East Bengal transfer news: The Red and Gold side have a big summer transfer window ahead of them, where they will need to build a squad which is capable of challenging for the top six. In spite of dominating the I-League for the entirety of their stay in the competition, the historic club hasn’t been able to carry over their success into the ISL just yet.

Their first few seasons in the competition have been thoroughly disappointing in comparison to their past success. And with a new manager at the helm this season, they will now turn their focus on building a squad that can perform at a higher level. Here is the latest East Bengal transfer news that you need to know:

The Torch Bearers have reinforced their backline by signing 29-year-old Australian centre-back Jordan Elsey from A-League club Perth Glory. The player made a name for himself by winning numerous trophies with Adelaide Untied before moving to the Newcastle Jets. He will be moving to the ISL after a brief spell with Perth, and joins Jose Antonio Pardo Lucas as the new central defenders for the club this summer.

The team struggled to score goals this past season, while Sivero was able to score 5 in 20 games, with limited minutes. As a result, the expectation will be for him to raise their offensive output in the coming season.
