It is just about 20 days before the ISL is finally going to kick-off. But before the start of the season, defending champion ATK Mohun Bagan FC [Formerly known as ATK] has faced a huge blow. Indian Forward Jobby Justin is almost out for this season after an ACL injury. He has picked up the injury on 27th October in training. It has now been confirmed that it was an ACL injury.

One of the ATK Mohun Bagan officials has confirmed, “Jobby Justin suffered an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injury during ATK Mohun Bagan’s training three days ago. He has been ruled out five months. The player will travel to Mumbai this week to undergo treatment for the injury. Despite that, he is set to be included in the club’s AFC Cup squad”.

Jobby Justin joined ATK last season. Before that, he has played in East Bengal for two seasons. He has scored 16 goals for East Bengal in 41 appearances for the Red & Gold side. But he was not getting enough chances last season as ATK attackers Roy Krishna, Williams and others are in an exceptional form. But he was determined to change his fortune this season.

Earlier in an interview, he said, “It’s true that I got fewer chances than expected in my first season, but it’s fine really. I am definitely looking forward to impressing coach Antonio Habas and getting more chances next time”.

He is an exceptionally talented forward who can be game changer as well. He will surely be missed by the champions this season.
