Luis Figo reveals the reason for leaving Barcelona and joining Real Madrid

Barcelona and Real Madrid are eternal rivals on the field. They are two of the most successful European clubs. Their legacies are almost unparalleled.

Portuguese international Luis Figo played for Barcelona in the late 1990s. But he dared to join their rivals Real Madrid in 2000. It was a very surprising move as he crossed the El Clasico border. Los Blancos signed him for a then world-record fee of £37.2 million.

Figo has claimed a lack of “recognition” was behind his decision to leave Barcelona and join Real Madrid in 2000.

As reported by Marca, he said: “It was an important but difficult decision. I left a city that gave me a lot and where I felt good.”

“But when you don’t feel like you’re recognised for what you’re doing and you have an offer from another club then you think about it.”

Figo spent five years at Santiago Bernabeu before joining Inter. He played alongside club legend Raul Gonzalez, whom he admired very much.

He said about Raul: “Raul is a winner. It’s because of his mentality that he won so much in his career. He always knew what to do and how to move on the pitch.”

“I played with a lot of great players; Ronaldo, Zidane, Rivaldo, [Hristo] Stoichkov, Guardiola, [Fernando] Hierro, [Juan Sebastian] Veron. But I would always back Raul to score.”

Figo spent the most successful years of his career at Real Madrid. He won the 2000 Ballon d’Or and 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year as a Real Madrid player.

Australia offer to host the remaining Premier League matches

The Premier League has planned “Project Restart” as an initiative to get the 2019-20 Premier League season back on track. It has been halted since March due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

An article on Onefootball claims that Perth are offering the Premier League a chance to end their season in Western Australia. Australia has seen less than 7,000 confirmed Coronavirus cases and 93 casualties, whereas more than 28,000 people have died in the UK.

Perth gives an advantage to the Premier League in terms of the COVID-19 outbreak. Perth has four major sporting venues that can be used — Optus Stadium (capacity 65,000), Perth Oval (20,500), cricket’s WACA (24,500) and Joondalup Arena (16,000).

English agent Williams is masterminding the astonishing alternative. Williams, who lives in the Western Australian capital, has received backing from the local Perth senator.

Williams said: “I have had discussions with contacts at Premier League clubs and they like the idea. I have also spoken with government officials and they are enthusiastic. We are speaking again this week.”

“Everybody is safe here. The government has lifted many restrictions. We are sitting round in groups of ten, we can walk around and the beaches are open. We have had four new cases in the last ten days.”

As reported by Fox Sports, Perth state senator Glenn Sterle added: “I’m watching what’s happening in England with a heavy heart. We want to help. We have almost no new cases. It would just be a case of some quarantine for our friends when they arrive and then we are up and running.”

“When Gary first mentioned it I thought it was a wonderful idea. I’m glad he is getting the same response from the people in the game he has called. This is the centre of the sporting universe in Australia. We have fresh air and good weather. It would be ideal.”

Williams further told ABC Grandstand on Sunday: “We’ve got the venues, we’ve got the weather and we are in control of the coronavirus at the moment. You would need four facilities and the timing is absolutely brilliant because we could kick off over here at 6 pm, 8 pm and 10 pm.”

“And 10 pm kick-off here would be 3 pm in the afternoon there and we’d also have coverage worldwide all through Asia and America. Timing-wise this is the ideal place and also health and safety-wise and facility wise, it’s the ideal place, Perth.”

“The players would have to be in isolation for two weeks [travelling to Australia from the UK]. After the two weeks, all the games would be televised with no crowds.”

“We’d be looking at Optus [Stadium], the WACA and probably [HBF] Arena. They could use local state league clubs to do the training.”

The 2019-20 Ligue 1 season has to be ended abruptly due to the Coronavirus pandemic. All sporting events in France will not resume at least until September. So the Ligue 1 has been ended and Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) confirmed that the final standings will be decided on a points-per-game basis.

PSG have been crowned as the 2019-20 Ligue 1 champions. Thomas Tuchel’s side were 12 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand when the season was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has dedicated this title to the health workers who are working on the frontline.

He said: “We would like to dedicate this 2019-2020 Ligue 1 title to healthcare staff and to all the everyday heroes on the frontline whose commitment and self-sacrifice over many weeks have earned our deepest admiration.”

“We understand, respect and support the decisions taken by the French government to end the championship. Health, as the government has always said, must be everyone’s priority.”

The Xbox Series X is getting more and more popular these days as every gamer is eagerly waiting for the next-generation consoles in 2020. An official trailer and gameplay is one of the most fundamental launches for any game, so it makes sense if its done through the most anticipated next-gen console. However, one thing will be interesting to notice if this happens is that how the game utilizes the powerful hardware that is being touted by Microsoft, will real-time ray tracing work? Can we get 4K gaming at 60 FPS?

Generally this type of gaming announcements happen in E3 but as this pandemic has affected every launch so hosting a separate event for mutual benefit seems the most viable option for both Microsoft and Ubisoft.

TikTok, the most famous short video making app, crossed 1 Billion downloads for Android last month. Now, within a very short time, it also completes all over two billion times download count. The Sensor Tower Store Intelligence estimates this fact.

In the present pandemic, all locked down people become hungry for entertainment. As they can’t go outside, the internet is the best place to find the resource. And a huge percentage goes with TikTik along with other apps. More than 315 million installation form all kinds of popular App Stores is the result. This generated number makes TikTok the most downloaded app ever in a quarter.

Behind this success, the major contribution is of Indians. Around 30.3% of total downloads which is 611 million is done by only them. Next comes China, at number 2 with around 196.6 million downloads, 9.7% of the total. The third maximum downloads are done from the United States. The stat says the US residents downloaded the app around 165 million times i.e 8.2%.

The report mention above doesn’t include downloads from any third-party app store. If that number will include, TikTok may reach another milestone.

In the case of spending on the app, China leads. Chinese users spend around $331 million and it is near about 72.2% of the entire revenue. The next two spenders are the users from the US and Great Britain respectively. In order, they poured around $86.5 million and $9 million.

This rapid improvement and popularity of TikTok throw a challenge towards similar short video making platforms, Firework for example.

A few days ago we came across a leaked shared by @MaxJmb commonly known as Max J., a well-known leakster who claimed that the new OnePlus 8Z will have a punch-hole camera at the top middle of the display. That is for the first time we got an idea of how the phone will look like. Later on, a few other sources tipped some of its specs.

Recently another source revealed the leaked image of OnePlus 8Z and now Max has also revealed another interesting feature. The 8Z was previously rumored to come with MediaTek chipset but Max confirmed that the phone may come with Snapdragon 765 SoC with 5G connectivity.

The phone is rumored to launch with the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro in the same launch event, but it got delayed due to COVID-19. The will now launch within a few months or maybe a few weeks. The design of the phone is made different from OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. The punch hole placement in both the later devices is at the top left corner but here we can see the punch-hole is placed at the top center of the phone.

The OnePlus 8Z is the lite version of the OnePlus 8 series and will also be liter in the price segment. Until now nothing is official and we have not seen any kind of official announcement claiming the launch of this device, but the device is in development and will launch soon. The image is extracted from the TKDN certification in Indonesia, which mentions the code name of the smartphone and the connectivity status of the smartphone.

The smartphone is codenamed as M2004J11G which matches the previous POCO F1 and from this, it is clear that the new smartphone will be another POCO device that will feature 4G LTE connectivity.

This can also happen that the smartphone will feature 4G connectivity in some specific markets due to demands and may feature 5G connectivity in the rest of the markets.
