Pep Guardiola thinks maybe Manchester City still can’t compete with Europe’s biggest clubs

Manchester City lost 2-1 against Manchester United and are now 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola doubts his team’s capability to compete against the big European clubs.

The defending two-time Premier League champions were beaten 2-1 by Solskjaer’s Manchester United. With this defeat, Manchester City are now 14 points behind current league leaders Liverpool.

Despite dominating English football for the past two seasons and boasting an exceptional, expensive squad, Guardiola has suggested his side might be unable to go toe-to-toe with Europe’s biggest clubs.

Manchester City’s defence have been vulnerable this season. Guardiola’s decision of not recruiting another defender in place of Vincent Kompany is proving fatal. Laporte has also been injured for last few months, adding more worry to City’s defence.

Guardiola told reporters: “This is the level we are facing, against Liverpool, [Manchester] United, Barcelona, [Real] Madrid and Juventus. They are the teams we have to face, and the reality is maybe we’re not able to compete with them.”

“Okay, so we have to improve and accept it and move forward. I could come here and complain about many things; I have reasons to complain. Maybe we need as a club to accept the reality we have right now and improve.”

He further added: “The reality is we’re 14 points behind because of the mistakes, the quality of the opponents and especially for the things we cannot control. That’s the reality. But we have to continue.
We are at the beginning of December. We have other competitions to play, other games to fight and improve on that. Maybe it will help us for the future of the club; maybe we need that for the future to be better.”

In our previous article, we discussed the leaked specs of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT which seems to launch as early as next week. Though we have some assumptions and leaked specs and now we have some leaked OpenCL benchmarks that give us an idea of the card’s real-world performance.

The RX 5500 XT has been benchmarked against the new GTX 1650 Super that poses the faster GDDR6 memory and is providing better performance in its price segment. The AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT will be a Navi 14 based GPU with 11 CUs and 1.72 GHz maximum frequency.

The AMD GPU is rumoured to be available in both options of 4GB GDDR6 VARM and 8GB memory options. Here we have a Geekbench 4 comparison of the RX 5500 XT with 8GB VRAM against the GTX 1650 Super with 4GB GDDR6 memory.

As we see in the OpenCL tests, the GTX 1650 Super has a small edge over the RX 55000 XT in all of the tests in the benchmark. Though we cannot judge the gaming performance of the card on the basis of the productivity benchmarks which solely depends on the platform, API used and the architecture of the GPU.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is at his peak form and it seems he is scoring goals for fun now. He became the first player to score in eight consecutive Premier League games since he previously achieved the feat himself in 2015.

Leicester City won the Premier League out of the blue during the 2015/16 season. He scored in 11 consecutive Premier League matches that season.

This 8 match scoring run started in the 2-1 win over Burnley on 19th October and was followed a week later with a hat-trick in the 9-0 routing at Southampton. Since then he has scored against Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Brighton, Everton and Watford before today’s strike against Aston Villa.

With his 20th minute strike at Villa Park, Vardy is now just three matches short of equalling his own Premier League record. If he manages to bag goals in the league matches against Norwich, Manchester City and league leaders Liverpool on Boxing Day, he will match his own tally of scoring in 11 successive Premier League matches.

Manchester United have beaten the reigning Premier League champions in their own backyard.

Manchester is red again after Manchester United gave their neighbours Manchester City a surprise at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.

This is City’s fourth league defeat of the season and it leaves them 14 points behind runaway league leaders Liverpool. While United are a further eight points behind City despite securing successive wins against Tottenham and City.

Rashford put United ahead with a well-taken penalty before Martial fired past Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson through his near post. It was expected that Ederson would be able to save that, but Martial’s power and precision were good enough to take the ball into the net before Ederson could react.

Manchester United manager Solskjaer said after the match: “I was so happy with the way we started the game. The way we created big chances, we looked like we could score every time we had the ball. And the intent was there to go forward, every time we had the ball. It’s not about keeping it or slowing it down; we go for the kill and should have been three or four-nil up.”

“But then again, you’re playing against the best team in the world, so you have to defend well. I think the way we had to prepare for this game because you follow this team for three years, and they’re so hard to defend against because they’re so good, I’m very pleased with how they dealt with everything, our boys.”

