Since US president Joe Biden took over the Oval Office, he has to deal with many underlying issues. Starting with improving his countries stand on environmental issues to fighting the growing threat of the coronavirus pandemic and vaccine shortage. It seems Biden has his hands tied up.
Recently, the US president managed to escape a very delicate situation between undermining intellectual property rights or dealing a politically toxic blow to his climate agenda. It was brought forth by the dispute between two South Korean electric vehicle battery makers. It seems that both the tech manufacturers were having a dispute over trade with the United States.
Both the companies settled and it was agreed that SK Innovation Co. will pay 2 trillion won ($1.8 billion) to LG Energy Solution, a unit of LG Chem Ltd. The payment is divided equally in cash and royalties.
The two companies released a joint statement that they, “will work to help the development of EV battery industry in South Korea and the U.S. through healthy competition and friendly cooperation. In particular, we will work together to strengthen the battery network and environmentally-friendly policy that the Biden administration is pursuing.”
The companies had been in dispute for over two years and finally ended with the settlement that averts a 10-year import ban of SK Innovation’s batteries into the U.S. The ban, if imposed, would have threatened to complicate the rollout of Ford Motor Co.’s new F-150 electric pickup truck and the Volkswagen AG’s ID.4 SUV. Since both, the companies import their EV batteries assembled at an SK Innovation plant in politically important Georgia.
The dispute was a grave and political matter because the ban threatened to jeopardize as many as 6,000 battery manufacturing jobs in Georgia, prompting the intervention by the US president. Both, SK and LG have agreed to withdraw all lawsuits lodged in South Korea and overseas and agreed not to undertake any legal action against each other for the next 10 years.
“A voluntary settlement between these two suppliers is ultimately in the best interest of U.S. manufacturers and workers.”
Kevin De Bruyne recently negotiated a contract extension with Manchester City, with the new contract tying the player down to the Etihad until 2025. The new contract is expected to pay out a sum worth £400,000 per week and the deal was negotiated without an agent from Kevin De Bruyne’s end.
A recent finding shows that by agreeing to the deal on his own, De Bruyne has saved himself £8 million. This is because the contract is worth about £83 million and the agent, if any, would have to be paid 10% of the fees which would amount to the figure that has been saved by De Bruyne.
Patrick De Koster was the former financial advisor for Kevin De Bruyne, but the agent had a falling out with the Belgian due to a legal struggle. The reason behind it being a number of financial discrepancies by De Koster that forced the player to call the cops.
De Bruyne senior employed the services of a team of legal experts from Brussels-based law firm Altius to finalise the small details with City after his son had agreed his own salary package.
Considering Altius charges £500 for an hour of work, De Bruyne will have to pay out £50,000 which is much lesser than what he would have to sacrifice if an agent was in charge instead. All talks between Manchester City and Altius were held via Zoom due to the COVID pandemic hindering operations.
We all know that Apple and Epic Games have been involved in a dispute that seems to have involved many big tech giants in it like Microsoft. However, to bolster its chances of winning the lawsuit, it seemed that the game development company has also filed the lawsuit against the Cupertino giant in other countries as well.
According to the source, Australia’s courts have also been dragged in the lawsuit, and it seems that the Fortnite developer is not losing any chance of getting a favorable ruling. However, in Australia, things weren’t looking to go any time in favor of the game developer.
The justice overseeing the case decided that he would let the two companies battle it out in the United States. According to sources, the Australian case has stayed for three months. For anything to move forward, Epic Games has to file a lawsuit in California alleging Australian Consumer Law violations.
The Australian judge wants Epic to file its Australian case in the United States, where Judge Gonzalez Rogers is overseeing the U.S. dispute. Epic Games has three months to file the Australian lawsuit in California, and if that doesn’t happen, the Australian case will permanently stay. If the case is filed, Gonzalez Rogers needs to try the case under U.S. law and then Australian law.
However, if the American judge declines to determine any verdict against the violation of the Australian law, Epic can appeal, but an appeal won’t be heard until November at the earliest.
In a statement, Epic Games stated that “We remain committed to our fight for increased competition on digital platforms in Australia and around the world. Australian consumers have the right to install apps from the sources they choose and avoid paying excessive prices for apps. We will continue supporting the Australian government and regulators in their pursuit of fair competition in mobile app marketplaces.”
iQOO 7 was launched in China back in January and the Legendary Edition is designed in partnership with BMW M Motorsport. It has a white back panel with stripes of the BMW M Motorsport logo and a “Fascination meets Innovation” slogan. The company has officially revealed that they are going to launch the iQOO 7 Legend smartphone which is similar to the above-mentioned smartphone in India very soon.
