AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

With an aggressive preview of new 7nm products AMD is ready to take on its competitors market in this 2019

AMD, the Silicon giant, has provided an interesting CES keynote. AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su has announced world’s first 7nm GPU named the Radeon VII based on “Vega 2” architecture.

Also, they have launched the new 2nd gen Ryzen Mobile processors based on “Zen+” architecture that is made on 12nm process. AMD will now also power the Chromebooks with two of their refreshed old A-series processors.

Now after soo, much of leaks and speculations about the new Ryzen 3000 desktop processors people are quite disappointed by AMD’s move. But this thing has aroused a lot of controversies among people.

But one thing remains clear that AMD is ‘on track’ and will bombard their 7nm bombs throughout 2019. How? Let’s discuss:

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

Why no Navi?

One of the biggest questions of everybody is where is Navi GPUs. Now if you remember, Navi GPUs where promised to be one of the most advanced GPU architecture by AMD ever.

Recently AMD launched the RX 590 which Lisa Su mentioned in this keynote as a contender for smooth 1080p gaming at a budget. Then she mentioned or rather introduced us with the Radeon VII, which she claims is for those who want smooth 4K gaming at ultra settings.

AMD launches world's 1st 7nm GPU - Radeon VII

If you likely remember AMD’s roadmap it’s clearly mentioned 2019 will see 7nm products but starting with “Vega 2” architecture and then comes Navi. So, its fair enough for us to get Vega 2 based GPUs at the start which has already given a knock to make its competitor aware.

So, most likely you can expect more of Vega 2 based GPUs rather than Navi products which I hope will surely come when its time comes. Vega 2 is just the successor to AMD’s much successful Vega GPUs.

Google is also making moves to partner with AMD for their future projects as well based on their Radeon Pro GPUs.

No Ray Tracing?

2019 will see more of 7nm GPUs by AMD but what about Ray Tracing? NVIDIA brags about Ray Tracing in its GPUs but the biggest problem is that there no applications developed to use the feature.

It might be the future but it’s not the ultimatum factor that can judge the company. Ray Tracing is supported on selected games, and this is the key point that NVIDIA is using to attract people to buy their cards.

When RTX is on that too for select games including Battlefield V, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and now ANTHEM, it makes no sense to buy such expensive graphics cards just to sacrifice your sweet frame rates to enjoy such immersive features.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

Well this might be disagreed by many of the people but honestly, most of them won’t buy a card just for gaming on a few games, but significantly this is the future. 7nm is the future which now everyone has understood and people are eagerly waiting for it.

When Dr Lisa Su was asked about Ray Tracing she told:

“I would say that we are deep in development and that development is concurrent between hardware and software.”

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

So, it’s clear that the work is on but until and unless enough applications get developed its needless to bring such tech to make cards more expensive. AMD with its Vega 2 has stepped onto the 7nm realism and will surely develop itself to finally bring the Navi.

Maybe the Navi GPUs will get Ray Tracing support and as we all know as AMD cares of people’s budget, with more Ray Tracing applications in future we can expect Navi cards to serve people this tech quite smoothly.

Google is also making similar moves to partner with AMD for their future projects as well.

Where is Zen 2? How will it perform?

The Zen 2 architecture is based on a 7nm process which is crucial and is the key benefit that the Red team owns. Dr Lisa Su took the stage at the CES keynote and readily showed off the 7nm chip that borrows similarity which we previously saw on EPYC chip shown in 2018.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

Here we can see that there is one chiplet that has 8 cores and 16 threads based on 7nm and there’s the 14nm I/O die. As the name suggests, the chiplet is responsible for computing stuff and the I/O die helps to connect the processor to the input and output devices.

Dr Lisa showed us on stage that the alleged 8 cores/ 16 thread Ryzen 3000 chip to readily defeat the gigantic i9-9900K which Intel’s current best ship for the desktop lineup.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019
The live demo of new Ryzen 3000 desktop processor vs Intel i9-9900K

Now it’s pretty unclear whether the chip is Ryzen 3 or Ryzen 5, but the speed of this chip as well the power consumption is truly impressive, to be honest.

You can also notice that there is room for another chiplet which you can easily guess can be off another 8 cores and 16 threads. If combined, then a total of 16 cores and 32 threads can be achieved in such a tiny form factor.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

So, we do not know about how many cores and threads AMD gonna put but it is clear the next gen Ryzen CPUs will be a stunner for AMD to offer to the world of computing. The Ryzen 3000 series desktop processors are to be launched in the mid of 2019 that suggests May or June of 2019.

