Upcoming smartphone launches in February/March 2021

There is a big number of smartphones are about to get launched in the month of February and March of 2021. Some of them are of a flagship lineup whereas some of them are typical mid-range ones. We’ve made a list of upcoming smartphones that will be launched in February/March. Most of those are rumored and launch dates are not confirmed. But still, we’ve put them on that list. So, without wasting any time, let’s check them out.

1. Samsung Galaxy F62 (February 15):

The Samsung Galaxy F62 will run the One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 OS and is powered by the Exynos 9825, a 7nm based chipset. Regarding the display, this phone is likely to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel having a punch-hole for carrying the front camera. Regarding the Exynos 9825, it performs slightly better than the Snapdragon 765G.

The SoC of this phone is said to be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Coming to the camera section, this phone will offer a square-shaped quad rear camera setup supported by an LED flash that includes a 64MP primary sensor. Despite having AMOLED, this phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Regarding the battery, the Galaxy F62 definitely gets an upper hand as it is fueled by a gigantic 7,000mAH battery (charging speed not mentioned yet). The pricing of this phone has not been confirmed yet whereas it is rumored that this phone will carry a price tag of around under Rs 25,000 (~$343). All the mysteries will get solved on February 15 at 12 pm.

2. Huawei Mate X2 (February 22):

As per some rumors out there, the Huawei Mate X2 will run on the Android 10 OS and will be powered by the Kirin 9000 5nm chipset. As it is a foldable device, there will be definitely two displays. One is expected to be 8.01-inch having a resolution of 2480 x 2220 pixels whereas, on the front side, it is expected to be another one with a size of 6.45-inch that delivers a resolution of 2270 x 1160 pixels.

Coming to the camera section, this phone is expected to offer a quad-rear camera setup which includes a 50MP primary sensor along with three other sensors of 16MP, 12MP, and 8MP. For selfies, this phone could arrive with a 16MP selfie snapper at the front. It is said that this phone will have the support for 10x hybrid zoom by its rear camera setup. The Huawei Mate X2 is expected to be fueled up by a 4,400mAH battery supported by 66W of fast charging. In terms of dimension, this phone measures 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2mm and weighs around 295 grams.

3. Redmi K40 series (February 25):

The official poster reveals the black retail box design and we are still unaware if the company will include the charger in the box. The Redmi K40 series will have a Pro model that will be equipped with Snapdragon 888 SoC and the vanilla version might get the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset or a Snapdragon 700 series chipset. Charger in the box or not, stereo speakers were assured by the company.

As per some leaks, the Pro model of the series could be priced around 2,999 Yuan (~$464). The battery of the devices will be in the 4,000mAh segment. The pricing of all the other devices in the series has not been revealed yet but we can expect the vanilla version to be priced around 2,000 Yuan (~$310).

4. Samsung Galaxy A52 5G/ A72 5G (India launch, February/March):

As of now, we don’t have any confirmed specifications of the Galaxy A52 5G. However, some leaks are suggesting that this phone will feature a 6.5-inch Infinity-O display and a thickness of 8.4mm. The 5G variant of this phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 750G chipset whereas the 4G variant could be powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset. The Galaxy A52 is expected to run on Android 11 OS and probably feature a quad rear camera setup having a 64MP primary sensor. Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

As per the leaks and reports, the Galaxy A72 5G is expected to run One UI 3.0 based on the latest Android 11 OS and will be powered by a 5nm Exynos 1080 chipset. Regarding the display, this phone is likely to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080p. It will be a flat display and will have slim bezels all around. The Galaxy A72 5G will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Samsung Galaxy A72 5G

This phone will have a glasstic rear panel whereas the frame that goes around is aluminum. Looking at the basic design and size, there is a quite big similarity between the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72 5G. 5. Samsung Galaxy A12 (India launch, February/March):

In November 2020, Samsung had announced its Galaxy A02s along with the Galaxy A12 for the European market. Now reports have come out saying that Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy A12 smartphone in the coming week.

This is the successor of the Galaxy A11. This phone runs on the Android 10 OS and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC chipset. Regarding the display, this phone features a 6.5″ HD+ Infinity-V display with a notch to hold the selfie snapper. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Regarding the camera section, this phone offers a square-shaped quad rear camera setup which includes a 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2 MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. For the selfies, this phone offers an 8MP selfie snapper at the front. In terms of the battery, this phone is fueled up by a massive 5,000mAH battery with the support of 15W fast charging. The Galaxy A12 comes in four different color variants: Black, Blue, White, and Red.

