Oppo 40W ‘AirVOOC’ Wireless charger got Certified and Images surfaced

0

The AirVOOC wireless 40W charger from Oppo got certified yesterday and today te got to see the live image of the gadget. The certification indicates the launch of the device pretty soon and we also know that Oppo is going to hold a launch event on April 13 where it is going to launch the Oppo Reno Ace 2. Surprisingly enough this time the device supports wireless charging of up to 40W, so it may happen that Oppo is already planning to launch this AirVOOC wireless charger in that event alongside Reno Ace 2.

Certification of Oppo AirVOOC

The above image shows the certification of Oppo AirVOOC. The mockup image and the image that surfaced today are quite similar. There is a large ventilation area at the bottom of the charger, this means that there is a huge fan that is going to cool the device. While charging at such wattage the charger is going to heat up a lot so the company has put such ventilation to get rid of the unwanted hat generated during charging.

At the top there is a button and the phone space where you van put the phone and the button acts as a power button. The Oppo Reno Ace 2 is getting a 65W Super VOOC 2.0 charger in the box and this wireless charger will be sold separately as the device will support 40W wireless charging.

192MP Camera Smartphone with Snapdragon 735 coming soon

0

Digital Chat Station, a leakster has posted in his Weibo account that the phone is coming with a 192MP camera sensor with Snapdragon 735 (SM7250). The leakster also said to check on his post after a month for more details about this device. He also adds “Spoiler, it’s not the machine you expect[Yun Bei]” which means the story is different from what we are expecting.

Samsung is already on a 150MP camera sensor and Xiaomi on a 144MP sensor, according to several reports. Both the companies have come together in the production of the 108MP sensor and Xiaomi was the first brand to use it in their smartphone. Samsung’s 150MP sensor is a large 1″ sensor which will provide more clarity than the Galaxy S20 Plus’s camera. According to reports the 150MP sensor of Samsung is also heading to Oppo and Vivo phones (in 2021) other than Xiaomi.

The World's First 192MP Smartphone Camera Could Arrive Next ...

The SM7250 or Snapdragon 735 is a 7nm chip which will have a big Cortex-A76-based Kryo core at 2.36 GHz and another one at 2.32 GHz. The rest of the CPU is a six-core cluster of Cortex-A55 units, all running at 1.73 GHz. The GPU will be Adreno 620. This detail is shared by Shudhanshu another leakster in his Twitter account.

The Snapdragon 735 will be a mid-range chip that will be used in premium mid-range smartphones. The chipset’s ISP is powerful enough that it can support 192MP cameras by itself, no external chips are needed so we can expect that a mid-range chip can support such a huge 192MP sensor and this can be made available in mass.

First photo Shot on Microsoft Surface Duo shared by Microsoft’s Executive

0

Microsoft announced the Surface Duo last year in the Microsoft Surface event. The Surface Duo is the miniature version of the Surface Neo which was also announced last year in the Surface event alongside Duo, and Duo is the smartphone version and Microsoft’s vision of how a dual-screen device should be.

Microsoft Surface Duo is dual screen smartphone with 5.6-inches display sizes. It has only one camera which is inside the device or can be called the selfie camera and there is no rear camera or on the outer side of the device. The device supports the Surface Pen and the company confirmed that Duo will run a Microsoft-skinned version of Android. This is all the specs we know so far for the dual screen device as Microsoft has not has not declared most of its specs yet.

Today, Panos Panay, Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer posted an image of him in his official Instagram handle showing his “Work From Home” routine and also said that it was shot by his son, Costas. Now coming to the main thing, we have seen in the promo video of Microsoft Surface Duo that the device has no external/rear camera so it is safe to guess that the image is shot from the internal/front camera.

The image quality of Duo is not at all bad, even though we know that Instagram has done manipulation with the original image, which is more likely to be some more detailed. The exposure of the image is very appreciable, even though it is shot indoor, it has decent colors and dynamic range. Till now we can’t decide exactly how good or bad it is, as Microsoft has already promised us to give a “world-class camera”.

Microsoft planned to launch the Surface duo on 2020, but few days back we got some news that the company will be launching the device ahead of pre-mentioned launch date and will pack in 2019 features. But we can see that that was a mere rumor, the company hase;nt launched the device yet and has not mentioned any official launch date amid COVID-19.

