De Jong angry with Barcelona’s medical team

The Netherlands international who joined Barcelona from Ajax this season is reportedly angry with the club’s medical department for the way his injury has been diagnosed.

Frenkie De Jong started for Barcelona as the season resumed and they were back to LaLiga action on 13th June. Barcelona won 4-0 against Mallorca. After that match, De jong has been sidelined with injury.

According to a report by Cat Radio, the midfielder is now aware that his calf problem has probably ruled him out for the rest of the LaLiga campaign. He is unhappy with the diagnosis of his injury and is threatening to return to the Netherlands to recover from the injury.

The medical team could not diagnosis the depth of the injury and cleared him to play the first match which has further worsen the injury and now De Jong will miss out on the rest of the season unexpectedly.

This is not the first time, a Barcelona player is angry on the medical team. Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti are also on that list. Both of them are in Qatar for treatment on respective injuries rather than to go with the club’s own physio team.

Several other Barcelona players are also unhappy with the way injuries are being handled and ‘there is a growing unease’ in the dressing room among the squad.

Barcelona manager Setien is still insisting that the injury is not that bad and De Jong will return soon. But De Jong himself disagrees and thinks that this season is over for him.

Setien told: “He has a small injury in the area of his calf and we’ll see how he progresses. But I’m sure he’ll be able to play a few games. He’s a complete player because he gives us a lot of things when we have the ball, but he’s also physical and covers a lot of space.”

“He’s young, he has dynamism, enthusiasm and quality. He’s learning many things we’ve been trying to improve. It’s true that he’s an important loss and he could help us a lot. We’re a little upset that he’s not there, but these are things you have to adapt to.”

Rivaldo wants Barcelona to sell Ousmane Dembele

Meanwhile, Setien said Dembele is progressing well in his recovery from a thigh injury but his return to group training ‘will have to wait’.

De Jong had been an almost ever-present in the team this season before that injury. He made 38 appearances in all competitions and missing just three games. He has also scored two goals and provided two assists this season.

FIFA and EA Sports collaborate to launch ‘EA Sports FIFA Online 4’ Series for Asia

EA Sports and FIFA have organized a FIFA 20 eChallenger Series for Asia. Thay said on Monday that real-life professional football players will team up with eSports gamers and social networking influencers to compete at a four-nation eChallenger series for Asia.

Simon Thomas, FIFA Chief Commercial Officer said: “For the first time, EA Sports FIFA Online 4 fans across Asia will have the chance to watch and engage directly with their favourite football stars, influencers and esports professionals.”

The four Asian nations which will participate in this eChallenger series are:

Vietnam
Thailand
South Korea

The ‘EA Sports FIFA Online 4’ series will be held from 25th-30th June and the matches will be streamed live on FIFA’s gaming platform fifa.gg

Upcoming Sports Video Games of 2019-2020

There will be 4 teams comprising of 3 players from each of the 4 countries. They will compete in EA Sports’ famed game ‘FIFA 20‘. The teams will play to be crowned as the national champions.

The matches will include both single and multiplayer modes – 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches. This initiative replaces previous competition the Fifa eChampions Cup Spring 2020.

Apple has skipped its outdated Amber Lake-Y processors that it included in last year’s MacBook Air to the newer Ice Lake-Y architecture which is based on the latest 10 nm process, the Ice Lake-Y series CPUs can run at up to 9W TDP on up to four cores.

The new MacBook Air delivers promises up to two times faster CPU performance, as Apple is using custom Intel silicon without stating the actual name of the lineup says to be offering Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 SKUs only.

Barcelona’s last game against Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou was match which was a joy to watch only after we saw the super subs including the young Riqui Puig who played exceptionally well after he replaced Arthur in the second half.

Unlike the match against Sevilla, Puig was brought to the pitch even before at the 55th minute, and as always he gave fresh air to the team and eventually was responsible alongside Rakitic for the only goal of the game. With his small physique, he was able to regain possession comfortably along with going deep to defence when needed, a total package in a small form factor.

