8 new rule changes in the Premier League from the 2019-20 season

After the introduction of VAR, the Premier League officials have also introduced 8 new rules which will come into effect from the coming season.

VAR will be fully introduced to the Premier League from the next season in an attempt to provide clarity around contentious incidents and help referees to make better decisions. Football’s governing bodies are always striving to make football a better sport. Now, the Premier League officials have introduced 8 new rule changes in the Premier League from the next season.

Let’s have a look at the 8 new rule changes coming to the Premier League from the 2019-20 season:

Substitutions

Substitutions
To prevent time wasting, the substituted player can leave the pitch now from his nearest point. Rather than having to cross the pitch or make their way back to the dug-out, the player will have to go off at the closest sideline.

Free-kick walls

Free-kick walls
This rule is introduced to prevent unnecessary fouls, which normally goes undetected by the referees. From now on, if there are more than three players in a free-kick wall (so pretty much every free-kick close to the goal) attackers are not allowed within one yard of the wall. This rule change will put an end to the pushing, shoving, pulling and tugging that causes aggravation for almost every referee.

Drop balls

Drop balls
Officially, there will be no more drop balls. An age-old, chaotic method of restarting play is no more. Drop balls are now a thing of history, they are gone from next season. Whoever touches the ball last gets the ball. But it remains to be seen whether that team decides to give the ball back to the other side. Another thing to this rule is that if the play is stopped with the ball in the penalty area, it will restart with the goalkeeper. This rule is certainly bound to cause a bit of controversy.

Goalkeepers during penalties

Goalkeepers during penalties
Goalkeepers have long been menaces when preparing to face penalties, but they will be watched from next season. The goalkeepers cannot touch the goal frame, move along their line, sprint off their line or stand behind the line. They will have to have one boot touching the line. Goalkeepers are also not allowed to feign movement one way in an attempt to bluff the taker.
But it remains to be seen how much movement will be allowed and can a goalkeeper lean one way and dive the other!

Goal kicks

Goal kicks
Till the previous season, a goal-kick was not in play until it left the 18-yard box. If a defender touched it, it was an indirect free-kick and if an attacker touched it the goalkeeper would get the decision.
But from next season, a goal-kick is in play from the moment the ball is kicked. This is a massive change and one that should speed up the game. This is done to counter the high press as the defenders will now be able to collect the ball inside the 18-yard box.

Handballs

Handballs
A goal scored directly from the hand/arm will no longer be allowed. This had long been the case, but even accidental handballs will be punished from next season. If the ball touches an attacking player’s arm in the build-up to a goal – accidental or not – the goal will not count.
But here’s a thing about this rule – this rule does not apply to the defenders in their own box. So a referee, or VAR, will still judge whether a handball was deliberate or not.

Goal celebrations

Goal celebrations
This rule is a direct result of VAR. A player is currently booked for any over-exuberant celebrations, jumping into the crowd or taking a shirt off and so on. And now from next season, players can now be booked for their goal celebration – even if the goal is disallowed later by the referee or VAR.

Card for coaches

Card for coaches
Coaches will now be punished the same way as players. The referees are allowed to brandish yellow and red cards to off-field staff, from the next season.
The new rule also states that the senior coach in the technical area will receive the decided punishment when offending individuals cannot be identified, such as in mass disagreements between backroom staff. So mild-mannered managers can also receive cards if they fail to control their staff – even if they have been minding their own business.

So, these are the 8 new rule changes which the Premier League officials are introducing from the next season. Tell us how you feel or think about these rules in the comments.

Everything to know about Huawei’s Trade ban with the US

World’s second largest smartphone manufacturer Huawei has been suspended to trade with US, what adverse effects could it have?

World’s one of the biggest Tech giants, Huawei has been axed by the US to shut down all its trade with the country off recently. The China-based company has been pioneering the tech industry for a long time with its wide range of products including their major product – smartphones.

The world has shaken up due to the harsh ban on technology trade levied by the US Commerce Department. Actually, they have put Huawei’s name on the Entity List which means the Chinese giant will not be able to buy technology from US based companies without the US government approval.

This in turn has led US companies like Google, ARM, Microsoft cutting off Huawei from accessing their technologies. Well, a lot of things have happened till date, and to make it easier to understand, here’s a complete overview of this major news:

Everything to know about Huawei's Trade ban with the US

Donald Trump government bans Huawei from trading with the US companies

May 15: The US President Donald Trump signed an executive order that enforces the ban of the Chinese Tech giant Huawei from the United States of America.