The chip that Samsung is planning to make will show a new path to smartphone technology worldwide. The 3nm chip is likely to have around 50 billion transistors and is likely to be 35% more efficient than current 7nm chips present in a few flagship devices.

Samsung has been planning to start the production of its 3nm chip in 2021, but due to this pandemic the company is bounded to shut their stores as well as all smartphone productions, and now they are also stopping the chip production and has stopped any kind of deals with it by keeping it in halt. Samsung is competing with Taiwan’s TSMC in the production and selling of the 3nm chip, but due to the current situation the Korean tech giant has pushed the mass production by 2022, and now it is to be seen that who comes up with the 3nm chip first. LG’s Launching Replacement of rumored “G” series on April 15

0

According to reports, LG is going to unveil the replacement of the “G” series. Few reports even confirm that LG held a product briefing for the three Korean telecoms where it spilled the details on the launch date and the launch is likely to take place on April 15. The reports claim that the South Korean giant has not revealed the exact names of the series and its devices as well. There are several rumors spreading now that the tech giant is going to replace the whole “G” series with this new series.

LG could present a new series on May 15 to replace its G lineup

According to South Korean news outlet Naver News, the new series by LG may feature a Snapdragon 7-series chipset. Other features that are tipped in the unnamed series are dual-screen support, 5G connectivity, quad rear camera setup with 48-megapixel primary camera, and 4,000mAh battery. If rumors about the 5G support are true, it is safe to assume that LG will pack Snapdragon 765 or 765G chipsets since they are the only 7-series chips from Qualcomm to feature a 5G modem.

Though we have not been confirmed about the chipset till now, everything is unclear right now. In order to replace the G series, LG needs to recreate another smartphone with dual-screen and this time with the flagship chipset available to get the 5G connectivity on the other hand. Only Snapdragon 865 SoC has the capability to support 5G at this point and if we see the previous G series specially the dual-screen G8x ThinQ it was featuring the top of the line Snapdragon 855.

So, this time we can hope for the best as the company is thinking to replace the whole series there might be few mid-range and flagships as well. LG’s new phone series will reportedly come with a price tag in the KRW 900,000 ($720-€670) range. LG is going to take another turn in its smartphone marketing strategy and let’s see whether it is going to hit the bull’s eye or not.

it is assumed that the three models will come with HiSilicon chipsets, with either two between them (the Kirin 985 and Kirin 990 5G), or, more likely, three – the Kirin 820, 985, and 990 5G. Price cut of €40 on Xiaomi Mi 10 5G before Official Launch

0

The Xiaomi Mi 10 5G series was launched in China back in February and we saw that it was launched in Europe as Mi 10 in an online event at the end of March. The pricing of all the three devices in the Mi 10 series was a bit odd.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro camera review - DXOMARK

The Mi 10 model was made official at €799 which is not even close to the actual launch price of China i.e. CNY 3,999 (€520 approx). This pricing was higher than what we have expected, again, this might happen due to the import tax applied to some mobile phones in different countries.

Gearbest is an online e-commerce website, and it is offering a €40 discount on the listing price with discount code GBMI10EU. The website listed the device at €699 and now by applying the discount code the price goes down to €659. This new offer is valid for buyers from Spain, France, Italy and Germany with shipping expected to start on April 10. For the rest of the world there is a €56 discount using discount code GBMI10SALE, which means people from rest of the world can get the device at only $699 (€643) using the discount code.

Those who are and will be reserving their Mi 10 will also be able to get a pair of Xiaomi’s new AirDots Pro 2 TWS earphones for just €9.20/$9.99, which is down from the €98/$106 usual prices.

Xiaomi to come up with a 144MP smartphone

0

Xiaomi was one of the smartphone brands to come up with a 48MP sensor in their smartphones i.e. on Redmi Note 7, then 64MP in their Redmi Note 8 Pro then it was also one of the first brands to feature a 108MP sensor in Mi CC9 Pro/ Mi Note 10. Samsung also launched the 108MP sensor in its Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. The 108MP sensor was combinedly made by Samsung and Xiaomi and is said to be one of the most powerful camera sensors so far used in a smartphone.

Samsung Introduces Industry's First 108Mp Image Sensor for Smartphones

Now a day back we saw one of the renowned leakster revealed that Xiaomi is working on a smartphone which is going to feature a 144MP sensor. According to him, it might be the Mi 10S Pro or the Mi CC10 Pro, as previously Xiaomi has embedded the 108MP sensor in the Mi CC9 Pro which was later on renamed as Mi Note 10 in the international market.

