Big 6 managers lament three subs rule in the Premier League

0

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been joined in his demands for the reintroduction of the five subs rule by Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Chelsea’s Frank Lampard.

The cry that echoes among all the three managers is that of ‘protecting the players.’ Their calls for more substitutions are mostly fuelled by the packed schedule that the players are subjected to.

The pressure is even more for the teams competing in Europe, as their players have to play twice per week at the very least. The fact that the Champions League and Europa League allow five substitutions and the Premier League doesn’t creates a gap between the two competitions, with managers clearly preferring one over the other.

The impact of the hectic schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic has been felt heavily in some of the biggest teams in Europe in the form of injuries. Especially the niggling injuries that have plagued the big teams, keeping the big stars off the pitch.

Sergio Aguero and Fabinho are some of the most recent examples of superstars that have been ruled out of the side due to the hectic schedule.

As with all important decisions in the Premier League, a vote had been conducted to decide whether the five subs rule would carry on to the 20/21 season.

The motion was not passed due to the smaller clubs in England placing a very strong argument against the bigger teams in the division.

The teams that usually finish in the bottom half argued that the financially well off teams would have an unfair advantage due to their ability to maintain a bigger and better paid squad than them.

The argument holds true since the financially smaller clubs had a hard time even making up the numbers when the Premier League introduced the five subs rule during the back end of last season.

It is unlikely that the League will change its stance on the issue given a vote did take place. Hence, the man-management skills of the gaffers will be tested during this trying time.

The statement released by the Stiles family reads as follows:

“The Stiles family are sad to announce that Nobby Stiles passed away peacefully today (30/10/2020) surrounded by his family after a long illness.”

“The family kindly ask for privacy at this sad time.”

The former England international managed to earn 28 caps for the three lions and impressively, played every single minute of England’s 1966 World Cup victory, operating in the heart of the park. In his 28 appearances, Stiles only scored 1 goal for England.

Popularly dubbed as the “Toothless Tiger” due to his appearance, Stiles most famously played for Manchester United but also represented Middlesbrough and Preston North End towards the end of his ball-playing days.

He made almost 400 appearances for the Red Devils and acquired a European Cup and two First Division trophies to his name.

Support has been pouring in from all of his compatriots, along with Manchester United players and fans who had the pleasure of looking up to and seeing the player in action.

Sir Geoff Hurst, whose hat-trick helped England to victory over West Germany in the 1966 final, paid a glowing tribute to Stiles.

“Hugely sad to hear Nobby has passed away,” he wrote on Twitter.

“We were playing together way back for the U17s, U23s, and of course, for England, in fact, it was my first cap when Nobby scored, I think he was wearing No. 9!

“Great character, and the heart and soul of the team, he will be sorely missed.”

Nowadays the club presidents and the boards are impatient with their managers and generally change them after a string of bad results.

New AMD Ryzen 7 5800X & Ryzen 5 5600X CPUs dominates Intel in single-core benchmarks

0

The Red team’s latest Ryzen 5000 series processors are based on the revolutionary Zen 3 architecture that promises a great performance uplift up to 26% on the gaming front. This is due to the incredible feat achieved due to the great single-core performance.

These new processors have a new design and a new cache implementation that has helped these chiplets to gain a maximum fast cache memory. All of the processors, be it the budget Ryzen 5 5600X or the mid-range Ryzen 7 5800X, all of these CPUs have gained healthy IPC uplifts.

Although there’s not much gain in multi-core scores, the single-core benchmarks can put Intel to dust. The mid-range Ryzen 7 5800X is scoring about 650 points in single-core tests as per the reliable leaker @TUM_APISAK, which puts the new 8-core CPU above the stack beating the top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-10900K by 11%.

Whereas, the budget Ryzen 5 5600X is the sweet spot because this CPU also beats Intel’s current best offering with 643 points. This should really help in gaming because it’s still very single-core bound, and even if multi-core performance is taken into account, no one can beat AMD.

Coming to shelves on November 5th, the new Ryzen 5000 series is the best offering from AMD for gamers, honestly, and even I am excited to get hands-on it!

AMD Ryzen 5000 series doesn’t seem to stop in crushing intel

0

We already know that AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series is the town’s buzz and has the community going wild because it reportedly clocks higher than Intel’s Core- i9 processors.

According to SiSoftware, the 6-core Zen 3 CPU is 15% to 40% faster than Zen 2 Ryzen 5 3600X, while the 8-core 5800X is 25 to 40% faster than its 3700X.

