Ubisoft is giving away Tom Clancy’s The Division for free until September 8. The game can be claimed for free on the UPlay digital distribution service.

Developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft in 2016- Tom Clancy’s The Division is an online-only action role-playing video game. The game is set in a near-future New York City in the aftermath of a viral pandemic; the main character is a Special Agent of the Strategic Homeland Division who is assigned with the tasks to help the group reassemble its operations in Manhattan, examine the nature of the outbreak, and fight and track the criminals and their activities. The Division is a role-playing game, as well as a cooperative and player versus player online multiplayer.

How To Claim Tom Clancy’s The Division?

First login to your Uplay account using the Uplay app or by opening Ubisoft store on the browser. If you are a new user then Sign up to make a new Uplay account. After signing in you will be able to see The Division game banner as Ubisoft is advertising on their main screen in the Uplay store. Then click on it, and claim it. Now you will be able to download the game and play it. 

Previously, Ubisoft had given away some of their AAA-rated games and many other good games. The latest game the gave for free was Watch Dogs 2 which was given as a gift to all the Uplay users after Ubisoft Forward Press Conference.

The Lionel Messi transfer saga has finally ended. Messi’s father had come to Barcelona to have a meeting with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu to discuss the future of his son.

Messi had already informed the club that he wants to leave but Barcelona won’t sell him unless any club gives them his release clause of €700m. But the Argentine was hell-bent on leaving so he didn’t appear for the PCR test and the first training session.

Messi has spoken for the first time since he sent a burofax to the club stating his desire to leave.

But Barcelona was not considering selling Messi at any cost and they were sure that the €700m release clause is valid.

So, it has now come up that Messi has now decided to stay at Barcelona for at least one more season and after that if the environment of the club improves he will continue or else he would leave for free.

So, the Lionel Messi transfer saga has finally ended and the reunion of Guardiola and Messi, for which all the football fans were excited, remains incomplete.

Tencent may engage with Indian Authorities to secure the continued availability of PUBG Mobile

On this Thursday, the IT Ministry of India banned a total of 118 applications that were directly or indirectly engaged with Chinese companies. The list includes the most famous battle royale game PUBG Mobile along with its Lite version. Though the original game was developed by a South Korean Company Bluehole, the mobile version is taken care of by the Chinese technology giant Tencent.

In response to the ban, Tencent said that it always takes care of users’ privacy and data security. It also added that the company may engage with the Indian authorities to secure the continued availability of its apps in our country.

PUBG Mobile doubles its revenue in 7 months with a record $3 Billion lifetime revenue

The ban affects Tencent’s share a lot. In less than a day, its market share falls by over 2%.

Let you know, the fresh ban is a continuation of a set of 59 apps and 47 apps ban respectively. The whole thing stats in June of this year when the Indo-China border tension goes higher than ever before. At the end of June, the banning process started. The first list with a total of 59 applications includes the famous short video making app TikTok. Later in July, another set of 47 apps threw out of India, and this batch is the third one. Though there are some more apps faced the same in between.

Microsoft to bring Direct Storage API to Windows PC

Microsoft recently announced that is bringing the Direct storage API, one of the major components of Velocity architecture to Windows PC.

Technology has advanced considerably in the field of gaming. With developments being done in storage technology, devices such as NVMe has become a standard for every gaming device.

In order to provide detailed rendering to use memory efficiently, games load chunks of data at a time on the storage devices. This technique being efficient still requires a greater number of I/O requests. As the existing APIs are not designed to handle a vast number of I/O requests simultaneously it results in a bottle-neck even while using NVMe drives.

To solve the bottleneck issue, Microsoft has designed its velocity architecture. Termed as the soul of Xbox, it is designed with deep hardware to send software integration and is claimed to power the next-generation gaming experience, unlike anything we have seen before.

The Xbox velocity architecture is termed as a power house, mainly owing to its four major components.