He further praised Fred: “[He was] Arguably man of the match today. He took the ball, he’s playing against Kevin De Bruyne, probably the best player in the league and I thought he was excellent.
It’s great to see it; the boy deserves it. But when you get a run and keep the team together, Scott [McTominay] and Fred have made a great partnership.”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said at his post-match news conference: “I like how my team played. We conceded a little bit more space – not more than usual, but more than last year against United. We knew about the pace they have, with James, Martial and Rashford, but sometimes it is not possible to control it.”

“In general, we did what we like. We arrived in the final third many, many, many, many times. Unfortunately, we couldn’t finish a little bit more, but I like to watch my team. I know nobody agrees but I like it.”

“Sometimes it happens. Sometimes you don’t win and the others are better and you lose. Normal is not winning the league always, sometimes you lose. It is important not to give up and try to do what we do as a team. All the games we play a season we play the game I want my team to play.
After that, the counter-attacks, the final third, when we struggle in some departments okay, it’s part of the process. Maybe next season we will be better.”

But the beautiful game was overshadowed by those second-half scenes when United had won a corner. Fred went to take the corner and he was hit by several items that were thrown on to the pitch. Along with this he and Jesse Lingard also appeared to be targeted by abuse.

Manchester City and Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that they are working together to investigate the incident, while Solskjaer called for a life ban from football grounds for any individual found guilty of such an offence.

Manchester United captain Ashley Young posted on Twitter: “Should never have to post anything like this because I’d have thought it’s obvious but racism has no place in football or society.
Kudos to Man City for the swift statement, I hope the individual is properly dealt with.”

Finally, we’ve got some pretty interesting leaks of the upcoming AMD “Renoir” APUs, which are going to launched sometime in 2020. These APUs will be based on AMD’s ground-breaking Zen 2 architecture and the graphics will be based on their revolutionary Navi architecture.

Thanks to the famous tipster TUM_APISAK who has spotted a SiSoft Sandra OpenCL listing for the supposed Ryzen 3 4200G APU. So, we can get a rough idea about the new revolutionary APUs which are said to be much more powerful and efficient than before because of the 7nm architecture.

According to the SiSoft Sandra OpenCL listing, the Ryzen 3 4200G’s iGPU will feature 512 shader cores and operate at higher clock speeds of 1750 MHz. Now, that much higher clock speed has only been seen in high-end GPU of AMD i.e AMD Radeon VII and this might also confirm that the iGPU will be based on Navi architecture.

The previous Ryzen 5 3400G performs quite well with its Vega 11 iGPU and has a 1400 MHz which is seemingly underwhelming when compared to discrete GPUs. But running at such clock speeds on an iGPU that too with its seemingly old Vega architecture seems impressive, on the other hand, with Navi 1700 MHz seems possible comfortably.

AMD Ryzen Pro Mobile Processors are To Bring Evolution

If we compare the Ryzen 3 4200G spec with the OEM exclusive RX 5500 discrete Navi 14 GPU, which has the same 128-bit bus and nearly three times as many shaders as the Renoir APU. The inclusion of Zen 2 and Navi might make these APUs costly but will relatively be more value for money for buyers in the long run.

Another notable thing is that we are talking about the Ryzen 3 and we have no idea about Ryzen 5 4400G which will also be expectedly powerful both on CPU and GPU front. Navi might truly help gamers to game with their GPU, allocating enough VRAM from their RAM to game comfortably at 1080p for most games, which was quite struggling with Vega.

Son picked up the ball near his own penalty box and went on an insane solo run which saw him going past almost the entire Burnley team and then calmly finishing past Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Son told Sky Sports after the match: “When I got the ball, I tried to pass it to Dele but I couldn’t find him, so I had to keep going. I am happy to score this goal.

According to Videocardz, the Radeon RX 5500 XT apparently is said to operate on a 128-bit memory bandwidth like the regular RX 5500 and will be available in two variants: 4GB and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM.

Even though Compute Units (CU) count remains unclear, the website speculates that this 7 nm GPU will have a 53.9 GPixel/s pixel fillrate and 148.3 GTexel/s texture fillrate. The card seems to be capable of up to 4.8 TFLOPS of floating-point performance, although we are unsure of the accuracy of the information.

The RX 5500 non-XT might end up as an OEM-exclusive, on the other hand, the RX 5500 XT should only be available through AMD board partners. No pricing details have been leaked, but Videocardz says that this new mid-range card will launch be unveiled by the latest of December 15.
