A Sound Built on Korean Instruments

The campaign unfolds across the Korean Peninsula, New York, Paris and Mumbai, and the score reflects that. Thunderous orchestration is blended with contributions from South Korean post-rock band JAMBINAI and Luna Lee, who plays the gayageum, a traditional Korean stringed instrument. Together they create what the release calls a relentlessly dark and complex backdrop.

What the Composers Say?

Barton said he was thrilled to return nearly 20 years after the first Modern Warfare, calling it a franchise that defined an era of gaming. He thanked the Infinity Ward team and collaborators, many of whom he’s known for two decades.

Graves summed up his multiplayer music in one word: “swagger.” He enjoyed returning to his bass guitar and drum roots, mixing them with live musicians. If your head is nodding, he said, his mission is complete.

About the Game

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is developed by Infinity Ward. In the story, North Korea launches a full-scale invasion that threatens to destabilise the world. A young squad of South Korean soldiers fights on collapsing front lines, while Captain Price wages a personal war from the shadows. The campaign aims for dark, gritty storytelling and cinematic set pieces.

It’s available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC (Battle.net, Xbox on PC and Steam) and Nintendo Switch 2.

Why Game Scores Matter?

Music shapes how a Call of Duty campaign feels, from quiet tension to full-scale chaos. A standalone album lets fans relive those moments, and it’s a good listen for gaming sessions, workouts or focus time.