Previously we have seen that in order to gain more megapixels both Samsung and Xiaomi came together to make the 108MP possible in the present market. Now, we are assuming that Samsung might work with Xiaomi again as it is the only known duo which can come up with insane technologies and can make them a reality for the commoners.

Right now we only know that Xiaomi is working on the sensor and it is also impossible to guess exactly on what device the brand is going to embed the sensor in the future. But let us go with the previous logic that as Mi CC 9 Pro was the bearer of the 108MP we can slightly expect the next device to hold the 144MP will be Mi CC10 Pro.

This increased tax rate on smartphones will pose a serious danger in the economy of the country which is already is affected and getting the revenue by imposing more taxes on smartphones will affect the whole industry and all those attached to it.

Apart from Realme, Xiaomi, and Oppo Apple and Samsung are also rumored to increase the smartphone prices by 5% to balance the effects of the new GST rate. Surely, the new increased GST rate will pose a negative impact on buyers and will make devices even more costly which in fact brings a huge impact on the fast-paced digital revolution in India.

OnePlus 8 devices will feature Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.0

0

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed some exciting specs about the upcoming OnePlus 8 series. He also said that OnePlus is focused on creating a “fast and smooth” user experience since day one, in OnePlus forum post that talks about the improvements that the company’s R&D team built for the upcoming OnePlus 8 series.

Apart from all these, the company has also revealed its 120Hz display and the 5G connectivity in the month of January. Previously we have also seen the device on the brand ambassador Robert Downey Jr.’s hand.

WhatsApp is now allowing only 15 Seconds of Video as Story in India

0

Several entertainment companies like Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, Facebook, Apple TV+, YouTube are taking measures to limit the usage of bandwidths due to the lockdown situation in most of the countries because of Coronavirus pandemic. Users are suggested to stay at home from the government in order to limit the spread of COVID-19, thus users are taking the “Work From Home” initiative.

This initiative results in higher internet usage and several companies have taken several measures to give equal priority to everyone in this time of the pandemic, and most of the bandwidth is now used by health sectors for the treatment of COVID-19 affected patients.

WhatsApp is rolling out the latest update where they have fixed some minor bugs and have enhanced the Dark Theme mode. In the latest beta (v2.20.107) and the stable (v2.20.89) builds of WhatsApp on Android we can now confirm that users can no longer share videos of over 15 seconds on their WhatsApp Story Status.

Here WhatsApp mentions that any video sent to the Story will be trimmed to the first 15 seconds. But this is not totally true, here you can choose any 15-second portion from the whole video. 15 seconds will be the maximum time limit allowed for a video to be shared.

This story is available only for 24 hours and automatically gets deleted after that time period. WhatsApp has only introduced this 15 seconds story timing only in India till now to cope up with the internet usage among the millenniums.

This comparison table is taken from Gadgets 360 and has been edited in few parts for more detailed understanding of the table and few missing informations has been added as well.

Display:

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and POCO X2 has 6.67-inches screen and supports the full-HD+ display of 1080×2400 pixels. Here the resolution of both the devices is the same but what makes them a totally different thing is their display refresh rates. The Redmi device has a 60Hz refresh rate whereas POCO comes with a butter-like 120Hz refresh rate. Now the Realme 6 Pro comes with a 6.60-inches full-HD+ display with 1080×2400 pixels resolution and an Ultra Smooth 90Hz display refresh rate. Here the POCO X2 becomes a clear winner in terms of display size as well as refresh rate.

Rear Camera:

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a quad rear camera setup that houses a 64MP primary sensor along with an f/1.89 lens and an 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle 119-degree field-of-view (FoV) f/2.2 lens. The camera setup also has a 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor.

Poco X2 has a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.89 lens, an 8MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens that has a field-of-view (FoV) of 120 degrees, 2MP tertiary sensors with an f/2.4 macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Realme 6 Pro has a quad rear camera setup with a 64MP Samsung GW1 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooters with an f/2.3 aperture, a 12MP telephoto shooter with an f/2.5 aperture, and a 2MP macro shooter with an f/2.4 aperture.