According to a new leak, the iQOO 7 will be equipped with two chipsets, which are most likely the Snapdragon 870 and the Pixelwork’s IRIS 5 Display Chip. Well if you think this is absurd and how can a smartphone have chipsets at the same time, then hold on a second. As per the tipster, “Display chip w/ MEMC will increase frame rate & also re-construct low quality images to HDR ones, improving gaming experience.” Yes, this is a dedicated display chipset that will be available in this device and is going to be the only one in this price segment to feature this.
The company is already launching the Snapdragon 888 featured iQOO 7 Legend in India with some altered specifications and that might justify the affordable price range it has been put on. It is still unknown when the company is going to launch the device and how many devices will be launched at the same time.
AMD’s Ryzen 5000G Cezane desktop APUs are finally on the verge of being released in the market, and we seem to get more and more benchmark info about the upcoming processor cards from Advanced Micro Devices.
According to fresh sources, the Ryzen 7 5700G live image and some benchmark data were shared on the Chiphell forum (via VideoCardz). We also know from GPU-Z scan that the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G also has the Radeon Vega 8 Graphics.
According to the leak, the GPU has a configuration of 512:32:8 (unified shaders/texture mapping units/ROPs). It has the same specifications as the Ryzen 7 4700G’s integrated GPU. Also, the Renoir chip’s Vega 8 has a base clock rate of 2.1 GHz, the newer Cezanne SKU’s graphics processor is measured at 2.0 GHz.
From the benchmark, we found that the CPU had a decent performance. It recorded amazing 631.3 points (single thread) and 6,782 points (multithread) on CPU-Z. Going by the scores, we found that the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is +16.69% ahead in single-thread processing and +16.78% up in multi-thread testing over its Renoir predecessor.
Owing to the global chip crisis and the increase in demand for high-performance chips, if the CPU ends up as official purchase models, they will suffer the same faith as the now released CPUs and GPUs. However, if AMD decided to launch the Cezanne chips as OEM only then, it would be a completely different story.
The Red team announced its Ryzen 5000 series processors last year based on their new Zen 3 architecture, and we were very fortunate to review all of them till now. Today we have got the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X with us that is said to be the gaming champion of the CPU market.
Featuring 12 Zen 3 cores, this 7 nm-based CPU is a great contender for both gaming & productivity. The redesigned cache, new core layout, and a lot of new improvements have helped AMD to beat Intel or get close to them in single-core performance.
Even Intel’s new Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs cannot give better gaming performance on average with AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900X while costing more and the Core i9-1100K featuring 4 fewer cores. So, the choice for both gamers and productivity-centric people is simple these days – AMD!
However, getting the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is a really tough affair but worth battling for if you need those 12 exceptional Zen 3 cores. Or, if you need just gaming performance, you can look out for both the Ryzen 7 5800X and the Ryzen 5 5600X processors which are available widely now.
The least available CPU at moment has to be the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, which we also reviewed; however, honestly, it depends on your usage and needs. Even though we will make a dedicated article on which CPU you should opt for, we will talk about the gaming champion AMD Ryzen 9 5900X.
The CPU was tested at around 30 degrees Celsius room temperature, and at that, performance seems to be incredible. I used Windows 10 Pro version 20H2(build 19402) for the test, and here are the results I got at stock:
Cinebench R15
The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X scores a nice 3426 points behind by few points than the might Ryzen 95950X’s 4080 points in the most loved Cinebench R15 benchmark. All the 12 cores and 24 threads do make a difference in multi-threaded scores.
Cinebench R20
When Dr. Lisa showed the Cinebench R20 results on-stage during the Ryzen 5000 series launch, we were blown away by the performance, and indeed it is so when it powers your system. The 12-core monster also makes a huge difference and shows what this new Zen 3 architecture is capable of.
In single-core, you get a good score of 620 points, and when it comes to multi-threading, the Ryzen processor flexes its muscles to score a nice 7917 points.
So, for productivity work, you have an absolute monster, and if you need more horsepower, you can also opt for the Ryzen 9 5950X with 16 cores, scoring 9347 points in multi-threading.
