Frenkie De Jong back in the squad, Dembele continues his recovery at Barcelona training ground

0

The two major young prospects of Barcelona have been injured and here are some news updates about both of them:

Frenkie De Jong back in the squad, Dembele continues his recovery at Barcelona training ground

Frenkie de Jong is back

Frenkie already joined Barca team training last week and was not being hurried to get him off the pitch. Having given some time to settle in Setien calls him back to the squad against the match against Osasuna.

The LaLiga title race is almost over for Barcelona with Real Madrid’s last win but their Champions League dream is still active. So to bring the team back and build some confidence for the vital clash against Napoli, Setein needs his players to perform well in the last two matches.

Also, this will be helpful for de Jong who got injured in the first match after lockdown against Mallorca and has been off the pitch for almost over a month now. Being shown the green light from the medical team, de Jong will be used either as a starter or a substitute in the upcoming match against Osasuna in the Camp Nou.

Frenkie De Jong back in the squad, Dembele continues his recovery at Barcelona training ground

Ousmane Dembele is looking good

The Frenchman has had an injury-stricken campaign, yet again, and finally, due to the long lockdown, he seems to be getting fit again at the right time when his team need him. Dembele worked hard at the Ciutat Esportiva and trained alone as part of his recovery from a torn hamstring.

He was supposed to be out for almost six months in February but after his latest surgery, he seems to be working hard to return. FC Barcelona’s blog post said:

“Ousmane Dembélé is working hard Ciutat Esportiva as he battles to be fit for active duty again. On Tuesday his recovery program included a workout at the Barça training ground.”

This seems hopeful as because he is already back into individual training and we can hope that within few weeks he can be allowed to train with the squad. So hopefully, Dembele can be back to support his team in the crucial stages of the Champions League and we can hope Quique Setien will give more updates about the Frenchman’s recovery in particular.

Manchester United ready to sell these 6 players

Manchester United are currently fighting for a Champions League place after dropping points against Southampton. A club of United’s stature is still fighting for a top-four finish so late in the season. United fans would love to see their club challenge for the Premier League as well as the Champions League next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would probably be a busy man in the coming transfer window. They have been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho. The England international has been outstanding this season and United would like to have him in their squad.

Sancho would demand a transfer fee of around €100m. So, Manchester United are ready to cash-in on these 6 players.

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United are keen on selling:

  • Alexis Sanchez
  • Chris Smalling
  • Marcos Rojo
  • Phil Jones
  • Jesse Lingard
  • Diogo Dalot

Manchester United are hoping to sell Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling for around €20m each. Sanchez is currently on loan at Inter while Smalling is at Roma. Sanchez earns a whopping £500,000-a-week. United and Inter are believed to have split 60-40 per cent. United would definitely like to remove such a hefty wage bill off their shoulders.

According to reports, Inter have offered around €10-12m for Sanchez while Roma have offered United €14m (including bonuses) for Smalling and have also attempted to extend the 30-year-old’s loan by a further 12 months. United would like to push up the transfer fees to around €20m for each of them to raise funds for Sancho.

Meanwhile, Marcos Rojo is currently on loan at Estudiantes in Argentina and is likely to make his loan move permanent. Diogo Dalot has also fallen out of favour at United after playing just 65 minutes in the whole season. He is up for sell too.

Jesse Lingard is a United academy graduate but he has failed to make it to the big stage. His form has dropped drastically in recent times and he hasn’t won over the United fans as well. He is likely to depart this summer along with Phil Jones who recently signed a contract extension till 2023. Both of them have fallen down the pecking order at United.

Manchester United are planning to sell these 6 players in order to raise money and fund the transfer of Jadon Sancho who will bring in another dynamism to United’s attack.

Apple to pay nearly about $1 billion as a penalty to Samsung

0

We all know that the Korean electronics giant Samsung is one of the top display manufacturers around the globe. In the case of its marketing, it made contracts with the customers of the display section. As per that, the customers are bound to purchase a certain quantity of displays in a certain time period, the buyers have to pay penalty otherwise.

The same thing happened to Apple. The Cupertino based giant is also one of the display customers of Samsung and as per the reports, it didn’t reach the minimum purchase limit in this quarter. Now, Apple needs to pay the penalty to Samsung and the amount is nearly $1 Billion.

Apple need to pay nearly 1 billion USD to Samsung_TechnoSports.co.in

This is not for the first time. Back in the second quarter of 2019, Apple paid nearly around $684 million to Samsung for the same reason, and this year again. Sources from Apple disclosed to the Display Supply Chain Consultants that the penalty amount will be around $950 million.

