PSG have lowered their asking price for Neymar

PSG are willing to sell Neymar at a lower price, but reportedly they won’t sell to Barcelona.

Paris Saint-Germain have reluctantly lowered their asking price for Neymar in a bid to offload the Brazilian in this summer’s transfer window. Neymar also has made his intentions clear to the Ligue 1 club that he wants to leave Parc des Princes and has his eye on a return to the Blaugrana.

The French champions had initially been looking to recoup a mouth-watering €300m for the Brazilian forward. But as reported by ​Sport, PSG have now lowered their asking price to just €180m, nearly half of what they originally set out to redeem. The report adds that PSG are only interested in money when it comes to Neymar, and they really don’t want to hear about any players being included in the deal.

Marca report that PSG are willing to let the 27-hear-old leave this summer, as they see his ego as damaging to the rest of the squad.

Neymar

Neymar will not play for PSG in China in their friendly against Sydney FC on Tuesday as he was left out of the squad for the game to work on his fitness. He will also miss their Trophee des Champions clash with Rennes due to suspension. It seems clear that Neymar is pretty keen to leave PSG in the transfer window

But now a story in Marca has claimed that PSG are adamant that the Brazilian is not going back to Camp Nou as they have no intention of sitting down for talks with their Spanish rivals. The relationship between PSG and Barcelona is toxic at the moment and although the French side are willing to listen to offers for Neymar, will not be selling him back to his old side.

Although Barcelona will also struggle to finance a transfer of that size without breaching UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. ​Ivan Rakitic, ​Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho had all been mooted as players who could potentially make up part of Barcelona’s player-plus-cash offer, but a deal of this kind looks to be off the table for the time being.

PSG will reinvest the money, they will get by selling Neymar, in player recruitment. So they would prefer to have their pick of players from around the world rather than be limited to those which Barcelona deem surplus to requirements. An exit for Neymar for cash would help PSG to fall in line with UEFA’s FFP regulations and give them a chance to sign a couple of new players.

However, the Ligue 1 club could also find themselves in something of a lose-lose situation. They may not want a player-plus-cash deal, but the only alternative could be keeping Neymar – a player who has outrightly expressed his desire to leave the Parisian club, which brings problems of its own.

Administrative blunder by the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI), as India lose its chance in World Championship

An administrative blunder by the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) has denied the national men’s team a chance to compete in the World Championship in Washington from December 15-21.

It is learnt that the SRFI officials were not able to get the necessary clearances in time for competing in the World Championship. From the Sports Authority of India (SAI) for the biennial event.

“The SRFI was not able to get a meeting with SAI and that is why the approval did not come and SRFI didn’t register the team. It is really sad that players have to bear the brunt of this,” a source told PTI.

“The last date for submitting India’s entry was July 16 and the SRFI had written to the SAI little over a month earlier, on June 14 for approval. The Federation had in fact submitted its Annual Calendar for Competitions and Training to the SAI as early as January 2019 wherein participation in the World championship was a point mentioned.

The national federation though claimed that it tried its best to get approval from the SAI.

World Test Championship, a total of 71 Test matches will be played over a period of two years to get the champions

Top nine teams on the ICC Test rankings as on March 31, 2018 — India, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies and Bangladesh are part of the World Test Championship.

With the much-anticipated World Test Championship set to begin with the first Ashes Test, from 1st of August.

The World Test Championship will be played over a two-year period from August 1, 2019 to March 31, 2021. The final will be played at Lords,in England in June 2021. A total of 71 Tests will be played over 27 series before the final.

Top nine teams on the ICC Test rankings as on March 31, 2018 — Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies are part of the World Test Championship. Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Ireland are left out.

India are not playing against Pakistan because each team has picked six opponents by mutual agreement, within the existing framework of the Members rights agreements.

Accordingly, India would be playing against West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Australia and England. Each team will play three home and three away series in a two-year cycle. India will play away series against West Indies, New Zealand and Australia.

India, the top-ranked Test team, will take on West Indies in an away series starting from next month.

International Cricket Council (ICC) officially launched the maiden edition of the World Test Championship (WTC).

Teams can play Test matches outside the World Test Championship during this period. In the Test Championship, a series can have a minimum of two matches and a maximum of five matches. Every match will be a five-day affair. Teams can play day-night Tests by mutual agreement.

Cristiano Ronaldo insists that Juventus will win the Champions League, but he misses Madrid.

Ronaldo believes Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus are poised to conquer Europe, sooner rather than later. He told Marca: “After winning what I won at Madrid I needed a change and new motivation. I still have the strength to keep winning.
Juventus will win the Champions League. I don’t know if it’ll be this year or the next, but it’s coming.”

Manchester United are interested in signing Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

According to widespread reports in Italy, Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala and Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku are set to be involved in a swap deal. The front pages of Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport are dominated by reports that Dybala and Lukaku are poised to swap clubs. Juventus are reportedly willing to cash in on Dybala, while Lukaku wants to leave Manchester United.

Corriere dello Sport claims Juventus and Manchester United are on the verge of a deal, while Tuttosport says sporting director Fabio Paratici is accelerating a transfer for Lukaku – who has been tipped to join their Serie A rivals Inter Milan, although Inter have not come close to meeting United’s valuation of the Belgium striker.

