The Indian Gaming Community seems anxious due to the PUBG ban rumors

0

The entire gaming community of India is worrying as a rumor regarding the PUBG ban comes in the market. A few days back, the Indian government bans 47 Chinese apps and declared around 275 more apps are there under the reader, including PUBG Mobile.

This game comes on the radar as the mobile version was launched and distributed by a Chinese tech giant Tencent. Though it recently updates its privacy policies for Indians and declares all the generated data from India are stored on local servers only. Need to mention, the battle royale game is actually developed by PUBG Corporation which is a South Korean company.

No doubt, this game, PUBG Mobile, is one of India’s most people mobile games currently and the stats show this clearly. 24% of the entire download is coming from India only, it’s 180 million downloads. From 2019, the game bags nearly $28 million through the in-app purchases.

PUBG Mobile gives a massive boost to the Indian gaming community. More youngsters become positive to make their caries on this. Not only that, but so many people are also making money by hosting tournaments. If this game gets banned, a clear impact will be visible for sure.

Sabyasachi Bose, a professional gamer said, “It can be said beyond reasonable doubt PUBG Mobile is holding the flag of Indian eSports because of its massive audience and investment. And if gets banned, it will be a huge loss for the eSports ecosystem in India,”

As per Rushindra Sinha, the founder of Global Esports, “Tournament prize money in India grew 180% YoY (Year on Year) in 2019. The single most important driving factor has been PUBG Mobile. Although we’re just halfway through the year there has already been a total of 5 crores in prize money from PUBG Mobile tournaments,”

If you look at the market, there are more options available to switch from PUBG, like Fortnite, Call of Duty, and more. But these games still don’t have the same craze as the Player Unknown’s Battle Ground.

“I don’t think switching to other games like COD Mobile will be that difficult or will take that much time. For instance, Valorant from Riot games was recently released and it’s already getting a huge response in India,”– Sabyasachi Bose.

Courtois won the Zamora trophy for his terrific performance under the bars. Sergio Ramos also created many records with his goalscoring form, despite being a defender. He became the highest goalscoring defender in LaLiga. He was also very effective in leading the backline.

Casemiro was so good in breaking the opponent’s attacks and Kroos controlled the play from the middle of the park while Benzema led the team from the front with 21 league goals. All the Real Madrid players justified their inclusion in the Team of the Year.

Zinedine Zidane won the 11th trophy of his career. It seems whatever the Frenchman touches turns into gold. He has done a wonderful job at Real Madrid once again. He has been rightly recognized by UEFA for his brilliance.

TATA, one of India’s largest and most trusted company, has offered their help to BCCI to create the bio-secure bubble in the UAE. TATA groups’ medical arm, TATA Medical and Diagnostics has come up with this offer. They gave a presentation on “a holistic, state-of-the-art integrated Bridgital technology-based, end-to-end, COVID safety services solution and enable the league to set the gold standard”, according to a report by TOI.

IPL GC Chairman Brijesh Patel said after the meeting on Sunday: “Yes, we were given a presentation by Tata group. IPL GC members are extremely impressed with the pitch. Final calls will be taken before the end of this week.”

TATA group’s automobile arm, TATA Motors are one of the sponsors of IPL. If BCCI accepts this offer, TATA Medical and Diagnostics will also become a part of IPL.

TATA plans to work with BCCI, IPL Management team, IPL franchises and the UAE government to provide end-to-end support for Coronavirus safety management. They will also implement AI-driven technology to monitor the movement of all the participants.

According to the TOI report, TATA says the solution levers and their intensity will be based on an understanding of the inherent criticality and risk levels and the usage of various zones at the venues that can be categorized into various criticality groups:

  • Platinum: Players and coaches
  • Gold: TV broadcast crew
  • Silver: Matchday entertainers

Further, stakeholder groups can also be categorized based on the risk of:

  • Catching COVID (Exposure risk): High for TV Crews
  • Transmitting COVID (Spreading risk): High for support staffs

Areas marked into Access Zones at the stadium can also be categorized as follows:

  • Sanctum: Playing field and dressing room
  • Exclusive: Media and TV broadcast areas
  • Controlled: Stadium concourse

BCCI will now discuss among themselves about this offer from TATA Medical and Diagnostics, which seems to be too good to be declined. They will announce their decision within this week.

