Mani Ratnam’s Vijay Sethupathi-Sai Pallavi Film Bags Rs 20 Crore Netflix Deal?

Big-ticket filmmaker Mani Ratnam is reportedly back with another romantic gem, and the buzz around its OTT deal is already setting the internet on fire. Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi are teaming up for the first time under his direction, and word is the digital rights have already found a buyer.

What’s the Buzz on Mani Ratnam?

According to online reports, Mani Ratnam’s untitled romantic drama has reportedly closed its digital rights deal with Netflix for a massive Rs 20 crore. The overseas distribution rights have also reportedly been sold, alongside a hefty audio rights deal. That said, the makers haven’t issued an official confirmation yet, so these numbers should be treated as buzz rather than fact for now.

The film, earlier known under the tentative title Production No. 23 from Madras Talkies, is expected to be a tight, fast-tracked shoot — wrapping in roughly 40 days once cameras start rolling. AR Rahman is on board for the music, putting to rest speculation about other composers joining the project; two songs are reportedly already done.

What’s Next for the Stars?

Vijay Sethupathi has a packed slate ahead, including Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road with Puri Jagannadh, Pocket Novel reuniting him with Super Deluxe director Thiagarajan Kumararaja, and Arasan alongside Silambarasan TR. Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi is set to play Sita in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-led Ramayana.
