5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

0

When the market is flooded with powerful budget smartphones from Realme and Xiaomi, the Chinese handset maker makes a bold move this time. Even though we all know that Vivo launched the Vivo U10 just a month ago or so with great specs, the handset maker has already announced the Vivo U20.

The new Vivo U20 will strengthen Vivo’s budget segment of the smartphone, which most of them are overpriced (as they are offline specific ones). This new smartphone will be available via Amazon & Vivo store only like the previous Vivo U10.

The predecessor of this smartphone was one of the best one under Rs.10k category with great specs like Snapdragon 665, 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support and offering 4+64GB variant with dedicated microSD card support. The U10 excelled in most of the departments but yes according to our review the display quality was not great.

With the U20, Vivo wants to capture the budget smartphone segment and correct the flaws left by its predecessor. So, here are the 5 reasons to buy the new smartphone:

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

1. FHD+ Display & Good Design

One of the major disadvantages of the Vivo U10 was its HD+ display and Vivo has upgraded it to a 6.35-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels along with a pixel density of 395 PPI.

The display has a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio along with the much required Widevine L1 license for streaming Netflix & Amazon Prime Video in HD. The design seems a look-alike of the Realme 3 Pro with the same gradient design back and looks decent enough.

2. Qualcomm Snapdragon 675

This smartphone is a true power-packed one with the best in this segment Snapdragon 675 based on 11nm process. Even though it is a last year’s chip but truly powerful for budget centric smartphones as it comes with a clock speed of 2GHz.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

The Snapdragon 675 provides 25% better performance than the Snapdragon 665 making a better choice for performance seekers. On the GPU front, you get the capable Adreno 612 GPU to handle your prolong gaming sessions.

3. UFS 2.1 Storage + 6GB RAM

The Rs.12k model packs a huge 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. With 6GB of RAM, you can play games at a breeze and install lots of apps also never worry about slowdowns as the UFS 2.1 storage gives 68% better speed than the regular eMMC storage.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

4. 5000mAh Battery with 18W Fast Charge

The thing that has not changed with the new model is the massive 5000mAh battery that can be charged easily with a bundled 18W fast charger. Also, the Vivo U20 has the modern USB Type-C port for faster data transfer.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

5. Upgraded Camera

Another big change that you can get at Rs.2k difference between the previous Vivo U10 and the new Vivo U20 is the upgraded camera module for both front and back. The rear camera packs an upgraded triple camera setup with a 16MP primary Sony IMX499 lens with f/1.78 aperture, a secondary wide-angle 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a macro 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

There are lot of camera features and hopefully, you can get decent photos with the smartphone obviously not as crisp as the Redmi Note 8 or Realme 5s. Also, the 8MP front camera has been upgraded with a 16MP camera lens with f/2.0 aperture.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

10-core 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPU spotted on Geekbench

0

The upcoming 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPUs are the result of Intel’s another generation of “tick-tock” procedure over its age-old 14nm architecture. Squeezing out the maximum from its 14nm node Intel is currently focussing to meet customer demand as its facing shortage of 14nm nodes in the procedure of making 10nm nodes, which also seems in trouble especially for desktop Ice Lake lineup.

To fight with its even-more powerful competitor AMD, Intel has no option but releasing the new CPUs based on their age-old architecture. In 2020, Intel seems to bring these new Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs to the limelight and as per leaks, Intel will go from 4 cores to all the way up to 10 cores.

Intel officially announces 10th Gen Comet Lake Processors based on 14nm

Previously we got some benchmark leaks of 14nm Comet Lake Intel Core i7-10710U CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads. Now we got some leaks of Core i5 and the alleged Core i9 model with 10-cores and 20-threads. The Geekbench 4 leaks show these CPUs to have a timid clock speed and possibly these are early-stage engineering samples.

To answer AMD’s monstrous 12 core and 16 core CPUs, Intel will debut with 10 cores for the first time for commercial CPUs. As the market needs more and more performance, its obvious Intel had to introduce a 10 core CPU to meet the performance race.

10-core 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPU spotted on Geekbench

According to the Geekbench entries, we see 6 core CPU features a base clock speed of 1.99GHz and a mere boost clock of 2.89GHz. The cache has also bumped up, now with 384 KB L1 cache, 1.5 MB L2 cache, and 12 MB of L3 cache.

10-core 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPU spotted on Geekbench

The alleged 10 core/ 20 thread which is supposed to the 10th Gen Core i9 has a base clock speed of 1.51GHz and a slightly increased boost clock of 3.19GHz. The cache has been increased to 640 KB of L1 cache, 2.5 MB of L2 cache and 20 MB of L3 cache.

These new CPUs feature Intel’s new UHD Graphics 630 iGPUs and the graphics core frequency is higher on the 10-core (1.2 GHz) compared to the 6-core (1.15 GHz). Even though these are early engineering samples, we get a fair idea about these upcoming 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs.

Toni Kroos is Germany’s most important player heading into the Euro 2020

Germany manager Joachim Low has highlighted the importance of Toni Kroos.

Germany won the 2014 World Cup. They were a force in international football. But they have endured a mixed run of form since their group-stage exit from the 2018 World Cup.

