Moto G9 Play spotted in Geekbench with a more powerful processor than Moto G8 Play

Moto G8 Play was launched nearly at the end of the previous year so now the company is already working on the successors of the G series. Yes, we are talking particularly about the Moto G9 Play. The Moto G9 Play will be one of the entry-level smartphones of the G series this year with various kinds of specs upgraded from the previous versions.

Last year we have seen that the Moto G8 Play was using MediaTek Helio P70M but this year according to reports the successor G9 Play seems to have a motherboard codenamed “camp”. We have no concrete information about this chipset but reports claim that its an old Snapdragon 665 chipset. Though old, still better than the MediaTek Helio P70M.

Lately, we have spotted the Moto G9 Play in the Geekbench 5 listing. The listing shows a 4G RAM variant an octa-core processor that has a 1.80GHz base frequency and the processor name suggested Qualcomm might confirm the Snapdragon 665 chipset. The phone will also run on Android 10.

Moto G8 Play only has 2GB RAM as it is considered to be the entry-level smartphone of the G series but the G9 Play will have 4GB RAM as mentioned by Geekbench, and we are pretty sure there might be some lower RAM variant for this device available during launch if Moto wants this device to make an entry-level smartphone of the G series.

This device is not the first one to surface from the new G9 series – Moto G9 Plus 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage which was listed at an online retailer at €277.

A roadmap predicts the launches of upcoming Qualcomm and MediaTek chips

0

Interestingly, a research conducted by an investment bank has provided with a roadmap of the upcoming Qualcomm and MediaTek chipsets and some more details as well.

A Weibo user posted the roadmap wherein we see the next-gen 5nm based Qualcomm chip will be launching Snapdragon 875G sometime in the Q1 2021. What’s more interesting is that it says that the chip will be based on the Samsung’s 5nm EUV process.

A roadmap predicts the launches of upcoming Qualcomm and MediaTek chips

Although initial rumours had proven that TSMC would continue be the supplier of the silicon. Then we see the prediction suggesting the immediate launch of the mid-range Snapdragon 735G chipset which also based on the same 5nm EUV process.

Surprisingly, there’s a mention of an entry-level Snapdragon 435G chipset as well which should debut at almost the same time. The prediction also suggests a timeline for MediaTek chips as well. In Q3 of 2020 itself, we should see the launch of Dimensity 600 based on the 7nm process.

Now there’s the mention of the Dimensity 400 which is expected to land at the beginning of next year and it seems to be 6nm chipset, another strange prediction. Also, there’s the mention of the 5G-enabled 5nm flagship SoC from MediaTek which will land in Q2 2021.

TSMC’s 3nm process risk manufacturing will be increased by 70% in 2021

0

The Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer doesn’t seem interested in stopping its successful run. Already making handsome profits with its 7nm process and this year will be delivering 5nm fabrication process.

Having a great relationship with the likes of Apple, NVIDIA, AMD, Qualcomm and MediaTek has helped it grow even faster. Though it has lost Huawei still stands strong as its 3nm process seems much more exciting.

Already we had reports that TSMC has already started risk manufacturing of its 3nm process chips and now Mydrivers states that it’s been officially announced that the risk production is already in assessment and in the second half of 2021 we could expect mass production of these chips.

TSMC unveils its new 6nm chip manufacturing process

TSMC seems to have shred some light on the technical details of the 3nm process as well. When compared with this year’s 5nm process, the transistor density of the 3nm process has been increased by around 15%.

Coming to the performance improvements, it will get a 10-15% bump while the energy efficiency will be increased by 20-25%. This is a significant increase but we will be unable to judge or predict the performance of 3nm chips until we see the 5nm ones in action.

Previously it was speculated that TSMC will be discarding the FinFET transistor process at the 3nm node and turn to GAA surround gate transistors. However, the latest reports have shown that TSMC successfully developed the 2nm process, using GAA transistor technology. So, TSMC’s 3nm node will still be using the traditional FinFET process.

According to other media reports, TSMC will be launching the Apple A16 chips for iPhone and iPad as promised. The chip will use TSMC’s 3nm process and will be available in 2022.

Barca flop Philippe Coutinho set to return to Premier League with Arsenal on loan

0

The Brazilian had a nightmare leaving Liverpool for Barcelona and never really shown it’s full potential playing as a left winger. But still he was loaned to Bayern with an option to buy him as well but the Bundesliga giants are smart enough to not to do so.

So Barcelona is again frantically looking for a buyer of such scale to buy Coutinho and in this pandemic situation finding one will really tough. Now the most possible destination for the Brazilian is likely the Premier League.

coutinho mane Barca flop Philippe Coutinho set to return to Premier League with Arsenal on loan

According to Sport, Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian is negotiating a deal with Arsenal. SunSport has claimed that the 28-year old could join Arsenal or Newcastle as soon as next week. Yet for the London outfit, they can only afford a temporary deal like the one they made for Dani Ceballos this season.

This is a pathetic turn to Coutinho’s soaring career at Liverpool and it is the lack of planning and coaching at Barcelona which has turned him to a flop. Now Barcelona are stuck with and it’s wage bills are far higher to even use Coutinho in the squad so looking for a buyer this season will be the primary task for the Catalans.

HP Envy x360 with AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD now in India for a hefty ₹ 75,686

0

Last month, I wrote about this laptop finding its way into the US market but its finally in India as well. The new HP Envy x360 2-in-1 laptop with Ryzen 4000U mobile processors are now in India, the same 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 4500U powered model is available in the country but for hefty pricing of ₹ 75,686.

