The European football’s governing body has delayed both the Champions League & Europa League matches of next week

UEFA has declared that all Champions League and Europa League matches set for next week will be postponed due to Coronavirus outbreak especially being declared as a pandemic.

So, the matches between Bayern Munich and Chelsea along with the clash between Barcelona and Napoli will also be suspended. The Europa League matches of Machester Utd, Wolves, Inter, Roma and many others will see their games being rescheduled.

UEFA said in its statement released on Friday morning :

“In the light of developments due to the spread of Covid-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments, all UEFA club competitions matches scheduled next week are postponed.

“As a consequence of the postponements, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League quarter-final draws scheduled for 20 March have also been postponed.

“UEFA yesterday invited representatives of its 55 member associations, together with the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro, to a videoconference meeting on Tuesday 17 March to discuss European football’s response to the outbreak.”

571559 UEFA Champions League & Europa League matches postponed due to Coronavirus

Only UEFA was left to halt its tournament after the likes of Italy’s Serie A, Spain’s La Liga, France’s Ligue 1, and Netherland’s Eredivisie which all have suspended play at least for March.

The other big-league i.e. the Premier League was also added to that list on Friday, with the FA releasing the following statement:

“The FA, Premier League, EFL and Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship have collectively agreed to postpone the professional game in England until 3 April at the earliest.”

Only the German League i.e. the Bundesliga is still set to go ahead, including the fans in some capacity. The DFL has announced that Bayern Munich’s away trip to Union Berlin will go ahead as planned while Bayern & Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara has labelled the decision both irresponsible and imprudent.

Ryzen 5 4500U in a Lenovo laptop swifts pass Core i7-1065G7 in Geekbench 4 multi-core test

0

With days, we are getting more leaks about the new Ryzen 4000 mobile APUs and their pretty interesting benchmark scores. AMD is living up to the hype that their Zen 2 architecture on laptops promised for, both power efficiency and performance.

New laptops featuring these APUs are popping up on Geekbench and soon will find its way into the market as well. So @TUM_APISAK has again found the new Ryzen 5 4500U APU running on an unknown Lenovo laptop might be an IdeaPad laptop.

This 6-core and 6-threaded APU performs really well in the Geekbench 4, scoring 4,696 points in the single-core test which is pretty decent considering the fact it is 15W APU only. On the other hand, its competing Intel CPU i.e. the Core i7-1065G7 scores 5,752 points even though being cranked up to 25W TDP.

The Core i7-1065G7 only has four cores but has eight threads thanks to Hyper-Threading while the Ryzen 5 4500U might score better score with its extra two cores. So in multi-core, the Ryzen APU scores 18,819 points against Intel’s 18,772 points, even though the difference is not that much but if the price is to be concerned then AMD will have a greater advantage.

Intel’s availability and pricing issues against AMD’s solid lineup that seems promising this time, the laptop market will surely have a turnover this time. The AMD Ryzen 5 4500U has already appeared on Geekbench 4 before, in an HP Envy x350 convertible with previous multi-core scores of 14,105 points and 15,412 points.

Now in a Lenovo laptop, the Renior APU performs even better even though being at 15W default TDP and ranging between 10W – 25W depending upon the workload, but laptop manufacturers can tweak this with a proper cooling solution to configure it to a permanent 25W TDP to give better performance.

Realme 6i will be the first MediaTek Helio G80-powered phone

0

Realme has already launched the Realme 6 and 6 Pro in India and are powered by the Helio G90T & Snapdragon 720G respectively. All of them are bit overpriced than usual and we expect a smartphone under Rs.10k price and for this, the most suited smartphone can be the Realme 6i.

It is speculated that Realme will be launching the Realme 6i which will be the new budget device powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. An official Realme poster has been leaked by Mukul Sharma (or @stufflistings on Twitter), it clearly says the existence of Realme 6i with MediaTek Helio G80.

Realme 6i will be the first MediaTek Helio G80-powered phone

The G80 octa-core SoC is a slightly more powerful version of the MediaTek Helio G70 SoC featuring two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz which handles daily tasks, while in the Helio G70 we see the six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.7GHz.

Being a 4G-SoC it is equipped with Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU for graphics, the same present in G70 as well. Then there’s MediTek’s proprietory HyperEngine Game Technology that helps the processor to handle CPU and GPU resource allocation more intelligently and dynamically.

The Helio G80 supports up to single 48MP camera or up to two 16MP cameras and video capture up to 1080p/60fps. The NeuroPilot engine is there to handle AI tasks like object and scene recognition, bokeh enhancement.

MediaTek Helio G70 & G70T Gaming SoCs launched

It makes sense to launch the 6i with G80 because the Realme 6 has the upgraded G90T and both of them are very capable SoCs. The recently launched Realme C3 is equipped with Helio G70 and it will be perfect to have a smartphone powered by G80 in the Rs.10k price bracket.

Interestingly, the alleged Realme poster shows a partial world-map with what looks very like the outline of Myanmar being highlighted. This may indicate that the 6i is destined for its launch in this unusual market where the company is expanding.

‘Oblak is the Messi of goalkeepers’ – Simeone

0

The world’s best goalkeeper shows his class again, earning high praise from his manager

Atletico’s last match against Liverpool has stunned everyone across the globe as they defeat the reigning champions and its all due to the brilliant saves by the Slovenian keeper Jan Oblak who totally kept Liverpool silent conceding only two goals out of the 11 shots on goal.