Custom NVME SSD: 

  • Offering 1Tb of storage along 2.4 GB/s of raw I/O throughput, traditional SSD’s pale in comparison to the customized SSD of velocity architecture.
  • Its main focus being consistent and sustained performance, it ensures that developers as well gamers will be able to enjoy the consistency of their games without worrying about the constraints in optimizing their games.

Hardware Accelerated Decompression:

  • It offers hardware-accelerated support to LZ decompressor and provides built-in algorithms, to optimize the texture data.
  • Offering 100x more I/O performance than any current Gen controllers.
  • While allowing the developers to optimize and reduce the overall size of the game, it delivers decompression performance on the levels of more than 4 Zen 2 CPU cores.

Direct Storage API:

  • Belonging to the DirectX family, this new API offers more control to the developers.
  • Empowering them to prioritize minimizing of I/O latency, and also in establishing multiple I/O queues.

Sampler Feedback Streaming (SFS):

  • SFS effectively increases the available system memory and I/O bandwidth, which results in approximately 2.5x effective throughput.
  • This latest innovation optimizes the game textures at different levels of detail and resolution called mipmaps which are used during rendering to make the game experience richer.

What would Microsoft gain by this move?

The current APIs which exist in the windows platform need to manage the I/O requests one at a time. In older games running on slower hard drives, these APIs performed with consistency.

However, with recent advancements in the storage devices and incorporation of the latest NVMe SSDs, this traditional approach of processing one I/O request at a time results either in a bottleneck or degrades the rendering quality of the games.

If Microsoft can successfully integrate velocity’s direct API into its OS. It will effectively improve the long loading time of the games while also improving the details, especially in vast open-world games.

Be it the clothing texture or distant scenery, the advancement that the direct storage will bring will increase the effective use of NVMe SSDs and improve the overall experience of gamers.

Microsoft is currently working on the design and build of the API and its components and is trying to make it available as a development preview into the hands of game developers by next year.

East Bengal gets a massive boost as FSDL invites bid for a new team in ISL

The ISL organizers, FSDL (Football Sports Development Limited) has invited bid for one more team to make the league an 11-team tournament.

The announcement was, “Invited bids from interested parties for the award of one additional team to enrol and participate in the Hero Indian Super League, from its seventh edition to be staged in 2020-21.”

Earlier this week East Bengal FC tied up a deal with ‘Shree Cement’ as their investor. It has also been decided that East Bengal will play in ISL this season so its good news that they can now bid for a team in ISL. Some official work is yet to done and this statement of FSDL is the first step of that process.

According to Times of India sports editor Marcus Mergulhao, “FSDL invites bids for addition of ONE team to participate in the ISL. Bids invited from six cities – Delhi, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Siliguri, and Bhopal. New team will play from 2020-21 (this) season. Last day to submit bid documents Sept 14.”

As it seems East Bengal will be the sole bidder for that one team in ISL.

Indian Super League currently has 10 teams- ATK Mohun Bagan FC, Mumbai City FC, Odisha FC, NorthEast United FC, Hyderabad FC, Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, FC Goa, Kerala Blasters FC, and Jamshedpur FC.

East Bengal’s arch-rival Mohun Bagan FC has already merged with 3 times ISL winner ATK and is going to play in ISL this season as ATK Mohun Bagan FC. Now the other Kolkata giant is also going to make their ISL debut at the same time as their counterpart.

As both the club is set to join the league it is the first time that two teams (ATK Mohun Bagan FC and East Bengal) from the same city will be playing in ISL since its inception and will surely make this league more prestigious with their legacy.

If ISL can bring the East Bengal – Mohun Bagan derby back then it would definitely see a huge spike in viewership and engagement. The derby would bring in a whole new level of excitement in the tournament which will be played behind closed doors in Goa.

