Mauricio Pochettino wants to manage Tottenham Hotspurs once again before he dies

0

Tottenham Hotspurs sacked Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019 as he was unable to deliver a trophy during his time at the helm and the club was struggling in the bottom half of the table this season. They appointed Jose Mourinho in his place.

Pochettino had spent five years at Tottenham. He led them to top-four Premier League finishes in four seasons and also reached the Champions League final last year.

He is now without any club and has been linked to a return to the Premier League with Newcastle United, who are set for a change of ownership. But Tottenham Hotspur still remains “deep” in his heart.

Mauricio Pochettino

Pochettino said to BT Sport: “It was an amazing journey that finished in a way that of course, no one wants to finish. But deep in my chest, in my soul, in my heart, I am sure that we will cross again. For sure, from now since the day I left the club, my dream is to one day be back and to try and finish the work we didn’t finish.”

“We were so close to winning the right trophies. The Premier League and Champions League, we were very close. We stopped this way now.”

“Of course I am looking forward to moving on and I’m so motivated for the next project. But, deep inside, I would like one day to be back [at Spurs]. The club is special, the fans are so special.”

He further added: “Maybe in five years, maybe in 10 years, but before I die I want to manage Tottenham again and try, if possible, to win one title. I want to feel what it means to win one title with Tottenham because the fans are amazing.”

“All the love we received was amazing and that [winning a title] is a good opportunity for all the love they showed us from day one.”

Masip has now cemented his place under the Valladolid’s goal but he still follows Ter Stegen, who celebrated his 28th birthday today.

Masip told Stats Perform: “Well, I’m clearly leaning towards Ter Stegen. For me, he is clearly the best because he encompasses all facets of the game.”

“He’s the most complete for my taste. He’s the most complete with the feet and with his game in all areas. His performance has been reflected in Barca. He was very young when he arrived and has been progressing. For me, he’s the best right now.”

He further added: “Oblak is also in great shape, he is another great goalkeeper. They are two goalkeepers who are in the teams they have to be, they fit perfectly with their respective teams. They’re two great ones. They help all the other goalkeepers to look and improve.”

Amazon launches ‘Pay Later’ service in India

0

Amazon India introduces a financial service that allows users to but products and pay the bill later. This service is similar to Flipkart’s Pay Later service that announced back in 2019. But obviously Amazon brings additional benefits to rule the market.

Registered Amazon users can order any product from the app, no matter it comes under groceries or some other categories. Amazon will pay the amount at that time and the user needs to pay the due bill to the next month. A user can also pay once at the end for all his/her orders throughout the month.

Amazon-India-Pay-Later-2_TechnoSports.co.in

Rather than the one-time payment, users can also go for the EMI option. The amount can be split among a maximum of 12 months. The buyer needs to bear interest on the amount. Though it will happen only if the product doesn’t come under no-cost EMI offer. The insert will vary as per the product cost and the number of months.

The credit limit is ₹60,000 max which is much more than Flipkart’s limit. A user can buy any product of cost between ₹1 to ₹60,000 under this policy.

To start shopping under Pay Later benefit you need to complete your KYC registration from the Amazon mobile app. The eligibility will depend upon your previous track record with the company like your credit history, previous purchases, account information, and more.

Now, Premier League has also chalked down ‘Project Restart’ which is a timetable for the return of top-flight football in England. The Premier League club executives will link up for a crucial video conference call on Friday to discuss ‘Project Restart’.

premier league

If the UK government start to remove restrictions from next week, the Premier League hopes to return to action by mid-June by following this timetable:

9th or 10th May – Players to be tested for COVID-19

11th May – Players to train together in small groups

18th May – Full training begins

8th June – Premier League football returns

The club executives will also discuss how the matches will be played, whether behind closed doors or not. It is also to be decided whether all 20 teams would play in their own stadiums or if some neutral venues will have to be used.

After things are discussed and approved by the Premier League clubs, then it is up to the UK government to give the final approval. The government will have the final say on ‘Project Restart’.

Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs launched: Up to 10 cores on 14nm, gaming still Intel’s priority

0

Finally today on April 30th, the much anticipated Intel 10th gen Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs have been announced after a long wait as it launched its 9th gen back in October 2018. Leaks were true so far as its true that Intel will be offering up to 10 cores this time but the 14nm lithography is still there to bother you.

