Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Christian Pulisic will join Chelsea for €64m (£58m), with the United States forward to be loaned back to the Bundesliga leaders until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old moved to Germany as a teenager and has made more than 80 appearances for Dortmund. He admitted in November that he hoped to play in the Premier League having refused to sign an extension to his existing contract.
“It was always Christian’s dream to play in the Premier League. That certainly has to do with his American background, and as a result we were unable to extend his contract,” Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told the club’s official website.
“Against this background, we have decided to accept an extremely lucrative bid by Chelsea, given the low contract maturity. Christian Pulisic is a character perfect player. I am sure that in the coming months he will do everything in his power to bring his high quality to the team and to achieve his sporting goals with his team-mates Borussia Dortmund.”
“In summer I move on to Chelsea and to a new competition, the English Premier League,” Pulisic told Chelsea’s official website. “It’s a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world-class players.”
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia hailed Pulisic’s potential after the 20-year-old’s switch was agreed. “We are delighted to have signed one of Europe’s most sought-after young players,” she said in a club statement.
“Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany and at just 20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come. “We look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer and wish him and Dortmund every success for the remainder of the season.”

Apart from unveiling the new Snapdragon 855, Qualcomm also unveiled its new age ‘X’ series mobile processors. The “X” stands for “extreme”. This is what the Qualcomm’s marketing department wants you to think about the new age 7nm based eight core Snapdragon 8cx processor.
The Snapdragon 8cx
This new chip is totally made to power laptops and 2-in-1 convertible PCs. The new fanless processor will directly compete with Intel’s Amber Lake and Whiskey lake series of processors. Physically also this chip is the largest processor the company has ever made, combining the most powerful CPU and GPU that Qualcomm has ever devised yet.
The biggest highlight Qualcomm wants to give is to combine the specialities of both PC and smartphone and fuse it onto some laptop or convertible, making work and productivity much more simpler. This 8cx chip will give the best performance by Qualcomm that the company has ever achieved yet.
Another notable thing is the company’s promising “amazing battery life,” and up to 2Gbps cellular connectivity. So, Qualcomm is aiming for its vendors to make thin and light portable laptops that are powerful as well as more power efficient to increase your productivity.

Performance
The Snapdragon 8cx chip is the first independent product after a lot of effort by the mobile platform giant Qualcomm to produce a laptop chip, that has enough power as to take on Intel in the ultraportable space.
The first 7nm process 64-bit CPU architecture laptop chip in the industry will have a lot of its own benefits and will use the same 8 basic processor cores – 4 x A76, 4 x A55, just like in the Snapdragon 855.
In this case, Kryo 495, as it’s called, is cranked up higher and has a lot of cache memory – a full 10MB between the L2, L3, and system cache. So, unlike its predecessor Snapdragon 850, which was previously used in Lenovo C630 WOS at IFA 2018, the 8cx chip dedicatedly made for full-fledged work on laptops.
Qualcomm even claims that it’s 8cx has a performance that is comparable to a 15-watt Intel U-series processor, the same you’ll find in most of today’s thin-and-light Windows laptops or covertibles.