Recently, the Bollywood superstar announced the new PUBG alternative FAU-G as the former popular game has recently been banned in India. The Bengaluru-based nCore games will release FAU-G (Fearless And United-Guards) which seems to be an alternative for PUBG.

Akshay Kumar wrote on Twitter: “Supporting PM @narendramodi’s AtmaNirbhar movement, proud to present an action game, Fearless And United-Guards FAU-G. Besides entertainment, players will also learn about the sacrifices of our soldiers. 20% of the net revenue generated will be donated to @BharatKeVeer Trust #FAUG”

Now, Twitter has taken this to another level and some are mocking the game as a copycat:

Obviously, people have mixed views regarding this total incident as within days of the ban Akshay Kumar pounced on the to announce a game which even has not started developing yet. A lot of PUBG fans still find this totally fishy and the announcement to be an opportunity to make money.

As it was announced 20% of the revenue generated would be going to Indian soldiers, many have asked why not 80% if this would have supported them. Twitter is currently trending about this topic and furious on the fact that even the name and the picture used for the graphics is copied.

Although the basis for most of the features would be the beta code recently released by Electronic Arts Sports (EA Sports), there seems to be a host of new regulations that could prove to be the “biggest update of the past decade”.

EA Sports vice-president Nick Wlodyka stated that ‘much of the Career Mode enhancements are down to the fan’s input and their suggestions’. He was also quoted as saying, “We’ve really made the biggest investments we’ve ever made to make sure we’re delivering exactly what our players are asking for. We’ve had so much feedback over the past few years from our players wanting to see more things they can control in career mode.”

So how much cash can you expect to splurge amongst the myriad of 20 Premier League teams? Up the higher end of the tree, one can find Manchester United and Manchester City with enormous figures of 167.4 and 167 million pounds respectively.

They are followed by real-life Premier League champions Liverpool with a distanced budget of 77.2 million pounds. Chelsea and Arsenal lock up the Top 5 spots with budgets of 72.5 and 71.5 million pounds each.

At the other end of the table and if you fancy a tough challenge building a competitive squad, then perhaps the likes of Leeds United (14.7 million pounds), Fulham (14.8 million pounds) and West Brom (16.5 million pounds) would be more up your alley.

However, all is not lost if one does not have enough funds – because the Financial Takeover tool allows you to select from a host of options at the start of a new Career mode and customize the playing experience altogether. According to FIFA CM Content, you can request funds of 10 million pounds, 100 million pounds, 500 million pounds, or disable the in-game feature itself.

Among other playing rules, the game now allows you full control to decide whether or not an advantage must be played when a foul is committed as well as allowing you to pass to players inside the box during Goal Kicks, which previously was not the case. Real-name referees will also be added to the game database for the user to get a holistic playing experience – one name revealed so far, is said to be the very eccentric Mike Dean!

Regardless, people await the release of the biggest and exciting football game in the world any which way. But FIFA 21 with all these latest aspects may just take it to a whole new and different level.

Messi might end up staying at Barca after all

A rather unexpected update on the Messi transfer saga. 

After meeting Barca president Bartomeu in an hour and a half long meeting, Jorge Messi has told the media that his son might just end up staying at the Nou Camp for the upcoming season.

While the player himself hasn’t spoken out on the issue, there was a sense of finality about the situation. Especially after reports of newly appointed Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman telling Leo Messi that “his privileges at Barcelona are over”. 

Although there was a clause in the Argentine’s contract that allowed him to leave on a free at the end of each season, the terms of that clause expired on the 10th of June. 

While the regular season would have concluded by that date, the COVID-19 pandemic pushed things back significantly. As of now, Barca are sticking to the €700 million release clause that was added to Messi’s contract following his last extension. 

The club stated that if Messi did choose to officially “sign” for any other club, then they would take the player to court. However, that is something that neither Messi nor the club would want after the relationship between the two.

With that said, the greatest player to grace the sport will look to continue representing the team for the 20/21 season and eventually leave for free at the end of it. 

