The 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate delivers stunning visuals, setting a new standard for display quality in its category. Also, the quality of the display is just stunning, not the industry best, however, it is adequately bright, crisp, and sharp to see your everyday movies, Netflix, YouTube, and other things.

Performance

Powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 7050 processor, the Blaze Curve 5G ensures seamless multitasking, faster gaming, and an overall smooth app experience. With 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB (extendable to 16GB virtually), this smartphone offers ample space for your data and applications.

From the Geekbench result, it is clear that the Lava Blaze Curve 5G is very capable of all your daily needs, from browsing Facebook to using it for gaming, I was surprised to see how smooth this budget phone could be. Thanks to the 120Hz display, you can feel the smoothness overall when you scroll through the screen or do your work. Overall, in terms of performance, you cannot get wrong.

Camera

Equipped with a Super 64MP Triple Rear Camera featuring a Sony sensor and EIS support, the Blaze Curve 5G captures vivid details and rich colors. The 32MP front camera ensures stunning selfies, completing the photography experience. Here, we have taken extensive camera samples in various lighting conditions for various subjects for your reference:

In the portrait shots in the daylight scenario, the Lava Blaze Curve 5G does give some good shots with nice background blur, however, sometimes the edge detection may go wrong. The color reproduction is also quite good, and overall, the Portrait mode in the daytime gives good results.

While taking normal daytime shots, sometimes the 64MP primary camera gives crisp shots with good colors, however, in the zoom or ultra-wide modes, the quality might get compromised. The post-processing of the phone could be improved further, however, in most cases, the output is decent.

As you can see in these samples, the ultra-wide camera and zoom might be a bit inconsistent, but they get the job done.

During nighttime or even in selfies, the camera of this Lava Blaze Curve 5G gives good performance with good edge detection most of the time. For the price, I would say, the phone gives a decent bang for the buck in terms of camera, however, the post-processing can be improved over time!

Audio and Multimedia

The inclusion of stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos enhances the audio experience, delivering immersive sound quality for multimedia content. I enjoyed playing endless music on this Lava Blaze Curve 5G with minimal distortion, and though the quality was nothing extraordinary, I enjoyed it!

Blaze Curve 5G

Software and Battery

The device comes with a clean Android 13.0 experience, free from bloatware and unwanted notifications. Users can also look forward to assured upgrades to Android 14 and 15, along with quarterly security updates for 3 years. The 5000mAh battery combined with the 33W charger ensures fast charging, providing convenience for users on the go. Also, in my experience, the phone should comfortably last for over 2 days.

Also, with some cool features like App Cloner, Hide App, Background YouTube Stream, Alternate Dialer, and a lot of features under Special Function, the Blaze Curve 5G will surely give a great software experience.

Industry-First Service Assurance

One standout feature is the industry-first approach of offering free service at home during the warranty period, ensuring prompt resolution of any hardware or software issues.

Connectivity and Miscellaneous Features

The Lava Blaze Curve 5G supports dual SIM (5G + 5G) functionality, Wi-Fi 6, USB-C connectivity, and a range of sensors for an enhanced user experience. I tried Jio True 5G on this, and I was comfortably getting good 5G speed, which goes to show how good this phone is, and also that the Wi-Fi speeds are quite good.

Blaze Curve 5G

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Lava Blaze Curve 5G sets a benchmark for smartphones in its segment, offering a compelling combination of design, performance, camera capabilities, and service assurance. With its competitive pricing starting at Rs 17,999, this smartphone is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian smartphone market.

Overall, the Lava Blaze Curve 5G represents a significant leap forward in smartphone technology and is poised to redefine consumer expectations in the segment. This is a very well-balanced phone, and for its price, Lava is offering one of the best phones in 2024!