Here, all the devices come with a 64MP primary sensor among all four, whereas, the POCO and Realme have dedicated Sony and Samsung’s sensors respectively. Here if you look closely both the POCO and Realme come closely, but Realme wins because of the 12MP telephoto lens it has. The telephoto lens is more useful than a dedicated depth sensor in daily life.

Front Camera:

Redmi Note 9 Pro has a single, 32MP selfie camera at the front.

Poco X2 and the Realme 6 Pro that both have dual selfie cameras. The selfie camera setup of the Poco X2 has a 20MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.

Realme 6 Pro has a 16MP Sony IMX471 primary sensor with an f/2.0 lens and an 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 lens that has a field-of-view (FoV) of 105 degrees.

Again here, Realme 6 Pro has the best front cameras among all the three devices, because of the Sony IMX471 sensor.

Processor and Storage:

Both Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Realme 6 Pro has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, along with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Whereas, the Poco X2 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC, with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Here the Snapdragon 720G slightly out-performs the Snapdragon 730G. If only the processors are the main issue we recommend that both the processors will perform more or less the same in daily usage.

Redmi Note 9 Pro has 64GB and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage that both are expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) through a dedicated slot. Whereas, the Realme 6 Pro has everything the same as Note 9 Pro Max but can be expanded up to 256GB instead of 512GB. The Poco X2, on the other hand, has up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage that supports expansion via a hybrid microSD card slot.

Updated: New Winner] Chip Battle: Snapdragon 730G vs Snapdragon ...

Battery and Charging:

Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 5,020mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The Poco X2, on the other hand, has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging. The Realme 6 Pro packs a 4,300mAh battery with 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 support. So looking at the battery specs our suggestion is to go for Redmi or POCO because Realme tends to drain the battery very fast even after 6 months of usage.

Pricing:

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max price in India is set at Rs.14,999 for the 6GB + 64GB storage option, while its 6GB + 128GB storage variant carries a price tag of Rs.16,999 and the 8GB + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs.18,999.

Poco X2 price is set at Rs.15,999 for the 6GB + 64GB variant, while its 6GB + 128GB option is available at Rs.16,999 and the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs.19,999.

Realme 6 Pro price in the country is set at Rs.16,999 for the 6GB + 64GB variant, whereas its 6GB + 128GB option is priced at Rs.17,999 and the 8GB + 128GB model is available at Rs.18,999.

Looking at the prices, all the base variants of the devices have an Rs.1000 increment from Redmi to Realme, where Redmi being the cheapest and Realme the highest. As there is not much of a price difference we will suggest you, go for POCO considering the price. If only you are tight on budget then also we will suggest you to spend Rs.16,000 and get the base variant of POCO X2 because it is an all in one package having a considerable price.

The exact dealing amount is not outlined but it is said to be a multi-billion dollar deal. The report also added that aside from the social media giant Facebook, Reliance Jio was also in separate talks with Google.

Facebook and Reliance Jio had been in talks which only halted recently owing to global travel bans because of the coronavirus outbreak, according to two people familiar with the matter. According to a report published in November, Jio’s valuation is somewhere between $65-70 billion (or approximately between Rs.49,43,41.25 crore and Rs 5,32367.50 crore), so a 10% stake would be somewhere between $6.5 — 7 billion (or approximately between Rs 49,434 crore and Rs 53,236 crore).

Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio has been in operation for only about four years but has overtaken other telecom operators such as Airtel and Vodafone-Idea in the number of subscribers it has. Top 10 highest paid football players in 2020

0
neymar messi ronaldo

In today’s world, the amount of money football players get is quite a large amount. The clubs have very wealthy owners who invest a large sum of money to see their club get all the success.

In order to make their club successful, they bring in all the top players of the game. The top players come with a hefty price tag and along with that a large salary.

The players not only earn from the salaries given by their clubs but also command a very large sum of money from the advertisements and bonuses.

France Football has released the top 10 football players who earn the highest amount of money. Let’s have a look:

mbappe

10. Kylian Mbappe – €27m

The 2018 World Cup winner is the youngest player to be on this list. He is just 21-years-old but has won everything in France’s domestic football and most importantly the World Cup. There’s a long way to go for this young French international and probably he will rule the football world after Ronaldo and Messi.

9. Robert Lewandowski – €29m

The Bayern Munich stalwart is one of the best No. 9 of the game. He is deadly in the opponent’s penalty box. He is the only player from the Bundesliga on this list.