“The executive order prohibits transactions that involve information and communications technology or services designed, developed, manufactured, or supplied by persons owned by, controlled by, or subject to the jurisdiction or direction of a foreign adversary whenever the secretary of commerce determines that a transaction would pose a threat to national security,” said the US Department of Commerce.

The US-China Trade war had already begun but this is a major blow that will have adverse affect for either of the countries. It was previously thought by US that Chinese smartphone makers especially Huawei tries to steal data and use it for Chinese intelligence, so the mental war had already begun earlier which got a climax at the end.

Google puts a restriction on Huawei’s Android License

May 19: Due to the order, Google had to restrict Huawei’s Android License which means, the smartphone maker cannot officially use Google’s Android OS on its own smartphones and neither will any of their future smartphones will receive future updates and security patches.

Well, Huawei can only use the open source version of Android (AOSP) in its future phones and also the company will lose its access to pre-install most of the Google apps including YouTube and not even use the important Play Store app.

If you are a Huawei smartphone or Honor smartphone user, you need not have to worry because this will take place for the later smartphones, up till Honor 20 series your smartphone will have access to all the latest Google apps.

US grants Huawei a temporary 90 day license

May 20: The US Department of Commerce grants Huawei a temporary license to continue operating its networks as well as other devices. This also means they can work with Google for the span of 90 days.

ARM cuts off its ties with Huawei, Microsoft removes Huawei Laptops from its Store, Google removes Mate 20 Pro from Android Q Beta Program

May 22: On this day a lot things happened honestly, firstly the UK based Chip designing giant ARM cuts off its business with Huawei and all its associate companies like Honor.

Now, this means Huawei’s own HiSilicon chips cannot use ARM’s chipset designs, that can be a huge setback for the company as most of its devices rely on its own manufactured chips which in turn rely on ARM’s chip designs.

Everything to know about Huawei's Trade ban with the US

Microsoft also joined the party of banning Huawei, well, this time they have removed all the Huawei laptops from their own Microsoft Store. Though they haven’t yet banned Huawei from using the Windows OS on their laptops but it may happen due to the current bitter situation.

Google too made sure that the newly released flagship smartphone by the company, the Mate 20 Pro has its access to the Android Q Beta Program get cancelled.

Major Mobile Networks in both Europe and Asia starts suspending orders for Huawei smartphones

May 23: Another blow to the company as the major telecom operators from Europe and Asia starts to suspend orders for Huawei’s smartphones.

  • Vodafone has suspended pre-orders for the 5G version of Mate 20X,
  • EE, another UK carrier prevents from ordering Huawei smartphones,
  • NTT Docomo in Japan said that it will no longer accept pre-orders for the Huawei P30 Lite,
  • Other Japanese telecom operators including KDDI and Softbank Corp. delays the availability of Huawei smartphones

Goldman Sachs predicts Cupertino giant Apple could suffer big loses if China retaliates

May 24: Today, Goldman Sachs analysts have predicted if the situation gets worse and if China retaliates the sale of iPhones in the country due to the inter-country trade war, then it could pose some great loses for the Cupertino Giant.

Apple could suffer a huge loss of about 29% of its profits if China bans the sale of iPhones in the country in the answer of Huawei’s trade ban with the US as China alone accounts for 17% of Apple’s sales.

No more microSD card usage on future Huawei devices

May 24: Huawei was the member of the SD Association that handles the manufacturers and also encourages the use of SD cards as well as microSD in the devices. As Huawei has lost ARM license, so the SD Association has cut ties with the Chinese manufacturer preventing them from using MicroSD Cards

Everything to know about Huawei's Trade ban with the US

China plays a huge role in manufacturing tech products worldwide, most of the US Companies like Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, Apple and others depend on China for manufacturing most of their tech-based products.

“If we made a deal, I could imagine Huawei being possibly included in some form or some part of it.” “You look at what [Huawei has] done from a security standpoint, a military standpoint. Very dangerous,”

Donald Trump, President of USA via BBC

Gradually the US trade ban with Huawei has led major US companies like Google, Microsoft, Intel, Qualcomm, ARM, and other telecom operators in Europe and Asia to cut off all its trade with the Tech giant.

Now, if a big trade war begins and China shuts down all such manufacturing units then, it could affect the whole world’s trade balance.

