Intel launches 11th gen processors to power IoT applications

0

Intel has surprised its users this year with the release of its cutting edge processors. Its 10th gen processor line-up has already riled up the market while the upcoming 11th gen seems to be the talk of the town. The semiconductor giant introduced its new processors dedicated specifically to IoT applications.

The new processors belong to Intel’s latest 11th gen lineup with Xe graphics. It comes with a maximum of 4 cores/8 threads each and TDP’s up to 28W. The processor is capable of supporting up to 4 4K/60fps HDR monitors.

The new 11th gen processors are enhanced for the Internet of Things.

Since IoT processes require high-speed processing, computer vision, and low-latency deterministic processing, these processors are designed to satisfy all these demands.

When compared with previous IoT processors the new processors offer various performance upgrades. They offer 23% performance gain in single-threaded workloads, a 19% performance gain in multi-threaded workloads, and up to 2.95 times performance gain in graphics workloads.

These processors are able to drive modern and demanding display rigs, which are operated by AI. The new processors incorporated enhanced features such as Deep Learning Boost and Time Co-ordinated Computing. They reduce latency and improve cycles, which boosts operations in Robotics.

The new Intel Core for IoT processors are the i7-1185G7E, i5-1145G7E, and i3-1115G4E. There are also industry-specific SKUs: the i7-1185GRE, i5-1145GRE, and i3-1115GRE.

A look at another special La Masia graduate: Ansu Fati joins Barcelona first team

0

It was recently announced that Ansu Fati would be a part of the first-team setup at Barcelona, and a recent contract renewal has seen him secured with a buyout clause of 400 million euros.

A breakthrough prospect in the 2019/20 season, Ansu Fati definitely made headlines for the right reasons. He made his debut in the 5-2 win over Real Betis and then weeks later, scored his first goal for the club against Osasuna. The expectation is that following last season, Ansu Fati will look to play a much more central role in Ronald Koeman’s team.

What makes Ansu Fati so special?

Well for starters, the youngster has incredible pace with close control on the ball. In most games, he has looked to stick mostly on the left side of the pitch. Dribbling past defenders is a common trait of his, once going past brilliantly against Dani Carvajal in a game against Real Madrid.

Another special skill of Fati is to understand the passing between midfielders, before adjusting his own game to make the runs behind the offside trap of the opposition defence. The fact that he is able to contribute defensively is a credit to the winger, a position generally not expected to do much of the dirty work when on the counter.

The knock-on effects of Suarez moving to Atletico Madrid means that Griezmann moves to the centre forward role. That opens up more opportunities for Ansu Fati on the left-wing, competing alongside Ousmane Dembele. And given the unfortunate injury record that the French winger holds, it would seem like Ansu Fati would play a much more prominent role rather than just making up the squad numbers and providing backup

We can well remember the last time a similar attacking jewel came out of La Masia. And if a certain Argentine was able to do well in the sport, one can trust Fati to do wonderful things for both club and country.

Pep Guardiola’s men started off the Premier League 2020-21 season by a convincing 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus found the back of the net while Raul Jimenez pulled one back for the hosts.

It was the 10th consecutive season-opening match win for Manchester City, which is the first in the Premier League. They have now made a unique record.

Manchester City’s season opening-match winning streak started way back in the 2011-12 season when they beat Swansea City by 4-0.

Let’s take a look at all the Manchester City’s season opening-match results over the last decade:

  1. 2011-12: Manchester City 4-0 Swansea City
  2. 2012-13: Manchester City 3-2 Southampton
  3. 2013-14: Manchester City 4-0 Newcastle United
  4. 2014-15: Newcastle United 0-2 Manchester City

  9. 2019-20: West Ham United 0-5 Manchester City
  10. 2020-21: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-3 Manchester City

Pep Guardiola is ready to challenge Klopp’s Liverpool for the Premier League title this season. Almost all the Premier League clubs have been very active in the transfer market, with Chelsea being the most active club.

The 2020-21 Premier League title race seems to be the most exciting one in recent years.

