“Lust Stories 3” Trailer: Netflix’s Boldest Anthology Brings Four Directors and a Stacked Cast to Explore Love, Desire, and Everything Left Unsaid

Netflix just dropped the trailer for “Lust Stories 3,” and it’s already promising to be messier, funnier, and more emotionally loaded than the two seasons before it. Four filmmakers, four wildly different worlds, one shared obsession: the things people want but rarely say out loud.

What Lust Stories 3 reveals?

The 2-minute-19-second trailer doesn’t lean on one storyline. Instead, it jumps between four separate universes — uncomfortable conversations, unexpected romance, emotional dilemmas, and relationships that twist in directions nobody saw coming. Aditi Rao Hydari grabs attention early with a conversation about female desire and feelings that “don’t work in on/off mode,” while Konkona Sen Sharma and Radhika Apte bring their own emotional weight to separate threads.

Lust Stories 3: Overview

Four directors, four distinct voices?

What makes the anthology format work is the contrast. Vikramaditya Motwane described his segment as exploring what happens when everyday comfort collides with the pull of something unexpected, shaped with warmth and a little unpredictability. Kiran Rao’s story leans into how early attraction spirals into something far more complicated, using the anthology’s creative freedom to blend intimacy with humour. Shakun Batra, known for dissecting messy relationships, focuses on people who don’t quite know what they want from each other — while Vishal Bhardwaj rounds out the quartet with his own take on marriage and attraction.

Why it matters?

“Lust Stories” has been one of Indian streaming’s most talked-about franchises since its 2018 debut, which even earned an International Emmy nomination for Best Miniseries. The first installment gathered directors like Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar; the format has consistently used short, sharp stories to say things mainstream Bollywood often shies away from. Season 3 continues that tradition, this time with an ensemble that spans generations of Hindi cinema talent — from veterans like Konkona Sen Sharma to rising names like Radhika Madan and Gurfateh Pirzada.

With four different tones stitched into one release, “Lust Stories 3” isn’t chasing a single mood. It’s betting that audiences want contradiction: humour next to heartbreak, comfort next to chaos — all under one Netflix umbrella.