Upcoming AMD Radeon Navi GPU Specs Leaked

To everyone’s anticipation, the new AMD Navi graphics cards have got some serious leaks before the actual launch (to be held at COMPUTEX 2019 OR E3 2019).

A well-known leaker on Twitter, KOMACHI posted a block diagrammatic representation of the Navi chip but it has now been taken down.

Upcoming AMD Radeon Navi GPU Specs Leaked

Although we have got our hands-on the image which suggests 8 Shader engines, each packing 5 Compute Units to make a total of 40.

This indeed suggests us that the new GPUs will feature 2560 streaming processors, as each of the Compute Unit (CU) contains 64.

Upcoming AMD Radeon Navi GPU Specs Leaked

The Shader Engine count is an important aspect here because we know that AMD’s GCN architecture has been able to stuff a maximum of 4 SEs per die.

This limitation caused the maximum number of streaming processors to be 4096 and ROP count limited to 64.

Technically, NVIDIA’s CUDA Cores are more efficient than the AMD’s Streaming Processors because of its limited 64 Render Output Units. So, to counter NVIDIA, the Red Team needs to increase the number of processors.

Upcoming AMD Radeon Navi GPU Specs Leaked

If the specs go as it’s been leaked, then Navi will supposedly have a total of 128 ROPs and 2560 cores, which we will see for the first time along with faster performance measures.

Also, other specs can be that we can pre-assumed are – 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM paired with a 256-bit bus architecture that results around 400Gb/s of bandwidth.

Well, the date of the launch is approaching as the Keynote of Dr Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, is scheduled at 27th of May 2019 at 10 am Taipei time (GMT+8 hours). Sign up here to watch the live stream.

Top 11 most expensive football transfers of all time

Football transfer fees are increasing almost every single year. The clubs are spending more and more money than ever before in their pursuit of domestic and European success. Let’s have a look at the top 11 most expensive football transfers of all time!

The most expensive football transfer fees have by and large been paid out in the last five years, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2009 move from Manchester United to Real Madrid the only exception in the current top-11 list. Neymar completed his move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for a staggering fee of €222 million in the summer of 2017. The Brazilian is now the most expensive player of all time.

Let’s have a look at the top 11 most expensive football transfers of all time:

Neymar

[1] Neymar – Barcelona to PSG(€222m , 2017)
Neymar currently sits at top of the list for world record transfer fees having moved from Barcelona to Paris St Germain for a record €222m and completely smashed the pervious world record of Paul Pogba’s move back to Manchester United.
Since arriving in France, Neymar has been prolific in front of goal and PSG won the domestic treble in his first season. It was a stroll to the Ligue 1 title in 2018/19 too.
But for the price they paid, PSG need to see some significant progress in the Champions League. Neymar was injured as they were beaten by eventual winners Real Madrid in the last 16 of Neymar’s first campaign in the French capital. He also missed the same stage this season with an injury as PSG famously crashed out to Manchester United.

Mbappe

[2] Kylian Mbappe – Monaco to PSG(€145m (+€35m) , 2017)
The 19-year-old lit up the World Cup this summer, but he hit the headlines in 2017 when he became the most expensive teenager, and the world’s second most expensive player, when he swapped Monaco for fellow French side Paris St Germain. Most of us weren’t alive the last time a teenager did what Kylian Mbappe did at last summer’s World Cup. Not since Pele in 1958 had a teenager scored twice in a World Cup match or scored in a World Cup final. He also became the youngest Frenchman ever to score at a World Cup.
For many people, Mbappe’s performances in Russia confirmed that he is the player who will succeed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best in the world.

Coutinho

[3] Philippe Coutinho – Liverpool to Barcelona(€120m (+€40m) , 2018)
Philippe Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 in search of trophies and acclaim. He left Liverpool in the mid-season which made the Liverpool fans angry. But he got what he desired – two trophies by the end of the season, and plenty of praise for his promising performances. He won La Liga again in 2019.
But it’s strange how quickly things have changed for him. Dembele has prospered recently at Barcelona, whereas Coutinho has struggled. There’s a strong argument right now that this may be one of the worst transfers of all time. He’s neither missed by his old club, who are flourishing without him both domestically and in Europe, nor beloved by his new club, where his place in the starting lineup is in danger.

