Durand Cup 2026: Manvir Singh’s Hat-Trick Headlines Mohun Bagan’s Ruthless 8-0 Demolition of South United FC

Some nights, football stops being a contest and becomes a statement. Mohun Bagan Super Giant delivered exactly that at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, tearing South United FC apart 8-0 in a Group A fixture of the 135th Durand Cup, with Manvir Singh’s clinical hat-trick lighting up the Kolkata night.

An Avalanche of Goals

The Mariners needed just four minutes to break the deadlock, with Sahal Abdul Samad’s exquisite no-look reverse pass setting up Manvir Singh’s opener. Alberto Rodríguez doubled the lead from a corner soon after, before Rahul Bheke and Manvir’s second goal made it 4-0 inside the opening 22 minutes. Mohun Bagan went into the break with a commanding lead after restricting South United to just a single shot in the entire first half.