Truly AMD has kept everyone in suspense and we expect the fruit of patience to be sweet as well. Dr Lisa Su wants her consumers and gamers to hold on their nerves because the insane Ryzen 3000 desktop series will be coming very soon this 2019.

EYPC is true “Epic”

At November 2018, AMD showed their 7nm EPYC processors for servers based on a 7nm architecture that has way more cores and threads than its predecessor. It was originally told that it will perform as fast as two of Intel’s best server processor against one of the new EPYC processor.

To bring this to the limelight, AMD showed their 7nm EPYC CPU in action against two of Intel’s best Xeon processor and in a complex scientific test we saw it totally beating the blue team’s killer CPU by a good margin.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019
Another demo of new one chip 7nm AMD EPYC processors vs Intel’s best server-end CPU i.e. Xeon 8180

Also being built on 7nm it gets its own benefit of absorbing very low power which plays a significant role for server-end chips. The 2nd gen EPYC processors will have 2x performance than its 1st gen and this one too will have the same socket as its predecessors.

The 2nd gen EPYC processors will also be launched by mid of 2019. This will give an incredible performance for servers and high-end computing platforms including cloud computing and IOT.

Microsoft has declared on AMD’s partnership for its upcoming Project xCloud.

A new horizon for Mobile processors

Coming to the new Ryzen 3000 Mobile processors, which is based on Zen+ architecture i.e built on a 12nm process. Then new laptop processors are an improvement from previous year’s 1st gen and this time AMD has promised to give better performance along with greater battery life.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

All of the processors are APUs i.e. they have powerful Vega graphics unit under their hood as well. With proper driver support and optimization, AMD expects its users to get up to 12 hours of battery life.

Also from now onwards AMD will also power Chromebooks with two of its refreshed old processor with very low TDP.

Dr Lisa Su in an interview also said that:

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

“Sometimes in the notebook side because you go through so many different people—you go OEM to retail buyer to retailer to the blue shirt in Best Buy that has to explain it to the guy who doesn’t know much about about chips. There’s a lot of people to explain that message to.”

Dr Lisa Su, AMD CEO

Surely, AMD is trying hard to push its limits and bring a breakthrough in technology.

AMD to drop 7nm bombs throughout 2019

With 50 years of AMD in the market, they gained a lot of achievements and 2019 will surely be their special year.

So it’s for sure that they will release all of their 7nm products this year but in style. Intel will launch their 10nm Ice Lake CPUs in 2019, so to go head to head, and keep NVIDIA’s RTX subdued it’s for sure, in 2019 AMD will be dropping their 7nm bombs to capture the silicon market.

Xiaomi Mi LED TV 4X Pro: Bluetooth enabled remote control with voice command assistance and built-in Chromecast.
Xioami Mi LED TV 4A Pro: Bluetooth enabled remote control with voice command assistance and built-in Chromecast.

Different Design :

The first thing to notice about the new Mi 4X Pro 55-inch TV is its thicker design. Unlike the previous Mi TV 4 Pro which used to sport utterly sleek design which caught the eye, it also added to Xiaomi’s troubles of complicated logistics. This was also the reason for the very fragile packaging of the TV thus adding to the overhead. This time, Xiaomi has decided to do things differently as is apparent on the Mi TV 4X Pro. The new 55-inch model from Xiaomi sports a thicker built which is noticeable on the edges. Also, this model does not come with the blue accents and has noticeable bezels all-around.I

Better Audio :

The previous Xiaomi Mi 4 Pro was dependent on two speakers of 8W for its audio, but the new Xiaomi Mi TV 4X Pro comes with two speakers with 20W of output each. This means that the TV does not only provide better picture quality but also improves upon the audio quality too.

Xiaomi also launched two new televisions. First is the Mi LED TV 4X PRO 55 that has a 4K HDR panel, 20W speakers, Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI built on top of Android TV OS and a new 64-bit quad-core Amlogic processor with 2GB RAM, 8GB storage and improved image processing. This model is priced at INR 39,999 ($568).

The other is the Mi LED TV 4A PRO 43, which has a 1080p display, 20W speakers, PatchWall UI, and a quad-core Amlogic processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. This model is priced at INR 22,999 ($327) and will be available via Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home stores starting January 15 at 12pm.

