Qualcomm announced 100W+ Quick Charge 5 that can charge 50% in 5 minutes

Qualcomm has announced the Quick Charge 5 a couple of days back and it is now a trending news. Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 is the successor of the QC4 which was introduced back in 2017 and now the company wants to reclaim the title of fast charging with this new Quick Charge 5 that can provide 100W+ power to a smartphone. The claims are sky high from Qualcomm and let’s discuss about what the brand has done with this charger.

The charger can charge 50% of a dual cell 4,500mAh battery in just 5 minutes. Well, that’s some kind of insane power for a charger. Even previously we have seen, Oppo and Realme are also going to launch another 125W charger that can charge 33% in just 3 minutes. Nubia has also announced its 120W charger yesterday.

The company claims that this charger can fully charge the battery in just 15 minutes while keeping the Ampere rating from 3.3A to 5A or even higher if needed while the minimum Voltage needed in this case is 20V. QC5 (Quick Charge 5) is built on top of USB Power Delivery PPS but it is also compatible with QC2 or later, it can even support iPhone 7 or higher models.

Quick Charge 5 features 8 levels of voltage protection, 3 levels of current protection, 3 levels of thermal protection and 3 timer protections, plus overvoltage protection at 25 V. The charge controller chip inside the device will decide how much power is perfectly needed for the phone to charge at maximum speed while keeping the temperature of the battery in count.

Qualcomm also unveils two charge controller chips – SMB1396 and MSB1398 which can b used by the smartphone manufacturers. The company expects QC5 supported phones will arrive as soon as in the third quarter (Q3) of the year. Though this charger works perfectly for two cell devices but according to the choice of the brand if the smartphone is built around 1 cell battery then the charge will be limited to 45W which is also pretty fast.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 865+ will support the QC5 but this doesn’t mean that all the smartphones with these chipsets will support it now but they need to be paired with the charge controller chips as well. Qualcomm has also shared some of the devices that support this QC5 in their website which are – Samsung Galaxy S20 5G, LG V30, and Nokia 8.

The laptop features a 14-inch display, which you can choose from an FHD 120Hz panel or FHD 60Hz panel or a 1440p screen at 60Hz. The laptop’s display also supports AMD’s FreeSync technology that synchronizes the framerate and the refresh rate. It features really thin bezels, creating an 85% screen-to-body ratio that makes these screens feel larger.

The laptop also promises 10 hours of battery life on normal usage, and its already proven by many reviewers out there, along with Type-C charging.

The Zephyrus G14 also features Dolby Atmos technology and wireless networking options with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) connectivity, also known as 802.11ax. This is the first-ever ROG laptop to feature an ErgoLift hinge that tilts the keyboard at a more comfortable angle. Manchester City launch an awareness video to prevent drought: ‘The end of Football, the year is 2045’

Premier League club Manchester City has been filming an awareness video to save water in order to save the world. But the filming was impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

The video has been made in collaboration with Manchester City’s official water technology partner, Xylem. The video has been finally released on Tuesday.

Manchester City wrote: “What the pandemic has shown us is how fragile our world really is. So now more than ever, let’s protect our future by taking simple steps to use water more sustainably.”

In the video, City shows that in the year 2045, we face severe drought and football stadiums among many other things are about to close. They are about to play their last football match in their Ethiad stadium as football is about to end.

Interestingly, the video shows Phil Foden as the manager of Manchester City in 2045. Sergio Aguero also holds a special place in the hearts of the fans, which is clearly depicted in the video.

The last line of the video says: “By 2045, we are predicted to face severe drought, but if we act now, we can save our future and the game we love”.

Manchester City has done a great job in spreading awareness to save water in order to prevent drought. Let’s come together and save our future!

India’s leading e-commerce giant has launched a new hyperlocal service – ‘Flipkart Quick’ that allows you to order any item from local Flipkart hubs in just 90 minutes. Flipkart has been the pioneer when it comes to homegrown technological advancements, with its investments from Walmart, Flipkart is trying to expand its local reach.

After the rise of e-commerce giants, many of the local businesses have taken a major hit and this is likely to increase in this pandemic as people prefer to buy online rather than stepping out of their home. So, local shops and kiranas are to an extent feeling this effect but Flipkart with its technology and supply chain infrastructure wants to refine this for the betterment of both.

We have seen this model adapted by Amazon, while it plans to start in India, Flipkart will now provide consumers with a handpicked assortment of more than 2,000 products in categories varying from groceries, dairy and meat products, mobiles, electronics accessories, stationery items, and home accessories in the first phase.

The hyperlocal delivery model will not only help for faster deliveries but also help the neighborhood Kirana stores, almost like what Swiggy or Zomato does with its food orders. With Flipkart Quick, consumers will be able to order in the next 90 minutes or even book a 2-hour slot as per their convenience.

Even if someone places an order at any time of the day, will get their orders delivered between 6 am to midnight, however, one has to pay a minimum delivery fee of ₹29. As for now, Flipkart Quick is available in Bangalore only that too in areas including Whitefield, Panathur, HSR Layout, BTM Layout, Banashankari, KR Puram, and Indiranagar. In the next few months, Flipkart promises to expand its service over other cities.

“With Flipkart Quick – our Hyperlocal capability, we have the potential to bring together the whole network of neighborhood Kirana stores onto our platform with just a click,” Sandeep Karwa, Vice-President, Flipkart said.

Sandeep said that their hyperlocal delivery model will be well received by Indian households who already used to their neighborhood Kirana stores. “In fact, Indian families are so comfortable with what we call the ‘hyperlocal context’, that there is a tendency to develop deep, familial ties with vendors, shopkeepers and service providers – now with the convenience of e-commerce,” he said.

Much like what Ola, Uber, or even food delivery apps like Zomato or Swiggy do, Flipkart Quick will also adopt a latitude and longitude approach shredding the previous pin-code system, helping to narrow down the location to be much more precise, helping in sharper delivery times.

Obviously, playing with legends like Zidane, Maldini, Pele, Beckham has elevated the level of Fifa Ultimate Team since FIFA 16. In fact, FUT has become one of the biggest game features of the FIFA series.

Samsung is now back to the audio market with its two new weapons named AKG Y600 NC and AKG Y400. It’s expected both this will give a strong head to head to its opponents.

In this AKG Y600 NC, the company focused on the active noise cancellation and added more on top of that. The smart ambient mode is one of those, it allows external sounds to come through the mic and you can hear that along with the tracks. Besides, the TalkThru option is also there to bring down the volume of your tracks automatically when you start any conversation. When you take off the headphone, the track will automatically be paused and resume when you wear that again.

Besides you can adjust the volume by winding ear cups, activate the voice assistant by tapping twice the physical power button, and more. For comfort, Samsung made the cups of memory foam and the provide leather ear cushions.

There is a 40mm driver for your better listening experience and the over-the-ear headphone has the frequency response range of 10Hz to 24kHz. I already said about the ANC and if you keep it activated, the headphone will go for 25 hours long. You can get a top-up of 4 hours for only 10 minutes of charge. It’s another one, the design is only deference you can notice at a glance. Yah, the price is also there. But many of the features are the same as the AKG Y600 NC. The commons are the ambient aware, TalkThru mode, autoplay and pause, volume controllability from the ear cups, and the Type-C charging port.

The differences are the absence of ANC, 36mm driver, frequency response range from 20Hz to 20kHz, 20 hours of battery life, and obviously the price.

This AKG Y400 is also available on Samsung UK store at 109 Pounds and the color variants are Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Rode Gold.
