Recently, Realme has achieved 17 million consumers globally in such a short span of time. Although two of the brands work separate but still Realme borrows a lot of resources from its parent brand Oppo, a major one being the OS i.e. the ColorOS.
We had some reports and leaks suggesting that the brand is working on developing its own RealmeOS. Also, reports came out that the name was also been trademarked which hinted a possibility of a new custom OS by Realme for its wide amount of youth fans.
Madhav Seth, CEO of Realme Mobiles India hinted to bring a new OS which will be close to stock Android experience which he did try in the last update by adding a stock Android like app tray to the Color OS 6 for Realme devices.
When the company announced a closed beta testing for the Realme 3 Pro users in India everyone supposed it to be the RealmeOS. But now with the confirmation from the CEO himself, no signs of RealmeOS but yes, like in past, Realme smartphones will feature a custom ColorOS 7.

This new OS has been confirmed to be similar to the stock Android in terms of the user interface which is a huge demand from its fans which Madhav himself admits. No other information has been shared by the CEO as for now but ColorOS 7 will surely be based on the latest Android 10.
In the AskMadhav Q&A session, he also confirmed that the company’s smartphones with quad-camera setup namely, Realme 5, 5 Pro and XT will get video recording support with the ultra-wide camera lens. Madhav also hinted that its own Realme Fitness Tracker will also be launched soon in India, might be in November when the flagship Realme X2 Pro is making its way to India.
Oppo’s ColorOS 7 will also feature on Oppo devices and among them, OPPO Reno 10X Zoom will be the first one getting the latest ColorOS 7. In an official statement, Oppo’s Vice President confirmed this and also confirmed the existence of the ColorOS 7.
Xiaomi is investing more on IoT and computing devices to expand its industry and proving itself to be “more than just a smartphone company” in recent days. To everyone’s surprise, the Chinese giant has launched a new laptop silently in China.
In terms of design, the new notebook is similar to its predecessor, featuring a minimalistic design along with a logo at the front. The laptop has a metal body along with a dark grey finish and measures just 19.9mm in thickness, weighing just about 2kg. The laptop also comes with a dual-fan cooling system and heat pipes for temperature management.
The Mi Notebook Pro (2019) features a 15.5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS display with thin bezels on all sides. The display has now been improved from a 72% NTSC display to a 100%sRGB display, this makes the display visually richer and will in turn help professionals who generally will buy this laptop.
On the performance front, we have up to a quad-core, eight threaded Intel Core i7-10510U processor based on the 14nm process and has a boost clock of up to 4.9GHz. It is paired with up to 16GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM and there are two main SSD storage variants – 256GB, 512GB and will also be available with 1TB SSD storage also.
The discrete GPU here is the standard NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU with 2GB of VRAM which is, in fact, a great graphics option for thin and light notebooks. The Mi Notebook Pro 15 Enhanced Edition packs a 60Wh battery and full-sized backlit keyboard that has 19.5mm large keys for ease in typing.
For the connectivity, we have two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI interface, and a headset jack along with a 3-in-1 card reader. As it features the latest Intel chip it should be able to support the latest WiFi 6 and undoubtedly the Xiaomi laptop runs on Windows 10 OS.
So, overall we see the laptop to be an upgraded version of the originally announced Mi Notebook Pro 15 that was introduces earlier this year. The newer one features the latest CPU, better GPU, more SSD storage and other minor improvements including a new sound card and others.
Xiaomi has only confirmed the pricing of the Enhanced version i.e. the one with Core i7-10510U/ MX250 GPU/16GB RAM and 1TB SSD to be CNY 6,999 which roughly is Rs.70,100, the pricing details of other variants are not yet confirmed. The laptop is already up for pre-orders and will go on sale from November 1.

Sourav Ganguly arrived at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on Wednesday for the AGM. He filed for the role of BCCI president after eleventh-hour drama earlier this month. He has been elected unopposed as the president of richest body in world cricket.
Sourav Ganguly is only the 2nd India cricketer to become the BCCI president. He was wearing the same blazer that he wore in his first match as a captain in the BCCI press conference.
Ganguly had played 113 Tests and 311 one-day internationals and led India to 21 Test wins. He has already been an administrator for his home state association, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). He took charge of CAB from 2015 after Jagmohan Dalmia left.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son, Jay Shah was chosen unanimously as the BCCI secretary. Arun Singh Dhumal, brother of former BCCI president Anurag Thakur was made the new BCCI treasurer and Kerala Cricket Association president Jayesh George was elected as the joint secretary. Mahim Verma of Uttarakhand became the new vice-president.
He was part of the BCCI’s technical panel in the past and also part of a three-member Cricket Advisory Committee, alongside Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman.
“My first priority will be to look after first class cricketers. I had requested to the CoA and they have not listened. Ranji Trophy cricket will be the focus. To take care of cricketers’ financial interest,” he said after he took over as the new BCCI president.
“We will have to get BCCI at the ICC back where we belong. There have been a lot of issues for good four-five years. BCCI is so important to the ICC. It not only generates the funds; which is one part but the popularity of the game matters. India is unbelievable and has a huge role to play in ICC and we need to be respected which at the moment is not happening” Ganguly added.
Ganguly is likely to serve only 9 months as BCCI president as the “Cooling Off” period clause in the new BCCI constitution makes it mandatory for board officials to step down after 6 years in office.

