Jumanji Open World: Trailer, Cast and Release Date

Jumanji: Open World gets a new trailer ahead of its Christmas 2026 release. Here’s everything about Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan’s final adventure.

Jumanji: Open World Trailer Promises One Final Game

The game is no longer staying inside the console. Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for Jumanji: Open World, teasing a final adventure where the chaos of Jumanji spills directly into the real world.

The latest preview carries the tagline “Our world. New rules. One final game.” and brings back fan favourites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 25, 2026, making it one of the major Christmas movie releases of the year.

The official synopsis confirms the central twist: after previously entering the dangerous world of Jumanji, the characters now have to deal with the game breaking free from its console and unleashing its dangers in the real world.

Jumanji: Open World Takes the Franchise Outside the Game

The previous films largely revolved around characters being transported into the Jumanji game. Open World changes that formula by bringing the game itself into reality.

The new trailer suggests that familiar avatars, dangerous creatures and unpredictable challenges are no longer confined to the virtual jungle. This creates a completely different situation for the returning characters and raises the stakes for what is being promoted as the final chapter of the modern action-adventure trilogy.

TechnoSports previously covered the first Jumanji: Open World trailer, which introduced the idea of Jumanji’s dangers breaking into the real world.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Original Team Return

The core cast is back for the new adventure. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan reprise their roles, with Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito also appearing in the cast.

Jake Kasdan returns to direct the movie. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, while the story continues to be based on Chris Van Allsburg’s original Jumanji book.

Jumanji: Open World Release Date

Jumanji: Open World is officially scheduled to release in cinemas on December 25, 2026. Sony’s official movie website and current theatrical listings confirm the Christmas Day release.

The Christmas release gives the movie a major holiday window, potentially making it an attractive choice for families and fans looking for an action-comedy adventure during the festive season.

TechnoSports previously reported on the film’s first trailer and its real-world Jumanji concept.

Why the New Trailer Matters

The biggest attraction of Jumanji: Open World is the change in the franchise’s formula. Instead of simply sending people into the game, the movie brings Jumanji into their world.

With the returning cast, Jake Kasdan back in the director’s chair and the film being promoted as the final installment of the rebooted trilogy, expectations are high.

The countdown has officially begun. Jumanji: Open World arrives in theatres on December 25, 2026.