Dembele

[4] Ousmane Dembele – Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona(€105m (+€45) , 2017)
Barcelona took a leap of faith when they spent over €100m to sign Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. The Frenchman had only spent one season in the Bundesliga, but Barca scouts were convinced that this was a player who could become one of the world’s best.
He isn’t quite in that category yet, but after an injury-ravaged first season at the Nou Camp, Dembele is slowly proving that the faith in him was justified.
Statistics alone cannot convey how impressive Dembele has been, with some of his goals being truly mesmerising.

Pogba

[5] Paul Pogba – Juventus to Manchester United(€105m , 2016)
A lot has changed in the transfer world since Pogba made the move back to Manchester United for a then record €105m. Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t make many mistakes in his illustrious career, but allowing Paul Pogba to leave Manchester United for nothing in 2012 may be one of his biggest. The Frenchman enjoyed a meteoric rise in Italy where he helped Juventus to four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia’s and two Italian Super Cups.
Since returning, Pogba had a decent first year at United, scoring five Premier League goals and notching the winner in United’s 1-0 win over Ajax in the Europa League final. But talks are being mooted that he could be on the move once more with Real Madrid a potential destination.

Ronaldo

[6] Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid to Juventus(€100m , 2018)
Ronaldo called it a day with Real Madrid after picking up his fifth overall and third consecutive Champions League title back in May and he opted for a new challenge in Italy with Juventus. Ronaldo is known for his Champions League heroics so Juventus decided that they wouldn’t mind a piece of the action, and they were prepared to spend big to get it.
The Italian giants have already seen a massive return on his signing – with more ‘Ronaldo 7’ shirts sold than they had throughout the duration of the 2017-18 campaign – before they even started their Serie A 2018-19 campaign.
Of all the players on this list, Ronaldo was the oldest at the time of his transfer, but the 33-year-old appears ageless as he has taken to Serie A like a duck to water – with 21 goals and a Scudetto in his debut season.

Bale

[7] Gareth Bale – Tottenham to Real Madrid(€100m , 2013)
Real Madrid broke their own world transfer record in 2013 when they signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham, surpassing the fee they paid for Ronaldo four years prior.
Bale’s record transfer fee drew comparisons to Ronaldo and he was under immediate pressure to succeed. But injuries marred his first six months. However, a sensational winner against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final was the perfect way to ingratiate himself to his new fans.
Though Bale has struggled to maintain consistent popularity during his time in Spain, he has always had the ability to pop up with important goals in big matches, including the 2014 and 2018 Champions League final goals. But as it seems now, Zidane is going to offload Bale in this summer as he has failed miserably to fill in the boots of Ronaldo.

Ronaldo

[8] Cristiano Ronaldo – Manchester United to Real Madrid(€94m , 2009)
Guess who’s back again in the list? The only man to appear in this list twice is inevitably Cristiano Ronaldo. This will go down as one of the greatest ever transfer despite the high price. Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Real Madrid as one of the best players in the world and left having established himself as one of the best players of all time.
In nine seasons at the Bernabeu, Ronaldo scored a staggering 450 goals in 438 appearances. He won the Ballon d’Or four times during his stay at Madrid, and won every possible trophy at least twice, including four Champions Leagues.
The great rivalry between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi means that this era of LaLiga will always be remembered as one of the greatest periods in football history.

Higuain

[9] Gonzalo Higuain – Napoli to Juventus(€90m , 2016)
This fee raised eyebrows, as it was based mainly on Higuain’s terrific 2015-16 season in which he scored 36 goals in 35 Serie A appearances. It was the highest goals tally in Serie A since 1928/29.
Higuain didn’t quite scale those heights in Turin, though he did score 40 goals in 73 league appearances. In the Champions League, Higuain scored five goals to help Juventus reach the final in 2016/17, but they came up short again, losing to Real Madrid in Cardiff.
After just two seasons at Juventus, Higuain was loaned out to Inter Milan as part of the deal which brought Leonardo Bonucci back and just six months later he was on the move again to join Chelsea.

Lukaku

[10] Romelu Lukaku – Everton to Manchester United(€84.8m, 2017)
Romelu Lukaku can count himself unfortunate to have come in for so much criticism since joining Manchester United in 2017. He averaged nearly a goal every other game in his debut season but was accused of not being mobile enough and only scoring against lesser sides. With 27 goals in all competitions, his debut season was actually the most prolific of Lukaku’s career.
It’s a little more difficult for him nowadays though, and he could find himself moved on again this summer as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s revamp at Old Trafford.

