Sergio Ramos scored his 100th career goals. For a defender, Sergio Ramos’ goalscoring record is phenomenal but there are other defenders with more goals. Lets have a look at all of them.
The Real Madrid captain bagged the 100th goal of his career by scoring against Leganes in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey meeting at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Of the century, 80 have come for Real Madrid, three for Sevilla and 17 for Spain, making him the European centre-back with the most international goals.
To mark his 100th goal, Ramos converted a penalty, as he has done on many occasions. He then celebrated with a gesture that recognised the milestone. His first came on September 16, 2004, when he netted for Sevilla.
Right now, Sergio Ramos is among the foremost figures when speaking about the goal-scoring defenders, but he is not even among the top 10 of the highest of all time. Who are, then? Lets find out.
RONALD KOEMAN (253 GOALS) He is the ultimate goal-scoring defender of all time. The former Holland international was regularly used as a sweeper and thus afforded license to get forward, while he also took penalties and free-kicks for many of his clubs. Koeman once scored 26 goals in a season for PSV, before finding the net 19 times for Barcelona in both 1989/90 and 1993/94. His most important effort for the Blaugrana came in 1991/92, when the Dutchman’s 112th-minute free-kick won the Catalans their first ever European Cup against Sampdoria. In a career that saw him win many trophies, he contributed by scoring a record 253 goals, making him the highest scoring defender of all time. And it seems unlikely that anyone can ever break the bar set by him.
DANIEL PASSARELLA (175 GOALS) If either Diego Maradona or Lionel Messi is the greatest attacking player Argentina have ever produced, there’s no doubt that Passarella is the South American nation’s foremost defender. They say that short players are not supposed to make good defenders, but Daniel Passarella breaks that convention into a million pieces. Despite being 5’8”, he had an astounding ability to score from headers. He was the perfect epitome of a defender: good tackler, intelligent, and a leader at the back. It was under captaincy of the ex-River Plate and Fiorentina centre-back that Argentina won the 1978 World Cup. He scored a mammoth 175 goals in his glorious career.
FERNANDO HIERRO (163 GOALS) While Iker Casillas might have been Spain’s most successful captain, Fernando Hierro was certainly its grittiest one. His determination and courage made him revered among the fan base of even rival Barcelona and, to this day, Madrid couldn’t find a true replacement for their former captain. It was not only his leadership or defensive skills that made him a fort at the back, but it was his ability to score from nowhere as he was a great header of the ball and was the primary spot-kick and free-kick taker at the club. In his radiant career, he scored 163 goals to become Spain’s best ever goal-scoring defender.
LAURENT BLANC (153 GOALS) Eric Cantona, Roger Milla and Olivier Giroud all played for Montpellier, but Blanc is the club’s all-time leading scorer after netting 80 times in 263 games between 1983 and 1991. He came through as an attacking midfielder in his early days and many of his goals came from the penalty spot, but he also took the odd free-kick – including a brilliant curler in Montpellier’s 1990 Coupe de France triumph over RC Paris. Blanc’s most memorable open-play effort was the golden goal which sent France through to the last eight of the 1998 World Cup at the expense of Paraguay.
GRAHAM ALEXANDER (130 GOALS) Despite being occasionally deployed in defensive midfield at various clubs throughout his career, Alexander was a right-back by trade. The former Scottish right-back played for numerous clubs like Scunthorpe United, Burnley, Luton Town and Preston North End. The fact that he was the first spot-kick taker for the teams he played for meant that he could score a lot of goals. He has 40 international caps for Scotland as well but he never got on the scoresheet for his country.
STEVE BRUCE (113 GOALS) Mention the words ‘Steve Bruce’ and ‘goal’ to any Manchester United fan and there’s only game that will spring to mind. The former Red Devils centre-back scored twice late on in a pivotal come-from-behind victory over Sheffield Wednesday in 1992/93 – and had the defender not popped up in the Owls’ penalty box, Alex Ferguson’s side may not have gone on to win the club’s first league title in 26 years. Goals weren’t exactly a rarity for Bruce, though: the uncapped Englishman netted 113 of them throughout a career which also included spells at Gillingham, Norwich, Birmingham and Sheffield United. The 1990/91 season was his most prolific – 19 goals in all competitions.
