique Setien is known to be an idealistic coach who believes in hard work rather than luck. His way of playing and ideology has brought back the excitement of the Barca fans across the globe.

In the meantime, before today’s match against Levante, Quique was asked about Gerard Pique’s business and various investments. So, the 61-year old cleared his throat and he has spoken clearly that he doesn’t have any problems regarding them until it distracts the defender from his on-field duties.

The main centre-back of Barcelona, Pique, has grown his empire over a couple of years indulging in various businesses and investments. His company Kosmos helped transform the Davis Cup in Madrid, which he described as “the project of my life”.

Apart from that, Pique owns two football clubs – FC Andorra and Gimnàstic Manresa, he has also invested in isotonic drinks, sunglasses, esports and organic hamburgers.

When the 32-year old’s commitment has been called into question because of his wide business dealings taking him around the world even though his Barca training schedules.

“I am not the father of any of them. I am only their coach. I will worry about one of them when they do not train well,” he said in an interview with Sport. “What am I going to tell him about what he can and cannot do?

“Pique is mature and responsible for what he can do and what he can’t. I see him train well, willingly. What he does in his private life… I’m not on top of these things.”

Even though being his squad’s star player, Quique has warned that he will not be hesitated to drop any of his star players if they fail to impress in the rigorous training sessions that he is hosting during the course of the week.

“If I see that their performance drops, another will play because the one they are going to blame is me,” the former Real Betis and Las Palmas coach added. “I will play the one that best solves the games for me.”

The Blaugranas will be facing Levante at the Camp Nou today at 9 pm local time and we expect the Spaniard to be in the starting XI as this game will be crucial for Barcelona to win after Real Madrid’s yesterday’s win over Atletico Madrid.

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel substituted Kylian Mbappe in the 68th minute after he had scored a goal in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-0 win over Montpellier on Saturday.

Tuchel brought on Mauro Icardi for Mbappe. But the 21-year-old was upset by the substitution and was seen exchanging some heated words with Tuchel in the sidelines.

Thomas Tuchel said after the match: “I am the coach, someone has to decide who goes out and who comes in and it is me. He [Mbappé] is very intelligent and knows what he is doing. He does not like going out but no player likes going out and these are not good pictures but we are not the only club to have this player reaction.
I also saw it in Dortmund today, I saw it in Liverpool and Manchester City. I watch a lot of football and I have seen a lot of reactions like that.”

“It is not good because it opens a discussion and subjects which are a distraction to our state of mind, because this team shows all together with Kylian, a very professional and very focused mindset. This subject always gives a little impression that it is not the case and it is a pity.”

“I am not angry, I am sad about this situation because it is not necessary. But that’s the situation and I explained to him why we did it and it will stay like that. It will stay that way, I will always decide things sportingly and we do not play tennis, we play football and we must, therefore, have respect for everyone.”

Mbappe could also face some disciplinary actions for his outburst and Tuchel has not ruled out that possibility. He said: “I don’t know, I will decide. I have to sleep a little and think. Afterward, I will make a decision tomorrow…I will decide if I speak about this thing, if I speak individually or if I do not speak about it. It depends on whether I sleep well or not.”

Mbappe was somewhat unprofessional in his outburst. He was not only disrespecting the manager’s decision but was also disrespecting Icardi who came on for him.

PSG have to handle these delicate situations very carefully because this is Mbappe we are talking of. He is one of the best players right now. So if he is angered, he could leave the club and there aren’t any club in the world who don’t want him in their team.

Borussia Dortmund signed teenage sensation Erling Braut Haaland from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in the recently concluded winter transfer window.

The 19-year-old striker has taken the Bundesliga by storm. He has done some super-human stuff. His goal-scoring record for Dortmund has been phenomenal.

Haaland scored another brace in Dortmund’s 5-0 rout of Union Berlin. He has now scored 7 goals in 3 matches.

He scored a hat-trick in his debut match, coming on as a substitute in the 56th minute against Augsburg on 18th January. He followed that up with two more goals, again as a substitute after coming on in the 65th minute in the thumping 5-1 win over Cologne on 24th January.

Erling Braut Haaland is the first player in Bundesliga history to score seven goals in his first three appearances in the competition. Incredibly, all of his first seven shots in Bundesliga has ended as goals.

Former Borussia Dortmund center-back Neven Subotic who now plays for Union Berlin told Norwegian broadcaster Viasport: “It started here with Lucas Barrios, going forward to [Robert] Lewandowski and [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang. Now Haaland is obviously right in line with those characters.”

