While we have seen the leaked X570S motherboards, it seems soon AMD will finally ditch the much-loved AM4 socket. A reliable leaker ExecuFix has recently provided information about the AMD AM5 platform, stating that it will feature an LGA1718 socket.
This means, much like Intel, AMD will be changing the socket type from PGA to LGA (land grid array), so there will be no pins on the next-gen AMD processors; however, pins will be located on the motherboard socket itself.
Although AM5 will support dual-channel DDR5 memory, no PCI Express Gen5 support is quite strange as Intel will give that on its Alder Lake platform while AMD’s Zen4 Genoa (EPYC) processors will have the feature. Also, it is confirmed that next-gen Zen 4 or Raphael CPUs will be retaining the same 40×40 mm die size.
As we saw the AMD’s complete roadmap, Raphael will be the first to come on the AM5 platform, feature integrated RDNA 2 graphics and supported DDR5 memory. However, it is to be seen if the rumour of not supporting PCIe Gen5 on the AM5 platform turns out to be true or not and when AMD brings it to existence.
Hackers infiltrated the servers of the flag carrier airline of India, Air India Ltd., and gained access to the personal data of 4.5 million fliers, the airline informed on Saturday.
“As part of our commitment, we would like to inform you that SITA PSS, our data processor of the passenger service system, recently notified Air India of a data security breach involving personal data of certain passengers, including yours,” the airlines said in a communication to the passengers whose data got stolen, according to Hindustan Times.
In a note to fliers that were shared via Twitter, Air India said that personal data of passengers registered between August 26, 2011, and February 20, 2021, were compromised in the attack. The details included credit card and contact information and frequent flier data.
This new cyber breach raises fresh concerns for India after allegations earlier this year that Chinese intrusions may have affected operations at a key stock exchange and disrupted power supply in the country’s commercial hub, Mumbai. Cyber-attacks have become a growing threat in recent months with hacker groups targeting American government agencies and also research institutions in Japan.
In March, Air India had announced that it had been informed by its data processing company, SITA PSS, of a cyberattack in February, and it has taken several steps since including investigating the incident and securing the compromised servers.
“No abnormal activity was observed after securing the compromised servers,” the carrier’s notice said, according to Bloomberg. “We would also encourage passengers to change passwords wherever applicable to ensure safety of their personal data.”
Currently, the only international flights Air India is flying are special flights under the “Vande Bharat” mission as international travel remains suspended owing to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

New Delhi, May 22, 2021: Spearheaded by the six-time world champion Mary Kom and defending champion Amit Panghal Indian contingent on Saturday landed in Dubai for the 2021 ASBC Asian Boxing Championships which is jointly hosted by BFI and UAE Boxing Federation.
Under a special circumstance, as part of being the official delegation for the prestigious Championships, the 31 members Indian contingent comprising 19 players and members of support staff flew on a special bio bubble SpiceJet aircraft from Delhi.
“Indian contingent has landed in Dubai and reached the hotel. Two rounds of RT-PCR test have been conducted–one at the airport and the other at the hotel. Indian team flew on SpiceJet flight under the air bubble agreement with all necessary and relevant permissions. The Boxing Federation of India is grateful to the Indian Embassy and Ambassador Mr Pavan Kapoor for obtaining the necessary permissions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Internal cooperation, Government of UAE and ensuring the contingent’s participation at the 2021 ASBC Asian Championships. BFI is also thankful to UAE Government and Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) for their help and support,” Boxing Federation of India said in a statement.
The seven Indian Olympic-bound pugilists, including Amit Panghal (52kg), Vikas Krishan (69kg), Ashish Kumar (75kg), MC Mary Kom (51kg), Simranjeet Kaur (60kg), Lovlina Borgohain (69kg) and Pooja Rani (75kg) alongside the other Indian boxers will be seen competing at the Championships which is set to witness a high-voltage action in presence of top Asian and Olympic qualified boxers from all the major Asian boxing powerhouses.
Boxer Vinod Tanwar (49kg), who was initially named as part of the 20-member squad for the Championships, has been withdrawn after he was tested positive. Tanwar was not part of the camp at the time he was tested positive. “Vinod Tanwar was in his hometown and was advised for RT-PCR test. However, with the reports coming positive, Tanwar was advised to be in isolation at his hometown and the team management decided not to add any replacement in the 49kg category,” the spokesperson further added.
In the last edition of the Championships held in Bangkok in 2019, the Indian team returned with an unprecedented 13 medals including two gold. The matches at the 2021 Asian Championships are scheduled to commence from Mary 24 and will go on till June 1.

Recently, the Chinese electronic giant company, Xiaomi, launched its Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, and now it looks like they will be expanding the lineup even further. According to multiple reports, Redmi K40 Light Luxury Edition can be added to the K40 series very soon. The phone is launching in China on 26th May.
The said device was spotted on Geekbench with model number M2104K10AC. This Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is expected to flaunt a 6.67-inch Full FHD+ Display at the front and will come with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. There is also a possibility that it has a high refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC and will run on Android 11 out of the box and will have a layer of MIUI 12.5 on top of Android. The device scored 727 and 3105 in Geekbench 5’s single-core and multi-core test.
The listed variant has 8 GB RAM but there is no mention of the storage capacity. Its battery cell details are not leaked yet but they can be paired with 67W Fast Charging support.
Talking about the optics, we might see a triple rear camera at the back with a 48 MP or 64 MP primary sensor. This main camera might be supported with an 8MP ultra-wide angle and a 2MP macro lens. However, as these just are leaks, do they take them with a pinch of salt.
Apple iPhone 12 series dominated the first quarter of 2021 in terms of revenue as well as volume. New research conducted by Counterpoint shows the iPhone 12 series — comprising iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max — captured one-third of the smartphone industry revenues in the first quarter of 2021. The iPhone 12 series was also the best-selling in terms of volume in Q1 2021. iPhone 11 followed the iPhone 12 series both in terms of revenue and volume.
As per the report, the global smartphone revenues crossed the $100 billion mark in Q1 2021. Counterpoint noted that consumers largely bought higher-end variants of the flagship series of phones. In the US, iPhone 12 Pro Max was the best-selling model. By contrast, in Europe and the US, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G sold more than the other phones in the series.

The iPhone 12 series launched in October last year and became the most popular series for Apple, leading it to a record first-quarter revenue with a 42 percent global revenue share. Now, the latest data from Counterpoint shows that the iPhone 12 series secured about a third of the market share at 32 percent in terms of revenue in the first quarter of 2021. iPhone 12 Pro Max captured 12 percent of the market share, while iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro captured 11 percent and 9 percent, respectively.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max was reportedly the best-selling US smartphone, and every phone on the list apart from the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE was 5G capable. The iPhone 12 dominated not only in terms of revenue but volume too.
As you can see from the data, according to Counterpoint even the struggling iPhone 12 mini pulled in more revenue than phones like the Samsung Galaxy S21.
In terms of volume, iPhone 12 was the best-selling phone in Q1 2021 with a 5 percent market share. iPhone 12 Pro Max came in second with 4 percent, iPhone 12 Pro with 3 percent, and iPhone 11 with 2 percent. Redmi 9A secured a 2 percent share with Redmi 9, Samsung Galaxy A12, Redmi Note 9, and others at 1 percent. The top 10 best-selling models captured only 21 percent of the global smartphone volumes, Counterpoint noted.
