Airtel witnesses highest-ever revenue gain in Q3 2020

0

India’s second-largest telecom operator, Bharati Airtel Ltd. declares its highest-ever quarterly gained revenue this Tuesday. This high revenue during the Q3 of this year is driven by huge traffics and a hike in regular data usage for remote working and all.

The earlier Indian telecom operators were disrupted a few years ago when Reliance Jio entered into this field. Later, last year all the service providers increase their charges as they were ordered to pay ₹92,000 crores to the government.

This helps Airtel to collect ₹25,785 crores, a 22% rise from the earlier year profit of Rs.21,131 crores. Per-user Airtel got ₹162 during the Q3 instead of ₹128. Besides, 4G data users rose to become 152.7 million.

The telecom operator, in a stock exchange filing, said, “Total minutes of usage on the network during the quarter were 952 billion, representing a growth of 20.5% as compared to 790 billion in the corresponding quarter last year. Mobile data traffic grew 58.8% to 7,949 billion MBs during the quarter as compared to 5,005 billion MBs in the corresponding quarter last year,”

In the case of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues, Bharati Airtel said that it already cleared over 10% of the total due amount as demanded by the Telecom Department and also ensures to obey the Supreme Court’s order.

Dayot Upamecano will be one of the top targets of Manchester United next summer

Manchester United was linked with Dayot Upamecano in the last summer transfer window. But they failed to sign the French defender. Dayot Upamecano has also signed a new contract with RB Leipzig which will make him stay in Germany till 2023.

But Manchester United is ready to splash some cash to sign the highly rated and highly talented young French defender Dayot Upamecano. Manchester United faced some problems defensively last season. They have conceded some goals for their own foolish mistakes last season. To make their defence better, they have signed Alex Telles from Porto this summer.

But there was no reinforcement in the centre-back position. Chris Smalling has left the club in the summer and joined AS Roma in a permanent deal. The poor form of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, injury problem of Eric Baily, and Axel Tuanzebe is causing Manchester United multiple problems. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will surely go for a new defender next summer. Dayot Upamecano is his top priority.

Manchester United will face Dayot Upamecano tonight in their UEFA Champions League tie against RB Leipzig. In the pre-match press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about the young defender. Ole said, “There’s always rumours and speculation about good players and Man United,” he said at his pre-match press conference.”

“I have always tried to respect that they are players for other teams. I don’t want to comment on every player that we’re linked to, but seeing as he’s playing against us tomorrow, I know he’s a very good player. We can see him up close tomorrow.”- he added.

Upamecano will be excellent addition in the Manchester United squad at just around £40m. But United’s transfer policy has been strange off late so it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga goes.

Liverpool’s fairy tale ends with injury nightmare

0

Liverpool’s dream run of winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Premier League title one after the other has been brought to a horrific end.

It all started when Virgil Van Dijk was brutally tackled by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the Merseyside derby held last week. An ACL injury has seemingly ended the Dutch centre back’s season, and Liverpool will have to do without their best player as they defend their Premier League title for the first time ever.

3655 Liverpool's fairy tale ends with injury nightmare

Jurgen Klopp managed to temporarily fill the void left by Van Dijk in the heart of defence by playing Fabinho as a makeshift centre-back. However, following Liverpool’s Champions League victory over Midtjylland, the Brazilian has been put on the sidelines as he has sustained an injury as well.

“It was a tough night. It’s a bit like in a marriage, there are good and bad times,” he told BT Sport.

“It’s not a bad time but it’s a tricky time. 100% we have to stick together and fight harder and that’s what the boys did tonight.”

“Losing Fabinho in the first half, Rhys Williams he’s only 19-years old and I think he’s played more Champions League games than Premier League games – that’s rare. We’re doing really well but its a shock for a team because now we have to sort that injury.”

1352968 Liverpool's fairy tale ends with injury nightmare

“We had to make the change at half time with Jordan Henderson – he said I’m fine but in these moments you have to be responsible and the plan before the game was to give him around 45 minutes so he would be okay for West Ham. It was a hard game to play. But winning 2-0 is completely fine so that’s it – let’s carry on.”

Speaking about the injury to Fabinho, Klopp added: “Exactly the last thing we needed. I don’t know, he felt his hamstring so that’s not good. He didn’t feel it that much he said he could’ve played on but not sprinting so that doesn’t help. We will see, we will have to do a scan and see but clearly it’s not good.”

Liverpool have options in midfield, and have Joe Gomez as the only fit centre back. Klopp could either push Henderson deep or could start 19-year-old Rhys Williams in defense.

Bartomeu confirms Barcelona participation in European Premier League as he resigns

0

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu announced his resignation with a very long speech that addressed a lot of the questions that were being asked of the administration.

However, one of the topics that the ex-president talked about was the proposed European Premier League. In his last act as President of the Catalonian club, Bartomeu confirmed that Barcelona had consented to participate in a tournament of such stature.

His explanation for agreeing to be a founding member of the tournament that has been labelled as the end of football is the fact that the tournament would help Barcelona with the finances.

The club have been under serious financial pressure as of recently. So much so that there were rumours that the players would have to take a pay cut for the club to be able to continue operating.

Hence, it is easy to see why a leader of the stature and having the responsibility that Bartomeu had, would choose the welfare of the club above anything else. However, his point of view is one that few will truly understand and fewer who will agree with.