Cesc Fabregas completes £10m move from Chelsea to Monaco signs three-and-a-half year deal. and could make his debut this weekend

The Chelsea midfielder reunites with his former Arsenal teammates Thierry Henry with the task of helping the Ligue 1 side avoid relegation

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has completed his move to Monaco in a deal worth a reported £10 million ($12.8m).

The 31-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year-deal with the principality club, with it hoped he will play a key role in helping the 2017 Ligue 1 champions avoid relegation.

He will reunite with former Arsenal team-mate and close friend Thierry Henry at Stade Louis II, with the Gunners’ all-time top goalscorer taking his first steps in management after Leonardo Jardim was sacked in October.

“It is a great pleasure to join AS Monaco, a new project for me,” Fabregas said in a statement.

Fabregas’ departure from Chelsea sees him end four-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge after he joined the Blues from Barcelona in 2014, with the Spain international helping the west London outfit win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup.

“There is no doubt Fabregas’s place in the Chelsea history books is assured given his achievements over the past four-and-a-half seasons,” a club statement read. “Big goals and outstanding moments of quality, all backed up by the ultimate aim, which is to be part of a successful, trophy-winning team.

“Fabregas departs having helped the club achieve great success, as well as providing our supporters with some wonderful memories.”

In total he scored 22 goals and laid on 57 assists during his 198 appearances for Chelsea, the last of which came on Saturday when he bid an emotional farewell to the club’s fans in the final stages of his side’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

Cesc Fabregas Chelsea 2018-19

Henry is keen to bolster his squad with his side sitting 19th in the table and five points from guaranteed safety, though they did book themselves a place in the Coupe de la Ligue semi-finals on Tuesday.

  • Monaco have completed the signing of midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea
  • The Spanish playmaker will join the Ligue 1 side on a three-and-a-half year deal
  • He is fourth signing made by Thierry Henry since the January window opened

Thierry Henry has made his first major transfer coup after Chelsea confirmed the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Monaco.

The Ligue 1 strugglers made the announcement on Friday afternoon and is the fourth bit of business they have conducted since the transfer window opened on January 1, with the 31-year-old signing a three-and-a-half year deal.

Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Fabregas said: ‘It’s a great pleasure to join Monaco, a new project for myself.

The 2017 French champions sit second-from-bottom, five points adrift of safety. It will be a different challenge for the playmaker, who has spent so much of his career at the top end of the table.

Top 11 highest goal scoring defenders of all time

1

Sergio Ramos scored his 100th career goals. For a defender, Sergio Ramos’ goalscoring record is phenomenal but there are other defenders with more goals. Lets have a look at all of them.

The Real Madrid captain bagged the 100th goal of his career by scoring against Leganes in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey meeting at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Of the century, 80 have come for Real Madrid, three for Sevilla and 17 for Spain, making him the European centre-back with the most international goals.

To mark his 100th goal, Ramos converted a penalty, as he has done on many occasions. He then celebrated with a gesture that recognised the milestone. His first came on September 16, 2004, when he netted for Sevilla.

Right now, Sergio Ramos is among the foremost figures when speaking about the goal-scoring defenders, but he is not even among the top 10 of the highest of all time. Who are, then? Lets find out.

Ronald Koeman

RONALD KOEMAN (253 GOALS)
He is the ultimate goal-scoring defender of all time. The former Holland international was regularly used as a sweeper and thus afforded license to get forward, while he also took penalties and free-kicks for many of his clubs.
Koeman once scored 26 goals in a season for PSV, before finding the net 19 times for Barcelona in both 1989/90 and 1993/94. His most important effort for the Blaugrana came in 1991/92, when the Dutchman’s 112th-minute free-kick won the Catalans their first ever European Cup against Sampdoria.
In a career that saw him win many trophies, he contributed by scoring a record 253 goals, making him the highest scoring defender of all time.
And it seems unlikely that anyone can ever break the bar set by him.

DANIEL PASSARELLA

DANIEL PASSARELLA (175 GOALS)
If either Diego Maradona or Lionel Messi is the greatest attacking player Argentina have ever produced, there’s no doubt that Passarella is the South American nation’s foremost defender.
They say that short players are not supposed to make good defenders, but Daniel Passarella breaks that convention into a million pieces. Despite being 5’8”, he had an astounding ability to score from headers. He was the perfect epitome of a defender: good tackler, intelligent, and a leader at the back.
It was under captaincy of the ex-River Plate and Fiorentina centre-back that Argentina won the 1978 World Cup.
He scored a mammoth 175 goals in his glorious career.