Interestingly, Intel has widened its lineup and has gone head-to-head with the Red team’s Zen 2 based CPUs. The blue team is again offering more cream on some previous cake for you but still do not deliver that spark that AMD brought to the market.

Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs launched: Up to 10 cores on 14nm, gaming still Intel's priority
via The Verge

Recently, they launched the Comet Lake-H CPUs for gaming laptops and their main priority was the high single-core frequency at the cost of higher TDP. As previously thought, Intel will be showing off its gaming performance dominance over its competitor without any ‘actual improvement’.

There are a lot of CPUs in the Core i9, i7, i5, and i3 lineup but the showstopper will be the Intel Core i9-10900K, a 10-core, a 20-thread chip with a max boost clock speed of 5.3GHz across two of the 10 cores. Still, this is a fair improvement over Core i9-9900K with 2 more cores and 2 more threads with some higher clock speeds.

If there are any pros in this humongous lineup than that will be the increase in the number of cores, threads and clock speeds and yes, the prices have dropped significantly. Yes, the Core i7 CPUs will also be boosted up to 5.0GHz, the Core i7-10700K with a 125 W TDP offers 8 cores and 16 threads with a 5.1GHz turbo clock speed.

Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs launched: Up to 10 cores on 14nm, gaming still Intel's priority

The top-of-the-line Core i9-10900K will be costing you $488 whereas the Core i7-10700K which is almost a 9900K will cost you just $374. The cheaper Core i5-10600K which is unlocked CPU has 6 cores and 12 threads with a boost clock speed of up to 4.8GHz at just $262. This is evident Intel is now lowering its margin to save its shares from being eaten away by AMD.

Like what they did with the Comet Lake-H gaming processors, Intel has implemented the Turbo Boost 3.0 technology and the “Thermal Velocity Boost”. These features will help these new CPUs achieve higher clock speeds if it is at a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius or lower and has some power left to draw.

Now, the Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs have support for up to DDR4-2933 memory, Wi-Fi 6 comes by default with these chips and support for up to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. Another advantage of these CPUs are that most of them feature Intel’s integrated UHD Graphics 630 except for the F-series ones.

One thing to be noticed is that there’s a lot of power draw for the overclockable CPUs while most of them have a frugal 65 W TDP. So, as Intel these days do not ship CPUs with coolers, users have to buy an aftermarket to get the full advantage of these processors.

Intel says to tackle the extra thermal load, Intel has added a thinner level of silicon and thickened the copper IHS (integrated heat spreader). So, when paired with a soldered thermal interface solution, it will lead to lower temperatures across the motherboard, although this is a theoratical concept.

As the title says, Intel is betting more on the single-core frequency as they think games over the next couple of years will still remain as single-threaded applications, stating that 60% of all PC games currently are.

Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs launched: Up to 10 cores on 14nm, gaming still Intel's priority

Comparing with last-gen, Intel promises better gaming performance and also claimed that the Core i9-10900K is going to be the best processor for gaming. The company even citing a jump of 33% framerate boost in Mount & Blade II Bannerlord and 13% in Monster Hunter Iceborne games.

Even though AMD’s Ryzen 3000 processors will complete its first anniversary in July, still Intel’s new CPUs lag behind in certain areas which I will get to you in my next post, stay tuned!

Ivan Rakitic is willing to take the risk to return to football

0

All the football activities around the globe have been suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Leagues in the Netherlands and France have been ended abruptly while the leagues in Germany, England, Spain and Italy are trying to resume.

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has given an interview with Marca. He has told he is willing to take the risk to return to football action. He has also talked about a lot more things. Let’s see Rakitic’s views.

How are you coping with everything that is happening?

“With a lot of care and respect. It’s a new situation for everyone and I think it is a time to be more united than ever, to join forces to move forward and to emerge from this situation. I know we can do it.”

What have you missed?

“My family, my friends, the people with whom I like to share my life. I have missed being able to take my girls to school, have breakfast in town, being able to go to train, and going out to eat.”

rakitic messi suarez

Did you think you could live in this type of situation?