After that exit, Joachim Low had publicly announced that Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller, who were Germany’s stalwarts in the 2014 World Cup win, would not be selected again in the Germany squad. Low has come into criticism since that decision.

Germany crushed Belarus by 4-0 on Saturday to secure their place at the Euro 2020. Leon Goretzka and Ginter scored a goal apiece while Toni Kroos scored two goals.

kroos

Low told the German Football Association’s (DFB) official website: “Toni Kroos played a great game, not just because he scored twice. You can pass him the ball at any time and he’ll find a way to deal with it, even if he’s under pressure. He has a great vision and a sense of where he is on the pitch.”

“He’s a role model for the rest of the team with the way he approaches his job. He always puts in that extra bit of work before and after training – he’s a consummate professional.”

ginter

Low also praised his defender Ginter: “As a coach, you always know what to expect from him [Ginter]. You can trust him and he is able to do what we want him to do, which is to help build the play up from defense.
He’s gotten much better. He has this sense of calmness about him, which is what makes him so solid, serious and reliable. I’m especially happy that he was able to score such a beautiful goal [on Saturday].”

But, heading into the Euro 2020, Germany has some young players who lack experience of the big stage.

kimmich

Kroos told reporters on Monday: “It’s no surprise that we want to win the game. Of course, the chance to finish first in the group is a bit of extra motivation. We’ve got some good players who have had some minutes. In terms of a grade, I’d put the year between a B and a C, because it’s nothing special that we’ve qualified.

“Several of the younger players have improved already. We’ve made some progress. The international games in March will be important again as we play against big nations. We’ll have to wait and see how we perform at the Euros, but I have a good feeling about it.”

“Jo[Joshua Kimmich] can do both: he can make life difficult for our opponents and he’s able to make smart decisions with the ball. The fact that we work well together wasn’t a surprise to me.”

John Obi Mikel: Eden Hazard is the laziest of all my former teammates

John Obi Mikel has termed his former Chelsea teammate Hazard as the “laziest”.

John Obi Mikel and Eden Hazard shared the same dressing room at Chelsea for four seasons. Hazard arrived at Chelsea from Lille in 2012.

Hazard made 352 appearances for the club, scoring 110 goals. He became Chelsea’s main man and led them to Premier League as well as Europa League titles in his time at the Stamford Bridge.

In the recently concluded summer transfer window, he completed a coveted €100million move to the LaLiga giants Real Madrid. The move was on the cards from last season. After the 2018 World Cup, Hazard went public with his wish.

mikel hazard

John Obi Mikel, a Champions League winner with Chelsea, has no doubt over Hazard’s incredible talent but also labeled him as the “laziest” player he has trained alongside.

Mikel told beIN SPORTS in Turkey: “Hazard has incredible talent. Maybe not as good as [Lionel] Messi, but he can do whatever he wants with the ball at his feet.

“He didn’t like to train hard. While we were working he was waiting for us to finish training just standing there. But on Sundays he was always man of the match, it was unbelievable.”

Mikel also said that current Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is the hardest trainer he has seen.

Ronaldo insists there is no controversy with Sarri

Cristiano Ronaldo reveals that he has no complaint against Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri.

Juventus head coach Maurizio Sarri substituted Cristiano Ronaldo in the last two consecutive matches. While being substituted Ronaldo seemed angry and frustrated with the Juventus boss.

In their last match against AC Milan, Ronaldo was substituted for Dybala, who scored the winning goal. Ronaldo who is familiar with scoring the winning goals for his team, has seen the winning goals from the sidelines recently.

ronaldo dybala

Maurizio Sarri cited the reason for Ronaldo’s substitution was his knee injury.

But surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo was at his prolific best for Portugal in their Euro 2020 qualifier matches. He scored a hat-trick against Lithuania and tapped in a goal against Luxembourg as well. He is now just one short of achieving a century of international goals.

ronaldo

Ronaldo told reporters after the match at Stade Josy Barthel: “For the last three weeks, I have been playing limited. There was no controversy, you create controversy. I don’t like to be replaced, but I have been playing limited for the last three weeks. I tried to help Juventus, even playing injured.
No one likes to be replaced, but I understand why – I was not well. I’m still not 100 percent, but when it comes to sacrificing for the club or team I do it with pride because I know there were a lot of games up for grabs.”

“At Juventus, Inter are putting on a lot of pressure [in Serie A]. We are two points ahead, but we can’t go easy because if we draw or lose, they pass us and I sacrificed myself.
In the national team, if we didn’t win one of our two games, we could be out. I also sacrificed myself for the national team. “

ronaldo

He further said: “I never had major injuries. I play 50 or 60 games a year, but at one time or another there may be an unforeseen event – it’s a pain that keeps me from being 100 percent. I always try to help. They put a lot of controversy on this subject, but you know I don’t talk much in the press.
We won. Juventus are in the first place, we qualified and I will be 100 percent as fast as possible.”

Portugal, the reigning champions of the European Championship, have now qualified for the Euro 2020. The emergence of Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, Ruben Neves and Fernandes, alongside the presence of the evergreen Ronaldo, arguably gives the veteran coach, Fernando Santos a far stronger squad than the one that won a maiden major international honour for the country.
