Halo Infinite multiplayer is out in the wild – and cheating has already begun

Microsoft’s “Halo: Infinite” multiplayer game mode was released less than two weeks ago. Surprisingly, players employing plug-ins have surfaced on the PC platform, prompting some gamers to propose that appropriate parameters be officially set to restrict PC and console Cross-platform gaming.

According to reports, these plug-ins have automated targeting functions. Cheating in games is more widespread on PC. Of course, consoles exist, and cheating is more widespread in free games than in commercial games.

Players in “Halo: Infinite” are unable to disable the cross-platform gaming capability between PC and Xbox. In qualifying, however, players can select whether they wish to play with mouse and keyboard players or handle players. Although this may result in lengthier match durations, some console gamers configure their games to exclusively play with controller players to meet fewer PC cheats.

Cheating in video games is more common on PC, while it does occur on consoles, and it is more common in free-to-play games than in premium titles. With the discovery of cheating in Halo Infinite, several console gamers are requesting that 343 give the ability to disable crossplay with PC.

Last year, “Call of Duty: Warzone” host gamers shut off their cross-platform connection with their PCs owing to similar issues, according to Computer Home. 343 and Microsoft will go to great lengths to avoid the same reputational harm that “Halo Infinite” suffered. Game firms are fighting a difficult struggle against cheating, but they are hopeful that “Halo: Infinite” will limit cheating as much as possible in the next months.

PC gamers may, of course, utilize controller games in “Halo: Infinite.” Xbox gamers now have no option to avoid playing with PC players that utilize controllers.

“This is one of the reasons many console users choose to not play on PC,” said Redditor Meiie in a post on r/XboxSeriesX titled “Now that cheating in Halo is confirmed on PC, can we have to option to opt-out of cross-play?”

“Besides the ease of playing on console, avoiding PC cheaters has been my biggest reason for not playing on PC. Destiny, Warzone, BF, Apex.. tons of cheaters on PC. Never run into any when playing on console and opting out of cross-play.

“This is important and I think not getting this option now is gonna spiral pretty hard into us players, on console, having to deal with an infestation of cheaters currently on PC.”

343 Industries and Microsoft will be anxious to avoid Halo Infinite experiencing the same fate. In the fight against cheating, game developers have an uphill struggle, but the aim is that Halo Infinite can limit cheating as much as possible in the months ahead.