PAUL BREITNER (113 GOALS) Breitner stepped forward into midfield during the latter stages of his career, but before that he was a left-back for clubs – Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Eintracht Braunschweig – and country. The former West Germany international won Euro ’72 and the 1974 World Cup with his country, scoring three goals at the latter tournament – including the equalising penalty against Holland in the final. In fact, he’s one of only four players to score in two World Cup finals, having plundered another in the 1982 showpiece against Italy. Ten of Breitner’s career goals came for Die Mannschaft, with the rest notched at club level. His most prolific spell came during his midfield days at Bayern, but he still posed a threat to the opposition goal even when utilised in a deeper role.
ROBERTO CARLOS (113 GOALS) Perhaps the greatest attacking left-back of all time, Roberto Carlos had a knack of scoring great goals. While defensively he might not have the best, there were and are only a few who could amount to the attacking prowess of the former Brazil international. The World Cup winning defender had a great ability to marauding forward and channelling his movements into goal-scoring areas of the pitch. Add to that the fact he was a specialist free-kick taker and a marksman from long range, which meant that he would score some cracking goals every now and then.
FRANZ BECKENBAUER (108 GOALS) ‘Der Kaiser’ was a defender ahead of his time. He specialised in the sweeper role and remains one of its greatest ever exponents. The fact that he was the furthest outfield player from the opposition’s goal makes his goals stat look even more compelling. The German legend was highly regarded for his genius-level intellect, passing precision, vision and defending, but it doesn’t stop there. He was also a prolific goal-scoring defender who led the great Bayern and Germany side of the 70s with vigour. In a career that spanned for 19 years, Beckenbauer scored 108 times.
SINISA MIHAJLOVIC (105 GOALS) Mihajlovic was an expert free-kick taker and the majority of his 105 goals for club and country came from dead-ball situations. The Yugoslavia international struck 10 times for his country, including a low free-kick to open the scoring against Iran at the 1998 World Cup, and on 61 occasions for four different sides in Serie A. Together with Andrea Pirlo, the ex-Roma, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter left-back holds the all-time record for most free-kick goals (28) in the Italian top flight, and he also scored regularly from the penalty spot during his time on the peninsula.
SERGIO RAMOS (100 GOALS) Sergio Ramos is the modern day definition of a goal scoring defender. In this modern era no defender scores goals as easily and as frequently as Sergio Ramos. His Champions League final strikes against Atletico Madrid in both Lisbon and Milan are the standouts. Seven of his goals have come this season, as he has become the first-choice penalty taker since Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer exit. Ramos scores most often against Malaga – five times – and he also enjoys playing against Barcelona, scoring on four occasions against the Catalans. 59 of his goals have come in LaLiga Santander, 5 in the Copa del Rey, 11 in the Champions League, 1 in the Europa League, 7 between Super Cups and the Club World Cup, while 17 have come for Spain, with five of those coming in friendlies.

The new AMD Radeon VII graphics card Sample
Well, honestly this is an interesting card, a graphics card that directly competes with RTX 2080 at about half of its price which is incredible. If this card gives 60+ FPS at 4K for popular triple A titles, then it will be worth buying.
For productivity and content creation this card plays a vital role even at $699, and a 20-30 per cent better performance than Vega 64 which makes this card quiet a “Flagship Killer”.
Well, I hope by May we get to see more graphics cards by AMD at Computex or at IFA, and yes the NAVI graphics cards well. Not much is said about them, but we can expect new 7nm products raining through 2019 and 2020.
What do you think? Would buy the new Radeon VII? Tell us in the comments below… 🙂

Omar El Husseiny scored from the spot at the half-hour mark before Aser Dipanda Dica doubled the scoreline in the 69th minute to rediscover his scoring touch.
Sony Norde was once again the limelight for Bagan as he was the livewire for the Mariners in the attacking third.
Aser Dipanda Dica regained his shooting boots (69′) after Omar El Hussieny scored the opening goal from the spot (30′).
Bagan continued their domination in the second half as well. Yuta Kinowaki and Omar were winning the midfield battle against Minerva which complicated the matters for Munster’s team.
“I’m very happy with the game. The players did all the good work and motivated each other to play well. It’s because of the players that we won today,” Khalid Jamil said after the match.