The Ryzen 5 5600X was even able to overtake 8-core Intel i9-9900K processors, which is a massive win since the 9900K is the leader in gaming CPUs. The Ryzen 7 5800X for its 8-core Zen3 CPU performs like a 12-core Zen2 CPU, such as the Ryzen 9 3900X, leaving 10900K behind in the dust.

SiSoftware conluded its reported on Ryzen 5 5600X with the following details:

Zen3 (6-core) is ~15-40% faster than Zen2 across all kinds of algorithms and gave it a 9/10 rating. “Despite no major architectural changes (except larger 8-core CCX layout and thus unified L3 cache) over Zen2 – Zen3 manages to be quite a bit faster across legacy and heavily vectorized SIMD algorithms, though in the case of the 6-core (aka 5600X) due to its almost identical Turbo compared to old Zen2 (3600XT) it cannot beat it so soundly as the other siblings have as we’ve seen in the other reviews. The Zen2 XTs performance is just too good!”

SiSoftware conluded its reported on Ryzen 7 5800X with the following details:

Zen3 is ~25-40% faster than Zen2 across all kinds of algorithms. The benchmark website offered the processor a whooping of 10/10!

“Despite no major architectural changes (except larger 8-core CCX layout and thus unified L3 cache) over Zen2 – Zen3 manages to be quite a bit faster across legacy and heavily vectorized SIMD algorithms, naturally also soundly beating the competition even with AVX512 and more cores (e.g., 10-core SKL-X). Even streaming algorithms (memory-bound) improve over 20%. We certainly did not expect performance to be this good.”

We already know that AMD purchased the chipmaker Xilinx with a $35 Billion deal and hence stands to become yet more powerful in the coming years. Intel needs to be aware of AMD’s increasing growth if it wants to protect its dominance in the semiconductor market.

Nvidia is planning to release a new SKU with CUDA core: leak

We already know that Nvidia is planning on releasing new GPUs in the market. But the details on the much-awaited GeForce RTX 3000 series is not known. The company has just sent the specifications to its OEM partners because they are expected to outperform the famous RTX 2000 series.

The leaker Kopite7kimi has released details about the cards GeForce RTX Ampere series, and now he has leaked alleged new SKU details. The information provided by the sources claims that the new SKU will fill the performance gap between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 processing cards.

According to sources, the new card will feature 9984 CUDA cores, which are 1280 cores more than what RTX 3080 is offering. The leaker also reports that the GPU variant on this SKU is the GA102-250. The memory configuration is also updated to a 384-bit bus, not to mention that the RTX 3080 only has a 320-bit bus. Having a wider bus means that the card will feature either 12 GB or 24 GB capacity.

The name of the new graphics card or any other species is not confirmed as of now. But according to sources, NVIDIA is also planning to release a new GA102-150 model that will feature 7424 CUDA cores and will most likely be codenamed RTX 3070 Ti.

We have already seen various sources about NVIDIA’s RTX 30 series, and most of these leaks have been proven trustworthy. Remember the performance leak of RTX 3080 Ti? Similarly, it is advised to take this new leak with plenty of water, but a new SKU whose performance surfaces of RTX 3080 will be quite famous among gamers.

Nvidia’s biggest rival, AMD, is already leading the race both in the graphics card market and in the Processor manufacturing market. Nvidia needs to up its game to maintain its dominant position in the market.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 to get introduced with an S Pen, as per the patent drawings

0

After the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung is all set to bring its successor in the market, named the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Several leaks just came out regarding the design of this upcoming foldable smartphone. Recently, WIPO has revealed some of the patent drawings of the Z Fold 3, which shows that this smartphone+tablet will become more versatile with a Galaxy S Pen added to its arsenal.

Credit: LetsGoDigital

If we check out those drawings closely, we find that the S-pen will be added at the bottom right side of the phone, which is quite similar to the Galaxy Note smartphones. But the main thing is that Samsung is using a foldable screen in this device, and again if the company wants a use a stylus, the display has to be pretty much advanced to support each one of them.

As per the reports from Samsung’s home country, the company is looking to use AES (Active Electrostatic Solution) technology for the foldable screen. It will not require a digitizer to work properly.

Samsung has not confirmed anything to use a stylus in the upcoming Z Fold 3. But high expectations are there. The patent was filed in April, which means Samsung has been thinking about adding an S pen with its Galaxy Z Fold from an earlier time.

Unfortunately, we’ve not got this facility in the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, which was introduced last month. But we have some time now as Z Fold 3 has been planned to be launched in the mid (or the second half) of 2021. So, we hope that the company will not disappoint its users again.