8. Raheem Sterling – €33m

Sterling is one of the main attacking players for Manchester City. City had great success in the last couple of seasons and Sterling is one of the reasons for their success. The Englishman is the only player from the Premier League on this list.

7. Andres Iniesta – €34m

The 2010 World Cup winner, who scored the solitary goal in the final is still the seventh highest-paid player in the world. The 35-year-old former Barcelona man currently plays in Japan for Vissel Kobe.

hazard

6. Eden Hazard – €38m

Hazard moved to Real Madrid this season to bring the old Galactico status back in Madrid. Following the departure of Ronaldo, he is expected to lead the Real Madrid attack but his injuries haven’t allowed him to do so till now.

5. Antoine Griezmann – €38m

Barcelona bought Griezmann to partner Messi and Suarez in the attack. He had a huge pay-rise following the move. But he hasn’t quite found his feet in the Camp Nou yet.

4. Gareth Bale – €38m

Bale has gone way below Zidane’s pecking order in Real Madrid but still, he is the highest earner in Real Madrid. The fourth highest-paid player in the world has scored only 3 goals in 18 matches for Real Madrid this season.

3. Neymar – €95m

The PSG superstar hasn’t yet delivered them the Champions League but he commands a massive salary. There’s a massive €57m gap from Bale in 4th position to Neymar in 3rd.

ronaldo

2. Cristiano Ronaldo – €118m

One of the best players of this generation definitely deserves a top 3 place on this list. The 5 time Ballon d’Or winner has moved to Juventus in 2018 after 9 very successful seasons in Real Madrid. Even at the age of 35 Ronaldo earns over €100m per-year. So, you can guess what an invaluable talent he is!

1. Lionel Messi – €131m

Everyone could have guessed who’s the No. 1 on this list. The little magician has won everything for Barcelona. The 6 time Ballon d’Or winner is regarded as the best by many. So, the best player also deserves the highest salary.

Tokyo Olympics 2020 has been postponed to 2021 due to Coronavirus pandemic

0
tokyo olympics

The whole world is in lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak. All the major sporting events in the world have been postponed. UEFA has postponed the Euro 2020 to 2021. COMNEBOL has also followed the same path and moved the Copa America to 2021.

The Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 was scheduled to take place from 24th July to 9th August. But due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Olympic games have been moved back by a year. The Olympics will now be held in 2021.

Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach held a conference call this morning. They were joined by Mori Yoshiro, the President of the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee; the Olympic Minister, Hashimoto Seiko; the Governor of Tokyo, Koike Yuriko; the Chair of the IOC Coordination Commission, John Coates; IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper; and the IOC Olympic Games Executive Director, Christophe Dubi.

After the conference call, it was officially announced that the Tokyo Olympics have been moved to 2021. The official statement read: “The unprecedented and unpredictable spread of the outbreak has seen the situation in the rest of the world deteriorating. Yesterday, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that the COVID-19 pandemic is “accelerating”. There are more than 375,000 cases now recorded worldwide and in nearly every country, and their number is growing by the hour.”

“In the present circumstances and based on the information provided by the WHO today, the IOC President and the Prime Minister of Japan have concluded that the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community.”

“The leaders agreed that the Olympic Games in Tokyo could stand as a beacon of hope to the world during these troubled times and that the Olympic flame could become the light at the end of the tunnel in which the world finds itself at present. Therefore, it was agreed that the Olympic flame will stay in Japan. It was also agreed that the Games will keep the name Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.”

The Olympic games have never been delayed in its 124-year modern history, though it was cancelled altogether in 1916, 1940 and 1944 during the two world wars. Cold War boycotts disrupted the Moscow and Los Angeles Games in 1980 and 1984.

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) secretary-general Rajeev Mehta said after the postponement: “This decision today, relieves our athletes of worries of having to train now during an epidemic and perform their best in four months from now.”

Let’s hope the Coronavirus pandemic is cured quickly all over the world and we can fast forward to 2021 where we will have many big international tournaments. Until then, stay safe.

Several countries are imposing Work from Home due to the worldwide outbreak of Coronavirus. Due to this worldwide outbreak, everyone who is working from home or just staying at the home for the self-quarantine purpose is using the internet at a massive rate than usual. This has caused Europe’s Internet infrastructure buckling.