Qualcomm has been restless since the launch of Apple SoCs in the premium segment and MediaTek SoCs in the lower range. The chipmaker previously launched the Snapdragon 730G gaming SoC and Snapdragon 730 based on the 8nm process.
Now we have some leaks on the successor of the 730 i.e. the Snapdragon 735 which is based on the 7nm process and on a completely new architecture. According to reports, the chipset has been codenamed as SM7250.
It consists of a big Cortex-A76-based Kryo core clocked at 2.36 GHz and another one is clocked at 2.32 GHz. As we see the cores are clocked at high frequency and this is due to the advanced architecture based on 7nm process.
The rest of the CPU forms a six-core cluster of Cortex-A55 units, all of them running at 1.73 GHz. These secondary cores manage daily tasks and normal apps and the two deadly cores handle all the heavy tasks like gaming.
The GPU to be used here is the Adreno 620, which should be a minor upgrade over the last gen’s Adreno 618, spotted in the Snapdragon 730 SoC. Even though we had some whispers of this SoC earlier but no leaks were out.
So, we expect Snapdragon 735 SoC to be launching in the coming months, hopefully in December when Qualcomm generally keeps an event in Hawaii. Last year they launched the Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 8cx chip in this event only.
The smartphone giant Motorola stepped into the TV market just like other smartphone manufacturers last month with their wide range of Android TVs, from 32-inches to all the way up to 65-inches. The US-based company is not stopping yet, by launching a 75-inch 4K LED television.
Like its other TVs, this one too comes bundled with Wireless Android TV Gamepad that lets you play your favourite games on your TV without even opting or buying a new wireless joystick.

It is powered by an unknown chip comprising of 1GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and a Mali-450 GPU. For the internals, we have 2.5GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Like its other Android TVs, this one too features a 30W Speaker output with support for Dolby Audio & DTS TruSurround.
The TV runs on stock Android 9.0 Pie TV OS and offers endless Google features including Google Assistant and Play Store, Play Movies, Play Music and more. It comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps including YouTube, Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. You can download more apps from the Play Store and get more content for your TV.
The TV remote is similar to other TVs previously launched by the company, the remote here is a Combi Remote (Bluetooth + Infrared) with dedicated Google Assistant, Netflix, Google Play, YouTube Hot Keys. Like any other Android TV, this one too has built-in Chromecast support that lets you cast anything to your TV from your smartphone provided you are on the same WiFi network.
Motorola will charge a hefty fee for ₹1,19,999 for this TV which is pretty surprising because the 65-inch version costs just ₹64,999, nearly double the previous amount. While the Flipkart page lists it to be coming soon, Motorola has no word on when it might be available but we expect it to launch soon as the festive season is going on.
Overall the specs are decent but considering the fierce competition in the TV market, it has to challenge the best premium TV currently available in the market i.e the 65-inch OnePlus TV Q1 Pro which features QLED panel along with faster CPU, internals and has a dedicated soundbar even though costing under Rs.1 lakh.
Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma on Sunday surpassed former Australia cricketer Don Bradman’s record of highest average in Test Cricket on home soil.
Rohit achieved the feat on day two of the third Test match against South Africa.The right-handed batsman broke the 71-year-old record previously held by Bradman. The legendary cricketer had an average of 98.22 on home soil in Test Cricket.
Rohit’s average rose to 99.84 after the batsman smashed his first double hundred in the longest format of the game on Sunday.
A minimum of ten innings has been kept as the benchmark for the record.
On Saturday, Rohit also broke the record for registering the most number of sixes in a bilateral Test series. Sharma went past West Indies’ batsman Shimron Hetmeyer who had registered 15 sixes in the series against Bangladesh in 2018-19.
Before Hetmyer, Harbhajan Singh held the record as he hit 14 sixes in the series against New Zealand in 2010/11.

