IPL 2020: Mohammed Siraj creates IPL history, becomes the first player to bowl 2 consecutive maiden overs!

0

Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj created IPL history as he became the first player to bowl back-to-back maiden overs in the Indian Premier League.

Not just maiden overs, he picked up two back-to-back wicket maidens as he picked up two wickets in his first and one in his second over respectively.

He accomplished this outstanding accomplishment during yesterday’s match when Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Kolkata Knight Riders. Both RCB and KKR being at third and fourth position respectively, desperately wanted this win to get into the top two positions of the points table. After winning the toss, KKR skipper Eoin Morgan confidently chose to bat first. However, that decision obviously backfired.

PN9053JPG IPL 2020: Mohammed Siraj creates IPL history, becomes the first player to bowl 2 consecutive maiden overs!

Siraj displayed brilliant swing bowling!

Siraj was brought in as a replacement and that decision obviously paid off. He first took the wicket of Rahul Tripathi who could be a very dangerous batsman. On the very next ball, he sent the talented Nitish Rana towards the pavilion.

It was quite evident that Siraj was targeting full test match style length and trying to swing the ball under Shaikh Zayed conditions. Tripathi was dismissed by an out-swinger which took the outside edge. Rana, however, was deceived by an in-swinger that disturbed his timber.

He followed the same approach in his next over against another young, talented, and dangerous Tom Banton. Banton had a great Big Bash and is well versed in facing fast bowlers. Siraj, however, used Banton’s aggression against him as he pitched the ball full and slightly outside the off-stump inviting the drive. Banton fell into the trap as he attempted a cover drive that got an outside edge to the keeper.

Siraj conceded only 8 runs off his four overs with an economy of only 2.00. He finished with outstanding figures of 4-2-8-3! Kohli would be extremely happy to add Siraj to his bowling reliable lineup of Morris, Saini, and Chahal.

Here are all the new icons of Google’s popular apps

We all, whoever uses the internet, is somehow connected with Google. Commonly we can say, Google is a part of our daily life. So, it’s obvious there is hardly a person who doesn’t aware of the quad-color logo of Google. Apart from the logo, we all are connected with this company through its various services like Gmail, Drive, Calendar, PlayStore, Google Duo, Google Fit, and so on.

Don’t know whether you noticed or not, this Mountain View giant is replacing the app icons of its services slowly over a few months. It was started with the logo change of Google Photos. Now, currently, the list contains five to six applications. Apart from Google Photos, there are Google Calendar, Google Drive, Gmail, Google Fi, Google Meet, and obviously the Google Maps.

Google is changing its services icons one after another_TechnoSports.co.in

Surprise? You should. From the list, though, Google Maps’ icon change is a bit old news now, the rest of the other platform’s makeover is recent. Not sure about the Android 11 updates of these applications, but for the rest of the versions, the applications as not changed yet except Google Maps, Google Drive, and Google Photos. The changes in Google Calendar, Gmail, and Google Meet are visible on the web version only.

It seems Google is trying to redesign all of its popular applications’ icons with the famous quad-color format. We have to see when these changes will reflect on the smartphone versions and also how many applications are yet to join this list.

Lastly, these changes are from the outside. We need to check further to confirm any internal changes are there or not.

5G might hurt as much as 20% battery life for iPhone 12 series

Apple introduced us with the new iPhone 12 series, which is the first to sport 5G connectivity, seems to be in spotlight for some time now as people are waiting to get their hands-on with the next-gen iPhones. Obviously, 5G will remain the sole point to upgrade for a lot of people, however, this feature might end up eating some battery as well.

As per the report from Tom’s Guide, these new iPhones seem to drain more battery and even more than the 5G based Android smartphones. In their test we see there’s almost 20% more drain in battery while using 5G over 4G connectivity.

Carrier providers are giving away free iPhone 12 to attract customers to their 5G network

In this kind of situation it makes no sense for Apple to reduce battery sizes over last generation as with 5G the need for battery has increased drastically, not even giving a full 10 hours screen on time. Apple does have that automatic 5G to 4G network switch but that works in certain scenarios only.

So, if you want to juice the max battery out of your new iPhone, do switch to 4G manually to get the max out of it. The new iPhone 12 even falls behind the 5G enabled Android flagships like Galaxy S20 or OnePlus 8T or Pixel 5.

Apple needs to fix this somehow via update or something like that to make for the cut in the battery sizes this time.

Acer launches first Chrome OS devices powered by Snapdragon 7c SoC

0

The current pandemic has forced everyone to adapt to a Work from Home culture. With most professionals pushing their work through online mode, portable devices have seen a surge in their demand compared with previous years.