“The truth is no, I don’t think anybody could ever have imagined something like this. I remember a very important moment when we were going to play the first leg of the Champions League tie against Napoli in Italy, just when this situation started. I made that trip with uncertainty, now I think that what we have to do is think positively, knowing that the effort we’re making is for the good of everyone.”

What lessons have you learnt from everything that is happening?

“Many things, but the most important thing is that I appreciate the small details a lot more. The simplest moments and the importance of being close to my family. The situation has been a big lesson for everyone.”

Have you been afraid?

“I don’t know if fear is the correct word, but I’ve had a similar feeling. Uncertainty worries me a lot, I’m a very organised person who likes to control and analyse everything with my family and the people closest to me. Having my family spread between Seville, Croatia and Switzerland has been a concern. Thankfully we’ve all been able to connect via video calls and send messages every day. I admit that I have had nervous moments. But thank God my whole family is fine.”

Some countries don’t want football to return, what are your thoughts?

“I respect everyone’s opinion. In recent days we heard about the French league, one of the biggest in the world, won’t be finished but we must respect that decision. Every country and every league has to analyse their own data and the needs of their situation with regards to how everything is and then decide what is best in each case. What I’m sure of is that all countries and all leagues, when they make the decision, will do so in the best interests of the citizens and athletes. I support and respect the decisions that each country makes.”

What place should football occupy when things return to normal?

“Football is very important to many people and the proof of this is that it moves a lot of money. Lately, I have heard many people talk about the problems there would be if we don’t play, economic problems, issues with European competitions, calendar issues, promotions and relegations but I haven’t heard anyone talk about people. Those people who, for them, their team is part of their life and they have suddenly had it taken away. I think it is time for those of us who are involved in football to take a step forward, and I’m not saying this for economic reasons.”

“I recently read about the money in taxes and the jobs that professional football in Spain is responsible for while helping grassroots football and other minority sports. Socially I believe we must take a step, to be able to entertain people with what they like and help people stop thinking all about viruses and disease. We must be able to joke with our neighbour who supports a rival team, it’s important that we have as many reasons to hug as possible when it is eventually allowed. I feel we have to try to make football unite us, to give a feeling of unity that we need so badly. We have the possibility to support others and we must do so.”

What role should footballers play?

“It’s evident that we must try to return with the best health guarantees, but we must also know that they can never be 100 percent. I want to play. Every worker in their return to work will have the same risk. Supermarket workers also change in dressing rooms and have the same or an even higher chance of getting the virus than we do. They take that risk and I want to take it too. I think that we have a duty and I’m sure if we asked the fans then they would love for there to be football. We have to try to make people enjoy football again. Us as footballers can be an example, giving support to all the workers who have shown us strength.”

rakitic

Are you willing to risk getting infected?

“Without a doubt, and I say this from the awareness that the risk will be very small, but also because of the solidarity with those who have been fighting for us from the first minute, and they have done so for many days.”

Do you think you’re indebted to society?

“I don’t know if we are in debt, but what is certain is that society has given us a status that is well above the average. I pay a lot of attention to the fans and the efforts they make to see us in stadiums and on TV. They meet us at the stadium, training ground or even airports. In those moments, every time I see a child with my shirt on, I think how much effort their parents have made to buy it for them. That effort is what I think we have to do now, prepare ourselves properly, try to control the risks and return football for the people.”

What do you think about football returning without fans in the stands?

“It will be very hard and very unusual for us, but I would like to say to the fans that we will be more focused than ever. We will know they will be at home living and breathing it with the same passion as always and that we won’t disappoint them.”

Will football be the same?

“Hopefully, after this, we will all be a little more human and realise the things that are really important. What we have to do is prepare ourselves well and try to play in the best possible way. It is clear that in this situation, even with empty stadiums at the beginning, it will be something different but I’m sure that very soon everything will return to normal and we will return to enjoying football as we always have.”

What is your idea of what the future will look like?

“My main hope is to enjoy football and start playing again as soon as possible. When that happens and the season is done, then it will be time to analyse the situation. My plan is to work hard, give my best, enjoy football and try to win everything.”