Virgil van Dijk

[11] Virgil van Dijk – Southampton to Liverpool(€84.5m , 2018)
Some people were sceptical when Liverpool smashed their transfer record to make Virgil van Dijk the world’s most expensive defender in January 2018, but 18 months later he is the most important piece of the jigsaw in the Reds’ success. He has also won the PFA Player of the Year in 2019.
With the Dutchman at the back, Liverpool reached the Champions League final two years in a row, and their previously fragile defence is now among the sturdiest in the Premier League. He is rated by many as one of the world’s best centre backs, Van Dijk has shown that a good defender is worth his weight in gold.

Now, let’s have a look at some of the major transfer histories of football:

Mbappe

Most expensive teenager – Kylian Mbappe
After joining PSG, Mbappe not only became the second-most expensive player of all time, he also became the most expensive teenager ever. The Monaco wonder kid joined PSG on a loan-to-buy deal that is worth around €180m after bonuses – not bad for a player who only turned 19 last December!

Virgil van Dijk

Most expensive defender – Virgil van Dijk
Virgil van Dijk became the most expensive defender of all time when Liverpool forked out a fee worth £84.5m to Southampton for the Netherlands international’s services in 2018. His move from the Saints to Anfield completely blew the previous record – David Luiz’s €62.5m move to PSG from Chelsea – out of the water.

Kepa

Most expensive goalkeeper – Kepa Arrizabalaga
For a long time, former Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon held this mark having joined the Turin outfit from Parma for €52m, which is a colossal fee when inflation is taken into account.
Then within a matter of weeks, the record was shattered twice. First Liverpool brought in Roma’s Alisson Becker for €73m, to temporarily take the mark as the world’s most expensive goalkeeper. And then Chelsea matched Kepa Arrizabalaga’s €80m release clause with Athletic Bilbao not even a month later, meaning the Spain international has quickly dethroned Alisson for the No.1 spot in transfer history.

The Interface

After being used to editing on the desktop version of Premiere Pro, this was a different experience all totally. I used the Premiere Pro Clip, which I feel was ok for a mobile point of view.

The intuitive and smooth interface of Premiere Rush made me feel as if I was working on an undercut mobile version of the actual PC software.

I tested out on the Realme 3 Pro to check out the experience on a mid-range smartphone. The app works like a charm on Snapdragon-powered smartphones.

The Adobe Rush retains some essential video editing features that you get on the PC software version.

Borussia Dortmund have started strengthing their squad to challenge the Bundesliga title again in the next season

Borussia Dortmund have already confirmed the signings of Julian Brandt, Nico Schulz and Thorgan Hazard this week as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

Lucien Favre praised Borussia Dortmund’s season despite being disappointed to miss out on the Bundesliga title by just two points. Borussia Dortmund recorded a 2-0 win at Borussia Monchengladbach on the final day of the season, but Bayern Munich thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 to secure the title by two points.

Favre told in a news conference: “It is a disappointment. Sure, we did not give up hope. At one stage it was 1-1 between Bayern and Eintracht Frankfurt, then Bayern immediately scored to make it 2-1. We still believed in it, but most of all we focused on our game, on our task. We did not look much at the other teams’ results.
In the end it is clear that we are a little disappointed by the result of the championship, but we won our game. There was little missing to the title, but we are still very happy with our season.
Nobody would have thought that we would get 76 points. It was tight this season. We haven’t missed much, but overall you can say that we conceded unnecessary goals. But we must not forget that we had good luck in the first half of the season. We turned around some games at the very end. That’s why I always said that we still have much to do.
Let’s see what happens until the next season starts, but of course we always want to have another good season like this, 76 points is not easy to reach, that is clear.”

Borussia Dortmund

Lucien Favre’s magic formula has been a potent mix of youthful exuberance and dogged experience, with streetwise additions like Axel Witsel and Thomas Delaney stoking the Borussia Dortmund midfield engine. English teenager Jadon Sancho has taken the Bundesliga by storm, meanwhile, reaching a level few could have predicted in 2018/19, while super-sub Paco Alcacer has found the net time after time, setting a new record for goals by a Bundesliga substitute. And bringing it all together has been their talismanic captain Marco Reus, the Dortmund native whose heart surely pumps black-and-yellow blood.

Borussia Dortmund after missing out on the Bundesliga title by just two points, have wasted no time after the season end. They have already started to sign new players to strengthen their squad and have a depth in the squad – which is very important if you want to challenge Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title.

