The last time we got the news recap of the Witcher before three months, and in these three months, Netflix was filming the third season of the desired series. In this season we will see all the actors like Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan who are respectively travelling across Europe, the UK, and recently in Morocco with the new and returning cast.
As usual, Netflix is also unable to stay away from the fans and paparazzi from clicking images of the sets, actors, and most importantly the iconic scenes.
The Witcher (Season 3): Achieving Significant Milestone
The entire team of the Witcher has completed the first half of the upcoming season. Now, the Witcher also reached its milestone when the entire production just moved into Wales for filming location. The images from Gandja Monteiro’s wrap party revealed the celebration of the cast and crew. The first two episodes will be directed by Stephen Surjik who gad previous. The third and the fourth episode will be directed by Monteiro.
Like the first two seasons, season three also contains eight episodes, as the maximum portion of the first four have already been filmed so we can consider that the cast and the team already crossed halfway through the production.
Well, it does not indicate we are going to see season 3 of Netflix within a couple of months as there is a huge portion of the shooting is remaining, and it will take a long period of post-production to accommodate the editing, music, and CGI magic that monstrosities, and also very important to The Witcher and also for its fans. Currently, a rough estimate just indicates that the third season may drop in the first half of 2023, which can slightly change in comparison with the usual December release date.
As long as the series continues, we will get some updates available for the products that will keep fans to be satisfied. The Witcher (Season 3): Ciri’s iconic scenes in the Sahara Desert in Morocco
In April while the cast and crew just trotting many European locations, the shooting takes place that has raised on a Croatian beach. The new location seems very unique and different from the series’ standard forest and castle that locales and it had been built to look like a desert. The iconic Citi storyline is adapted from the novel Time of Contempt where she has lost in the desert.
Last week, an individual team of the Netflix production was just organized in Erfoud, Morocco. The shooting just took place close to the town, on the outskirts of the Sahara Desert. In this filming, only the lead cast members have joined like Freya Allan who is known as Ciri. The sources confirm the shooting will be performed on the dunes of the Sahara Desert with Allan and a white horse. The white horse also has the role of Ihuarraquax in those novels.
The Witcher (Season 3): New Cast Members
In the second season, we have seen The Witcher already reveal a lot of new faces of the series, shifting the focus and revealing a broader story. The third season is also set to follow its predecessors by launching the new daces that just make the Continent richer. Now we will introduce the new cast members:
Rochelle Rose
She will play the role of a sorceress; her character has been codenamed ‘Maida Vale’. She is very powerful and belongs to a particular group of women. She is as confident as the mountain and able to match anyone she can meet in The Witcher. We are expecting that “Maida-Vale” will be the series’ Margarita Laux-Antille known as Rita.
Frances Pooley
Pooley reveals a character named Teryn, as there is no such character name in the novel. Pooley might appear very similar role to Freta Allan. The interesting storyline on Nilfgaard in the novels contains a name that refers to fake Ciri, we are assuming Pooley will represent the role in the series. She is a student that has been brainwashed into believing that they are someone else who is a young girl convinced she is like someone else to become such a political pawn.
Stuart Thompson
Thomson will appear as Fabio. This is a fun sequence character also appeared with the dun sequence along with Ciri in Time of Contempt. In these novel sequences, Ciri is running off with Fabio and ends up battling wyvern into the circus with the antics. We will see Thompson in the episodes directed by Gandja Monteiro, which means the third and fourth episodes.
Ryan Hayes
Hayes will appear as a member of the Chapter of Mages, as the leader on Thanedd Isle, Artaud Terranova. This character has not yet been explored deeply, fans are expecting his role might be established as Stregobor or Artorius Vigo, but the writer is intent on fleshing out the mage organization in the third season.
Michalina Olzanska
Olzanska also appears as a new sorceress character in the third season. It’s still unknown whether she will play ant characters from the novel like Keira Metz or Marti Sodergren, or a new character.
Apart from the secondary characters, the series also introduces many more supporting characters like Lucas Aurelio, Antony, Georg Wigzell, and Abe Jarman. On another side, the casting news we have Kate Winter as Putney, and Martyn Ellis as Barker. We will also see Harvey Quinn whose role is still unknown, the same happens with Poppy Almond playing the role with other mages.
The Witcher (Season 3): Blaviken Battle Co-Ordinator comes back with an extended role
The entire Witcher sequence is filled with fight scenes from the first episode, while Geralt faces Renfri, and also hart men in the streets of Blaviken. The contributors in between the attractive fight scenes are stunt coordinator Wolfgang Stegemann, as Stegemann coming back with an expanded role in this latest season.
Henry Cavill himself involve in season three’s fight scenes. In one of the Instagram posts, he just mentions that he’s “had the nine shades of hell beaten out of me through two weeks of fight scenes”, it has not been confirmed that fight scenes will be helmed by Stegemann or to, and we also don’t know the number of episodes he has been involved.
The Witcher (Season 3): Production Status
Last Time the new report says, the Witcher family set out for the celebrations of the bulletin, the Spring Festival happens for Ciri’s and Yennefer’s birthday. The sequence was filmed in the Epping Forest along with many other locations in the countryside of English.
At first, it was assumed that the filming scenes will have happened in Epping Forest was Bulletin that tuned up on social media, and later confirmed this with the sources. Apart from Geralt, Yennifer, and Ciri, the dwarven warrior Yarpen Zigrin also appears in the scene.
As mentioned earlier, Epping forests is one of the many English locations mostly visited by the Witcher cast and crew, the new series features Henry Cavill and Joey Batey spotted in the background of on-in behind-the-scenes in the shared video by that director. In the video, Cavill was highlighted with the red circle, and Batey on his left, wearing a red leather jacket from season two. Freya Allen’s Ciri was seen shooting in Swinley Forest, and the shooting take place in Kenty and Virginia Water Lake as well.
The Witcher (Season 3): Two Epic Fight Scenes shoot in Wales
The most interesting fact is a few months ago a leak from the show gives us a glimpse of one of the iconic fight scenes also in the books: Geralt’s dual with Vilgefortz. In the entire series, Geralt has combat and gets over monsters and men who came very close to beating him. The scenario totally changes after Geralt meets Vilgefortz in the climax of the Thanedd coup in the third season.
We are grateful to eagle-eyed photographers for many of this duel filmed at Three Cliff’s Bay in Wales, and they don’t even spare. MWe will like to inform you that Mahesh Jaduy’s stunt double appears in pictures as Vilgefortz more than the actor. Henry Cavill is the exact opposite of him and continues to insist on shooting with his own stunts after his second season injury.
We can clearly see the battle as Geralt is wearing that same shirt that he has been rocking in the first episode of the series, and Vilgefortz also wearing a new costume. Vilgefortz will be battling with his most iconic staff rather than the disposable swords he used in the battles of Sodden in the first season.
In this leaked scene is not enough then there is a leaked fight scene of the Witcher family battle against the Rience. The photographers’ images clearly reveal the battle between Geralt and Rience, Ciri and Rience, and also Yennefer in many images. The photographer from Darli Mal confirms that the battle will end with Rience losing and falling down to the ground and dills with blood.
The photographers also believe that Rience dies, but we assume it’s too early to decide as Rience has the ability to teleport mentioned in the books in the battle at Oxenfurt.