Super subs of Barcelona give all the 3 points to keep the title race alive

The 20-year old is considered to be one of the most exciting prospects in the Barca alongside Ansu Fati who are getting more first-team chances these days and have become regular as substitutes these days. Puig was interviewed after the match and he went on to say:

“Very happy, especially for the minutes and confidence that Quique is giving me, and if we accompany him with good results, good minutes and good pace, delighted to give joy to this club”.

“The explanation for the change of the team was that Athletic had less pace and by losing that pace it favored us because we were able to have more control and move the ball from one side to the other.”

“It was a special game but at the same time very strange because it was the Sant Joan festival and we played listening to the firecrackers from outside.”

Riqui Puig is more likely to be called more often than not as Barcelona’s key midfielder Frenkie de Jong is injured and the next game against Celta, he could also make his way into the starting XI as Sergio Busquets got himself suspended last night.

Yesterday night Barcelona played against tough opponent Athletic Bilbao team at Camp Nou and the Catalans did win it by a narrow 1-0 margin, thanks to the super substitutions in the form of Riqui Puig, Ansu Fati and Ivan Rakitic. Honestly speaking, Barcelona looked totally out of form throughout the first 55 minutes of the game, until the good substitutions by Quique Setién arrived.

FC Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Piqué, Lenglet, Alba; Vidal, Busquets (Rakitic 64’), Arthur (Puig 55’); Messi, Suárez (Braithwaite 85’), Griezmann (Ansu Fati 64’)

Athletic Bilbao: Simón; De Marcos, Núñez, Yeray, Balenziaga; López (García 57’), Vesga; Lekue (Capa 69’), Sancet (R. García 78’), Córdoba (Muniain 57’); Williams (Villalibre 69’)

Obviously playing against Athletic Bilbao won’t be an easy job because they are good at their defense and even though a lot of their first team players did not start the game, the team played really well at the Camp Nou. Inaki Williams posed a threat as well with his runs along with some danger from the wings as well.

Barcelona kept the clean sheet thanks to the good performance by Pique, Lenglet, Semedo and of course, Jordi Alba. The key player who not only took the role of a defensive guardian but also winning the ball for the team seemed to be Sergio Busquets, who even made an important challenge in the penalty box to stop a sure goal. Ter Stegan as always with his calm mind played really well and showed again why he wants a big weekly wage from the club.

One of the main reason for the failure for scoring goals in the first half was the lack of finishing third by Luis Saurez, which was seen in the last game as well. Also, the MSG trio – Messi Saurez Greizmann trio were not clicking that much as it used to be but what we really saw was an incomplete Saurez who missed a lot of chances. On the other hand, Griezmann played better with making runs, showing some clever mind to link up with Saurez and Messi.

But, the problem being, Saurez and Messi never give the chance to Griezmann to finish, they only look to each other. Griezmann and Suarez did have some great opportunities but the trio still never trusts Griezmann who lacks creativity but with his fitness and runs plays throughout the pitch to help his team.

Arthur also was lacking the creativity in the midfield, the passes, the through balls, he was not able to deliver the same, which actually bored every Barca fan until thee substitutes arrived.

The Super Substitutes

Barcelona’s creativity was again revived by the youngsters Riqui Puig and Ansu Fati. Puig as like his other game against Leganes played really well, he was making runs, tackling players, making key passes and doing his defensive duties with his small stature. After that, the whole team started to make more opportunities and Barca were getting improved.

Then cam Ansu and Rakitic with full of energy, and as always Fati in the wings played like a pro, taking on defenders and making the runs from the flanks. Rakitic, on the other hand, replaced a tired Busquets and in the 71st minute scoring a crucial goal in the penalty box by a cheeky pass from Messi.

After the goal, Barcelona totally transformed and we saw that energy back again with a lot of chances but no proper finishing from Fati or Saurez and even Messi could not find the net on the eve of his 33rd birthday. Also we saw an intelligent goalkeeping by Unai Simón who saved multiple shots from Vidal, Saurez, Griezmann and Messi.

However, Fati was on the verge of scoring his second goal but it struck the post after the deflection from the shot taken by Vidal, who played the total 90 minutes after a long time. That one goal made the difference as Barca won the game and kept the clean sheet along with that, Barcelona are still in the LaLiga title race, now all eyes on Real Madrid’s next match against Mallorca today.

