Shikhar Dhawan Continues to Make Headlines Beyond Cricket

Fondly known as ‘Gabbar’, Shikhar Dhawan remains one of India’s most recognisable opening batters. He represented India across international formats and became particularly popular for his performances in major ICC tournaments.

His aggressive batting, trademark celebrations and energetic personality made him a fan favourite throughout his international career. Dhawan also built a strong reputation in the Indian Premier League, where he played for several franchises and consistently contributed at the top of the order.

Following his retirement from international and domestic cricket in 2024, Dhawan has continued to remain connected with the sport through cricket-related appearances and other engagements.

His social media activity also gives fans glimpses of his life away from the cricket field, from travel and entertainment to appearances at sporting events.

Sophie Dhawan Joins the Former India Opener

Sophie Dhawan accompanied the former cricketer during the Abu Dhabi outing, with the couple appearing alongside the two actors in the photographs.

Dhawan’s personal life has attracted public interest alongside his cricketing career. His latest appearance with Sophie and the Bollywood stars offered followers another glimpse into his activities outside professional cricket.

The group photograph also generated interest among fans of the personalities involved, bringing together audiences from cricket, Bollywood and mixed martial arts.

Sidharth Malhotra and Vijay Deverakonda Add Bollywood Glamour

The presence of Sidharth Malhotra and Vijay Deverakonda added another layer of celebrity appeal to the UFC event.

Malhotra, known for films across action, romance and drama, has maintained a prominent presence in Hindi cinema. Deverakonda, meanwhile, rose to wider recognition through Telugu cinema and has developed a following across India.

Their appearance alongside Dhawan underlined the appeal of international sporting spectacles among Indian celebrities. Major combat sports events increasingly attract viewers who follow the entertainment surrounding the competition as much as the fights themselves.

A Star-Studded Sporting Evening

Dhawan’s Abu Dhabi outing is another example of how sports and entertainment personalities frequently come together at international events. While the UFC remains focused on competition inside the Octagon, celebrity appearances often generate additional attention across social media.

For fans, the photographs provided a glimpse of an evening that brought cricket, Bollywood and mixed martial arts together in one setting.

Bottom line: Shikhar Dhawan’s latest Instagram post from Abu Dhabi caught fans’ attention by bringing together Sophie Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Vijay Deverakonda at a UFC event. The star-studded appearance offered a snapshot of the former India opener’s life beyond cricket and the growing connection between Indian celebrities and global sporting events.
