Manchester City have become the most valuable football club

Manchester City owners have received an investment of $500m.

Manchester City have now become the world’s most valued football club, going ahead of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.

Manchester City are owned by the City Football Group(CFG). CFG’s main owner is Abu Dhabi United Group. A Chinese consortium led by China Media Capital purchased around 12-13 %per cent in December 2015. They had 87% and 13% stakes in the business respectively.

The CFG have now sold another 10% stake of their ownership group at $500million to Silver Lake, a United States-based private equity firm. The other partners now have around 77% and 13% respectively.

The City Football Group (CFG) is now valued at £3.74bn. Other than Manchester City, CFG owns or has shares in MLS side New York City, A-League club Melbourne City, Girona in Spain, Uruguayan outfit Club Atletico Torque, J.League leaders Yokohama F. Marinos and China League Two team Sichuan Jiuniu.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Pep Guardiola

CFG chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said in a statement: “Silver Lake is a global leader in technology investing, and we are delighted by both the validation that their investment in CFG represents and the opportunities for further growth that their partnership brings.
We and Silver Lake share the strong belief in the opportunities being presented by the convergence of entertainment, sports and technology and the resulting ability for CFG to generate long-term growth and new revenue streams globally.”

ISL club Mumbai City to join the network of CFG

With this new investment, CFG are likely to increase their portfolio from seven clubs to eight. It is expected that Indian Super League team Mumbai City will join the network in due course. It will be a huge boost for Indian football.

Lionel Messi has informed Neymar about the time of his Barcelona exit

Messi will be leaving Barcelona and he has discussed this with his former teammate Neymar.

Lionel Messi has been a one-club man in this era of football riches. His loyalty to Barcelona is unquestionable.

It’s hard to imagine a Barcelona side without Messi. But the magician will turn 33 in 2021 and maybe that is when he will be leaving Barcelona.

Messi has been omnipresent in Barcelona. Many great players have come and gone like Ronaldinho, Neymar but Messi has always been there for the Blaugrana.

messi

According to a sensational story by France Football, who claim to have seen a very interesting WhatsApp conversation between Messi and his former Barcelona team-mate Neymar. The conversation is supposed to have taken place last season after Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool. Messi is said to have urged Neymar to leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to Camp Nou last summer.

Messi is alleged to have told his former Barcelona teammate: “Only together can we win the Champions League.
I want you to come back. In two years, I’m leaving, and you’ll be alone, you’ll take my place.”

neymar

Neymar left Barcelona in a world-record fee of €222million to PSG in the summer of 2017. It is said that he left Barcelona to escape Messi’s shadow.

But now, as it seems that Messi is planning to leave Barcelona in 2 years, he wants the Brazilian back at Camp Nou to take his place.

Neymar also wanted a return to Camp Nou last season but the transfer did not fell through and now he is still a PSG player.

PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel told France Info about Neymar: “[It’s] not easy at all! He has a big, big heart, but unfortunately, he doesn’t always show that he’s a generous, reliable boy. Sometimes he’s provocative and it’s a great pity because it’s not necessary.”

“I tell him. We laugh a lot together and I always try to tell the truth. He accepts it, but it’s hard. Ney is provocative when he feels something is wrong, but he isn’t when he is calm.”

messi neymar

Neymar has not played many games for PSG this season due to injury and Thomas Tuchel has benched him for the last few matches. So, Neymar’s transfer speculation is going to rise again to the surface.

But whether Neymar does end up going back or not, it’s more important to realise we may have only less than two more years left of Messi at Barcelona. So enjoy the magician in action, while it lasts.

The overclockable AMD Athlon 3000G proves its worth at benchmarks

0

It’s been few weeks or so AMD has announced its new entry-level CPU which is the successor to the very popular Athlon 200GE. Specs remain almost the same with some minor upgrades like the new 12nm architecture, base/boost clock speed of 3.5 GHz.

There’s the same Vega 3 graphics with 3 graphics core while the GPU clock speed has been increased to 1,100 MHz. It packs in 1MB of L2 and 4MB of L3 cache, and it has the same 35W TDP, also features the same AM4 socket motherboard support.

The best part of the new APU is that it is unlocked and honestly getting overclockable support for a budget CPU is just amazing. If somehow the Athlon 3000G be overclocked to 4 GHz, this $49 APU can challenge Intel’s costlier Pentium G5400 and G5600 CPUs.

Ryzen CPUs work better with faster RAMs and so the new Athlon supports DDR4-3200 memory like its Ryzen brothers making the performance better overall. According to TechSpot’s review, if the APU is overclocked you can expect 10% better performance which is pretty decent.

According to the single thread benchmarks we see the Athlon 3000G lagging behind the costlier Intel counterparts and gives a stiff competition to both the Pentium G4560 and G5400. In graphical and product workloads there is no competition at this low budget for the Athlon APU.

Coming to 720p gaming, we see the Athlon 3000G performing better than its predecessor and crushing the Intel Pentium CPUs and even the Core i3-8100 but falling behind the Ryzen APUs.

Things become interesting when the APU is overclocked to 4 GHz, we see this dual-core APU beating the Core i3-7100! So we can conclude one thing that AMD yet again has brought a value king to the market and unlocked it for us to get the maximum juice out of it.