While it might be the most diplomatic solution for both parties, it might come as a gigantic financial loss for the club. Losing their greatest asset ever for less than a bag of chips is something that the club would want to avoid. 

The reason Messi might consider staying could be that President Bartomeu has been charged with corruption by the police, in a recent development as reported by El Mundo.

According to the report, Bartomeu paid media company I3 Ventures 6 times higher than their market value to tarnish the reputation of his competitors and club legends Messi, Pique, Xavi, Puyol and Guardiola.

If Bartomeu’s management is sacked, then Messi would be keen to work under a new board who can restore Barca to their former glory.

While Manchester City are the frontrunners in the race to sign Messi, mainly because they are the only team that can afford the player, a €700 million deal does look unlikely.

The Government of India banned PUBG mobile along with other 117 apps, including Alipay, Arena of Valor, Knives Out, and PUBG Mobile Lite. After the government first banned 59 apps in June, and then later some other Chinese Apps in July, it was speculated that someday PUBG mobile can be a target too included PUBG Mobile. The government finally confirmed the ongoing speculations by banning it. The notice was released late Wednesday this week.

Now, Bengaluru-based nCore games will release FAU-G (Fearless And United-Guards) which seems to be an alternative for PUBG.

Indian actor Akshay Kumar has taken to Twitter to promote FAU-G. He wrote on Twitter: “Supporting PM @narendramodi’s AtmaNirbhar movement, proud to present an action game, Fearless And United-Guards FAU-G. Besides entertainment, players will also learn about the sacrifices of our soldiers. 20% of the net revenue generated will be donated to @BharatKeVeer Trust #FAUG”

Interestingly, FAU-G will donate 20% of its revenue to the Indian government’s fund-raising initiative for the soldiers ‘Bharat Ke Veer’.

The release date of the new Indian alternative for PUBG hasn’t been declared yet. But as it has been officially announced by Akshay Kumar and Indian game industry veteran Vishal Gondal, it seems the game won’t take long to be released for the Indian gamers, most probably by this month.

This game is touted to be a contribution towards the “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Indian government banned Chinese made games, PUBG and PUBG Lite on Wednesday and within a couple of days, they have announced an alternative game made by an Indian company. This is certainly a statement to China.

Real Madrid were always an admirer of Eden Hazard. The Belgium international has also revealed during the last stage of his Chelsea career that he wants to go to Real Madrid and play under Zinedine Zidane.

After a long transfer saga, the transfer was finally completed in the summer of 2019. It was reported that Real Madrid agreed on a €100m deal for Hazard with Chelsea.

Recent news has come up which claims that Real Madrid has to pay Chelsea €60m more than the initially reported fee. In total Chelsea will receive €160m from Real Madrid in an instalment spanning 3 years.

According to Belgian outlet HLN Sport, Real Madrid agreed to pay for the Belgian captain in three installments:

2019 – €40m
2020 – €56m
2021 – €64m

This knowledge has now surfaced after AFC Tuzibe (where Hazard began his career) revealed they were due to receive €800,000 from the transfer of Eden Hazard from Chelsea to Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard has endured the worst season of his career in his first season at Madrid. He has been constantly marred by injuries. He has scored just one goal in 22 appearances last season.

Luka Modric said about Hazard’s last season to AFP: “Eden is a great guy and a special player, but he was playing with pain and when you’re on the pitch, people always expect the best. They don’t care if you have little problems,”

“I spoke to him and said, ‘Eden maybe you need not to play now and recover because next season we need you at your best. This is a season where you’re getting to know everything but next season you need to be 100 per cent because if not, it’s going to be difficult’.

“Hopefully he comes back without any problems and then I’m sure he’ll show his potential and why the club bought him because we will need him a lot.”.

The Belgian had just 1 year left on his Chelsea contract which means he could have talked for free with Real Madrid after just six months and could have gone on a free transfer.