Physical Overview
A small box that doesn’t even weigh 500gm, the tiny device looks cool but hides behind the TV as it will be attached to the HDMI port of your TV. Don’t worry the IR blaster cable outside helps you to control your TV box even if it’s hiding behind the TV.
Not the best-looking box but yes it is a cute one, small and light, easier to carry and handy. The compactness and its amazing performance make it a great device itself.
Remote
A small yet handy remote that doesn’t have many keys on it focussing on the main essence of the TV. On/Off button, Google assistant button on top, followed by a soothing yet sturdy up/down, left/right navigation wheel. With the home, back, apps and Volume +/- buttons you get all the necessary buttons to operate your TV.
A dedicated YouTube and Netflix button makes it a lot easier for us to directly go to the apps which we most frequently see on TV. The hand feel of the remote is pleasing and as it fits within your palms using it is much more comfortable.
Setup
I was worried about the setup of the device when I started it for the first time. To my surprise, the Android OS made things a lot easier for me. First I had to pair the remote by pressing volume down and back button together and within seconds the TV was paired with the remote.
It asked to connect my smartphone which I did and automatically all of my data, Google account, passwords, WiFi settings got imported, making things simpler for me. Now the Android TV OS was ready for me to explore within minutes.
You have to give access to your google account via your smartphone and once added it gets added to the Google environment of yours. Your interests, your YouTube activity and even your Netflix, Hotstar activities get imported.
The Android TV OS
When the TV loaded up with Android logo on it, it looked as if a genuine Android Smart TV and within seconds you see the home screen of the TV with a lot of apps and content. The home of the TV is clean and looks neat, displaying only what is important.
You do have access to a plethora of Android apps via Play Store but limited in another aspect as not all apps support the TV OS. Apps like Netflix, Google Play Movies, Play Music, Play Store, Play Movies and Yupp TV come pre-installed. You can readily add apps like Hotstar, SonyLIV, Alt Balaji, Jio Cinema, MX Player, Facebook Watch without any hassle.
The stock experience of Android 9.0 Pie is just amazing, with such a cheap device you get a full-fledged Android TV OS that too the latest one with the promise of future updates.
Built-in Chromecast & Google Assistant
Another handy feature of the Flipkart device is the built-in Chromecast that allows any of your smartphone to cast anything going on, on your phone to your TV directly without any lag via your home’s WiFi. Showing your travel pictures to watching videos, listening to music, or playing games directly via smartphone, this feature makes things much simpler.
The Google Assistant is very handy
Using the Google Assistant you can directly search for anything or ask anything with your voice commands. It works accurately most of the times and you can open apps, request shows and apparently do everything with it.
Performance
Though nothing has been mentioned regarding the SoC that has been used the performance seems quite smooth, considering its a budget device the app loading time and transition time is fair enough. It takes around 15-20 seconds to boot up and with its 1GB of RAM, you can access a large number of apps.
But I prefer that do not install more than 10-15 apps otherwise the performance will become sloppy, just keep the main apps and avoid installing games on this device. It has 8GB of internal storage that can be accessed via any file manager app. The Mali 450 GPU works well and produces great graphical clarity.
Connectivity
Another small thing which truly is important and unique for this device is the inclusion of dual-band WiFi support. If you have a WiFi that supports 5GHz band then the TV box can easily access it and you can enjoy high-speed streaming without any delay, I personally use it and it works well.
Also, there’s the Bluetooth v4.0 that allows you to connect to any speaker or any smartphone or headphone easily. The box needs USB charging and its charger is included and the remote works on battery. Also, it has been mentioned that has Dolby Audio support which enhances your TVs original volume.
Verdict
SonyLIV, Hotstar, Netflix, ZEE5, Hoichoi, Facebook Watch all of these apps work great and there’s no lag as such while using. The interface is extremely easy and this Android TV box as a whole is a must-have. Also, you can experience these content the highest quality if your TV supports.
Using apps to watch live TV or other content is extremely easy and one can learn using the software in no time as the OS is identical to smartphones’ Android OS. In my next article, I will tell you how to watch live TV for free just by installing a simple app.
To end my review all I can say is that if are looking for a scalable, portable and powerful media streaming device then this is the one. Its nearest competitor is Amazon’s Fire Stick TV which first of all lacks Android OS and access to a lot of apps.
It is a lot more flexible to use, has access to a wide range of apps, uses Google’s very own stock Android TV OS and has Google Assitant to compete with Alexa. It is a tough call in choosing between Amazon Fire Stick TV and Flipkart MarQ Turbostream Media Streaming Device but I would always go for the Flipkart one just for its simplicity and the versatile Android TV OS.