For this specific reason, EU industry chief Thierry Breton has urged streaming platforms to free up bandwidth for healthcare and distance learning for thousands of children sent home by closing schools. To this request, several companies like Netflix, Amazon Prime Videos, Facebook, Disney+, YouTube, etc. have responded. Among which Facebook and Disney+ are the latest.

Companies decreasing Bandwidths:

  • Facebook
  • YouTube
  • Netflix
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Disney+
  • Apple TV+

YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prive Videos, Apple TV+ have already decreased their video streaming quality in Europe a few days back. Recently Facebook, as well as Instagram, has also decreased the bandwidth as both are operated by the same social media giant.

Image result for netflic facebook watch amazon prime videos

Disney is taking measures too by delaying the launch of its new service in France (at the request of the French government). Disney+ will launch in the UK and other markets on schedule (tomorrow, March 24), but will start off with lower video quality. Bandwidth usage will be decreased by “at least 25%” for all new European markets (which also includes Ireland, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, and Switzerland).

These measures will last as long as there is worry about there’s worry about overloading the infrastructure.

EURO 2020 has been officially postponed

The COVID-19 virus outbreak has been declared a pandemic by WHO. It has caused the lives of people to come to a standstill and accounts for many deaths worldwide. All aspects of the world have been affected by the Coronavirus. All football matches have been suspended till April.

UEFA have now officially announced that they have postponed the EURO 2020 by 12 months. The European Championship will now take place in 2021.

It is a very disheartening news for all the football fans that there will be no EURO in the summer but it was also a necessary action. It would now give all the European Leagues enough time to finish their season, which have been suspended due to COVID-19.

The EURO 2020 play-off matches and international friendlies, scheduled for the end of March, will now be played in the international window at the start of June.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said while announcing the decisions: “The health of fans, staff and players has to be our number one priority and, in that spirit, UEFA tabled a range of options so that competitions can finish this season safely and I am proud of the response of my colleagues across European football. There was a real spirit of cooperation, with everyone recognising that they had to sacrifice something in order to achieve the best result.”

“It was important that, as the governing body of European football, UEFA led the process and made the biggest sacrifice. Moving EURO 2020 comes at a huge cost for UEFA but we will do our best to ensure that the vital funding for grassroots, women’s football and the development of the game in our 55 countries is not affected. Purpose over profit has been our guiding principle in taking this decision for the good of European football as a whole.”

“I would like to thank the European Club Association, the European Leagues and FIFPro Europe for their great work today and for their cooperation. I would also like to thank from the bottom of my heart the 55 national associations, their presidents and general secretaries, and my colleagues from the Executive Committee for their support and wise decisions. The fine detail will be worked out in the coming weeks but the basic principles have been agreed and that is a major step forward. We have all shown that we are responsible leaders. We have demonstrated solidarity and unity. Purpose over profit. We’ve achieved this today.

“I would also like to thank Alejandro Domínguez and CONMEBOL, who have agreed to move CONMEBOL’s 2020 Copa America in order to follow the recommendations issued by the international public health organisations to enact extreme measures and as a result of EURO 2020 being postponed. This means that clubs and leagues in Europe will have as little disruption as possible in the availability of their players. These joint efforts and especially this coordinated and responsible decision, are deeply appreciated by the whole European football community.

“I would like to thank FIFA and its President, Gianni Infantino, who has indicated it will do whatever is required to make this new calendar work. In the face of this crisis, football has shown its best side with openness, solidarity and tolerance.”

EURO 2020 was scheduled to take place in 12 cities across Europe from 12th June to 12th July 2020. The proposed new dates are from 11th June to 11th July 2021.

The European Championship has been postponed so UEFA will now work on finalising new dates for the Champions League and Europa League finals.

Copa America was scheduled to take place from 12th June to 12th July 2020. Colombia and Argentina were the host nations. But due to the worldwide outbreak of COVID-19, football has been heavily affected.

CONMEBOL have now officially announced that they have postponed Copa America to 2021. Argentina and Colombia will hold the next year.

Copa America was scheduled to take place for the first time in two countries rather than one. It featured 12 teams for this edition, including invitees Australia and Qatar.

CONMEBOL said: “It’s an extraordinary measure due to an unexpected situation, and therefore responds to the fundamental need to avoid an exponential evolution of the virus.”

“We also thank UEFA and its president Aleksander Ceferin for working together and the co-ordinated decision to also postpone the 2020 Euros for the betterment of the whole football family.”
