ASUS ROG Showdown at Croma Delhi Boosts India’s Gaming Scene

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) hosted its flagship esports property, ROG Showdown, at Croma’s Odeon Connaught Place store in Delhi, marking another milestone in making competitive esports accessible to India’s young gaming community. The event featured Valorant in 2v2 format, one of the most popular titles among competitive gamers, creating an electrifying atmosphere with live audiences.

ROG Showdown: Retail Meets Esports

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation with teams competing for substantial prizes—₹35,000 for winners and ₹15,000 for runners-up. This retail-based esports format allows gamers to experience ROG devices firsthand while competing, bridging the gap between product demonstration and competitive gaming.

Strengthening India’s Gaming Ecosystem

“Through ROG Showdown, we are not only creating opportunities for gaming enthusiasts to compete and showcase their talent but also building a stronger community around esports in India,” said Paresh Kapadia, Manager – LFR at ASUS India. “Hosting tournaments in partner retail stores like Croma brings competitive gaming excitement closer to consumers while giving them the chance to experience the full potential of ROG devices first-hand.”

The retail integration strategy proves particularly effective as it democratizes esports access. Unlike traditional tournament venues, retail stores offer convenient locations where aspiring gamers can participate without extensive travel or registration barriers.

Croma’s Vision for Gaming Transformation

A Croma spokesperson emphasized the evolving gaming landscape: “Gaming in India is evolving rapidly, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this transformation. Gaming today is a career path and a lifelong passion for many young Indians. Through collaborations with brands like ASUS ROG, we are creating platforms that showcase cutting-edge technology and make esports more accessible.”

With over 560+ stores across 200+ cities, Croma’s extensive retail network provides ROG Showdown significant scaling potential, potentially reaching gaming communities in tier-2 and tier-3 cities where organized esports events remain limited.

Aggressive Expansion Strategy

ROG has executed 24 successful Showdowns this quarter alone, with six specifically hosted in Large Format Retail (LFR) stores. This aggressive expansion demonstrates ROG’s commitment to grassroots gaming development beyond metropolitan hubs, delivering immersive experiences that combine esports competition with retail engagement.