“As far as I can tell, he is basically a mix of Lewandowski and Aubameyang because he also has got a complete game, he has got speed, finesse, and he needs about half a chance to score one goal.”

“I’m happy for [Dortmund] but I’m not happy as an opponent, obviously, because he makes something out of nothing. So congrats to the club for sealing the deal.”

Haaland said after the match: “I think it’s a mix of hard work and good teammates around me. My teammates are so good. Then it’s getting easy for me. I am enjoying my time so far and there’s a lot more to come.
I didn’t think about [scoring] so many goals, but now it’s seven and I am enjoying it.”

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said: “You can’t imagine a better start. His job is to score goals. You can see that with every fiber of his body. He’s only 19 years old. We don’t make any comparisons. It makes no sense. Let him just play football and then he will score.”

He further added: “We have quite a few 19-year olds who are incredible. I just saw the stats. Jadon is the first player under 20-years-old to reach 25 goals in Bundesliga. That’s unbelievable. But maybe Erling will get there too.”

After the hat-trick in his debut match, it seemed as if it was a one-match wonder, but now it is turning out to be a normal thing for the teenager. Haaland definitely has something special in him. Maybe we’re looking at a future Ballon d’Or winner, but he is still a teenager and has to be handled carefully by Lucien Favre and Dortmund.

Manchester United have surprisingly signed former Watford striker Odion Ighalo

Manchester United made a very surprising deadline day signing. They were searching for a striker to strengthen the squad after the injury of Marcus Rashford.

The 20-times Premier League champions have been linked with some strange names throughout the transfer window including former Premier League striker Islam Slimani and Bournemouth’s Josh King.

Now, they have finally finished their search for a striker with the move for 30-year old Ighalo. The former Watford striker was playing for the Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua since February 2019.

During his time at Watford between 2015 and 2017, Ighalo netted 17 goals in 55 appearances in the Premier League. He will now make a return to the Premier League with a loan deal until the end of this season.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer commented on the Nigerian striker: “Odion is an experienced player. He will come in and give us an option of a different type of center-forward for the short spell he’s staying with us. A great lad and very professional, he will make the most of his time here.”

Barcelona have signed Palmeiras midfielder Matheus Fernandes Siqueira

LaLiga club Barcelona have made another deadline day signing. They have now reached an agreement with Palmeiras for the signing of Matheus Fernandes Siqueira.

The 21-year-old midfielder will join the club in July 2020 for a fee of €7m plus €3m in add-ons. He will sign a five-year contract with Barcelona and will have a release clause of €300m.

Barcelona confirmed the transfer by releasing an official statement: “FC Barcelona and Palmeiras have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Matheus Fernandes Siqueira and he will join the Club on 1 July 2020. “

“The transfer fee will be 7 million euros plus 3 million in add on and the player will sign a five-year contract that will take him up to the end of the 2024/25 season and his buy out clause is set at 300 million euros. “

Fernandes had already pretty much confirmed the deal on social media earlier in the day with a lengthy goodbye message and a change to his bio.

Originally announced in CES 2020, Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 featuring Intel Comet Lake CPUs brought everyone to surprise that why Lenovo is using the 14nm process instead of the newer and more efficient 10nm Ice Lake CPUs.

The major reason for this was there’s a significant difference between a consumer laptop and a business laptop which requires more security and manageability features, much needed for corporate work.

Intel vPro CPUs are very important for such uses and it’s very disappointing that even though a year of the original announcement of the Intel Ice Lake CPUs have passed but the new Ice Lake CPUs do not support such features which the Comet Lake CPUs does.

The product page of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 says that you can opt up to up to 10th Generation Intel Core i7-10810U with vPro. This 14 nm processor has similar specs to the existing Intel Core i7-10710U featuring six CPU cores and the same clock speeds of up to 4.70 GHz with 12MB and 15 W TDP.

This is a thin and lightweight laptop with up to 18+ hours of battery life along with best-in-class connectivity, and rapid charging technology. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 packs up to 4K Dolby Vision panels along with a new 500 nit FHD PrivacyGuard AG display with PrivacyAlert.

The laptop is MIL-SPEC tested and also support Dolby Atmos audio, it is paired with LPDDR3 8 GB / 16 GB RAM and up to 2 TB PCIe SSD. The keyboard remains the same as last gen, now comes equipped with VoIP call buttons, rest all of the design also is conserved compared to 2019 models.

The availability of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 with Core i7-10810U is unknown as for now but being uploaded on the product page we can expect to be start shipping soon. The updated Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 has a starting price of $1,499 (around Rs.1,07,600).

