Lava is set to launch a new smartphone in its Shark series in India, introducing a 5G variant of the Lava Shark that was originally unveiled in March 2025 with 4G connectivity. The new Lava Shark 5G will hit the shelves on May 23 and is a significant improvement over its predecessor. The smartphone is rumored to arrive as Lava Shark 5G, as per some of the leaks.

The next smartphone will include LPDDR4X RAM – it helps for faster multitasking, better app switching, and memory management. This advancement in RAM technology will improve everyday use, especially for users who take in a great deal of content on the move, such as social media, video streaming, and communication apps. Under the hood, the Lava Shark 5G will be driven by a processor that apparently scores more than 400,000 points in the AnTuTu V10 benchmark application, hence it should offer great performance for its price range.
On the back, the phone will feature a 13MP AI-powered main camera, which should be capable of shooting detailed and clear images in different lighting conditions. Durability is also addressed with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, offering protection against everyday splashes and dust exposure. Lava is looking to price this phone below the ₹10,000 price point bracket, appealing to those who are making the transition from feature phones or upgrading from older entry-level smartphones to a new age 5G-enabled device.
The Lava Shark 5G will come in Gold and Blue, as per the leaked reports and images. It has a square camera housing that contains two circular camera sensors and one circular LED flash. The power button and volume controls are located on the right side of the device for easy access. The smartphone could be powered by Unisoc T765 SoC, and it could come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It’ll even ship with the brand new Android 15 operating system, so users will still get a software freshening up.