Khalid Jamil in his first match as head coach of Mohun Bagan, made five changes to the side from their defeat against Real Kashmir. Dalraj Singh and Gurjinder Kumar made their way back into a four-man backline. Former Mumbai FC player Darren Caldeira started in place of Sourav Das in midfield. Khiangte was dropped from the matchday squad and Azharuddin Mallick started on the left flank. Ugandan striker Henry Kisekka was also benched as Jamil preferred Aser Dipanda Dica up front.
The Bagan coach didn’t have as much a problem with the refereeing as much as his counterpart from Minerva Punjab, Paul Munster.
Mohun Bagan will play their next match against Neroca on December 12th at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan(Salt lake Stadium).

Bayern Munich’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic announced on Wednesday that Bayern have activated the Stuttgart centre-half’s €35 million (£31m/$40m) release clause.
Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Stuttgart and France defender Benjamin Pavard on a five-year deal. The Bavarian outfit announced the news via Twitter on Wednesday
Salihamidzic revealed to reporters: “I can confirm that Benjamin Pavard will join us on a five-year deal from 1st July 2019. Pavard is a young player and a world champion. We’re delighted and very proud to have been able to secure the services of a player like him.”
🗣️ @Brazzo: “I can confirm that Benjamin Pavard will join us on a five-year deal from 1st July 2019.
Pavard, who starred in France’s World Cup win in the summer, will remain at Stuttgart until the end of the season. Pavard joined Stuttgart in 2016 and went on to win the 2. Bundesliga title in his first season at the club.
In March 2017 he made his France debut and played right-back as the country went on to win its second World Cup. A superb strike in the last 16 defeat of Argentina saw Pavard win goal of the tournament.
🔥 @BenPavard28 🔥 What a way to score your first goal for your country @Hyundai_Global #WorldCupGOT 👀 TV listings 👉 https://t.co/xliHcxWvEO 📺 Highlights 👉 https://t.co/LOdKDX2Cwn https://t.co/XVAzzukGsd
But he hasn’t enjoyed such good form this season, though. In part thanks to his struggles, Stuttgart are battling relegation and sit 16th in the Bundesliga, having shipped 29 goals in his 14 appearances and 35 overall.
Despite his recent dip in form, Pavard is a good young talent who can freshen up Bayern’s back line. Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng are both 30 now, and the latter in particular has suffered a decline of late.
As for Stuttgart, they have received a €35 million (£31.4 million) fee for him, according to DW Sports. The deal will not only allow him to help Stuttgart for the remainder of the campaign, but they might also be able to use the money to aid their survival bid. Stuttgart have scored just 12 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches this season, so attacking reinforcements are sorely needed.
Niko Kovac’s side trail Dortmund by six points in the table – the first time in eight seasons that they have not led the way going into the winter break. And the signing of Pavard is unlikely to be the final piece of business completed by Bayern in January.
The Bavarians have made a fourth bid of £35m ($45m) for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi , offering him the No.10 shirt in an attempt to convince him to move to Germany. Kovac’s side had already completed the $13.5 million (€11.5m/£10m) signing of Alphonso Davies from Vancouver Whitecaps, with the 18-year-old Canadian part of the 29-man squad that travelled to Qatar on January 4 .
Bayern resume the Bundesliga season with an away trip to Hoffenheim on January 18, while Pavard’s current side Stuttgart, who are 16th in the table, host Mainz on January 19 as they aim to move further away from the relegation spots.

To make a pleasing 2019, AMD will power the new age Chromebooks that will require lesser power, more productivity and will run on Google’s Chromebook OS. AMD hasn’t yet played any role in the Chromebook market.
Most of the processors that typically go into Chromebooks are lower grade Celerons and Pentiums, which AMD doesn’t particularly compete against.
AMD has made a smart move by dedicating its A-series APUs for Chromebooks that need lesser power and performance.
So, instead of going for the Intel Pentium and Celeron processors, Chromebook makers including Acer, HP, and other OEMs will start using the refreshed AMD A6-9220C and AMD A4-9120C.
So, AMD is trying to pursue the Chromebook market, with they feel is ‘an underserved but growing market’. AMD even quoted that:
The Chromebook market is currently growing with an 8% CAGR (compound annual growth rate) with increasing average selling prices
AMD
For the Red Team, now is the right time to enter this market. To this end, AMD has launched its A-Series processors with a 6W TDP.