Talking about specs, the HP Envy x360 13-ay0044AU is a 2-in-1 Laptop that features the 6 core and 6 threaded Ryzen 5 4500U APU. It is clocked at 2.3GHz base and up to 4.0GHz boost along with 8MB L3 Cache. The graphics of the laptop handled by the Vega 6 iGPU with 1500 MHz frequency.

HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD available on Amazon

The laptop features 13.3-inch Full HD multitouch IPS WLED-backlit display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. It has an edge-to-edge screen with a peak brightness of 250 nits, covering about 45% NTSC color gamut. The HP Envy x360 packs 8 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM along with 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. For connectivity, it comes with Wi-Fi 5 (2×2) and Bluetooth 5 combo.

The laptop features a full-size backlit island-style keyboard with an integrated numeric keypad along with an HP Wide Vision HD Camera with a camera shutter and integrated dual array digital microphone. It also comes with 3 speakers tuned by Bang & Olufsen and has HP Audio Boost technology.

For ports, we have 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (10 Gb/s signaling rate, Power Delivery 3.0, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge), 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gb/s signaling rate, HP Sleep and Charge), 1 Mini DisplayPort, 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 multi-format SD media card reader and 1 headphone/microphone combo.

The new HP Envy x360 features a 3-cell 51 Wh Li-ion polymer battery which supports fast charging – approximately 50% in 30 minutes. Weighing about 2 Kg, it is easy to carry anywhere and being a 2-in-1 laptop you can use it for productivity work as well, it comes in Nightfall Black colour variant only.

HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 4500U, 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD available on Amazon

The laptop as a whole is a great laptop only downside being its display, so professionals better stay out of this but is great for normal tasks and its powerful AMD APU is a great addition to this slim and light 2-in-1 laptop.

Now coming to the pricing which has amazed me the most is in India the HP Envy x360 13 costing a whopping ₹ 75,686 that translates to about $1,010 which obviously includes 18% GST. But still, when the same laptop is available for as low as $699 in the US, the pricing in India makes the laptop out of reach for a lot of enthusiasts who have been eager for a Ryzen 4000U powered 2-in-1 laptop. Still, if you are eager to go for it here is the link: https://amzn.to/3jcMZRw

iPhone manufacturer Pegatron registers India subsidiary

This is huge news that is to be believed as Apple’s second-largest iPhone manufacturer Pegatron is paving the way to enter India. According to Economic Times, Pegatron has registered a subsidiary in India for expanding its manufacturing in the country.

“Pegatron has registered its India subsidiary in Chennai,” a person familiar with the development told ET. “Currently, the company’s officials are in discussions with multiple state governments to find land to set up factories after which they would import plant and machinery.”

Pegatron is an over $45-billion Taiwanese contract manufacturer who is one of three global makers of iPhones for Apple. The other two being Wistron and Foxconn who are already present in the country.

Apple logo_TechnoSports.co.in

This move is significant amidst the US-China trade ban and the India-China tensions in the border. India will become the largest smartphone exporter in the next 5 years if the manufacturers follow the Government’s PLI scheme.

So, as previously we speculated that Apple will be moving 20% of the iPhone production in India. Already Foxconn is expanding its factories in India and Winstron is planning to make iPhone SE (2020) production in India.

This tells Apple’s interest in India and it now feels as if the Cupertino giant was true with its words with the Indian government of becoming the largest smartphone exporter. If Pegatron and more companies start coming to India the local manufacturing revenue may go up to around $40 billion in the next five years as predicted.

iPhone SE (2020) or OnePlus 8 who is the winner in India?

Obviously this is a move to reduce its dependency on China for iPhone manufacturing as well as saving taxes on importing Apple products. Pegatron is Taiwan’s second-largest contract manufacturer after Foxconn and makes notebooks, desktops, motherboards, tablet devices, game consoles, LCD TVs, multimedia players, smartphones, broadband and networking devices.

In the country, the locally manufactured iPhone 7 and iPhone XR are the top-selling premium smartphones as they are quite cheap as Apple saves money on taxes. So, imagine if all of the iPhones start getting manufactured in India and somehow Apple launches cheaper iPhones it has a huge scope in the country.

India is the second-largest smartphone market and has the potential to top the charts so with proper investments and great smartphones any non-Chinese manufacturer can excel in the coming days, especially Apple and Samsung.

Google has been fined 600,000 Euros in Belgium

Google faced fines of 600,000 Euros in Belgium and it is imposed by Belgium’s data protection authority (APD) and for violating the EU’s “right to be forgotten” law and it’s the highest amount charged by the APD.

A person from Belgium appealed to the APD requesting to ask Google Belgium for taking down a few links that affect their reputation. The links are about some unproven harassment incidents that happened more than 10 years back. The APD says Google was “grossly negligent”.

AS per the APD’s press release, “Google has declared a serious breach by refusing it. Since the facts have mot been established, are old, and are likely to have serious repercussions for the complainant, the rights and interests of the person concerned must prevail,”

Fine_TechnoSports.co.in

Apart from this, APD thinks obsoleted information can affect a person’s image. So, it also ordered Google not to reference pages having outdated information.

After all these, Google Belgium takes the decision to go to the court, as per the Reuters. As per Google, it worked to “strike a sensible, principled balance between people’s rights of access to information and privacy.”

“We didn’t believe this case met the European Court of Justice’s criteria for delisting published journalism from search – we thought it was in the public’s interest that this reporting remain searchable,” – a Google spokesperson to Reuters.
