MediaTek expects its revenues to grow by 22-30% in Q3 2020

0

The Taiwanese chipmaker has been making handsome progress in the Silicon industry with a variety of powerful and efficient chips. It’s latest Helio G series and Dimensity series of chips are driving the smartphone market to a whole new level, people are getting better budget an mid-range devices, thanks to MediaTek even at a lower price than Qualcomm.

Like, in India, the smartphones are under Rs. 12k price category mostly bears MediaTek’s Helio chipsets and in fact, this is the hottest selling price category in the budget-centric country. Obviously, this has helped the sales for the Taiwanese country and a recent report from DigiTimes suggests that MediaTek’s estimated Q3 2020 revenue will be reaching NT$82.5-87.9 billion (US$2.75-2.79 billion) for a 22-30% sequential growth.

MediaTek Dimensity SoC_TechnoSports.co.in

This is an insane amount of revenue for the chipmaker who is slowly and steadily challenging Qualcomm in every segment except flagship. This kind of prediction from the company comes from the unprecedented sales of its chips, particularly because of the Dimensity series 5G SoCs, which are now becoming a natural choice for many mid-range smartphones.

MediaTek has also projected its gross margin at 41.5-44.5% for the third quarter, which is more or less at the same level as that for the second quarter. Coming to some revenue details, in the first half of 2020, MediaTek’s revenues increased by 12.4% while net profits surged by 33.33% with an average gross margin of 43.31%.

The revenue it has generated this year is far beyond expectation in the first half of 2020 and is even expected to witness a minimum annual revenue increase of 15% for the whole year, almost double to that of its original growth projection. The company’s CEO Rick Tsai stated that global shipments of 5G handsets will reach 170-200 million units by the end of 2020 which will ultimately increase Mediatek’s 5G SoC sales in the next quarters of 2020.

Leicester City demand a world record transfer fee from Chelsea for Ben Chilwell

Frank Lampard had a good first season at Chelsea, finishing fourth in the Premier League. He has promoted the youths in the club as Chelsea faced a transfer ban but now as the ban has been lifted Lampard has already signed world-class players like Ziyech and Werner.

Chelsea now has Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell as their next transfer target. He has been a revelation at Leicester City. They finished fifth in the Premier League last season.

But, Leicester City is demanding a world record transfer fee for a defender in order to sell the England international. Last season, Manchester United paid £80million to Leicester for Harry Maguire, which is the current world record transfer fee for a defender.

So, Chelsea will have to pay more than £80million to sign the 23-year-old left back.

Chilwell is also interested in joining the Blues. He sees his future playing at the Stamford Bridge. He wants to cement his place in the England team. Chelsea is already under a building phase, so if Chilwell joins them, he will be able to be a part of a successful era at the club.

Leicester City seems to make it a habit of selling one of their main players each summer since winning the Premier League title in 2016. They have already sold Harry Maguire, Riyad Mahrez, Danny Drinkwater and N’Golo Kante. Now, the next in line is Ben Chilwell.

Chelsea will need to pay a huge amount to sign Chilwell ,which is a huge ask in this time of financial crisis during the Coronavirus pandemic.

There has been a widespread rumour in the last few days that Conte is unhappy at Inter. He was rumoured to leave San Siro after just one season.

Conte was reported to be complaining about the support he got from the club and wanted to join his former club Juventus.

Antonio Conte has now blasted all the rumours. He told ANSA: “Regarding the article published on Repubblica.it today, I categorically deny having spoken to Juventus managers and players asking, ‘but will they fire Sarri?’.”

“I will sue who wrote this article and the editor in charge of the newspaper.”

“I committed to a three-year project at Inter and as I have always done, I will work hard and fight with all my strength and with all that is in my possibilities to create a successful project.”

Conte has been doing a wonderful job at Inter. They finished second in Serie A just 1 point behind winners Juventus. Inter has also been smart in the transfer market. Conte clearly knows what he needs to do to guide the team in the right direction.

He has now confirmed he will be At San Siro atleast for the next two seasons. So Inter will rise once again, in all probability.

Jadon Sancho finally agree to join Manchester United on a five-year deal

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has been a long term target for Manchester United. It seems finally, they have got their guy.

According to a report by Sky Sports, Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Sancho for a five-year deal. The only discussion remaining is how United are going to pay the transfer fee to Dortmund.

The England international is one of the brightest young talents in world football. He scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists in 32 Bundesliga matches last season. It speaks volumes of his world-class ability.

Borussia Dortmund value Jadon Sancho at €120m and are not ready to compromise on that. The only thing they would consider is accepting a less amount as an initial fee and then receiving the remaining amount later. They are looking to accept in a region of €100m upfront.

Dortmund also had this same transfer policy in place for Ousmane Dembele in 2017 when Barcelona signed him. They wanted €140m but instead settled for €105m plus add-ons which equalled to almost €140m.

mbappe sancho Jadon Sancho finally agree to join Manchester United on a five-year deal

Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs told: “Sancho is quick, direct but also an intelligent player. What I like about him is when he gets into those areas with the final ball, he doesn’t panic. A lot of quick wide players sometimes do but he picks out the right pass.”

“He’s someone who can counter-attack if we’re going to play that but also if a team are going to sit back, he can beat players and make things happen.”

The new-look Manchester United attack could prove to be lethal. Rashford, Martial and Sancho leading the frontline and then Greenwood coming off the bench. The attackers ably supported by Bruno Fernandes and Pogba. United could finally be on the rise for the first time since Alex Ferguson left.