6. Xiaomi Mi 11 series (February/March):

Xiaomi Mi 11 is powered by the top-notch processor Snapdragon 888 with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The company also boasts that Mi 11 features Xiaomi’s most advanced display till now. It is the dual-SIM (Nano) device that runs on Android 10. It has a 6.81-inch display with 2K (3200 x 1440) resolution. It also has 1500 nits of peak brightness and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio.

Talking about the camera, it has a triple rear camera setup that offers an amazing 108-megapixel sensor. The size of the pixels is 1.6 microns and has optical image stabilization (OIS) as well. It also houses a 13-megapixel secondary sensor and a 5-megapixel tertiary sensor. They come with an f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens and an f/2.4 macro lens respectively.

Xiaomi Mi 11 comes in multiple color variants with a curved display and a curved back. It has both glass (with AG coating) and leather (with metal nameplate) finishes. Harman Kardon’s logo can also be spotted near the speaker grille as the stereo speakers are backed by them. Coming to the battery, Mi 11 consists of a 4600mAh battery that supports Mi TurboCharge 55W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The thickness and weight of the smartphone are 8.06mm and 196 grams. The leather version has thickness and weight of 8.56mm and 194 grams respectively. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Infrared (IR), Bluetooth v5.2, and USB Type-C port are the connectivity options for the new smartphone. (source)

7. Realme GT/ Realme 8/ Narzo 30 series (February/March):

The specification of Realme Race (Realme GT) is not known, though we can expect it to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile processor. It can have 12 GB of RAM along with 256 GB of internal storage. It is also expected that this Realme Race comes with Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS. A few earlier reports have already suggested that the Realme Race Pro smartphone might have a 6.81-inch OLED screen. It can also have a spectacular refresh rate of 160 Hz with a 3K resolution support.

It might house a powerful 5,000mAh battery paired with 125W superfast charging compatibility. Talking about optics, it can feature a triple camera system which includes a 64 MP primary camera, 13 MP secondary lens, and another 13 MP lens. One can expect it to feature 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. (source) Another two series of Realme (REalme 8 and Narzo 30 series) are about to launch in March. As of now, specifications are not confirmed.

8. Vivo X60 series (Global launch, February/March):

The upcoming Vivo X60 series has three smartphones: Vivo X60, X60 Pro, and X60 Pro+. As per the first two models, both of them will have a 6.55-inches AMOLED punch-hole display. The display also has a 120Hz refresh rate. Regarding the design, the Vivo X60 will have a flat-screen, whereas the Pro version comes with curved edges. As I mentioned that both smartphones will be powered by the 5nm Exynos 1080+ chipset.

The Vivo X60 comes with a triple rear camera, including- a 48MP main camera with an f/1.6 lens, alongside a 13 MP ultra-wide snapper, and an 8MP sensor for portrait snap. But we haven’t got any information regarding the camera specifications of the Pro model. It is expected that the Vivo X60 could have a quad rear camera setup, which includes: a 48 MP main sensor with an f/1.48 lens, two 13 MP lenses for ultra-wide and portrait snapping, and an 8MP telephoto sensor.

9. Poco F2 and X3 Pro (February/March):

Earlier, the leak suggested that the Poco F2 will not be a flagship phone, but an upper mid-range phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 732G chipset, similar to the Poco X3. Although, recently a popular tipster and YouTuber have revealed some exclusive information about the device saying that Poco F2 will not arrive with the Snapdragon 732G chipset. But, we’ve not confirmed yet on which SoC the successor of the Poco F1 will run. As of now, we’ve not got any confirmed spec from the company itself. We also don’t even know whether the successor of the Poco F1 will be called Poco F2 or F3. A lot of things are still under wraps, waiting to be revealed officially by Poco. (To know more)

Ojn the other hand, there is not much we’ve been come to know about the Poco X3 Pro. As per some leaked reports and certifications, it will be a 4G enabled device including the support for dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC. This phone is said to be run the MIUI 12 operating system. But as per those recent certifications and announcements, it seems like Poco X3 Pro is all set for an imminent launch. 10. Redmi Note 10 series (March):