Cinebench R23
The Ryzen 9 5900X scores a good 20,386 points in multi-core whereas scoring as much as 1599 points in single-core, the highest recorded score ever in single-thread by any Ryzen CPU. This kind of single-core score was never seen before, and it already beats out the Tiger Lake Core i7-1165G7 in single-core.
Gone are the days you had to pay a ransom amount for HPC workloads, and these new Ryzen 9 CPUs are just insane; the Ryzen 9 5950X has scored an out-of-the-world 23,992 points in multi-core, so all in all, any of these Ryzen 9 processors is a good choice.
Geekbench 5
While in Geekbench 5, the Ryzen 9 5900X tears apart the competition’s x86 desktop CPU out there, scoring 1669 points in single-core and 11,568 points in multi-threaded tests.
This is the kind of performance you can expect from a 12-core monster; however, it performs similar to the Ryzen 9 3900X in multi-core with marginal improvements; however, the main improvement you notice is in the single-core performance, helping a lot during gaming.
CPU-Z
In the CPU-Z benchmark also the Ryzen 9 5900X shows its power over every other CPU in the stack and manages to score 667 points in single-core as well as scoring 9342 points in multi-threaded tests.
This makes the new AMD Ryzen 9 5900X about 25% faster than the last-gen Ryzen 9 3950X in CPU-Z single-core test, whereas only 14% slow in the multi-core test even though the Ryzen 9 5900X has 4 fewer cores. Well, for high-end desktop workloads, both the new Ryzen 9 5900X and the Ryzen 9 5950X are great contenders.
PCMark 10
When paired with the flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT, the Ryzen 9 5900X sets new records. This killer combo manages to grab the PCMark 10 score of 7,993 points while managing a Productivity score of 8,900 points and a phenomenal score of 14,946 points in Digital Content Creation.
So, if you are someone looking to build a high-performance PC, the Ryzen 9 5900X is the ultimate choice we can recommend you.
3DMark Time Spy & Time Spy Extreme
So, having paired this CPU with the flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT, in 3DMark’s popular Time Spy benchmark, we see a strong performance of this processor.
Actually, the benchmark determines how good the system is for modern-day games, and as you see, you get a phenomenal 16,361 Time Spy Score; kudos to the 10,720 points scored by the Ryzen 9 5900X.
The story continues even in the Time Spy Extreme benchmark where we see the combo again performing at its peak, scoring a total of 8,402 Time Spy Extreme score.
Thanks to the new Zen 3 architecture, we see a huge uplift in gaming and single-core performance that makes the CPU great for both productivity and gaming.
3DMark Fire Strike Ultra
The sheer performance of this beast continues even in our final benchmark as well. In 3DMark’s Fire Strike Ultra test, the Ryzen 9 5900X managed to score an impressive 33,930 points as Physics Score.
In all of the benchmarks one thing is clear that much like its Ryzen 5000 series brothers, the Ryzen 9 5900X also delivers superior CPU performance in both single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads.
So, be it applications like Premier Pro or Photoshop or Blender or Autodesk any CPU demanding application, you can easily expect these CPUs to shine.
Gaming benchmarks
Previously, gaming wasn’t a strong point for AMD, but things have changed within a year; now, with Zen 3 architecture, you can expect top-of-the-line performance from the gaming champion Ryzen 9 5900X. Dubbed to be the best gaming processor in the market, the 12-core monster lives up to its words.
So, using the Radeon RX 6900 XT as our GPU to test this gaming processor, we have indeed used AMD’s heavily branded Smart Access Memory feature, and it does make a huge difference. Here are the benchmarks of all the modern games at different settings with SAM turned on:
Assassins Creed Valhalla
Borderlands 3
Control
Cyberpunk 2077
Far Cry New Dawn
FIFA 21
Minecraft Dungeons
NFS Heat
Shadow of The Tomb Raider
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
Watch Dogs Legion
In all of the above-mentioned 11 games, we see the combo delivering the absolute best 4K and a 1440p gaming experience. Also, AMD’s Smart Access Memory gives a minor advantage to the combo as well; you can enable it for free if you have both a Ryzen CPU and a new Radeon RX 6000 series GPU.
From the CPU side, you see the Ryzen 9 5900X just gives the best performance you can ask for, now depending upon your GPU you can still expect 4K 60 FPS gaming with most of the new GPUs like RTX 3080, RX 6800 series, and RX 6900 XT.
Verdict
Even though good the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X might be, getting your hands-on with it is a tough job, but AMD is improving stocks with days. So, if you get it at its MSRP, then it’s a no-brainer; you should definitely go for this 12-core gaming beast that delivers incredible multi-threaded performance as well.