Graphics
Coming to another essential part of the Snapdragon 8cx is its graphics which solely depends on the Adreno 680. Qualcomm even says that its new Adreno 680 Extreme GPU will be twice as fast as we have seen in the previous Snapdragon 850 for Windows laptops.
Laptops bearing this chip will able to host a display up to 4K HDR at 120FPS. Having the third-generation PCI-E, it can support two 4K HDR external monitors simultaneously, which is a huge upgrade from supporting only one monitor before. Also, you get the modern DirectX 12 API support for running modern games.
Flexible options & AI capabilities
The Snapdragon 8cx will support up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, with greater bandwidth and NVMe SSDs with higher speeds and UFS3.0 storage. Also, there’s the support for USB 3.1 Gen 2, that theoretically doubles the amount of data you can sling over your USB cables up to 10Gbps.
The processor will also be compatible with both Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana voice assistants. Talking of AI, the chip has the Hexagon 685 DSP, and is equipped with a 4th-gen Qualcomm AI engine.
Battery life & Power consumption
Being built on 7nm architecture the key benefit that these processors will have is that they will consume only 7 Watt of power. Battery life will remain as Qualcomm’s major selling point.
They also expect that these machines will easily last people two full work days and then some on a charge. Also, there’s the support USB-C quick charging using Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+.
Alex Katouzian, senior VP and GM of mobile for Qualcomm Technologies in an official press statement said,
“With performance and battery life as our design tenets, we’re bringing 7nm innovations to the PC space, allowing for smartphone-like capabilities to transform the computing experience”
Connectivity
The Snapdragon X24 LTE modem is used in this chipset same as in the Snapdragon 855, which enables 5G support but actually not without the Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem. The Snapdragon 8cx aims for always-on and connected Windows 10 laptops and 2-in-1 convertibles.
The chip supports 4×4 MIMO antennas for LTE and Qualcomm promises speeds of up to 2 Gigabits via this modem. On the other hand, also there’s the support for Bluetooth 5.0.

Audio & Camera
Qualcomm’s Aqstic audio technology that is integrated into this processor brings along a host of advanced audio codecs and voice software technologies – enabling multi-voice assistant support.

Qualcomm has also claimed in its unveiling that 8cx chip has performance that is comparable to a 15-watt Intel U-series processor, the same that you’ll find in most of today’s thin-and-light Windows-powered laptops or convertibles or even in MacBooks.
But the fact remains that the Qualcomm’s chip will draw less than half the electricity — only 7 watts. Coming to the sustained performance, Qualcomm expects its processor to be as fast as an Intel chip that has to do its everyday work within a thermal envelope of just 7 watts.
We know AMD is desperately working on their 7nm chips, which they will unveil soon next week, now it will be interesting to see how both of these chip manufacturers go head to head to reach the ultimate throne.
Well, to be honest, the Snapdragon 8cx is an interesting chip which has an aim to fuse the better offs of a smartphone into a Windows PC and make it an ultra-portable device for your everyday tasks. With this chip, Qualcomm is trying to push its limits and trying to make a new concept that might be something which we will see in our future.
Qualcomm and Microsoft are desperately working together and make a great product in future that supports a ton of apps to create a better ecosystem in future.
Qualcomm also has assured that this chip will support Windows 10 Enterprise, coming to the browsers both the Chromium and Firefox web browsers will run natively including many more apps which will get ported over in coming days.

Availability
Qualcomm has hinted that the partners are on board and has also assured that the first products will get launched in the second half of 2019 and start getting shipped somewhere in Q3 2019.