Jay Shah, Honorary Secretary of BCCI told: ” The Governing Council also discussed the comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which will be finalised and published in due course, including the agencies to execute and deliver a bio-secure environment for safe and successful conduct of IPL 2020 Season.”

So if TATA’s proposal is accepted their guidelines will be included in the SOP and distributed among all the members of IPL.

Indian Govt welcomes Apple & Samsung’s effort to boost local manufacturing of smartphones

0

After the pandemic caused lockdowns in the country, there has been a huge tension going on between India and China which started with the border conflict recently. This has stirred up the Indian people and government suddenly, who were ardent fans of Chinese tech and obviously smartphones.

More than 75% of smartphones sold in India are from Chinese brands, so Indian Govt hurriedly improved their PLI scheme that would attract a lot of non-Chinese manufacturers like Apple. There’s no brainer that India is a huge smartphone market only after China, so naturally, any and every smartphone manufacturer will like to make more smartphones in India and for Indians.

Apple iPhone 11 production started in India by Foxconn

The millennials in the country are smart enough to buy the best smartphone that offers “value for money” specs, so manufacturers need to cut down costs to make their offerings lucrative. Also, India with its huge population has enough labor support to not only make smartphones for its own country but also export at a huge volume, which only Samsung does mostly.

Well, Samsung and Apple now want to invest more in the country, Samsung already has the biggest smartphone manufacturing plant in the world at Noida. On the other hand, contract manufacturers of Apple – Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron are all trying to make iPhones in the Indian soil to cut down taxes. This will reduce costs to an extent but never remove Chinese OEMs.

India is more budget centric nation which mainly relies on a $200-$300 smartphone range, to be successful in the country, one has to target at that segment. The recent clashes with China have hurt the sentiments of Indians and people are willing to pay more to buy from non-Chinese smartphone brands like Samsung, LG, Nokia, LG, Motorola, and others.

As News18 points out, the union telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad spoke to media on Saturday, August 1, and said that:

“The government has welcomed Apple and Samsung to make the most of India’s local manufacturing benefits, which has extended incentives of up to Rs 41,000 crore subject to meeting local manufacturing targets.”

Indian Govt welcomes Apple & Samsung's effort to boost local manufacturing of smartphones
Samsung smartphone manufacturing plant

Mostly non-Chinese brands are trying to get this benefit and interestingly, note that even though Chinese OEMs made initial noise about its support for the Indian government’s local manufacturing, ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘vocal for local’ initiatives, none have applied for the PLI benefits which the government is stressing on these days.

Xiaomi still holds the lead when it comes to the budget smartphone market, while Samsung trailing behind them, so does the other Chinese brands like Oppo, Vivo, Realme. On the other hand, OnePlus is trying to grab the mid-range market with OnePlus Nord and it already leads the premium smartphone market with OnePlus 8 series.

Next year, 2021 will be even more crucial as India plans to start its 5G trials, so naturally, 5G smartphones is the future, so it will be interesting to see how the market evolves and big non-Chinese players like Samsung, Apple react in the country along with Chinese OEMs including Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Realme.

Barcelona to sell Ivan Rakitic for €10m to his former club Sevilla

The Blaugranas are desperate to sell the Croatian this summer to generate cash and decrease it’s wage bills. So, after a lot of speculations and transfer rumors, Rakitic will most likely be sold to his former club according to Mundo Deportivo.

He has turned 32 recently and he has spoken publicly on more than one occasion that he wants to end his career at Sevilla. Although the question remains whether or not it is this summer when there can be a favorable context for him to return with his family.

Barcelona can announce Neymar today: Rakitic, Dembele to be swapped

He had a lovely time at Seville, where he met his wife, Raquel when he was a member of the Nervión club. So, Seville is the best destination for the Croatian to end his glorious career and what contribution he had to Barcelona for 6 years is immense, so the club respects that. But, they are not interested in renewing his contract which expires next season in 2021.

So, Barcelona will likely to sell him this summer transfer window itself so that they do not lose money but not without the player’s will. So, as MD points out Barça would consider a transfer fee of about 10 million euros for his transfer to Sevilla a good deal. This would approximately be the amount that would be between salary and the previous renewal.

