Mohun Bagan Sign Dejan Dražić From FC Goa to Complete ISL Foreign Quota

Mohun Bagan Dejan Dražić is now official. ISL giants Mohun Bagan Super Giant have signed Serbian forward Dejan Dražić from FC Goa on a big-money deal, completing their foreign quota for the 2026-27 Indian Super League season as the club rebuilds its attack.

Mohun Bagan Dejan Dražić: Deal Details

The transfer is reported to be worth around ₹2.85 crore, roughly $300,000, for the season, with a contract length of 2 years and a further 1-year extension option. It’s a significant financial commitment that underlines how seriously Mohun Bagan are treating their attacking rebuild this season.

Who Is Dejan Dražić?

Dražić, 30, is a Partizan Belgrade academy product nicknamed the “Serbian El Shaarawy” for his direct, attacking style of play. He has previous La Liga loan experience with Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid, and also won two Slovak Super Liga titles during a spell with Slovan Bratislava, giving him a well-rounded European resume before arriving in Indian football.

His numbers at FC Goa last season were hard to ignore: 10 goals and 5 assists in 22 appearances, a significant improvement over his 2024-25 tally of just 2 goals and 1 assist in 27 games. That kind of upward trajectory is exactly what Mohun Bagan will be hoping continues under their colours.

Rebuilding After Big Departures

Mohun Bagan needed reinforcements after losing key attacking pieces Jason Cummings and Dimitri Petratos, both significant contributors in recent seasons. Alongside Dražić, the club has also brought in forward Lee Erwin as part of the same foreign-quota rebuild, giving new head coach options a fresh look up front.

With the ISL 2026-27 season already underway since kicking off on September 4, Mohun Bagan will be eager to integrate their new signings quickly as they chase a return to the top of Indian football. The club has been one of the league’s most successful franchises in recent years and will want to reclaim the title after a season that fell short of expectations.

For Indian football fans, the Dražić signing represents exactly the kind of marquee foreign addition that could define Mohun Bagan’s season one way or the other. For more ISL transfer news, check out TechnoSports’ ISL coverage.

Expect Dražić to be eased into the squad over the coming weeks as he adapts to Indian conditions, before becoming a first-choice starter once fully match-fit and settled into Mohun Bagan’s system.

Indian Super League clubs have increasingly turned to proven performers from within the league itself rather than gambling on unknown overseas imports, and the Mohun Bagan Dejan Dražić deal fits that pattern perfectly.

Dražić already has a full season of adapting to Indian conditions, travel schedules, and playing styles behind him, which should shorten his settling-in period considerably compared to a fresh overseas signing.

Mohun Bagan’s rivals will already be studying how best to defend against him, given how well documented his FC Goa performances now are heading into this new chapter of his career.

For neutral fans, marquee domestic transfers like this one are exactly what the ISL needs to keep growing its profile and competitive depth season after season.

How quickly Dražić forms a partnership with the rest of Mohun Bagan’s attack will likely decide whether this rebuild pays off before the business end of the season arrives.

With the Mohun Bagan Dejan Dražić partnership now official, attention turns to the club’s upcoming fixtures, where fans will get their first real look at how the new-look attack functions under pressure.