In the coming days, we can expect more business laptops featuring this CPU but its sad to see even though 10nm has been introduced for a year now we have to wait until 2021 to see 10nm based vPro CPUs.

Another Super Over, another win for Team India gives a 4-0 lead

In the 4th T20 International,India once again beat New Zealand in Super Over after a second successive tie at Westpac Stadium, Wellington on Friday.

Chasing 166, New Zealand were coasting at one stage before the hosts committed blunder mistake to be restricted to 165 for 7. Needing 7 runs of Shardul Thakur’s last over, New Zealand buckled under pressure and lost four wickets as India took the match into the Super Over for the second consecutive game.

In the Super Over, New Zealand made just 13 runs, a target which the Indians overwhelmed with one ball to spare.

India had earlier defeated New Zealand in the Super Over in the third T20 in Hamilton. The visitors now lead the five-match series 4-0. Earlier, sent in to bat, India posted 165 for 8, riding on Manish Pandey’s 36-ball 50. For New Zealand, Ish Sodhi (3/26) took three wickets, Hamish Bennett (2/41) picked two wickets, while Tim Southee (1/28), Scott Kuggeleijn (1/39) and Mitchell Santner (1/26).

The fifth and final T20 will be played on Sunday at Mount Maunganui.

Microsoft Surface Go 2 with m3-8100Y & LTE appears on 3DMark listings

Another Surface product has been leaked recently and it is the Microsoft Surface Go 2 which seems interesting as the original Surface Go was launched back in July 2018. It does need a refresh as because the Windows-based tablet was received well in the market.

The Surface Go was a well built Windows device powered by the Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y and was offered at a comparatively lower price. Even though the processor was capable of the everyday tasks, this dual-core SoC is now quite old and needs a refresh.

New listings of the alleged Surface Go 2 have been spotted on 3DMark and the two devices have been spotted by _rogame. Previously also the tipster gave us a 3DMark listing of the Surface Book 3, and now we have another Microsoft device.

Both of the listings seemingly to use the “OEMRX OEMRX Product Name EV2” motherboard and can be the successor to the “OEMRX OEMRX Product Name EV1” which emerged last year as a possible Core m3-8100Y refresh of the original Surface Go. 

Talking about the Intel Core m3-8100Y, it is a dual-core CPU launched back in August 2018. It has a base clock speed of 1.10 GHz and a boost clock up to 3.40 GHz, and the Core m3-8100Y has double the volume of L3 cache. The iGPU is same on both the Pentium Gold 4415Y and Core m3-8100Y but the latter scores better in GPU benchmarks.

Overall, the Intel Core m3-8100Y will be a significant upgrade over last-gen and will be ideal for daily basic tasks and browsing. Among the two 3DMark listings reported with OEMRX EV2 motherboards, one appears to be an LTE capable device and the other one might be only the WiFi variant.

Even though a Core m3-8100Y-powered OEMRX EV1 Microsoft Surface Go 2 never made the market but it might be possible that an OEMRX EV2 motherboard paired with Intel Core m3-8100Y might arrive along with the alleged Surface Book 3 in 2020.

AMD to introduce next-gen RDNA based Navi GPUs in 2020

AMD started the GPU business in 2020 with a mess actually after the launch of Radeon RX 5600 XT. The last-minute price cut by NVIDIA forced the Red team to push a BIOS update to increase the performances, when most of the GPUs were already shipped by the board partners.

However, the company eyes to launch the next-gen RDNA based Navi GPUs in 2020 as NVIDIA too are going to introduce their Ampere GPUs soon in 2020.

“In 2019, we launched our new architecture in GPUs, it’s the RDNA architecture, and that was the Navi-based products. You should expect those will be refreshed in 2020 and we’ll have our next-generation RDNA architecture that will be part of our 2020 lineup”

AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT with new vBIOS update brings up to 11% better performance

If you are confused on the ‘Navi-refresh’ term then all we can that we won’t see refreshed versions of RX 5500, RX 5600, and RX 5700 cards. Su clearly said of adding new cards to the existing lineup, which will eventually be based out of AMD’s next-gen RDNA architecture.

Not much is known about the next-gen RDNA architecture but we can guess it is the same architecture that the upcoming PS5 and Xbox consoles will be featuring. It is also said the next-gen RDNA might have Ray Tracing support as well.

Even though Su has not clearly stated anything about these cards and the architecture but we expect AMD would share more details at its Investor Day on March 5. Recent leaks of Big Navi GPUs also gives hints of AMD’s upcoming launch and the race against NVIDIA’s top tier RTX 2080 GPUs.