Diego Simeone has compared Jan Oblak to Barcelona’s superstar Lionel Messi after the goalkeeper’s extraordinary performance that helped Atletico Madrid eliminate Champions League holders Liverpool.

Oblak was named the man of the match with his incredible performance and a number of important saves that helped Atletico to change the game after Llorente netted two goals in the first half of the extra time.

It was due to him Atletico was able to take the match longer and take advantage of the tiredness of their opponent, in this case, the sloppy performance from Liverpool’s second-choice goalkeeper Adrain.

Liverpool was dominating the game both in terms of possessions and shots on goal but throughout the 90 minutes, Oblak kept his composure and justified why he is named the best in the world.

Even though he had nothing to do with Firmino’s goal but his subordinate Marcos Llorente who became yesterday’s super-sub sealed the game alongside Morate, paying off Oblak’s incredible goalkeeping in the entire match. Oblak did earn high praise from Atletico head coach Simeone post-match.

'Oblak is the Messi of goalkeepers' - Simeone

“We have a goalkeeper who is the best in the world, no doubt,” Simeone said. “I have been saying that for some time.

“It’s like Barcelona who has Messi. He decides games with his attacking play; Oblak resolves them with his saves.”

Llorente replaced a frustrated Diego Costa and Simeone added: “Llorente revolutionised the team.

“I’m very happy for the team and the club. It was a historic match against an extraordinary opponent with great intensity and a beautiful stadium.

“They pushed and held, without us ever moving away from our plan and with everyone’s effort, we succeeded.

“It gives me enormous joy because, although it seems simple, it’s not simple to win.”

Atletico Madrid was supposed to play against Athletic Club on Sunday but due to the Coronavirus effect, LaLiga games haven halted for a while.

Llorente’s extra-time strikes knock the reigning champions, Liverpool

0

Last night’s Champions League took an amazing turn in the extra time of the game when Atletico Madrid’s substitute Marcos Llorente scored two goals as his team earned a 3-2 second-leg win to knock out the defending champions Liverpool at the Anfield itself where Liverpool reigns superior.

Liverpool was always been preferred to be the favourites to win the match in front of their home crowd but Diego Simeone’s side proved them wrong in the extra time of the match. Obviously, no one can deny the world-class saves that Jan Oblak made to keep Liverpool to their toes.

Llorente's extra-time strikes knock the reigning champions, Liverpool

Roberto Firmino did put Liverpool ahead in the tie for the first time with an early goal in the extra time. But Simeon’s substitute Llorente, who came during the second half capitalised on an Adrian error to swing the game back in Atleti’s favour and in just eight minutes score another spectacular goal to seal the win for Atletico.

To make thins sweeter, Alvaro Morata did score another goal to make it 3-2 thus leaving no options for Liverpool to win the game. Even though Liverpool, who failed to register a single shot on target in the first leg, did play aggressively throughout the 90 minutes and did test Oblak for the first time through Wijnaldum’s fifth-minute header.

Oblak had a hard time against the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as Liverpool desperately chased for a goal to level up the tie.

Llorente's extra-time strikes knock the reigning champions, Liverpool

Atletico did keep their composure, defending Liverpool and Oblak with some incredible saves, on the other side, Adrian reacted well to Angel Correa but Liverpool also turned up the heat as Robertson headed against the woodwork after Mohamed Salah’s shot looped into the air.

Simeone’s side did think that they’ve won the game from Saul’s 93rd-minute header but was ruled offside which later gave Firmino the chance to head against the post with his first effort and ultimately converting it to goal in the rebound.

Adrian’s poor clearance proved costly as Llorente sent the ball out of the stand-in beyond the keeper’s reach, and the midfielder, who looked confident last night, jinked inside Jordan Henderson to curl home from 20 yards for his second.

Llorente's extra-time strikes knock the reigning champions, Liverpool

Liverpool was desperate to score the two goals to win the game in the second half of the extra time, but Morata took the advantage of some space at the back and made it 3-2 for Atletico with another piece of questionable goalkeeping from Adrian.

The Spanish team showed their worth under the leadership of Diego Simeone who are really struggling in their own league but ultimately at the end of the day, Atletico has defeated the best football in the world in the knockout stage at their home and this is a record.

Atletico broke Liverpool’s unbeaten run at home in all competitions since September 2018, thanks to the heroics of Oblak and Llorente. This match created some records as well, as this was the first time Liverpool have failed to progress from a two-legged tie in European competition (including qualifiers) under Klopp.

Llorente's extra-time strikes knock the reigning champions, Liverpool

This was the first home European game that Liverpool lost at Anfield for the first time under Klopp and this is the first time ever that Liverpool has lost both legs in a Champions League knockout tie for since the last-16 stage in 2005-06 vs Benfica.

Also, this was the first-ever Champions League game to see four goals scored in extra time and Marcos Llorente is only the second-ever Atletico player to score twice as a substitute in a Champions League game after Sergio Aguero vs Chelsea in November 2009.

This leaves Liverpool chasing the dream of Premier League cup only which they can win with a victory over rivals Everton on Monday only if Manchester City lose to Burnley on Saturday.