Microsoft and Qualcomm collaborate to improve Windows 10 Apps and Snapdragon processor compatibility

0

Microsoft revealed a deeper collaboration with Qualcomm technologies. This came after Microsoft announced its expansion of the Microsofts App Assure program. This collaboration is aimed to enhance the performance and app compatibility experience of windows 10 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon. It will also help both the companies to deliver superior user experience for enterprise customers running widows 10 on ARM64 devices.

Microsoft’s App Assure program was released in early 2019. It is designed to address any application compatibility issue on Windows 10. This program is available for free to customers, develops, and Independent software vendors (ISV’s), who qualify under the company’s 365 subscriptions.

The program was initially developed to help companies transfer apps to windows 10 and modernize them.

Any compatibility issue which arises would then be addressed by Microsoft. But this collaboration aims at expanding the service to ARM64 PC’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.

A press statement released about the collaboration states, “Microsoft’s App Assure with FastTrack program is a service designed to help customers, developers, and independent software vendors address application compatibility issues, at no additional cost for qualifying customers. With this announced expansion, Microsoft commits to delivering exceptional experiences across Windows 10 devices powered by Snapdragon compute platforms, providing end-users with consistent application experiences. A focus of the program will be to engage vendors to deliver compatibility of Windows 10 apps on Snapdragon compute platforms so that users working anywhere can confidently use Windows 10 apps on Snapdragon-powered devices. This announcement is another milestone in redefining the mobile computing experience delivered by Snapdragon-powered PCs.”

The next-gen PC’s which will be powered by Qualcomm’s snapdragon will redefine the mobile computing experience in the upcoming years. This collaboration mainly focuses to deliver compatibility of windows 10 apps on the Snapdragon computer platform. This will allow the users to confidently run windows 10 apps on Snapdragon-powered devices.

“The consistent application compatibility of Windows 10 has been the reason for its worldwide adoption, and we’re proud to extend this compatibility promise to Windows 10 on ARM. Now our customers can have confidence that their business-critical applications will work on Snapdragon-powered Windows devices,” said Brad Anderson, CVP, Commercial Management Experiences, Microsoft.

The goal of the updated program is to “deliver superior user experiences for enterprise customers and consumers across Windows 10 on ARM64 devices, including the global Snapdragon-powered PC ecosystem.”

Hopefully, this means that more apps can now run natively on ARM64. The arm is a significant player in mobile computing. And windows 10 running powered by snapdragon is a hell of a combo.

IPL 2020: Dinesh Karthik defends Pat Cummins’ poor performance against Mumbai Indians

Day 6 of the IPL 2020 featured a clash of titans as Kolkata Knight Riders took on Mumbai Indians. The entire cricketing community was eager to watch the most expensive overseas purchase of the IPL, the Australian pacer Pat Cummins.

Cummins hasn’t shown his potential in the T20 circuit. However, he improved leaps and bounds over the years. Bowling alongside Mitchell Starc, he has made valuable contributions to the Australian national side. He also had valuable performances on important occasions like the 2015 WC, 2019 WC, and Ashes.

However, ‘Hitman’ and other MI batsmen had other plans. Sharma attacked Cummins right away by hitting him for two sixes in his first over. He passed the baton to Hardik Pandya and Saurabh Tiwary who distorted Cummins’ figures to 49 runs in three overs. He looked really rusty in his lengths as you never bowl short when Rohit Sharma is in form. He did attack Jasprit Bumrah while batting, hitting him for 4 sixes, however, it was too late.

Karthik defended Cummins

Skipper Dinesh Karthik defended his spear-head pace bowler. He believes the quarantine period affected the Aussie’s rhythm.

“It is very unfair to judge him (Cummins) right now. He is just off quarantine, (it is) at 3.30/4.00 PM when he got permission to come and play the match itself. We are just happy to have him and I don’t think this is a game where we need to judge him at all,” Karthik said at the post-match press conference.

“Just the fact that he is a world champion bowler, from whatever I have heard and seen he is one of the best going around in the world. I trust him and I’m sure, he will come good,” said Karthik.

