Kerala Blasters FC have landed their first overseas signing of the new season. Former Aston Villa winger Andre Green is headed to Kochi on a season-long deal, ahead of the ISL 2026-27 campaign.

Who Is Andre Green?

Andre Green is a 28-year-old winger who came through the Aston Villa system. He has represented England at five youth levels and has since built a career in European football. He is a two-time Slovak champion and arrives in India as a free agent on a free transfer.

A Key Signing for Westwood

The move is a major one for head coach Ashley Westwood, who played a central role in identifying the club’s overseas targets. Westwood took charge in March 2026 after David Catalá left, with the Blasters sitting 13th in the table at the time. He is now rebuilding the squad for a fresh start.

Part of a Squad Overhaul

Green’s arrival comes during a busy period for the club. It follows the signing of goalkeeper Amrinder Singh from Odisha FC and a recent change in ownership. Reports suggest more signings are being shortlisted as Kerala Blasters prepare for the new season.

Why It Matters

Kerala Blasters have one of the most passionate fan bases in Indian football, and they will want a strong season after a disappointing recent run. A winger with European and youth international experience gives Westwood a creative option in attack as the ISL returns on October 10.