7th Generation AMD A-Series Processors: Versatile A-Series processor for Google Chromebooks
Both of the AMD A6-9220C and AMD A4-9120C will have TDP of as low as 6 Watt and 1MB of cache. These small CPUs built on 28nm architecture will have one core/module. That means, these processors will bedual-coreones and will have 2 threads.
The A6-9220C is the best processor out of the pair, with a 1.8 GHz base frequency and a 2.7 GHz turbo frequency. It has 192 SPs running at 720 MHz and also supports VP9/H.264/H.265 decode.
While the AMD A4-9120C is slightly slower with 1.8 GHz base frequency and a 2.7 GHz turbo frequency. It has 192 SPs running at 600 MHz and also supports VP9/H.264/H.265 decode.
The graphics inside is AMD’s GCN 1.2 family, much better than Intel’s integrated graphics. AMD A6-9220C has integrated Radeon R5 graphics, on the other hand, AMD A4-9120C will feature Radeon R4 graphics.
The 7th Gen AMD A-Series processors deliver ideal computing experiences, from fluid web browsing to effortless everyday productivity, social media, streaming and web gaming. The AMD A6-9220C processor provides:
HP’s alleged Chromebook 14 powered by new AMD processors
up to 23% faster web browsing and up to 24% faster web application performance than the Intel Pentium N4200 and Celeron N3350, respectively
up to 3.2X faster email performance and up to 74% higher office application productivity than the Intel Pentium N4200 and Celeron N3350, respectively
up to 42% faster photo editing performance and up to 43% faster web gaming experiences than the Intel Pentium N4200 and Celeron N3350, respectively
Chromebooks are usually used for office style work, some web browsing, and leisure, now AMD seems confident they have a part that their processors can serve these purposes as well.
All of the AMD-based Chromebooks are claimed to give a minimum of 10hrs of battery life, which AMD supposes as a basic requirement for Chromebooks. These two processors might can also be seen powering entry-level Windows notebooks.
What do you think about these processors? Tell us in the comments 🙂
Finally, at CES 2019, AMD shows off its new 2nd Gen Ryzen Mobile processors aka Ryzen 3000 Mobile processors based on ‘Zen+’ architecture
After a lot of rumours and leaks, AMD has finally shown off something. It’s not officially announced by Dr Lisa Su but yes they have listed their new mobile processors on their site as of now.
The key disadvantage of the first gen Ryzen mobile series processors was not as efficient as its competitor Intel was, but yes they were expectedly powerful enough.
The Ryzen 3000 Mobile processors
Instead of making chips based on 7nm, AMD has made the new 2nd Gen Ryzen Mobile Processors based on 12nm micro-architecture or based on the ‘Zen+’ micro-architecture.
Also, the first gen Ryzen mobile processors were not fully optimized and lacked major driver support which AMD claims that they have fixed with the new Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition.
The new AMD Ryzen™ 3000 Series Mobile Processors are expected to deliver best-in-class performance, a brilliant entertainment experience, and state-of-the-art features as well as offering impressive performance improvements.
Here are the specs of the new Ryzen 3000 Mobile processors:
As we can see there is a new leader i.e the Ryzen 7 3750H, with 4 cores & 8 threads, which I think will be mostly used in gaming laptops. It has a high TDP of 35 Watt, base clock frequency of 2.3GHz and a turbo up to 4GHz. Also, it has Vega 10 graphics along with 6MB of L2+L3 cache.

Also, there are the Ryzen 5 3550H with the same TDP of 35 Watt, with same 4 cores & 8 threads. For graphics, we have the Vega 8 graphics and 6MB of combined cache.
Both of the new CPUs have higher TDPs that will help during intensive gaming. Also, the cache has been increased considerably and now have higher clock frequencies.
Coming to the other variants of 3700U and 3500U, both of them will feature the same 4 cores and 8 threads with TDP of just 15 Watts. Both have received higher clock speeds and will have 6MB of L2+L3 combined cache.
For the lower end, we have the Ryzen 3 3300U that will have 4 cores and 4 threads this time with 2.1GHz base clock speed and up to 3.5GHz on the turbo. The chip will be accompanied with 6MB of cache and Vega 6 graphics.
There will two new CPUs namely the Ryzen 3 3200U and Athlon 300U, both will have 2 cores and 4 threads. For graphics, both will have Vega 3 graphics, with Ryzen 3 3200U having higher frequencies. Both will have 5MB of huge cache memory with as low as 15 Watt of TDP.