Cummins was purchased by KKR for a massive sum of INR 15.5 crores! KKR has always been known for their explosive batting and spin bowling departments. Cummins was expected to add some steam to their pace bowling lineup and lead a young group of pacers.

Cummins can definitely bounce back. The quarantine period even made MS Dhoni feel lacklustre as he demoted himself to bat at No.7. Cummins will have to establish a rhythm and use tools like a slower one, yorker or a pacy bouncer towards the batsman’s helmet. Karthik can also experiment by giving him the new ball to work with.

Edouard Mendy completes £22m move to Chelsea as Lampard boosts goalkeeping department

0

It was a long time coming, but today afternoon saw Chelsea officially announce the signing of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Rennes, for an initially reported fee of £22m.

Mendy comes with a good reputation as a shot-stopper with great reflexes and passing ability. Having made close to 70 appearances for Reims and Rennes, he stands tall at a height of 1.97m – which will make him a commanding figure in front of the goal. He played a big part in the 9 clean sheets that the French club kept, en route their qualification to the Europa League.

This move, however, spells trouble for one player, and that is current Chelsea No. 1 Kepa Arrizzabalaga. Implicitly, manager Frank Lampard had made it clear that he does not trust the Spanish keeper between the sticks and so, would mean Mendy getting the requisite chances.

Last week’s error added on to a host of mistakes since joining the Premier League. Down 1-0 and playing with 10 men, Kepa passed the ball straight to Mane who slotted the ball comfortably to finish the game off for Liverpool. There have been constant questions over his rushing out technique as well as not coping with the pressure situations very well.

Mendy Edouard Mendy completes £22m move to Chelsea as Lampard boosts goalkeeping department

Mendy had a passing rate of 80% and last season, making an average of 1.6 saves per game. But his biggest challenge represents in the crude and physical style of English football. This is where Mendy needs to use his height advantage and properly communicate with the Chelsea defenders. Something that Kepa because of his relatively smaller figure has been failing to do so.

Another aspect is the massive shift from French football to the fast-paced Premier League. Forwards are sharpshooters with immense quality and Mendy’s reflexes will be put to the absolute limit. The onus is now on the Senegalese keeper to make the starting keeper spot his own, and it will be interesting to see whether he is cut out for the task.

New Snapdragon 750G spotted on Geekbench, overtakes 765G in CPU performance

1

Qualcomm’s latest mid-range 5G SoC, Snapdragon 750G has been launched and now it has been spotted on Geekbench scoring some amazing numbers. It is basically an upgraded version of last year’s Snapdragon 730G but comes with an X52 5G modem, same found on the 765G.

So, the new Snapdragon 750G features the new Kryo 570 CPU which uses Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.2GHz which offers a 20 percent performance improvement over the Kryo 470 found in Snapdragon 730G. So, on paper, it obviously looked like the new chipset could beat the superior 765G, however, now its proved.

As per Digital Chat Station’s latest tweet, the new Snapdragon 750G score 650 points in Geekbench’s single-core test while scoring around 1950 points in the multi-threaded test. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 765G scores around 600 points in the single-core test while 1700 points in the multi-threaded test.

This is a clear win for the new Snapdragon 750G that could actually lower the price of 5G offerings without compromising on the performance.

Also, if the new Qualcomm chip is compared against its sole rival MediaTek’s new Dimensity 820, that scores 630 points in the single-core test while 2100 points in the multi-threaded test, the Qualcomm chip almost touches its rival chip and is similar to Kirin 820 that has 600 points in single-core and 2200 points in multi-core.

The success of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G will solely depend on the fact how the US chip giant prices the chip. Hopefully, the new SoC shall give a breath of fresh air to the upcoming mid-range smartphones with 5G support.

One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

0

Despite only two matchdays into the 20/21 season, the race for the Golden Boot is on! Since there are multiple players that can win the award for their respective teams this season, we decided to make the list a little more diverse and consider who is the most likely to win the Golden Boot award from each of the predicted top-half teams.