Samsung recently posted its earnings guidance for the second quarter of this year and it is expected the penalty amount by Apple is going to convert the operating loss in the display section into profit.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano with 16:10 display & 5G leaked

0

Lenovo has already commercially made its always-connected Flex 5G laptop with Qualcomm 8cx chip available worldwide and now with new leaks suggesting that Lenovo is working on similar laptop but with Intel chips. As we all know Intel’s upcoming Tiger Lake CPUs will be having a lot of advantages in terms of performance and features, so Lenovo seems to be working with Intel over its new laptop called Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano.

Tweeted by prominent tipster WalkingCat, there are a number of slides showing Lenovo’s outline in its ThinkPad and ThinkBook series, while there’s a slide that clearly shows almost a complete overview of the upcoming Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano.

Obviously, 16:10 displays are getting more popular these days and to give the new Dell XPS, which too comes with such display, some competition, Lenovo is making its own laptop. In the pictures, we see the ThinkPad X1 Nano’s display with 16:10 display and very slim bezels of 14.8mm thickness around the corners, making it look gorgeous.

The laptop is touted to be one of the lightest one in the world and actually the lightest ThinkPad ever weighing in the “sub-1KG” segment which means under 1Kg. The display is a 13-inch 2K display with 16:10 aspect ratio and has 85% screen-to-body ratio, also has a very bright screen of 450 nits of peak brightness and covers 100% sRGB colour gamut.

Much like other premium ThinkPad laptops, this one will also have a carbon fibre design and optional weave A cover. Coming to the performance, the ThinkPad X1 Nano will come equipped with Intel’s upcoming Tiger Lake CPUs with 15W TDP and supports up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM.

The meagre 48Whr battery is said to give over 17hr of battery which is pretty bold claim honestly, also its Intel Athena certified. For ports, there shall be 2 new Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and audio jack while on the connectivity front you have 4×4 MIMO LTE support and 5G options which suggests an always-connected laptop.

It also shall feature Dolby Atmos speakers, much like most Lenovo laptops and there will be a useful feature called Human Presence Detection, much like in Dell’s Latitude laptops, that suggests that the ThinkPad X1 Nano could automatically lock itself up for security purposes when you are away from the laptop and quickly restore when you are back.

Apart from the ThinkPad X1 Nano we also see a slide of the ThinkPad X1 Fold which is the same as announced in the CES 2020, but there’s 5G support with it as well.

Foxconn to invest $1 billion in India to move iPhone production out of China

0

Apple’s one of biggest manufacturer Foxconn is planning to invest more in India to reduce its dependency on the manufacturing in China. Although Apple is a huge brand but China is the primary country of its production and amid of this US-China trade conflict, the Cupertino giant wants to shift its iPhone production to other Asian countries including India.

There were reports earlier that Apple could even shift 20% of its production from China to India, taking the benefit of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) introduced by the Indian Govt. To avail the benefits, a company needs to manufacture phones worth $10 billion at least in phases between 2020 to 2025 to get an incentive of 4% to 6% on incremental sales worth up Rs. 50,000 crores for the manufacturers on a yearly basis.

Apple logo_TechnoSports.co.in

Because of this Apple is expected to produce up to $40 billion worth of smartphones, mostly for exports through its contract manufacturers Wistron and Foxconn. Already we iPhone XR production in India and as per reports, Apple will also be making iPhone SE (2020) in India to reduce the taxes and making it more affordable in the country.

Obviously, Indian Govt is helping contract manufacturer like Foxconn to bring its machinery & equipment from China to India by evaluating at 40% of the value. In the meantime, the announcement by Foxconn to invest in $1 billion in India is a positive start to the new revolution wherein the Cupertino giant dreams to be the largest exporter in India.

Foxconn reportedly will be investing around Rs. 7,500 crores ($1 billion) to expand its Sruperumbudur, Tamil Nadu factory in India. This will take a total time of three years to complete and helping to give 6,000 employment to people, according to a Reuters report. Foxconn primarily makes iPhone XR in the Sruperumbudur factory and with this investment, it can make other latest iPhone models as well.

iPhone SE (2020) or OnePlus 8 who is the winner in India?

There’s a strong request from Apple to its clients to move part of the iPhone production out of China,” one of the sources said in the report. Apart from this plant, Foxconn owns a separate plant in Andhra Pradesh, where it manufacturers smartphones for Xiaomi, Nokia (HMD Global) and others, Foxconn Chairman Liu Young-way has also stated that it would ramp up its investment in the country as well.

If somehow the more premium iPhone models are being assembled in the country then Apple can save $100-200 on import tax which again decrease iPhone prices in the country. Wistron is planning to make new iPhone SE (2020) production in India and with this investment by Foxconn, it seems pretty clear Apple is taking things seriously in the world’s second largest smartphone market.
