Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Tri-Fold has leaked with game-changing camera specifications, promising to solve the biggest weakness of foldable phones. A leaked animation reveals the device could offer up to 100x zoom, marking a massive leap from the modest 3x telephoto zoom that Samsung’s foldables have been stuck with since 2019.

Galaxy Z Tri-Fold vs Current Foldables

Feature	Galaxy Z Tri-Fold	Galaxy Z Fold 6	Galaxy S25 Ultra
Main Camera	200MP (leaked)	50MP	200MP
Max Zoom	100x Digital	30x Digital	100x Digital
Optical Zoom	5x+ (rumored)	3x	5x
Fold Type	Tri-fold	Bi-fold	Candybar
Photography Grade	Flagship-level	Mid-tier	Flagship-level

Breaking Foldable Camera Limitations

This potential upgrade would immediately place the Galaxy Z tri-fold in the same photographic league as the Galaxy S Ultra series, finally giving foldable users the flagship camera experience they’ve been demanding.

Key camera improvements expected:

200MP main sensor matching the S25 Ultra
100x digital zoom capability
At least 5x optical zoom – a first for Samsung foldables
Advanced computational photography powered by improved AI

Why This Matters

Since the original Galaxy Z Fold in 2019, Samsung’s foldables have been limited to a modest 3x telephoto zoom, forcing users to choose between innovative form factors and serious photography capabilities. The Z Tri-Fold changes that equation completely.

The leaked animations show seamless zoom transitions from wide-angle to extreme telephoto, suggesting Samsung has finally prioritized camera performance alongside foldable innovation.

Beyond Photography

The Z Tri-Fold isn’t just about cameras. We’ve been getting more leaks around multitasking features that take advantage of the triple-screen design, potentially transforming how we use mobile devices for productivity.

Expected features include:

Desktop-like multitasking across three screens
Enhanced DeX support for PC-like experiences
Seamless app continuity between folded states

Market Impact

With flagship camera capabilities finally coming to foldables, Samsung could attract photography enthusiasts who previously avoided foldable phones due to camera compromises. This positions the Z Tri-Fold as a true Galaxy S Ultra alternative rather than a separate category.