FERNANDO HIERRO

FERNANDO HIERRO (163 GOALS)
While Iker Casillas might have been Spain’s most successful captain, Fernando Hierro was certainly its grittiest one. His determination and courage made him revered among the fan base of even rival Barcelona and, to this day, Madrid couldn’t find a true replacement for their former captain.
It was not only his leadership or defensive skills that made him a fort at the back, but it was his ability to score from nowhere as he was a great header of the ball and was the primary spot-kick and free-kick taker at the club.
In his radiant career, he scored 163 goals to become Spain’s best ever goal-scoring defender.

LAURENT BLANC

LAURENT BLANC (153 GOALS)
Eric Cantona, Roger Milla and Olivier Giroud all played for Montpellier, but Blanc is the club’s all-time leading scorer after netting 80 times in 263 games between 1983 and 1991. He came through as an attacking midfielder in his early days and many of his goals came from the penalty spot, but he also took the odd free-kick – including a brilliant curler in Montpellier’s 1990 Coupe de France triumph over RC Paris.
Blanc’s most memorable open-play effort was the golden goal which sent France through to the last eight of the 1998 World Cup at the expense of Paraguay.

GRAHAM ALEXANDER

GRAHAM ALEXANDER (130 GOALS)
Despite being occasionally deployed in defensive midfield at various clubs throughout his career, Alexander was a right-back by trade. The former Scottish right-back played for numerous clubs like Scunthorpe United, Burnley, Luton Town and Preston North End. The fact that he was the first spot-kick taker for the teams he played for meant that he could score a lot of goals. He has 40 international caps for Scotland as well but he never got on the scoresheet for his country.

STEVE BRUCE

STEVE BRUCE (113 GOALS)
Mention the words ‘Steve Bruce’ and ‘goal’ to any Manchester United fan and there’s only game that will spring to mind. The former Red Devils centre-back scored twice late on in a pivotal come-from-behind victory over Sheffield Wednesday in 1992/93 – and had the defender not popped up in the Owls’ penalty box, Alex Ferguson’s side may not have gone on to win the club’s first league title in 26 years.
Goals weren’t exactly a rarity for Bruce, though: the uncapped Englishman netted 113 of them throughout a career which also included spells at Gillingham, Norwich, Birmingham and Sheffield United. The 1990/91 season was his most prolific – 19 goals in all competitions.

PAUL BREITNER

PAUL BREITNER (113 GOALS)
Breitner stepped forward into midfield during the latter stages of his career, but before that he was a left-back for clubs – Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Eintracht Braunschweig – and country. The former West Germany international won Euro ’72 and the 1974 World Cup with his country, scoring three goals at the latter tournament – including the equalising penalty against Holland in the final.
In fact, he’s one of only four players to score in two World Cup finals, having plundered another in the 1982 showpiece against Italy. Ten of Breitner’s career goals came for Die Mannschaft, with the rest notched at club level. His most prolific spell came during his midfield days at Bayern, but he still posed a threat to the opposition goal even when utilised in a deeper role.

ROBERTO CARLOS

ROBERTO CARLOS (113 GOALS)
Perhaps the greatest attacking left-back of all time, Roberto Carlos had a knack of scoring great goals. While defensively he might not have the best, there were and are only a few who could amount to the attacking prowess of the former Brazil international.
The World Cup winning defender had a great ability to marauding forward and channelling his movements into goal-scoring areas of the pitch. Add to that the fact he was a specialist free-kick taker and a marksman from long range, which meant that he would score some cracking goals every now and then.

FRANZ BECKENBAUER

FRANZ BECKENBAUER (108 GOALS)
‘Der Kaiser’ was a defender ahead of his time. He specialised in the sweeper role and remains one of its greatest ever exponents. The fact that he was the furthest outfield player from the opposition’s goal makes his goals stat look even more compelling.
The German legend was highly regarded for his genius-level intellect, passing precision, vision and defending, but it doesn’t stop there. He was also a prolific goal-scoring defender who led the great Bayern and Germany side of the 70s with vigour.
In a career that spanned for 19 years, Beckenbauer scored 108 times.