For the past few days OnePlus is posting about “New Beginning” in its recent online promotions via their social media handles. Recently there is a big fuss about the OnePlus Z or Nord smartphone that may redefine a new budget segment for the brand. We have covered some news about the new budget-oriented smartphone of the brand. There were several leaks and official hints regarding that smartphone as well.

OnePlus had sent some invites to follow a new private Instagram account @OnePlusLiteZThing where they have just posted four images revealing about a new smartphone that is in making. The name indicates something special as it does not says anything about OnePlus’ particular series. It mentions both “Lite” and “Z” simultaneously and clearly indicates a new segment is going to pop-up in the near future.

The recent post in the Instagram account gave a code that converts into “July” after decoding it. This only indicates that the launch of the “new kind of OnePlus smartphone” will launch in July. The forum post by CEO Pete Lau is a bit more direct where he promises the same “premium, flagship experience” but delivered as part of a “new, more affordable smartphone product line”.

In the beginning when there were only rumors of the smartphone then OnePlus Z was the most common name we were using to identify it, but recently a new name occurred instead of ‘Z’ it is replaced with ‘Nord’. We still don’t know which one is the final name for this device but we do know that it will be graded down and will have toned down features instead of such flagship specifications at a very less price.

Indian women’s football team to play all FIFA U-17 World Cup group matches in Guwahati

India will have the football-crazy northeast audience behind them as they will play their group games of the women’s U-17 FIFA World Cup in Guwahati’s Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.

World soccer regulating body FIFA on Tuesday released the revised program of the tournament, which is to be held from 17th February to 7th March. The tournament, that was scheduled to be held in November 2020, was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

FIFA said according to a release issued by the local organising committee: “With the host for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 set to be announced on 25 June 2020, the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2021 will provide football fans in India with a chance to welcome the future world stars and heroes of the women’s game next year.”

Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Navi Mumbai have already been confirmed as the five host cities for the tournament and will host the 32 matches involving sixteen teams.

The tournament will open with double-headers in Guwahati and Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium.

India, who hold the A1 position in the draw by virtue of being the hosts will probably take on A2, that will be confirmed when the draw takes place, on 17th February. The day’s other Group A game will also take place.

Both Group B games will be held on the same day at Bhubaneswar. Group C and D games will take place in the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata and TransStadia Arena at Ahmedabad, correspondingly on 18th February.

On 20th February, India will face the A3 at Guwahati while on 22nd February they will see take on A4.

The quarterfinals will be held in Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata on 27 and 28th February respectively. The two semifinals will take place on 3rd March in Bhubaneswar and Navi Mumbai.

Navi Mumbai has been given the grand finale match along with the third position match.

This is the second time India is hosting a FIFA tournament. India had earlier hosted the U-17 Men’s World Cup in 2017.

Asus ROG Phone 3 launching on July

Asus and Tencent Games have partnered in the making of the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 3 and will unveil the device in China in July as announced by both the companies in Weibo. Asus has not revealed any specific date of the month but is anticipated to launch in the middle of it. Tencent Games has also customized a version of this device just like the previous ROG Phone 2.

This poster is officially released by the brand in their Weibo account and it mentions nothing but the launch month. According to reports, Tencent Games is partnering with the Republic of Gamers to provide “in-depth cooperation” and will focus on “optimizing the performance of game content on the hardware” to “create a game experience, closer to the player”, just like a previous year as they have customized several games of them to play especially for ROG devices.

To recall, the ROG Phone 2 came with an exclusive gaming experience created by Tencent. Asus also partnered with Tencent to bring a few optimized games to take advantage of the 120Hz display. There is no such official news on its specifications yet, but we do know that it will feature the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC and may have 144Hz display with triple rear camera setup and almost the same design as the ROG Phone 2.

According to the rumor, ROG Phone 3 will sport a 6.59-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset. Here we suspect that the main Kryo 585 core is the one that’s going to be clocked at 3.09 GHz as opposed to the 2.84 GHz clock on the standard version of the CPU. It will also pack a whopping 16GB of RAM and a massive 6,000 mAh battery capable of 30W fast charging.

We have seen that a smartphone resembling the ROG Phone 3 has got China’s 3C certification a few days back.