Injuries, form and past records do come into account while predicting the entries. However, it is difficult to call the shots in football. You never know who might end up surprising us!

So, without further ado, here are our predictions.

Arsenal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

aubameyang One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

This one is an absolute no-brainer. The Gabon international has been in unbelievable form and captained the Gunners to FA Cup success last season. Being off the mark already, Aubameyang is sure to be at the top of the list.

Chelsea: Timo Werner

werner One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

Although he is yet to score his first Premier League goal, Werner looks poised for a brilliant first season in England. The German was neck-deep in battle with Lewandowski in the Bundesliga last season and has the hunger to succeed in England as well.

Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha

Palace have won both of their first two fixtures and look unstoppable as of now. Zaha looks set to stay in London, with no suitors willing to prize him away. The winger already has 3 goals to his name and is Palace’s most important attacker. This could be the season where Zaha finally shows his class throughout the season.

Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

NINTCHDBPICT000609338554 e1600766319763 One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

Big Dom already has four goals to his name and shares the top spot with Son. Should Ancelotti be able to bring out the best of the striker consistently, he might just end up having a 15-20 goal season.

Leicester City: Jamie Vardy

vardy One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

It is hard to bet against last season’s golden boot winner and the form that he has been in. Despite being in his thirties, Vardy shows no signs of slowing down and could successfully defend his crown as the top scorer in the Premier League.

Liverpool: Sadio Mane

mane One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

Given the sheer quality of the players at Liverpool, even the full-backs could be in contention. However, few can offer the consistency and the clinical finishing that Mane brings to Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Manchester City: Raheem Sterling

sterling One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

With Aguero on the sidelines and Jesus being inconsistent in front of goal, Sterling is the biggest threat up front. The England international must move past his mistakes last season and deliver his best in this campaign.

Manchester United: Marcus Rashford

rashford One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

Despite Rashford being moved out wide and Martial playing striker, the former is more consistent in front of goal. Rashford’s pace makes him an immediate threat to any opposition he faces and could win the award if he capitalises on his talents.

Tottenham Hotspur: Heung-Min Son

heung min son harry kane tottenham 2019 20 1jpvhiwbfxdi01ms1wn4j4vpk7 One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

Son is already way ahead of the rest this season, netting 4 against Southampton over the weekend. Should the Korean be consistent on the pitch, he could overtake Kane as the prime candidate for the Golden Boot this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Raul Jimenez

jimenez One Golden Boot contender from each of the top 10 Premier League teams

The Mexican international has been a serious threat under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. With the quality that the team has, it is almost certain that Jimenez will be somewhere around the top of the list.

Marvel’s Spider-Man remastered version won’t let you carry over PS4 saves to PS5

0

2018’s hugely-successful hit game Spider-Man is now coming to Play Station 5. The game will be the remastered version of the Play Station 4 title, and it will also contain the DLC Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If you have purchased Spider-Man for PS4 and want to play the remastered edition in the PS5, unfortunately, you will not be able to carry the save games from PS4 to PS5.

A fan in Twitter asked Insomniac Games whether Marvel’s Spider-Man saves will carry over from PS4 to PS5 or not. On reply Insomniac Games, the developer of the game twitted and confirmed that not it will not. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is treated by developers as an entirely new release with new features like ray-tracing, faster loading, and support for the DualSense controller’s new haptic feedback.

There are now question arising on the PS5’s backward compatibility with PS4 games. As we know that PS5 will be 99% backward compatible with the PS4 titles Sony has tested on it so far, but Sony hasn’t clarified which games won’t work just yet.

Sony clarified that we will be able to play 18 classic PS4 games on PS5 and for it, the only requirement is to have a PS Plus subscription. But it’s still unclear that by which mode the PS5 user can play the PS4 game i.e. either disc or download versions of those games on PS5. Moreover, whether the previous saves of the game will carry over or not.

According to the developer of the game, if you are buying the PS5 Deluxe Edition which has a disc drive, you won’t be able to get a physical version of Spider-Man Remastered on its own, as it will be available as a part of Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