SINISA MIHAJLOVIC

SINISA MIHAJLOVIC (105 GOALS)
Mihajlovic was an expert free-kick taker and the majority of his 105 goals for club and country came from dead-ball situations. The Yugoslavia international struck 10 times for his country, including a low free-kick to open the scoring against Iran at the 1998 World Cup, and on 61 occasions for four different sides in Serie A.
Together with Andrea Pirlo, the ex-Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter left-back holds the all-time record for most free-kick goals (28) in the Italian top flight, and he also scored regularly from the penalty spot during his time on the peninsula.

Sergio Ramos

SERGIO RAMOS (100 GOALS)
Sergio Ramos is the modern day definition of a goal scoring defender. In this modern era no defender scores goals as easily and as frequently as Sergio Ramos. His Champions League final strikes against Atletico Madrid in both Lisbon and Milan are the standouts. Seven of his goals have come this season, as he has become the first-choice penalty taker since Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer exit.
Ramos scores most often against Malaga – five times – and he also enjoys playing against Barcelona, scoring on four occasions against the Catalans. 59 of his goals have come in LaLiga Santander, 5 in the Copa del Rey, 11 in the Champions League, 1 in the Europa League, 7 between Super Cups and the Club World Cup, while 17 have come for Spain, with five of those coming in friendlies.

So, now its official that AMD is launching first of its consumer-level gaming GPU based on 7nm architecture. Instead of launching their bunch of products as leaked earlier, they introduced only the Radeon VII Gaming GPU.

The Radeon VII is based on ‘Vega 2‘ architecture not on the leaked ‘Navi’ architecture. This means Vega 2 is just a prototype of what more we can expect from AMD’s 7nm products in future.

AMD Radeon™ VII: World’s First 7nm Gaming GPU

AMD Radeon™ VII graphics brings maximum performance for hardcore enthusiast gamers, delivering incredible, ultra-smooth gaming experiences at consistently high FPS, in 1440p, ultrawide and 4K resolutions. Dr Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, took the stage and explained the how important the graphics cards are to the gamers. So, to expand its portfolio they have launched the Radeon VII which seems to be the direct successor to the Vega 64.

Now, one thing is sure that this card won’t have any Ray Tracing, as they focussing much more on ‘smooth gameplay’, at the highest settings both at 4K. The card has been priced at $699 and shipping of the card will start from 7th of February.

The Radeon VII delivers higher gaming performance than even the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics card.

The new AMD Radeon VII graphics card Sample

Well, honestly this is an interesting card, a graphics card that directly competes with RTX 2080 at about half of its price which is incredible. If this card gives 60+ FPS at 4K for popular triple A titles, then it will be worth buying.

For productivity and content creation this card plays a vital role even at $699, and a 20-30 per cent better performance than Vega 64 which makes this card quiet a “Flagship Killer”.

Well, I hope by May we get to see more graphics cards by AMD at Computex or at IFA, and yes the NAVI graphics cards well. Not much is said about them, but we can expect new 7nm products raining through 2019 and 2020.

What do you think? Would buy the new Radeon VII? Tell us in the comments below… 🙂

Omar El Husseiny scored from the spot at the half-hour mark before Aser Dipanda Dica doubled the scoreline in the 69th minute to rediscover his scoring touch.

Sony Norde was once again the limelight for Bagan as he was the livewire for the Mariners in the attacking third.

Aser Dipanda Dica regained his shooting boots (69′) after Omar El Hussieny scored the opening goal from the spot (30′).

Bagan continued their domination in the second half as well. Yuta Kinowaki and Omar were winning the midfield battle against Minerva which complicated the matters for Munster’s team.

“I’m very happy with the game. The players did all the good work and motivated each other to play well. It’s because of the players that we won today,” Khalid Jamil said after the match.

Khalid Jamil in his first match as head coach of Mohun Bagan, made five changes to the side from their defeat against Real Kashmir. Dalraj Singh and Gurjinder Kumar made their way back into a four-man backline. Former Mumbai FC player Darren Caldeira started in place of Sourav Das in midfield. Khiangte was dropped from the matchday squad and Azharuddin Mallick started on the left flank. Ugandan striker Henry Kisekka was also benched as Jamil preferred Aser Dipanda Dica up front.

The Bagan coach didn’t have as much a problem with the refereeing as much as his counterpart from Minerva Punjab, Paul Munster.

Mohun Bagan will play their next match against Neroca on December 12th at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan(Salt lake Stadium).