The European Premier League is a tournament that has reportedly had the approval of FIFA. It was first put forth by the authorities at Liverpool and Manchester United after “Project Big Picture” collapsed.

infantino Bartomeu confirms Barcelona participation in European Premier League as he resigns

However, FIFA president Gianni Infantino brushed away any talks about the possibility of the Champions League being replaced by a league type tournament among Europe’s richest teams.

One of the parts that make the European Premier League seem ridiculous is the fact that it appears to be a sorry attempt at bringing in massive amounts of money by the big clubs of the continent.

In addition, Bartomeu also confirmed that he had agreed to a reported change in the FIFA Club World Cup format that would see the format of the tournament expand to possibly include more teams from all across the world.

Benzema accuses Vinicius Jr of ‘playing against Real Madrid’

0

Real Madrid have had a pretty poor start to the 20/21 Champions League campaign with a defeat at home to Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. They would’ve lost again last night but were saved by Benzema and Casemiro in the last 5 minutes of the game.

A rather shocking footage has come to light of a conversation between Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy.

Benzema was found communicating to the defender in French and his words, roughly translated mean, “He does whatever he wants. Brother, don’t play with him. On my mother’s life, he’s playing against us.”

The Frenchman was most likely referring to Vinicius Jr, who played out wide for the match and had a pretty poor game. So much so that it forced Benzema to consider that the youngster was playing for Gladbach.

The striker’s frustration was obvious since he has been one of the longest-serving players at Real and is also one of the four captains of the LaLiga champions.

Despite their victorious season in the league, the club have not been very lucky in European competition, losing both of their quarter-final legs to Manchester City last season to bring an end to their hopes for a 14th European title.

While it hasn’t been officially confirmed that the subject of Benzema’s conversation was actually Vinicius, the fact that he was barely on the ball during his 70 minutes on the pitch go a long way towards the fact being implied.

To make things even more dramatic, both of Real Madrid’s match-saving goals were scored after Vinicius’ substitution.

Vinicius Benzema accuses Vinicius Jr of 'playing against Real Madrid'

The youngster’s starting position in the lineup was justified considering it took him only 15 seconds to find the back of the net as he came off the bench against Shakhtar Donetsk.

However this poor performance last night is sure to make Zidane reconsider his choices out wide.

AMD to acquire Xilinx in a $35 billion deal

0

We have earlier heard rumours of AMD trying to acquire the silicon manufacturer Xilinx. The deal comes when the semiconductor industry sees waves of ripples for innovations in silicon manufacturing. The demand for high-performing processors in the data centre and cloud computing, hence AMD is reportedly trying to establish itself as a significant silicon supplier for the high-demand industry.

The deal is crucial for AMD as its biggest rival in the graphics processor market is already making its move. NVIDIA works to acquire the chip manufacturer A.R.M., which will give Nvidia an unfair advantage in the data centre and artificial intelligence market. So with this deal, AMD will have a fair chance of establishing itself as a competitor in the data centre chip manufacturing market.

According to sources, AMD will pay Xilinx shareholders a total of $35 billion in an all-stock transaction. According to AMD’s pricing, the company’s shareholders will then receive 1.7234 AMD shares in exchange for each share of Xilinx, and the price of each share is said to $82.9726.

The deal states that AMD shareholders will own 74% of the new entity, and the remainder will belong to Xilinx’s shareholders. However, the company’s shareholders are still to give the deal a green flag.

According to sources, Xilinx’s C.E.O. Mr Victor Peng will be joining AMD’s president in overlooking his company’s growth strategies. The two other board members of Xilinx will reportedly be joining AMD’s board.

AMD earlier released its earnings for the third quarter of 2020, which stated that its Computing and Graphics segment made significant profits. The chip designer has beaten all estimates for its GAAP and non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) and analysts’ revenue. AMD’s shares are currently down by 2.10% over yesterday’s close. This deal stands to increase the company’s profit by two-fold in the coming years.

AMD Q3 earnings crush its competitors

0

AMD is raising quite a profit this year and has announced its launch of next-generation processors. It seems like intel’s competitor has no desire to slow down and will only keep racking even more profits. The latest news from the industry is that AMD has revealed its earnings for the third quarter of 2020, and the reveal has sent ripples across the semiconductor market.

The third quarter of 2020 ended on September 30th, AMD earned $2.8 billion in revenue. It is whooping of the total annual increase by 55.6%, which beats every expectation from analysts, and this was expected from its bright Q2 earnings.

To sum up AMD’s reveal, the company’s computing and graphics division led the charge with $1.67 billion in revenue. The division had an increase of 30.64% of growth as compared with last year’s third quarter. A big part of this revenue goes to the company’s sale of Ryzen processors.

AMD’s server and embedded processors and development services segment for game consoles generated a revenue of $1.13 billion, staring at an annual growth of 116%. This mammoth growth is primarily the result of the company’s high-performing EPYC processors.

The release of the company’s latest AMD Ryzen 5000 series for desktop-grade processing allowed the company to reign supreme in the PC gaming sector in terms of performance and power efficiency. The Ryzen 5000 series is powered by the company’s next-generation Zen 3 architecture.

AMD’s latest EPYC processors saw an increase in demand due to their Azure Data Explorer data analytics platform usage. Not to mention, the new next-gen Zen 3 based EPYC processor will also be sported in the supercomputer LUMI being built in Finland. AMD sees an increase in the demand for its processors across devices. However, analysts claim that the sudden surge that the company saw in its profits is majorly due to Intel announcing a delay in its 7nm process-based chipsets.
