Sporting Delhi vs FC Goa Match Preview, Prediction, Timings, Lineups, Teams, and How to Watch

Fatorda under lights is a special kind of football night. This Wednesday, FC Goa welcome Sporting Club Delhi, a young side that has played well but is still waiting for its first points of the season.

Sporting Delhi vs FC Goa: Match Info

Team Preview

FC Goa have a new voice in the dugout. Gouramangi Singh, a former India defender and long-time assistant, took over after Manolo Márquez left for Mumbai City. His side opened with a 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin, with Chiki’s header rescuing a point. Goa finished seventh last season and will want their home ground working for them.

Sporting Club Delhi have been unlucky rather than poor. They took a half-time lead at Bengaluru but lost 3-2 to a late goal, then lost 2-1 at home to Mohun Bagan. They are young, with an average age of about 24, and they reached the Durand Cup semi-finals, losing on penalties to East Bengal. Brazilian forward Rodriguinho scored seven goals in that run, so keep an eye on him.

Lineups

Official XIs aren’t out yet. Teams are normally confirmed about an hour before kick-off, so check the clubs’ social pages on match day.

Prediction

Home advantage and a steadier start tilt this towards Goa, but Delhi’s attacking energy makes it an open game. I’m going with a narrow 2-1 Goa win. That’s an informed guess, not a certainty.
