Pixel 4a 5G to unveil in India on October 9: officials

A couple of days ago, Google unwrapped its latest budget smartphone, dubbed as Google Pixel 4A 5G. The company has fixed the price of that device at $499. This phone a variant of the budget phone it released back in August that supports 5G networks during its “Launch Night In” fall hardware event.

Recently, another official news has come from the company that they will unveil the Google Pixel 4a 5G in India on October 9 this year. Google has not given any information on whether they will launch it in India or not. We will get to know further on October 9.

If we consider India’s smartphone market, then Pixel 4a will bring a huge impact on it. As it is a 5G smartphone, and it is expected that Google will set a mid-range budget for it in India, this smartphone will seek more buyers’ attention. Google Pixel 4a 5G and OnePlus Nord will be great competitors in the upcoming days in India. We hope that Google will launch this 5G mid-range smartphone in India very soon. The Google Pixel 4a runs on the latest Android 11 OS and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC chipset. The chipset is the same as the newly announced Google Pixel 5. Coming to the display, this phone offers a 6.2-inch (2340 x 1080) OLED panel in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which features a hole-punch selfie camera. This phone features a larger screen over the standard 4A’s 5.8-inch display.

The Snapdragon 730G SoC is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can also be expanded externally via a micro-SD card. This phone features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. This version doesn’t have wireless charging or water resistance facilities.

Coming to the battery, this phone is fueled by a 3140mAh battery with the support of 18W fast charging. This phone has every other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type C, stereo speakers, and so on. Most importantly its phone supports 5G connectivity.

Now coming to the most interesting part of any Pixel smartphone, which is the camera. The Google Pixel 4a features a dual rear camera setup which includes 12MP+8MP sensors. An 8MP front camera is housed in the punch-hole cut on the display.

Regarding the price and availability, Google Pixel 4A 5G will be available first in eight countries (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States) in November. In contrast, it will launch in Japan on October 15th at a price tag of $499.

The Cupertino giant has specifically highlighted its new commitment, which states that it has taken to help conserve the environment.

It has decided to sell its devices without any charge adapter. The news is framed to be one of the company’s moves towards sustainable and eco-friendly packaging. The company claims that by not selling chargers, the overall size of the packaging is reduced, allowing the company to export more packages, which reduces the number of cargo carriers and reduces fuel consumption.

One might argue that this is another money-making scenario of the Cupertino giant. The company is sure known for its extreme policies and for not backing down when making a profit.

However, Apple’s commitment to the environment is no joke

When asked about why the company decided to go charger-less, it stated, “We know that customers have been accumulating USB power adapters and that producing millions of unneeded adapters consumes resources and adds to our carbon footprint.”

The company also stated that users don’t necessarily need new chargers with their devices. Its customers have accumulated plenty of chargers over the years; some even don’t use the company’s new chargers.

Thus the company finally decided to call it quits for its in-box chargers. Whether this is a money-making scheme or a step towards environment conservation is hard to guess. But our verdict says it’s a bit of both.

Sony’s much-anticipated PS5 is already available for pre-order and will go on sale in November. The next generation is already a fan favourite compared to other competitions like Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S. with Sony finally trying something new with PS5, that is adopting the DualSense controller for the console. Anticipation for the next-gen console keeps rising.

While we wait to get our hands on the new console from Sony, the PlayStation 5 has just made its first appears in alleged leaked images online. The photos show the “naked” console in the background along with its white side panel.

While one might be happy to see finally see the actual physical images of the console. The images have raised severe questions regarding the cooling system sported by the console.

The images surfaced online seem to reveal a “naked” PlayStation 5 console inside. The photos were taken on one of the white side panels of the console. It is believed by many that there is an undiscovered PS5 hidden in the background.

However, the consoles exposed fan has created a controversy online.

The image has sparked a heated discussion online because of the picture of the console’s cooling system.

Some people believe that the fans are not enough to cool such a powerful piece of hardware. Other’s believe that the fans might sound like a ‘jet take-off’ pun intended.

But still, these are just images. It is still too soon to rule out the possibility that the fans in the leaked images are just component fans and not the actual piece of hardware in question.

Sony, however, has assured its customers that PS5’s cooling system is very much capable of dealing with the heat dissipation problem inside the console.

The other components leaked in the images include a white strip above the fan. This is probably for the NVMe SSD, and the metal plate on the left side of the device is perhaps for the Blu-ray PS5 drive.

But the images are claimed to be ‘forged’ by many on social media.

Whether the images are forged or real, whether the PS5 really has a disappointing cooling system? All the many questions will be answered once Sony finally moves forward with its upcoming PS5 teardown. Till then be tuned.

O2 becomes third 5G network provider in Germany

O2 UK, an telecom service provider in the United Kingdom, started its 5G network service this Saturday. It becomes third to provide this new generation service after Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone. In the beginning, the 5G network is covering a total of 150 locations in the five largest German cities.

