Apple will probably shift 20% of its production from China to India

Back on December 28, Indian prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi met the top executives of Apple, Samsung, and Lava. Besides, on the first day of April this year, a scheme called Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) was notified. This scheme is to gear up our domestic activities over the electronic products as well as to attract tech giants towards our country.

As a result, expected, Apple probably is trying to shift its a fifth of production from China to India. As per Economictimes, several meetings between top-ranking government officials and senior executives of Apple are going on from the past few months. Because of the shift, the local manufacturing revenue may go up to around $40 billion in the next five years. And If everything goes fine, Apple will be the largest exporter in our country.

A senior government official said, “We expect Apple to produce up to $40 billion worth of smartphones, mostly for exports through its contract manufacturers Wistron and Foxconn, availing the benefits under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.”

Sad to inform, it seems the authority is facing some problem to take their steps. And that problem needs to be sorted out early. A person to ET said, “There are some problems with some of the clauses. For instance, valuing the entire plant and machinery already in use in its plants across China and other places at 40% of that value and the extent of the business information sought under the scheme are some of the irritants.”

As per the PLI scheme I mentioned earlier, a company needs to manufacture phones worth $10 billion at least in phases between 2020 to 2025 to get the benefits. The Indian government expects to take the mobile export from $3 billion (2019-20) to $100 billion with the help of this PLI scheme.

Like other few countries, India also launched a contact tracing app called Aarogya Setu last month. This app launched on the 6th of April for both the Android and iOS platforms. It took only 13 days to cross 50 million downloads and in another 28 days, it crossed 100 million or 10 crore individual users.

The Indian government made this app available in eleven languages so that maximum Indians can use it and safety gets the priority, not the language. The Setu app contains a specially prepared set of questions. The analysis of the answers will help users to identify if his/her symptoms are of corona or not. Besides it also can warn if the user has any chance to get affected or not.

Rather than providing a set of questions, this app also tracks your location through Bluetooth and GPS. The intention is to notify the presence of any corona patient near you. Though some experts have enough doubt about the security of the stored location related data. The government doesn’t make this app as open-source for the same reason.

Frenkie De Jong joined Barcelona for a reported €75million last year. He impressed in his last season as Ajax. He was a key member of the Ajax team which made a dream run to the Champions League semi-finals, beating the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

De Jong didn’t have the same amount of influence on games at Barcelona as he did at Ajax. He has faced many criticisms at Camp Nou.

Former Barcelona player Ronald De Boer, who won the LaLiga title with Barcelona in 1998-99, believes De Jong has adapted well to life at Camp Nou. He insisted it is better comparing him to Busquets, who is regarded as arguably the finest holding midfielder of his generation. De Jong would be ‘a great successor to Busquets’.

De Boer told BarcaBlog: “People said he didn’t reach the level he reached with Ajax last season in Europe or with the national team. But not everyone can say that they play so many minutes with such a strong team, so I think he’s doing well.”

“You see how another young player like De Ligt had a harder time, while everyone thought he would play regularly from the start. He is doing very well when you consider that this is his first season.”

“If he’s going to play as a central midfielder, I’m sure he’ll be successful. He is a controller, you should not ask him to score 20 goals, he is not such a player.”

“I am sure he will be a great successor to Busquets in the future.”

De Jong has scored two goals in 37 games till now this season. It’s not about the number of goals he scores but it is about the influence he has on the midfield for Barcelona.

Serie A clubs decide to resume the 2019-20 season on 13th June

The Italian league is on its way to resume the 2019-20 season. Serie A has been suspended since March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But now things are better, so the top-flight football is on the verge of resumption.

The clubs of Serie A have voted for the 2019/20 season to resume on 13th June. However, this proposal will have to be put to the Italian government, who must then give their approval in order to resume the league.

The Italian football association (FIGC) have also sent a request to UEFA to postpone the domestic season deadline from 3rd August to 14th August. It will give them more time to finish the 2019-20 season.

Serie A is following the example of Bundesliga, which is the first major European football league to resume their season this weekend behind closed doors.

Italy’s minister for sport Vincenzo Spadafora has also given the green light for Serie A clubs to resume group training sessions from Monday, 18th May. So things are going in the right direction. Hopefully, we can see the Serie A resume on 13th June as proposed.

There are costly Chromebooks in the market as well powered by the Intel CPUs, so it seems finally we will get to see a mid-range Chromebook powered by AMD Ryzen CPUs.

The efficiency and performance of the latest Ryzen mobile APUs are making OEMs more prone to use them in their laptops. From ultra-thin notebooks to gaming centric ones, Ryzen APUs are being used everywhere, now finally they will be seen on Lenovo Chromebooks as well.

Originally spotted by u/Jakel856 on Reddit, AMD has indeed listed the Lenovo Chromebook C330 powered by AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U under the “Shop AMD-powered laptops”.

The choice of using the 2nd gen mobile Ryzen APU seems strange but ultimately it can reduce prices as this is a Chromebook and doesn’t require the tremendous performance that the latest Ryzen 4000 mobile APUs offer.

The Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U features 4 cores and has a base clock speed of 2.1 GHz, the Chromebook has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of eMMC storage. It also has a 11.6-inch display and the integrated Vega 8 graphics with 8 CUs is enough to handle graphical workloads.

According to the listing on AMD’s site, the Chromebook seems to have a starting price of US$303.99 but this might be the pricing of the original Chromebook C330 with a MediaTek 8173C processor. Even though AMD has made a mistake in listing but it is pretty clear that a Ryzen powered Chromebook will soon.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has lauded on Frank Lampard, who is doing some incredible stuff in his first season in charge of Chelsea. Conte was in the Chelsea dugout for two seasons. He won the Premier League in 2016-17 followed by a FA Cup win next season before leaving Chelsea’s top job.

One of the most anticipated games for 2020 is obviously Ubisoft’s next Assassin’s Creed game called Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Also, this year the revolutionary Microsoft Xbox Series X will make its way for gamers and a few days ago gameplay was revealed for the console that included Ubisoft’s new game as well.

The biggest question was whether the game could run at full 60 FPS while in the 4K resolution? Now a new report from Windows Central suggests that a Ubisoft spokesperson speaking with Eurogamer’s Portugal branch has speculated that the game will run “at least 30FPS” on Xbox Series X.

This actually raises the debate because the new gaming console by Microsoft was touted to run any game at 60 FPS. The spokesperson said:

“Ubisoft has always been committed to exploring new technologies, taking advantage of the capabilities of new consoles to deliver the most immersive experience possible, which is why we are excited to be collaborating with Microsoft to bring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to the Xbox Series X.“

“Currently, we can guarantee that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at least 30 FPS. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will benefit from faster loading times, allowing players to immerse themselves in history and the world without friction. Finally, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will benefit from improved graphics made possible by the Xbox Series X, and we can’t wait to see the beautiful world we’re creating in stunning 4K resolution.“

So according to this 30FPS at 4K is achievable for the game running on Microsoft Xbox Series X but there’s a possibility this can get improved in the near future. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is all set to release this holiday 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and PC. So as there’s time left before launch Ubisoft and Microsoft can make optimizations to improve performance.