If the Croatian, ends up going to Seville, then that would be a relief for the Barcelona club. Also, the club now has a wide range of young midfielders like Riqui Puig, Monchu, Alena who can step up for Barcelona and as Panic will also land at Camp Nou, the Catalans have to better offload some of their older members to balance things up for the coming season.

The global pandemic leaves a bold impact on every sector. Most of the companies faced losses or lesser profits. Surprisingly, an exception exists and that’s Amazon. This e-commerce giant faces a record amount of profit in its lifetime. After publishing this news, the company’s shares also hiked by 5%.

Due to lockdowns, people switched from offline to online in the case of marketing. In the second quarter demands become so high that Amazon had to hire around 175,000 employees to provide smooth service. The company also said its YOY revenue increased by 40%, to $88.9 billion.

Indian Salers on Amazon exported more than $2 billion worth of goods_TechnoSports.co.in

Earlier, the company itself declared that it might lose money in the Q2 as it needs to spend in sections like sanitization and has to purchase protective equipment for staff, the amount was nearly $4 billion. Fortunately, it successfully recovers more amount than that.

The profit growth is the summation of the gains in every section. In Q2, Amazon’s online store sales hiked by 48% to $45.9 billion, the seller service revenue faced 52% of increment, and the ad revenue increased by 41%. The Amazon Web Service also faced the same positive growth, a hike by 29% to $10.81 billion.

Amazon is expecting a net sales between $87 billion to $93 billion, more than the estimates by analysts ($86.34 billion), in the third quarter of this year. One of the reasons behind this is the Prime Days sale. Though the sale is rescheduled in Q4 for some countries, in India it is going to held on 6th and 7th August.

Redmi 9 Prime specification revealed before August 4 launch

0

As the Amazon Prime Days are coming close Redmi is preparing to launch a special Prime-only smartphone for the Indian customers. We have already told that Xiaomi has planned a new smartphone launch on the Amazon Prime Days sale and it turns out to be the Redmi 9 Prime.

The image shared by the company has already many hints hidden in it. We are here to decode them for you and @stufflistings have also helped to decode them. He also added that the Redmi 9 will come with Green and Grey colour variants and the smartphone will support 18W fast charging as well.

This above tweet from Manu has already made it clear that Redmi 9 Prime will come with an FHD+ display. The company has not revealed the exact full specifications of this device but we expect this to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 9 global variant launched back in June in Spain.

These are the key Specifications of the Redmi 9 global variant.

  • Display- 6.53-inchFHD+
  • Processor- MediaTek Helio G80
  • Front Camera- 8MP
  • Rear Camera- 13MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP
  • RAM- 3/4 GB
  • Storage- 32/64 GB
  • OS- Android 10
  • Battery- 5020mAh

The Amazon listing also shows the Type-C port and a 3.5mm jack at the bottom. The phone will launch on 4th August and maybe priced with Rs.12,000 price range as the previous Redmi 8 was also has such a price range.

Two new OnePlus ‘phones’ surfaced in renders

0

The world has already witnessed the most-awaited and most demanded smartphone from OnePlus last week. We know OnePlus Nord is the first budget smartphone from the company and it is already in high demand according to reports. The phone will be available as early as from August 6 in India on Amazon Prime Day sale. Two different storage and RAM variants with two different colour options. Grab the sale before it’s all gone.

All thanks to one of the most popular tipster Max J., we can see the look-alike design of the upcoming OnePlus mid-range phones that will be another addition to the OnePlus mid-range series after Nord. He emphasized the word “phones”, which clearly indicates that the tipster is absolutely sure about the launch of more than one smartphone.

The phones are codenamed Billie 1 & Billie 2 or commonly known as Aurora. Though we are pretty unsure what will be the exact name of these two devices.

From the image we can see that there are two different smartphones with a glass back, one of which has a dual-rear camera setup and the other one has a triple-rear camera setup around the back. This means these smartphones are going to be even cheaper than the Nord. A few days ago we came across an OnePlus phone where we encountered Snapdragon 690 which is also said to be a 5G compatible SoC.

This image of two different smartphones are not the exact image of the phones but according to Max J., the original phone design will be very similar to this design. SO we have to wait a bit more for more mid-range smartphones to hit the market.