Display
It has 10.1-inch FHD IPS Display which crisp and colours seem bright, not the best one but yes best at its price. Having a great viewing angle, watch something from any angle seems great.
Though its bezels are fat, the accurate display makes you overlook that.
Performance
The Alcatel Pop 4 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 under its hood that is not the best at the market, but it makes the tablet smooth and gets things done pretty well.
This tablet is made for productivity and not for gaming so do not expect to play heavy games on it. Accompanied with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, a fair amount of apps can readily be installed and used.
You can extend the storage with a microSD anytime you want. I have personally installed 50 apps but have faced no big issues except for some stutters occasionally.
Battery
Coming to the most significant part of any tablet is its battery, this one has an impressive battery that lasts almost 2 full days of usage. With moderate usage, it can last for 3-4 days easily.
As because of the Snapdragon chip, it charges itself in 3-3.5 hours with a fast charger, which is good keeping in mind of the huge battery.
Audio
Another important thing about any tablet is its speaker. Fortunately, the Alcatel Pop 4 bears a dual speaker at both the front end which is loud and clear, not the best at the market but sounds pretty soothing and accurate.
For listening to songs and watching movies this is very pleasant. Also is equipped with WAVES MaxxAudio, the tablet is pretty loud.
Camera
There’s a myth that Tablet cameras are the worst ones. But in this case, this is not, the rear camera is of 8MP, and the front is 5MP.
The rear cameras capture well during lighting conditions but seem horrible during low-light. On the other hand, the front camera is just ok, not the best and not the worst.
With a decent camera, you can take quick snaps while moving around and attend video calls with this pretty comfortably. You cannot expect an outstanding camera from a budget-centric tablet, to be honest.
The Keyboard
Heading over to the most unique feature of this tablet is its keyboard that comes shipped with the tablet. This keyboard has also been made by Alcatel and is very much made to house the tablet on it.
The keyboard has a hinge on which you have to stand the tablet. After housing the tab, you can move it up to 110-120 degrees approximately, to adjust your view.
The keys are tactile and its very soothing to write on this keyboard. Bearing a lot of shortcuts it makes things easier to control the volume of the tab or the brightness or turning on the WiFi, etc.
The keyboard also needs to be charged for use, but with one full charge, it can last for weeks and sometimes for even a month. Another good thing is that after keeping it paired with your tablet via Bluetooth, it automatically switches off if not used for 2-3 minutes, saving the battery life when you get busy or just forget to switch it off.
Sometimes it may just get unresponsive for a second, but it is quite well keeping in mind that you get this for free with the tablet.
Software and UI
The only drawback of the tablet is that it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmellow, and so you cannot use the Split screen feature on this device.
Otherwise, the UI is simple and clean and you get some essential apps like Docs, Slides, Sheets pre-installed that makes the tablet much more productive.
Another notable thing is that changing from the landscape to portrait mode and vice versa is very smooth and the UI adapts perfectly with each of the apps.

Maurizio Sarri confessed that he is surprised by the contract situation as Real Madrid target Eden Hazard is yet to re-sign at Chelsea.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri admitted that he is surprised Eden Hazard’s contract situation has gone on so long that the Blues might have to sell him in the summer.
The 27-year-old’s current deal with the Blues runs out in the summer of 2020 and with the rumours of Real Madrid still circulating, the fear that the Blues might lose him is a real possibility.
Hazard has continuously flirted with the idea of joining the Spanish side, stating that it is his ‘dream’ club, but then claiming after the victory against Watford on Wednesday that he wants to be considered a Chelsea legend.
The Blues have been trying to pin down the Belgium skipper to a new long-term deal since they won the Premier League title in 2017, however he is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract that could earn him more than £300,000-per-week.
It is a real possibility that they might be forced to sell him in the summer, and Sarri admits that he is surprised it has come to this point with a player who is so important to the club.
“Yes, I am a bit surprised [it has gone on this long] but I don’t know the past so I can’t say anything,” Sarri said, however he also claimed that the situation does not frustrate him, adding: “I think it’s normal. You have to manage 25/28 players. It’s a routine.”
If Hazard fails to sign a new contract then there is little that the Blues can do to keep him during the summer transfer window, unless Real Madrid end their interest in him.
But whatever the decision, Sarri admitted that he wants to know what is happening as soon as possible for he can plan for whether or not he will have the Belgian in his squad.
“The club has to programme the future,” Sarri said. “I think they need to start in this period. The club can decide for him. I think it’s right that the club knows the future and has the chance to programme the future.”

This futuristic design of the new smartphone looks alike to that of the Huawei Nova 4, which was launched as the first smartphone by Huawei to sport a hole for the selfie camera.

The View 20 is a little different as it has a V-shaped texture at the rear panel which appears prominently when light reflects on the surface. There is also a 3D glass panel along with tapered edges, similar to what was featured on many of the recent Honor devices.

The Honor View 20 sports a 3D ToF sensor at the back which was also seen on the OPPO R17 Pro. This helps the smartphone to create 3D avatars of users and even slimming subjects in photos.

Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong has agreed to join Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
Ajax wants at least 75m euros for De Jong, a fee Barca considers excessive. Barcelona are willing to pay 60m euros. A potential deal for De Ligt could come into it too. If they are getting a lot for him, they may lower their price for De Jong. Barcelona believe that in the end, they will reach an agreement.
Barcelona have maintained contact with the player since the summer and plan to tie up the transfer ahead of next season. De Jong has also met with Manchester City, Bayern Munich and PSG but always intended to give Barcelona priority.
De Jong has already seen his dream move collapse once in the early stages after Ajax flat out refused to do business last summer, claiming they wished to keep hold of their best players. River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios is set to sign for Real Madrid as early as next week, according to Mundo Deportivo. The paper says the deal for the 20-year-old is in place and will be completed when the Argentine returns from a short holiday in the new year.
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City have also been linked with the in-form midfielder which is believed to have speeded up Los Blancos’ pursuit of the deal.
The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Los Blancos since the summer as Santiago Solari’s men search for a long-term successor to Casemiro.
Palacois has made 47 first-team appearances for River although 20 of those have arrived this season, including helping the Buenos Aires side to victory in the Copa Libertadores.

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo instigated his transfer from Real Madrid to the Serie A club.
Cristiano Ronaldo offered himself to Juventus during the Serie A club’s talks over Joao Cancelo, another of Jorge Mendes’ clients, according to the Bianconeri’s sporting director Fabio Paratici.
Ronaldo moved to Juventus in the close season for a fee of €112million, ending a nine-year stint at Real Madrid. His agent Mendes said on Saturday that the move was “borne of himself”. And Paratici also suggested that Ronaldo was the instigating party in the transfer.
“When we met with Mendes to discuss Cancelo, that is where the whole thing began,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia. “Mendes said to me: ‘You won’t believe this, but Cristiano wants to come to Juve.’ I replied that I believed it, but it seemed difficult to make everything come together and work.”
Ronaldo has hit his stride in Turin, and has scored 12 times in all competitions to help Juve move clear at the top of Serie A and progress in the Champions League. But Paratici added that bringing in the Portugal star never seemed a likely option.
“The greatest players help kids to dream. My son wanted Cristiano Ronaldo’s jersey, so when I went to see a Portugal game, I bought it and he wore it all the time. Every year he’d ask me: ‘Daddy, why don’t we buy Cristiano Ronaldo?’ Because it’s impossible. Then when it happened, he said: ‘Daddy, you told me it was impossible!’ I had no answer.”

Thibaut Courtois believes Cristiano Ronaldo is “irreplaceable”, but he challenged his Real Madrid team-mates to score the goals the star forward used to.
Ronaldo, 33, left Real Madrid for Juventus in July, following a long and illustrious career with the Los Blancos. His departure coincided with the exit of manager Zinedine Zidane.
The LaLiga giants struggled to cope without the duo initially, but they have improved under Santiago Solari. Solari secured his first trophy at the helm with a 4-1 win over Al Ain in the Club World Cup final on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, Courtois, who joined ahead of the campaign from Premier League giants Chelsea, stated that he believes it is up to the other key forwards to carry the goal scoring burden going forward. Madrid needed to step up to replace the goals Ronaldo scored, with Karim Benzema (11) and Gareth Bale (10) leading the way so far.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is irreplaceable, you cannot forget what he did.” Courtois told reporters. “But he is not here anymore, so it’s time for other players, like Bale did in the semi-finals [of the Club World Cup], to score the goals he [Ronaldo] used to score. If we are able to do so, it’ll be fine.”
Madrid’s victory over Al Ain assured them a third successive Club World Cup title in a row and means that the trophy will return to Spain for the fifth time in a row. The Los Blancos previously defeated Japan’s Kashima Antlers in 2016 and Brazil’s Gremio in 2017, following their respective Champions League triumphs. They also claimed the crown in 2014, against Argentina’s San Lorenzo, while rivals Barcelona prevailed victoriously in 2015 against River Plate.
Solari’s side sit fourth in La Liga, eight points behind the Catalan club, though they do have a game in hand. They do not play again until 2019 though, when they make the trip to Villarreal on January 3.
