A new SoC from Huawei spotted, named the Kirin 985 has appeared on AI Benchmark – only to be beaten immediately by the Dimensity 1000. The alleged new Huawei SoC rise gained third spot in the test’s rankings behind the new MediaTek 5G flagship SoC.
The Kirin 985 seems to be a new SoC from Huawei and is patently intended to fall between the older premium Kirin 980 chipset and the current Kirin 990 flagship silicon.
It is said to be featuring 4 Cortex A76 cores and 1 of which runs at a top speed of 2.58 GHz, and the rest of which are clocked 2.40 GHz. The other 4 cores are Cortex A55 cores clocked at a modest 1.84 GHz which is enough to handle daily tasks.
On top of this, to handle all the AI tasks, there are 2 of the Kirin 990 5G’s Da Vinci NPU cores. This arrangement of the ARM cores is found in the new Kirin 820 SoC although the Cortex A76 cores are clocked slower.
I just heard #Kirin985 which will allow the use of the largest image sensor of the mobile industry (see previous Tweet) will likely be unveiled on April 15th and power at least one of the upcoming #Honor30 Series model… pic.twitter.com/LwzTd6qYhW
Prominent leaker, OnLeaks has also validated the Kirin 985’s existence and it will support “the largest image sensor of the mobile industry“. According to him, the chip might be supporting the unreleased Sony IMX 7-series and with a resolution of 50MP. The chip is said to be featured in the Honor 30 series, currently which is scheduled to be launching on April 15th.
The OnePlus 8 series is going to launch globally next week on 14th April. In the series, OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to come with a wireless charging feature. For that, the company also rumored about launching a wireless charger too.
The wireless charger will be called OnePlus Warp Charge 30. As per the name, the charger may be of 30W. The wired chargers of OnePlus also are of the same capacity. It’s the high belief that the device will be charged 0% to 50% within 30 minutes and 100% within around 80 minutes.
Some pictures, revealed by Evan Blass on his Patreon confirmed the upcoming wireless charging feature and the presence of a cooling fan in the charger. This fan will help to prevent overheating while charging. In addition to this, another feature is expected. That is “AI Sleep Mode”. For this, the built-in fan will be off automatically when the phone will be charged fully.
The price of the Wrap Charge 30 is expected around ₹5,750. Unfortunately due to the ongoing Worldwide lockdowns for COVID-19 spreading prevention, the selling of the OnePlus 8 series may be delayed. Hoping for the good and all the rumours, as well as expectations, come true.
Oppo has called up a launch event on 13th April where it will launch the Oppo Reno Ace 2 with some other gadgets. Oppo has dropped a very short teaser indicating the launch event and the teaser itself has no clue about the device itself. The company will launch a few gadgets including the smartphone, which are rumored to a wireless charger. Previously Oppo has launched an audio device yesterday.
The Oppo Reno Ace 2 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 865 chipset, 6.5-inch OLED display with a punch-hole cutout and a quad-camera setup with a 48 MP main shooter. The phone is rumored to have a 4,000 mAh battery with 65W wired fast charging capabilities. The Reno Ace 2 will also carry dual-mode 5G connectivity and will be offered in 8/128GB and 12/256 GB options.
The phone was spotted on TENAA recently, and it is seen to sport a hole-punch display and an Oreo-shaped quad-camera module. It is expected to come with 5G support, and offer 65W fast charging. A Wi-Fi alliance listing has hinted at Android 10 OS, Wi-Fi 6 support and support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The phone is tipped to feature a USB Type-C port.
Nothing more is know about the device and we will definitely keep you updated with all the latest news regarding the same.

The Korean tech giant has been planning on producing a special type of 3nm chip for smartphones which are almost 40% smaller than the latest IBM’s 5nm chip, which has almost 30 billion transistors. The chip that Samsung is planning to make will show a new path to smartphone technology worldwide. The 3nm chip is likely to have around 50 billion transistors and is likely to be 35% more efficient than current 7nm chips present in a few flagship devices.
Samsung has been planning to start the production of its 3nm chip in 2021, but due to this pandemic the company is bounded to shut their stores as well as all smartphone productions, and now they are also stopping the chip production and has stopped any kind of deals with it by keeping it in halt. Until now they have decided to start the whole process by 2022 as they have not been able to fully set up the whole production mechanism required to produce the 3nm chip in bulk.
Samsung is competing with Taiwan’s TSMC in the production and selling of the 3nm chip, but due to the current situation the Korean tech giant has pushed the mass production by 2022, and now it is to be seen that who comes up with the 3nm chip first. The first one to complete the mass production and testing wins the game in this competition.