Dybala

Dybala scored 10 goals for Juventus last season, among those he scored the winner against United in the Champions League group stage. But, the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has limited his impact in Turin. The former Palermo player did not go on Juventus’ recent tour of Asia because of his involvement in the Copa America with Argentina.

Juventus value Dybala at €100m and United are asking €85m for Lukaku. So the Red Devils would also need to pay some cash to the Serie A champions in exchange for the Argentina star.

But it is understood that the negotiations are at a very early stage and there is no guarantee United will make an offer for the Argentina forward, or that he would welcome a move to Old Trafford.

The Premier League transfer window closes on 8th August, so the two clubs have just over a week to iron-out a potential deal.

Despite failing to retrieve some cross court smashes, Momota was not at all rattled, he upped the ante, displayed a lot of aggression and by retrieving almost everything he made Praneeth push hard for points. The ploy worked as Praneeth began making mistakes.

The Indian played well but was not able to match the speed of Momota. The Japanese superstar was all over the court from the 11th point in the first game. Though Praneeth worked hard he was not able to stop Momota.

Praneeth said that he tried hard but it is difficult to beat Momota. “When I am attacking and getting points I played good. But once he started doing well I was always in a hurry to finish rallies, made a couple of mistakes and some judgement errors. My game plan was working. But it is not easy to beat Momota, he is always ready to play any game, if he wants to play defence he will play defence, he wants to play rally he can play and if he wants to play attack he can attack. Whatever plan I prepared it is not easy to beat him…his game in these types of court is very good,” Praneeth told BWF website, adding that he is satisfied with his performance.

“But still I can take some positives from this tournament. Hopefully, I can carry forward this confidence and do well in the forthcoming tournaments,” Sai added.

In the final, Momota will face Jonatan of Indonesia, who downed Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark 21-14, 21-14 in the other last four clash.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh continued to impress with the bat as he smashed 26-ball 45 to help Toronto Nationals set a target of 217 against Winnipeg Hawks in the 7th Match of Global T20 Canada at Brampton on Monday.

Yuvraj Singh’s knock was laced with 2 sixes and 4 boundaries in his 26-ball 45 before being falling to Kaleem Sana in the 13th over of the game. Sana bowled a slower ball that nipped back in as Yuvraj Singh got an inside edge to that while trying to play it to the third man.

We witnessed some shots of Vintage Yuvraj Singh before he fall prey at 46 in th Global T20 Canada. However he did not started well, in the first match he was merely able to score 14 runs of 27 deliveries. Yuvraj was criticised a lot after that he came up with a much better performance.

This was not the first time that Yuvraj Singh entertained his fans in the Global T20 Canada. Before this, he scored 21-ball 35 that helped Toronto Nationals secure a two-wicket victory over Edmonton Royals in their 2nd match of league.

The former India-all rounder was, criticized in the opener of the league for his slow approach. Yuvraj was struggling with a back issue as he made just 14 from 27 balls in National’s first game.

However, Yuvraj Singh came up with much-improved effort in Toronto Nationals rest of the matches.

After winning the toss, Winnipeg Hawks opted to bowl against Toronto Nationals. Chirag Suri and Heinrich Klaasen fell in the first 5 overs as Rodrigo Thomas and Yuvraj Singh heroics helped the Nationals get past 200.

Yuvraj Singh is playing in the Global T20 Canada after announcing his retirement from international cricket and the Indian Premier League.

However they were not able to defend the total as Winnipeg Hawks took the match to the end and clinched a last ball win. The Hawks lost two wickets in the ultimate over. Crhis Lynn was the player of the match with his 89 runs of 48 balls which took his team past victory.

Mohun Bagan is a name that has a deep attachment with Indian football. The oldest existing association football club in India, and one of the oldest in Asia. Mariners has a very special moment of history to celebrate today, as does Indian football.

 It was on 29th July, 1911 Mohan Bagan beat British team East Yorkshire Regiment 2-1, to win the Indian Football Association Shield. It has been 108 years since the monumental event.

The win also marked the first time an Indian or Asian Club had defeated a foreign team.

The historic triumph was a matter of great privilege. It was the clarion call of a golden dream. 

 Mohun Bagan had defeated heavy weight team ms like St. Xavier’s at a margin of 3-0, defeated Rangers by 2-1, won over Rifle Brigade by 1-0 and had a tie with Middlesex Regiment 1-1. Later Mohun Bagan won by 3-0 to reach the final.

 At this stage all the Bengali youths were rejuvenated with undaunted spirits. The joy of their team playing the finals of IFA Sheild encouraged them towards the game.

The bengalis have a special place for football in their heart and the Mariners worship their team.

The Mariners hoisted flags of one of the ancient clubs because of the Mohun Bagan Day. In different parts of the country the Mohun Bagan supporters are seen to celebrate this day.

It was not any moment, rather it was an occassion that would change Bengal football forever. Thousands of people thronged from far away Patna, Purnia, Kishanganj, Assam & Dhaka to watch the match. The atmosphere was electric, and the crowd deafening.