Pedri, Trincao, Aleñá, Oriol and Matheus to join Barca next week for training

0

FC Barcelona is getting some of the best young talents next week, among them two of them being their new signings whereas the others will return from their loans. According to Sport, Pedri, Trincao, Aleñá and, Oriol Busquets and Matheus Fernandes will be making their ways to Barcelona and eventually start a round of pre-season training.

Obviously, the first team will not be playing then and most probably be in Lisbon playing the Champions League games which in turn will give players to settle into the club. The pre-season will mostly depend on how much time the Champions League take to end and also idea of Barca is that footballers enjoy their holidays.

via Tribuna.com

The club also does not want to give too long a period of inactivity as the next season is already knocking on the doors so the signings and players on loan will have to work solo during the month of August. Then, after the first team finishes the Champions League and their short holiday period they can start a mini-pre-season to start the new 2020/21 season.

Both Pedri and Trincao are the two most most exciting signings this season, who have their worth to prove by showing their worth to play at the Camp Nou. On the other hand, Aleña will be back in the first team after a good loan period at Real Betis.

While both Matheus Fernandes and Oriol Busquets would be playing the pre-season with the first team waiting to find a destination. Sport also reckons that Oriol Busquets has several First Division offers and even Matheus Fernandes has gained a lot of interest in Monaco, so their stay at the club will depend on their pre-season show undoubtedly.

Manchester United and Inter finally agree on Alexis Sanchez transfer

Alexis Sanchez became a misfit at Manchester United following his transfer from Arsenal. His injury was one of the reasons behind his misfiring at Old Trafford. He is the highest-earning player at United and they wanted to get rid of him.

Inter signed him on loan last season. During the first half of the season, he was still adjusting in Serie A. After the Coronavirus break, the Chilean has been back to his prolific form, which has urged inter to sign him permanently.

Many United fans were hoping he would come back as they were impressed by his late form. But it seems Manchester United and Inter Milan have already agreed on Sanchez’s transfer.

Alexis Sanchez will now join Inter on a free transfer for three years and they will pay his full salary, which is €7m per season.

Manchester United would probably make a loss from this transfer but they would be relieved to get Sanchez’s huge salary off their wage bill.

Even if Sanchez returned to United, Solskajer would have probably not played him. So it’s better for everyone this way.

AMD facing supply shortages with Ryzen 4000 APUs? XPG says so

0

There’s a new story that has surfaced up recently, thanks to Igor’s Lab, a new Reddit post from official XPG support forum i.e. with the XPG_gg brand account, says that AMD is facing Ryzen 4000 APU shortages which are hurting manufacturers. XPG has even pointed out that their specific supply shortage lies with the Ryzen 7 4800H which can take as long as the end of September.

“on July 31 we received an announcement from our ODM that we are facing a serious CPU shortage from AMD in Q3 2020. Large orders that have recently been confirmed to be shipped from our ODM in the middle and end of August are now supposed to be delayed until the end of September.”

The AMD Ryzen 7 4800H in Asus TUF Gaming laptop defeats the Intel Core i9-9980HK

The Reddit post seems legitimate as it seems to be from an XPG employee and an official account. This type of post on a forum tells how much bad situation XPG is, or else they wouldn’t have openly come out to blame AMD. 7nm has gone crazy and AMD itself has admitted the fact how much notebook sales have contributed to their massive Q2 2020 earnings.

Among all other APUs, the Ryzen 7 4800H has been the most demanded one because of its extreme performance at a cheaper price, giving a better price than costlier Intel Core i9-9980H as well. Also, these AMD APUs surprisingly draw less power because not only because of the 7nm process but also the optimizations they have done with their Zen 2 microarchitecture.

“This is explained by a serious uptick in demand from larger brands and by what we assume bottlenecks in AMD’s production capacities.

Why new AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile processors are best when it comes to content creation?

Upon receiving this news on Friday (July 31), we reached out to our corporate contacts in AMD who confirmed that this is an industry-wide shortage and there is no way around it. We currently have an order backlog with our ODM on Ryzen 7 4800H of over 1600 units. Both AMD and our ODM have confirmed that our demand has been allocated (meaning: we will get those CPUs), but the goods won’t reach our ODM before End of September.”

XPG has also explained its customers by giving a closer look at the industry background and ultimately apologizing to their customers for the delay and they are telling to go for Ryzen 5 400H instead. This situation resonates with Dr. Lisa Su previously saying that they are “tight on 7nm” and they have to rely on TSMC for its stocks.

AMD is growing bigger but not a giant like Intel, who has its own production line, or NVIDIA, who has the capital to book months of orders beforehand. Obviously, Ryzen 4000 was a bet by AMD which has driven the market crazy which means more and more demand from buyers and massive orders from various OEMs but meeting demand is very hard especially if you rely on a third party chip maker like TSMC.

CES 2020: AMD Ryzen 4000H gaming processors with up to 8 cores/16 threads launched

It’s because of the supply constraints, AMD has not launched the Ryzen 4000G APUs for desktops whereas kept it OEM exclusive for now. But the company has to do something to meet its huge demands, as we see there’s a deficit in AMD powered laptops in the market and we are not seeing a lot of launches in recent months.

Now this situation can bring inflation in prices as both demand and supply seems disturbed, XPG also openly said that:

“We are going to review all of our pricing this week to reflect the new situation. Naturally, under the law of supply and demand, AMD’s pricing should go up. This is not entirely final yet.”

OEMs and manufacturers are actually more uncertain because of the situation, last year, if we remember there was a similar kind of situation with Ryzen 3000 CPUs, almost 1-2 months there was inflation in prices because of low supply. Hopefully, the Red team will do something to keep its fans satisfied and provide these extraordinary Renoir APUs at promised prices.

What do you think about AMD’s nm supply constraint? Tell us in the comments below… 😎