Young Barca midfielder Oriol Busquets is currently loaned in the Eredivisie with FC Twente and he says he wants to come back to Barcelona and prove in pre-season he deserves a place in the first-team squad.
The 21-year-old Spaniard has spent the entire 2019-20 campaign on loan in the FC Twente but will return to the Camp Nou at the end of this season which is currently facing huge problems due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Busquets has said he’s already thinking about playing for the first team next season which again is in doubt:
“My dream is to return to Barça and do preseason with the first team. Or whatever I have to do and demonstrate that I can go back. My desire is to stay with the first team.”
The young Spanish player has played both in defence as well as midfield for FC Twente this season which makes him even more useful in the Barca squad. He also added that he doesn’t mind where he plays when it comes to Barca.
Oriol has enjoyed regular football in the Netherlands football league and has featured in 21 of FC Twente’s 26 league games before the season was halted in March, meaning he has proved his quality for the team and hopes to succeed in Barca as well.
Lionel Messi’s current Barcelona contract ends in 2021 and it hasn’t been renewed yet. Messi, who usually keeps quiet and prefers to take the back seat, has come out in front protesting against the Barcelona board members several times this season.
Inter has already shown their admiration for the 6 times Ballon d’Or winner and hopes to sign him. Former Inter president Massimo Moratti feels that signing Lionel Messi isn’t an impossible thing.
Moratti told Radio Rai: “I don’t think it’s a forbidden dream at all. Maybe it wasn’t even before this misfortune. Messi is at the end of his contract and it would certainly be attempted to bring him home.”
“I don’t know if this situation will change anything, but I think we will see strange things at the end of the year.”
Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has been linked with Barcelona recently. Moratti suggested Martinez could be used in an exchange deal for countryman Messi.
Moratti said: “He [Martinez] is a very good lad, he cares about his career. But, as I said before, we have to see if it’s part of an operation for bigger players like Messi.”
LaLiga president Javier Tebas said on a video conference with reporters: “I do not think that the arrival of Messi can solve the problems of Serie A, which are linked to the bad relationship between debts, high and insufficient collections. Serie A’s figures are stressed, and these economic problems certainly are not solved by Leo Messi.”
“I would like Messi to stay here, but if he leaves it would not be a drama. It was said that without Cristiano Ronaldo the league would have lost money, and instead we would have earned it, even in Portugal. Players help but are not essential to a championship.”
Maybe we would once again witness the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry if Messi joins Inter and takes on Ronaldo’s Juventus. Messi has publicly revealed his wish that he wants to return to Argentina in the latter part of his career. But football is a very unpredictable thing and as the relationship between Messi and the Barcelona board members currently stands, it would not be an impossible task for Inter to sign the little magician.

The Coronavirus pandemic which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan has spread all over the world. It has already claimed over 53,000 lives worldwide while infecting more than a million people. The whole world is mourning right now.
All the major football leagues around the globe have been suspended as a result the clubs and the leagues are facing financial loses. LaLiga will lose around €1 billion if the 2019-20 season is declared ‘null and void’.
La Liga president Javier Tebas has revealed potential dates to restart the 2019-20 campaign. There are three proposed dates for the league to restart: 28th May, 6th June and 28th June.
Javier Tebas told reporters in a teleconference on Tuesday: “We are considering the idea of playing again, in Spain and other European countries, on May 29 or, alternatively, on June 6 or June 28. If we start LaLiga on May 28, the Champions League would be in July; if we start on June 6, all the competitions would be played together until July 31.”
“And if we start on June 28, July would be for LaLiga and August for the Champions League. With these dates, obviously, there is time to start training again, respecting the activity resumption protocol that we have designed for LaLiga.”
“By the end of the season we would not want to go beyond the month of August, and it is obvious that all this will affect the schedule for the next season.”
Tebas firmly said that cancelling the season was not an option: “No, not mentioned at all at the moment. It is a hypothesis that we do not contemplate. We want to end it, probably behind closed doors. And it is curious, by chance, that the clubs that want to end the season here are the ones from the bottom of the League, the ones that are fighting not to be relegated.”
“I can assure you that no major nor mid-season championships intend to cancel the season, whoever talks about this does so for personal interests. Not finishing the 2019-20 season would bring a measurable loss of €1bn. If we finish behind closed doors, the economic damage will be €350million.”
“If we could play with the public, the losses would still be €150m. As for TV rights in the League, we raised 90 per cent of the total. If we no longer have to play, in addition to giving up the remaining 10 per cent, we would have to return 18 per cent of what we have already raised.”