The city list includes Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, and Cologne. Though, the network is ready to go, will be available to customers from 6th October.

The transmission frequency of O2 is 3.6GHz that allows up to 1Gbit/second of speed theoretically. Nevertheless only up to 300Mbit/s is currently accessible as O2 still has to exploit the whole potential. In the coming days, the service provider needs to hike up its offerings as the internet speed is increasing. To be clear, only half an hour is enough to use up 60GB of 5G data.

Among the 5G tariffs, O2 Free L or O2 Free Unlimited Smart costs 39.99 euros, and it’s the cheapest one that provides 60GB of data. After full consumption, the speed reduced to 10Mbit/s.

The upcoming GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU from NVIDIA will be launching for the desktop in the coming days, and even before that, its mobile variant shows up in a leaked image. The graphics processor codenamed GN20-E5-A1 refers to the GA104 GPU, the same found on the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards.

So, the new RTX 3070 will be the first mobile GPU of Nvidia’s new RTX 30-series lineup and will feature GDDR6 memory. As we see in the picture, multiple SK Hynix VRAM modules surround the GPU die, labeled as H56C8H24AIR.

It is being speculated by Videocardz that the RTX 3070 mobile will feature 8GB GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit bus. It will be interesting to see how many CUDA cores the new mobile GPU sport as its desktop counterpart features 5888 CUDA cores.

As for now, the most likely launch date of the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Mobile GPU series is around CES 2021. The first-gen RTX GPUs were not convincing on the mobile front as none could actually enjoy ray tracing on gaming laptops; however, with major improvements on the RTX 30-series, things can change honestly.

Manchester United has been a long term admirer of England international Jadon Sancho. They have made him their transfer priority this summer, though United haven’t been able to come to an agreement with Dortmund.

Former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney has now expressed his views on this matter. He wrote in his The Sunday Times column about who should be United’s No. 1 transfer target.

Rooney wrote: “Jadon Sancho is a top player, but I find it odd that he has been Manchester United’s transfer priority. Why consider paying close to £100 million for someone similar to talent you’ve got already? United have Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial and where would Sancho’s arrival leave Mason Greenwood, who plays in the same position and is of similar age?”

“I’d rather put that £100 million towards trying to get Harry Kane. Yes, getting Kane out of Tottenham would be difficult, maybe impossible, but United are a club who should always make an effort to sign the very best players and Kane is exactly what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs, as is Erling Haaland, who United missed out on last year — a genuine No 9.”

Manchester United have now almost signed former PSG player Edison Cavani on a free transfer. So there problem with a genuine No 9 is somewhat sorted atleast for now.

But what Rooney said in his column is a matter of concern. United already have Rashford who is a similar talent to Sancho. Mason Greenwood is also developing into a star but if United signs Sancho, Greenwood wouldn’t be getting chance in the first team regularly.

Rather than spending millions, United can, however, focus on developing Greenwood and meanwhile striking a deal for a few defenders, preferably a left-back and a centre-back. This would give solidity to their defence and give their midfielders and attackers more chance of controlling the game.

Jean-Clair Todibo joined Barcelona in January 2019 from Toulouse. The 20-year-old centre-back was deemed to be a future prospect.

He was sent out on loan to Schalke in the second half of last season. He made 10 appearances in all competitions and has now returned to Barcelona.

But sadly, Todibo isn’t in the plans of new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman. He has chosen Pique and Lenglet as his first choice centre-backs with Araujo and Ramos Mingo as back up. Eric Garcia is also rumoured to be on his way to Barcelona. So, Koeman wouldn’t be able to give the young France international enough game time.

Premier League side Fulham are interested in signing the young defender and are willing to pay as much as €18m.

Todibo will be surely going out of Camp Nou this summer. As the transfer deadline day approaches, he is now evaluating his options carefully.

According to ‘RAC 1’, Borussia Dortmund is the latest team to join the bid for Todibo, They have seen him play in the Bundeslga for Schalke last season. Dortmund is probably the best club in Europe for nurturing young talents.

It now remains to be seen whether Todibo would go to a low-ranked Premier League club or to a club who regularly plays in the Champions League and has one of the best young teams in Europe.

According to multiple reports in Europe Manchester United is finally going to sign one of their targets within the next few hours. Manchester United was linked with Edinson Cavani for a long time.

Edinson Cavani is a free agent this season. He left Paris Saint-Germain this June after his contract expired. The Uruguayan striker was not happy at PSG as he became irregular in the starting line-up. PSG manager Thomas Tuchel favoured Argentine striker Mauro Icardi.

Cavani joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. In his 7 seasons for the French Club, he has scored 200 goals in 301 appearances.