Nico Schulz

Lucien Favre felt defensive lapses proved costly for Borussia Dortmund, who conceded 44 league goals – 12 more than Bayern – during the campaign. So to strengthen their defence, Borussia Dortmund have signed Nico Schulz from fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for a reported €25million fee. Schulz has broken into the Germany team since swapping Borussia Monchengladbach for Hoffenheim in 2017 and feels joining Dortmund is a natural next step. Schulz told to Dortmund’s official website: “Borussia Dortmund are a top club whose team plays a football that simply suits me and my style, and I think I can help the team with my way of playing and we can achieve great things together.” Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc added: “Nico Schulz is a defensive player who has made another leap in performance over the past few years and, like the German national football team, we will benefit greatly from his physique, his pace and his extreme dynamism.” Schulz will be reunited with a familiar face in Dortmund as he played under head coach Lucien Favre at Gladbach.

Thorgan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard has also been signed from Borussia Monchengladbach, where he spent five years – the first of which was on loan from Chelsea – and scored 46 goals in 182 appearances in all competitions. He has signed a deal with Borussia Dortmund until 2024 for an initial fee reported to be €25.5million. Hazard said in a statement: “I am grateful for five great years and Borussia Monchengladbach and the very nice memories. This was the perfect time to take the next step in my career. I am proud to play for Borussia Dortmund, a top club with incredible fans.” Michael Zorc added: “We are delighted that Thorgan has decided to join Borussia Dortmund. He is a seasoned Bundesliga professional and Belgium international who will help us with his pace and finishing. He has proven his class in recent years.”

Julian Brandt

Borussia Dortmund have now completed their third signing in two days. They have signed Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen. The German international joins on a contract until 2024 for €25m after Dortmund activated a release clause in the 23-year-old’s contract. Michael Zorc said: “Even though Brandt is already an experienced Bundesliga and international player, he is still young at 23 years old and has still potential to develop. He can play in several attacking positions and will enhance our game with his creativity.”

Jadon Sancho

The 19-year-old winger, Jadon Sancho who arrived at Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest talents. He said: “I’m really happy with how I played this season. I never knew it was going to be like this. From the start I wasn’t really playing often, but then I started playing often later in the season. It was all about hard work.
The team helped me and the coach has faith me in me and I’m thankful. Next season we’ll be targeting the win, not to come second.”

Christian Pulisic

But one Borussia Dortmund player who is certain to leave the club is Christian Pulisic. He is heading to Chelsea after spending a season on loan ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge. Sancho wished the United States international well, saying: “I’ll miss [Pulisic] for sure. I’m happy for him and I wish him the best at Chelsea. I’m sure he’s going to enjoy it there but I’m really going to miss him.”

MS Dhoni will play a ‘massive’ role in India’s World Cup campaign: Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri said MS Dhoni will play a major role in boosting India’s bid to regain the title.

A day before heading to England for the upcoming World Cup, coach Ravi Shastri said MS Dhoni will play a major role in boosting India’s bid to regain the title, harping on the veteran’s ability to influence the game’s little moments.

Shastri has faith in Dhoni’s ability to influence the game’s little moments.

Dhoni is speculated to feature in his final World Cup. He was in supreme form in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League. The 37-year-old scored 416 runs at an average of 83.2 in the last IPL. Led Chennai Super Kings to the final and the coach said that he was impressed with the former India skipper’s footwork during IPL 2019.

Ravi Shastri also said MS Dhoni is the best wicketkeeper in the world in the 50-over format.

“It is great to see the way he was moving in the IPL especially when he was batting. The footwork, the power in the shots, he will be a big player in this World Cup,” Shastri said.

For the first time since 1992, the World Cup is being played in a round-robin format.

MS Dhoni the 2011 World Cup-winning captain, has been the go-to man for Team India cricketers including current skipper Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni’s abilities to read the game from behind the stumps. Guide the players make him an indispensable part of the team.

“It will be very challenging. If you look at 2014 and 2019 now, the gap has become closer between the teams” Shastri said.

Dhoni’s knack to pull off no look run outs and brilliant stumpings makes one of the finest stumpers in world cricket. And coach Shastri said he has shown that there is no one better than him.

Dhoni will be featuring in his fourth World Cup. A veteran of 341 One-Day International (ODI) matches, Dhoni has amassed 10,500 runs at an average of over 50. He also holds the highest score of an unbeaten 183. Dhoni will be a vital man in the middle order for the national team.