One of the devices that have been seeing an increase in demand and innovation are the Chromebooks. With teaching being taken to online platforms, sales of Chromebooks have drastically increased. The industry is now gearing up to offer new designs to make Chromebook a more viable choice for users to buy.

Since the beginning, Chromebooks have been powered by Intel processors and worked as expected.

The only issue was the lack of proper battery backup and high manufacturing cost. But things are about to change for good.

We already know that Microsoft is pushing its upcoming Windows 10 PCs with Qualcomm-based chipset to improve the power consumption and performance of its surface notebooks. Acer has recently announced breaking the tradition and releasing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c-powered Chromebook Spin 513 and Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513. They are the first Chrome OS devices to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c chips

Acer’s new Chromebook Spin 513 will be available for purchase from February 2021 in the US market and will have a retail price of $399.99; the Chromebook Enterprise Spin 513, on the other hand, has a release date of March 2021 and will start at the cost of $699.99.

Many might argue that the Snapdragon 7c is a low powered processor. It is currently Qualcomm’s weakest laptop processor in the market. All that is true, but Acer and Qualcomm are trying to ship a Chrome OS device that delivers longer battery life, which the Snapdragon 7c can. Acer claims that the new Chromebooks powered by Snapdragon 7c will output 14 hours of battery life.

Nvidia’s ARM acquisition faces a challenge from Chinese authorities

0

NVIDIA has been making rounds in the semiconductor market with its latest acquisition of ARM. This acquisition would most likely stir up the tech world at its core. Arm’s limitless potential and uses in the smartphone market and low-power processing segment give Nvidia an unfair advantage over other mobile processor manufacturers. ARMs importance is growing in both the data center and supercomputing markets. Thus the Nvidia deal comes with significant consequences for the tech industry.

Many believe that China’s authorities might not let the deal follow-through, which will cause several implications to the manufacturer of the graphics.

Rumors have surfaced that several Chinese companies, including the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei. The reports claim that the Chinese tech giant is actively lobbying regulatory bodies to either reject the deal or accept it only with several conditions.

The trade war between the chinses and the trump administration is still going strong, especially with the US department stripping Huweai from expanding bits 5G technology and limiting its business with TSMC.

Huawei and several Chinese companies are pushing China’s State Administration for Market Regulation to ensure their ability to use Arm’s designs. They believe the new acquisition will hamper their business.

NVIDIA will have the option to remove Arm from the Chinese market completely that will strip the country’s tech giants of the integral design required by their semiconductor wafers.

Regulatory approval is critical for Nvidia’s ARM deal. If the United Kingdom administration joins China in potential rejection of the agreement, then NVIDIA will have no choice but to abandon its acquisition of ARM.

However, NVIDIA has assured that Arm will operate in the same manner that it currently does. NVIDIA plans to use Arm’s customer base to expand its GPU presence while targeting the growing artificial intelligence.

FC Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann stands in support of Ansu Fati after racist comments by Spanish journalist

0

The beautiful sport of football is a medium for people to connect with and has sometimes furthered the cause of humanity which gives rise to passion and emotions in a positive manner. But what is not welcome in football, is racism and lack of education leading to unacceptable statements.

Many footballing entities have undertaken their stand of “No Racism” and have staunchly promoted this strong message so that more and more people can become aware of the issue. But regardless, incidents keep coming up time and again. The latest footballer to be subjected to racism is young Ansu Fati of FC Barcelona. And teammate Antoine Griezmann is winning respect and hearts on the internet today, with his stance on the situation and reaction on Twitter.

Griezmann secured a screenshot of one of Salvador Sostres’ article which contained the offensive and racist words directed towards Fati, and his post’s translated caption read “Ansu is an exceptional boy who deserves respect like any human being. No to racism and no to bad education.” This development came after the author had covered the review of the UCL group stage match between Barcelona and Ferencvaros, which ended 5-1 in the former’s favor.

Ansu Fati scored 1 goal and 2 assists in the game but was still subjected to such treatment by the writer. Barcelona’s legal services department is expected to take up this matter very seriously, and might even sue the agency and writer on relevant grounds.

Griezmann bench: Ansu Fati, in the line-up against Valladolid

Ansu Fati has certainly emerged as Barcelona’s golden boy in the last season, who is an established member of the first team now with his latest contract extension. With the likes of fellow forwards Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann guiding him at the starting of his top-flight career, Fati has fitted in seamlessly at the club with no incessant pressure particularly placed on his young shoulders. Fati has so far this season a tally of 4 goals in 5 games across all competitions for FC Barcelona.