Earlier Cavani wanted a three-year contract worth €10million-a-season (£8.8m). But Benfica was not ready to sign the striker at a high wage. After that, some of the other European clubs become interested in the Uruguayan forward.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Edinson Cavani wants a ‘long term deal + more than €10m/season as wages + huge agents fee’. But United was not interested to sign him if he doesn’t want to negotiate with wages and agent fees. As per final reports, Edinson Cavani is flying to England today to complete his medicals and the deal. He has agreed to take less than €10m/season.

Edinson Cavani will be a good addition to the Manchester United squad. He is a proper centre-forward which Manchester United was lacking since last season. If the deal happens then he will face his old club Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League group stage tie on 20th October which could be his first match in United Jersey as well.

Bakayoko set to join Napoli on loan from Chelsea

After loan spells at AC Milan and former club AS Monaco, Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to join Napoli on loan for the 20/21 season. The news comes on the back of the French midfielder’s return to Chelsea following a spell back in France. 

The defensive midfielder made an ambitious switch to Chelsea for €40 million following an impressive stint at Monaco, during which he managed to win the 16/17 Ligue 1 title. 

A deal looks set for Bakayoko at Napoli and the player is now set to fly to Naples to complete his medical and sign the contract which will see him spend the 20/21 season in the heart of the park at Napoli.

Bakayoko still has time on his side, and the 26-year-old could still manage to move past his disastrous move to Chelsea and show his talents on the pitch.

Hertha Berlin, Valencia and PSG were also rumoured to be in the race for the Frenchman, but Gennaro Gattuso’s side are the winners for the signature of the midfielder. 

Having formerly played for AC Milan, the midfielder is no stranger to the style of play in Italy. However, it will be interesting to see how Gattuso integrates Bakayoko into his midfield, especially following the departure of Allan to reunite with former Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti at Everton. 

Napoli have agreed on a straightforward loan deal for Bakayoko with no option to buy, which seems a change from the rumours that Chelsea were willing to include an option for their failed prospect to leave permanently.

On the other side of the pitch, Fabrizio Romano has denied rumours that Marcos Alonso will be leaving Chelsea to reunite with Antonio Conte at Inter Milan. 

After the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City, Alonso looks set for a squad role with the England international being the prefered choice at the back for Frank Lampard.

We end our weekend and Super Sunday with another barn burner as Chennai Super Kings will take on Kings XI Punjab.

During the initial days of the IPL, nobody would have thought these two teams to be at the bottom of the points table. However, that’s exactly what happened as both of these teams find themselves at the bottom with only one win in four matches.

CSK is coming off another disappointing loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The loss marked their third consecutive loss. KXIP, on the other hand, is coming off another disappointing 48 run loss against the Mumbai Indians. Both the teams will desperately need this win.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK found probably their best combination in the last match with the return of Ambati Rayadu and Dwayne Bravo. Bravo extended their bowling lineup and also added depth to their batting. However, their top-order couldn’t deliver. They would be happy about their skipper MS Dhoni showing form. Ravindra Jadeja played well for a fifty as well.

CSK’s bowling has looked decent. Their spinners are lowly regaining form and momentum.

KXIP have been putting phenomenal performances, however, failing to put it together completely as a team. They are a top-order dominant team, therefore, if KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal fail, the entire team falls under pressure. Glenn Maxwell will have to step up his game.

KL Rahul will have to evaluate his bowling options. Having 8 overs from part-timers Jimmy Neesham and Gowtham proved to be extremely expensive in their last match. They may consider bringing back Murugan Ashwin and even Chris Jordan.

KL RAHUL (10.5) (VC) – Rahul has been extremely consistent in this IPL with a fifty and a century. He has been a run machine and will be our vice-captain.

MAYANK AGARWAL (9) – Agarwal is probably in the best purple patch of his life.

AMBATI RAYADU (9) – Rayadu will look to continue from his match-winning inning in his first match before the injury.

SHANE WATSON (9.5) – Watson has been getting some good starts. However, he’ll have to convert them into something big.

SAM CURRAN (8.5) – Curran bowled really well and also scored a match-winning cameo in their first match against MI. Dhoni likes the idea of promoting him depending upon the situation.

DWAYNE BRAVO (9) – Bravo gives CSK with 4 solid overs. He’s also a handy batsman in the lower-middle order.

RAVINDRA JADEJA (9) – Jadeja converted his starts into a big fifty in the last match against SRH. His bowling has been gaining momentum as well.

MOHD. SHAMI (9) – Shami looked phenomenal with his spell where he picked up 3 wickets in the first match and bowled well in the second as well.

DEEPAK CHAHAR (8.5) – Chahar has been contributing with crucial wickets especially in the powerplay overs.

RAVI BISNOI (8) – Bishnoi impressed everyone with his dynamic leg-spin.

PREDICTION

CSK seem to have found their best combination. It didn’t work in their last match due to tight SRH bowling. However, KXIP do not have the same steam in their pace bowling. Bravo has added depth to their batting and bowling as well. CSK will therefore defeat KXIP.