It is the best CPU currently for gaming and there’s no doubt in that, drawing less power than Intel’s latest flagship Core i9-11900K and has 4 extra cores for your advantage. So, getting an 8-core chip makes no sense but if you want one get the Ryzen 7 5800X which is widely available.
Overall, AMD has made the Zen 3 architecture incredible. The 7nm advantage continues as all of these Ryzen 5000 series processors generate less heat and draw less power, which means great CPU for using it for years down the road.
Undoubtedly, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is a good processor, easy to recommend, and powerful to use.
Apple’s TV+ is certainly amazing but let’s admit, it doesn’t have much high-profile content when compared to other OTT platforms. As of now, the service doesn’t have many high-profile films. The ones it does have are only a handful of ones including “Palmer,” “Cherry,” and “Greyhound.”
However, it seems that the Cupertino giant has decided to increase the number of high-profile movies which its OTT platform will boast, and also it believes that the increased number will help in increasing the number of its subscribers.
According to sources, the Cupertino giant stated that it is aiming to do more than 10 to 12 original movies per year for Apple TV+, which would let it better compete with other streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max.
On other notes, the company has also hired Jessie Henderson, who was previously the executive vice president of feature films for the HBO Max streaming service, to improve their standing. She will join the Apple TV+ team run by Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, reporting to Matt Dentler, an Apple TV+ executive who handles original films.
Apple’s TV+ is relatively new and is yet to fully mature. As far as feature movies go, it is a desperate effort by the OTT platform to bolster the service and make it more attractive to subscribers. Apple is still giving people who buy a new device a free year of service, and those who originally redeemed that free year when Apple TV+ launched on November 19 continue to have access at no cost as Apple continues to extend the trial period.
Real Madrid completed the league double over arch-rivals Barcelona in the 264th EL Clasico to push themselves up to the top of the La Liga table. This victory sees the Blaugrana fall only a point behind Madrid in the race for the title, but it was an important victory nonetheless and could be the match to seal the title in their favor.
Karim Benzema opened the scoring early with a fabulous backheel finish following a cross from Lucas Vasquez to continue his red hot form. Toni Kroos then doubled the lead for Madrid from a free-kick situation. The ball struck the wall and was accidentally headed in by Jordi Alba, who could barely move considering the pace with which the German struck the ball.
Barcelona managed to pull one back thanks to Oscar Mingueza’s tap-in finish, following a slick delivery from the left flank, but it was not enough to salvage even a point from the game.
Lionel Messi almost scored from a corner, but the Argentinian was denied arguably the greatest goal in Clasico history by the post. And that would prove to be the case throughout the night, with the visitors striking the framework on multiple occasions. Most notably, Ilaix Moriba hit the post right at the death, which took away Barcelona’s chances of leveling the scoring.

Madrid had to fight hard to win against their rivals amidst the lashing rain that came down midway through the match and continued till the end. Casemiro was sent off for accumulating two yellows at the 90th minute but it was too late for Barcelona to capitalize.
Google the world’s most famous search engine has everything a user requires but it also has a lot of irritating features. Did you know that Google can track our location whenever we browse and also that it precisely knows a lot about us than our friends do? You might have wondered has to how exactly the search engine giant makes money. Well, Google makes most of its money by displaying advertisements.
According to recent information, Google has started a new technology that will replace its third-party cookies.
But Google’s rival DuckDuckGo is already announcing that it wants to block that technology from Google with its chrome extension. However, Google states that the new technology is designed to be a more privacy-centered way to track users and display the advertisement to them. But, some privacy organizations like the Electronic Frontier Foundation, have claimed that it could be harmful to consumers.
According to sources, the tech works to sort users into groups based on their behavior. Advertisers can then target those groups instead of individual people. However, privacy organization states that FLoC IDs could still be bad for consumers, containing potentially sensitive information as well as providing another data point that lets advertisers individually identify you.
But, addressing the concern, DuckDuckGo announced that the latest version of its Chrome extension would prevent websites from tracking users via their FLoC identification. However, the search engine also stated that it will require approval from Google to release its extension.
DuckDuckGo taking a stand against Google’s new technology isn’t anything new. Since the main selling point of the search engine is users’ privacy DuckDuckGo will always advocate to protect users who don’t want to be tracked. Google’s technology isn’t even out of the testing phase yet, and other companies are already looking to block it.
