Indian Super League (ISL) has gained popularity exponentially since its inception in 2014. The Indian top-flight league has grown into one of the popular leagues around the world. There are currently 11 teams competing in the league but there are plans to increase the league further in the future.
The current teams of ISL which are set to be featured in FIFA 22 are SC East Bengal, ATK Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC, Mumbai City FC, Jamshedpur FC, North East United FC, Hyderabad FC, Odisha FC, FC Goa, Kerala Blasters FC, and Chennaiyin FC.
EA Sports’ mobile game, FIFA Mobile has already seen the inclusion of the ISL back in 2019. The inclusion of the league in the PC and console versions was based on its success in the mobile version of the game. EA Sports have now finally decided to include the Indian Super League in the PC and console versions of their upcoming FIFA title, FIFA 22 which will release on 1st October 2021 globally.
“EA Sports FIFA will include ISL on the console (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) and PC versions of FIFA 22. Electronic Arts (EA) and FSDL will sign the final paperworks in the days to come. This is as a follow-up to the league’s inclusion on FIFA Mobile. That happened nearly two years ago,” a source close to the development informed Khel Now.
Sources also informed Khel Now that ISL clubs have been asked to finish their kit designs soon, for their implementation in the game. “Teams should finalise kit designs earlier than last season, as they need to submit them to EA Sports,” they said.
The FIFA game was first introduced back in 1993 but its collaboration with Indian football happened in 2012 as the Indian international team was included in FIFA 13.
Now, the Indian Super League is expected to feature in the PC and console versions of FIFA 22. This will have a huge effect on the popularity of ISL among the large community of FIFA players. It will also result in an increase in the sales of FIFA 22 in the country.
It will be really interesting to play with the Indian clubs against some of the best European teams. Even the thought of it is making the Indian FIFA community excited!