Previously, the Redmi Note 10 4G has got appeared on the Geekbench website listing by which we’ve come to know that it will run on the Android 10 OS and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC chipset. The model number of this phone is M2010J19SC and if we check its Geekbench scores, then its single-core score is 316, and the multicore score is 1426. Regarding the display, this phone will feature a 6.53-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) IPS LCD waterdrop notch display. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Snapdragon 662 SoC of this phone is paired with 3 different RAM (4GB/6GB/8GB) and internal storage options (64GB/128GB/256GB). Coming to the camera specs, this phone will feature a quad rear camera setup with a primary sensor of 48-megapixels supported by an LED flash. We have no idea regarding the other rear camera sensor till now. For the selfies, this phone sports an 8 selfie snapper at the front. In terms of battery, the Redmi Note 10 4G is fueled up a 5,900mAH battery. As per the connectivity, this phone will support 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and so on. (To know more)

11. OnePlus 9 series (March):

OnePlus 9 series is expected to arrive in March and there are a lot of leaks and rumors spreading all over the internet. From leaked images to rumored specifications the OnePlus 9 series still seems to be a mystery to us. The recent leak of the OnePlus 9 Pro had surfaced which reveals the partnership of the smartphone brand with Hasselblad for its cameras. As per the OnePlus 9 lineup, there will be a total of three smartphones: OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 SE, and the OnePlus 9 Pro.

As per reports, the vanilla and the pro model will be fueled up by a 4,500mAH battery and in terms of camera section, there will be two big camera sensors and two small, which combinedly form a quad-rear camera system that seems to be capable of doing better than its previous generations.

In the camera section, we can expect wide-angle view and other zooming options along with night view and slow-motion options which are also present. The device seems to have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It will have both FHD+ and QHD+ display options with a 120Hz refresh rate, that can be switched with 60Hz as well. The phone will retain the ringer-silent toggle switch button at the right side of the device above the power button. Seemingly, the phone has a plastic body design.

12. Oppo F19/ Find X3 series (March):

Earlier, it was expected that Oppo will launch its F19 series in February, but this time, it seems to get delayed as it is likely to be launched in March. Specifications are not confirmed yet.

The leaks reveal that the Oppo Find X3 Pro will be powered by the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and will also run on the latest operating system, Android 11 OS with Color OS 11 UI. Regarding the display, this phone is said to have a 6.7-inch OLED panel with 3216 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and an adaptive refresh rate that varies from 10Hz to 120Hz.

Oppo Find X3 Pro

The SoC of this phone will be paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. We have no information on whether it is expandable or not. Coming to the camera section, this phone is expected to offer a quad rear camera setup on its back including a primary sensor of 50MP (Sony IMX766) (as per earlier reports) with some interesting features like 25x “microscope” macro zoom. 13. Asus ROG Phone 5 (March):

As per the Geekbench listing, we’ve come to know that this phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and will run on the latest Android 11 OS. In terms of Geekbench scores, this phone has managed to bag 1125 points in the single-core and 3714 points in the multi-core. There is expected to be a 8GB RAM variant as well of this phone which was spotted in Geekbench back in December.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Upcoming smartphone launches in February/March 2021

The TENAA listing suggests that the ROG Phone 5 will have a massive 6.78-inch display, probably an OLED panel supported by a higher refresh rate. Regarding the dimension, this phone measures 172.834 x 77.252 x 10.29mm (as per TENAA).

As per the 3C certification, the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 5 will be fueled up by a massive 6,000mAH battery supported by 65W of rapid fast charging. Apart from all these, another interesting thing we might see in the Asus ROG Phone 5 is it might have a secondary display on its back (as per some leaked images of the phone). In terms of the camera module, this phone is expected to have a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor.

14. Black Shark 4 (March):

The released poster has confirmed that the Black Shark 4 will be fueled up by a 4,500mAH battery supported by 120W of superfast charging technology. The poster confirmed more that with this superfast 120W charging, the device could be charged completely in less than 15 minutes.

Upcoming smartphone launches in February/March 2021

As of now, we’re confirmed about the vanilla model of the upcoming Black Shark 4 but ascertain about the Pro variant of it. As per releasing its teaser poster, it seems that the Black Shark 4 may go official in early February. The company has not revealed any of its other specifications. We’ll keep you posted whenever the company shares something more about it.

The earlier launched Black Shark 3S arrived with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) AMOLED display and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