As soon as the APU arrives in India it will be available at our own online store, watch this space for the buying link.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

0

When the market is flooded with powerful budget smartphones from Realme and Xiaomi, the Chinese handset maker makes a bold move this time. Even though we all know that Vivo launched the Vivo U10 just a month ago or so with great specs, the handset maker has already announced the Vivo U20.

The new Vivo U20 will strengthen Vivo’s budget segment of the smartphone, which most of them are overpriced (as they are offline specific ones). This new smartphone will be available via Amazon & Vivo store only like the previous Vivo U10.

The predecessor of this smartphone was one of the best one under Rs.10k category with great specs like Snapdragon 665, 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support and offering 4+64GB variant with dedicated microSD card support. The U10 excelled in most of the departments but yes according to our review the display quality was not great.

With the U20, Vivo wants to capture the budget smartphone segment and correct the flaws left by its predecessor. So, here are the 5 reasons to buy the new smartphone:

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

1. FHD+ Display & Good Design

One of the major disadvantages of the Vivo U10 was its HD+ display and Vivo has upgraded it to a 6.35-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels along with a pixel density of 395 PPI.

The display has a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio along with the much required Widevine L1 license for streaming Netflix & Amazon Prime Video in HD. The design seems a look-alike of the Realme 3 Pro with the same gradient design back and looks decent enough.

2. Qualcomm Snapdragon 675

This smartphone is a true power-packed one with the best in this segment Snapdragon 675 based on 11nm process. Even though it is a last year’s chip but truly powerful for budget centric smartphones as it comes with a clock speed of 2GHz.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

The Snapdragon 675 provides 25% better performance than the Snapdragon 665 making a better choice for performance seekers. On the GPU front, you get the capable Adreno 612 GPU to handle your prolong gaming sessions.

3. UFS 2.1 Storage + 6GB RAM

The Rs.12k model packs a huge 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage. With 6GB of RAM, you can play games at a breeze and install lots of apps also never worry about slowdowns as the UFS 2.1 storage gives 68% better speed than the regular eMMC storage.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

4. 5000mAh Battery with 18W Fast Charge

The thing that has not changed with the new model is the massive 5000mAh battery that can be charged easily with a bundled 18W fast charger. Also, the Vivo U20 has the modern USB Type-C port for faster data transfer.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

5. Upgraded Camera

Another big change that you can get at Rs.2k difference between the previous Vivo U10 and the new Vivo U20 is the upgraded camera module for both front and back. The rear camera packs an upgraded triple camera setup with a 16MP primary Sony IMX499 lens with f/1.78 aperture, a secondary wide-angle 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a macro 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

There are lot of camera features and hopefully, you can get decent photos with the smartphone obviously not as crisp as the Redmi Note 8 or Realme 5s. Also, the 8MP front camera has been upgraded with a 16MP camera lens with f/2.0 aperture.

5 reasons to buy the new Vivo U20 with Snapdragon 675 at Rs.10,990

The new Vivo U20 is available at an attractive price of Rs.10,990 for the base 4+64GB variant whereas the 6+64GB variant will just cost Rs.11,990. The first sale of the smartphone starts on November 28th at 12 PM.

10-core 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPU spotted on Geekbench

0

The upcoming 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPUs are the result of Intel’s another generation of “tick-tock” procedure over its age-old 14nm architecture. Squeezing out the maximum from its 14nm node Intel is currently focussing to meet customer demand as its facing shortage of 14nm nodes in the procedure of making 10nm nodes, which also seems in trouble especially for desktop Ice Lake lineup.

To fight with its even-more powerful competitor AMD, Intel has no option but releasing the new CPUs based on their age-old architecture. In 2020, Intel seems to bring these new Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs to the limelight and as per leaks, Intel will go from 4 cores to all the way up to 10 cores.

Intel officially announces 10th Gen Comet Lake Processors based on 14nm

Previously we got some benchmark leaks of 14nm Comet Lake Intel Core i7-10710U CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads. Now we got some leaks of Core i5 and the alleged Core i9 model with 10-cores and 20-threads. The Geekbench 4 leaks show these CPUs to have a timid clock speed and possibly these are early-stage engineering samples.

To answer AMD’s monstrous 12 core and 16 core CPUs, Intel will debut with 10 cores for the first time for commercial CPUs. As the market needs more and more performance, its obvious Intel had to introduce a 10 core CPU to meet the performance race.

10-core 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPU spotted on Geekbench

According to the Geekbench entries, we see 6 core CPU features a base clock speed of 1.99GHz and a mere boost clock of 2.89GHz. The cache has also bumped up, now with 384 KB L1 cache, 1.5 MB L2 cache, and 12 MB of L3 cache.

10-core 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S CPU spotted on Geekbench

The alleged 10 core/ 20 thread which is supposed to the 10th Gen Core i9 has a base clock speed of 1.51GHz and a slightly increased boost clock of 3.19GHz. The cache has been increased to 640 KB of L1 cache, 2.5 MB of L2 cache and 20 MB of L3 cache.

These new CPUs feature Intel’s new UHD Graphics 630 iGPUs and the graphics core frequency is higher on the 10-core (1.2 GHz) compared to the 6-core (1.15 GHz). Even though these are early engineering samples, we get a fair idea about these upcoming 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs.
