Sportstechx has recently published a report on the leading Asian countries in terms of SportsTech nation. India has come out on top and China in third.
India might be a cricket-first nation when it comes to sports but it is also clearly Asia’s No. 1 SportsTech nation when it comes to the number of startups, with more than 3x the amount than any other country.
Nearly 40% of India’s startups, however, are focussed on just two sub-sub sectors: Fantasy sports and Booking and Matchmaking so it could just be a case of quantity over quality for now.
India leads the Top 10 countries in Asian SportsTech chart, followed by Israel, China, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Among the Indian cities, Bangalore, the startup capital of India, emerged as the top SportsTech city for startups but only by a slim margin. India in fact accounts for 4 of the top 10, including 3 of the top 5 indicating that growth within the country is also fairly widespread.
Bangalore leads the Top 10 cities in Asian SportsTech chart, followed by Singapore, Tel-Aviv, Mumbai, New Delhi, Tokyo, Chennai Beijing, Jakarta and Hong-Kong.
Google is planning to launch a smart card just like Apple and Huawei. Apple’s smart card known as Apple Card was launched last March 2019, and the Huawei payment card was unveiled last week. Now according to a news from TechCrunch we came to know about a smart card which is being made by Google in order to rival these smart cards in the market.
Apple Card is a type of credit card which is being made in partnership with Mastercard and Goldman Sachs. Huawei payment card is also a type of credit card just like Apple. But, according to reports, the Google card is going to be a debit card partnered with Stanford Federal Credit Union and Citi.
Note: Not the final design of the card
Besides, Google Card may come with a Visa-powered chip, but the search giant may expand support for other payment processors like Mastercard later on.
The card will support payments in different retail stores, and will also support contactless transactions with the help of the physical card. There will also be a virtual version of Google Card which could be used for Bluetooth mobile payments, and you’ll get a virtual card number as well for online purchases.
This will be a virtual account for your physical card, you can manage your accounts, track your activity, add money, edit the privacy and even manage notifications from this system. Users can also make transactions via this and can even lock their accounts if the physical card gets stolen. Even if someone has your valid account details you can still lock and order another replacement card. There will also be an option to reset your card number if needed.
It is still unclear when and where the Google card will be launched and what will be the final modifications of the card. The company has not officially informed any sensitive details about this payment card till now but the company in a statement confirmed that it’s exploring ways to “partner with banks and credit unions in the US to offer smart checking accounts through Google Pay, helping their customers benefit from useful insights and budgeting tools, while keeping their money in an FDIC or NCUA-insured account”.
This gives the clue that they are working on the card and the process of making it live is going on. So it is just a matter of time we hear something officially from the company.

The Coronavirus has enforced a lockdown in till at least till 3rd May, as declared by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The I-League was suspended as a result of the lockdown.
The I-League panel and the All India Football Federation’s executive committee met via a video conference yesterday. The meeting was held to decide the fate of the I-League amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mohun Bagan had already clinched the I-League title with four rounds still left to be played. They have 39 points from 16 matches. There was a three-way race among East Bengal, Minerva Punjab (both on 23 points from 16 matches) and Real Kashmir (22 points from 15 matches) for the runners-up slot. But unfortunately, the AIFF suspended the I-League on 14th March on the directives of the government.
AIFF senior vice president Subrata Dutta chaired the meeting, which was also attended by general secretary Kushal Das and I-League CEO Sunando Dhar, among others. The I-League panel recommended the following things:
1. The Committee recommended that the 2019-20 season be deemed to be concluded.
2. Mohun Bagan to be declared as the Hero I-League champion for the 2019-20 season as they stand atop current standings in the Hero I-League until the point of suspension on 14th March 2020.
3. With regards to the remaining clubs, and noting the concerns expressed by many of them in writing, the League Committee recommended the remaining prize money (apart from the champion’s prize money) be equally divided among the remaining 10 participating clubs.
4. The Committee also recommended that there be no relegation from the Hero I-League 2019-20 season. It is a huge relief for the likes of Aizawl FC and Neroca FC. At the time of suspension of the league, Indian Arrows were at the bottom of the 11-team league table, while Neroca (19 points from 17 matches) and Aizawl FC (16 points from 15 matches) were at 9th and 10th, respectively. Indian Arrows, the developmental side of the AIFF, would not have been relegated in any case.
5. In reference to the Hero 2nd Division, the Committee waits for approval over regulatory matters from the AIFF Executive Committee and the Asian Football Confederation to understand the feasibility of organising a shorter duration tournament next season for qualification to the Hero I-League 2020-21.
6. Meanwhile, with nearly 500 matches yet to completed in various youth leagues, the Committee felt it would be an injustice for kids and youth players to be compromising with social distancing, and hence, recommended to stand by the conclusion of all youth leagues in the current season – the Hero sub-junior League, the Hero Junior League, the Hero Elite League, and the U-17 Khelo India Girls League – and start afresh from 2020-21 season.
7. Understanding the current crisis, the Committee felt it needed to be flexible as per AIFF Academy Accreditation is concerned – as the primary objective is to increase participation of clubs and players. Hence, the Committee recommended for an extension of the deadline for submission of the required documentation after the ongoing lockdown is revoked.

Weibo account of iQOO recently revealed another new detail of the upcoming iQOO Neo 3 5G phone. The poster reveals the dual stereo speaker system placed at the bottom and top of the device. The launch event will be held on April 23.
The poster also reveals that the smartphone will come with a Hi-Fi chip with a signal-to-noise ratio of 125dB.
We have seen few specs of the Neo 3 5G, but full phone specifications are still not available. As far as we know the device will come with a 144Hz display, UFS 3.1 flash memory, Snapdragon 865, and now we get to see the dual stereo speaker on the device.
From China’s CCC certification we spotted the iQOO Neo 3 5G and we saw it will come with a 44W (11V – 4A max) charging capacity, which is amazing.
The first official image of the iQOO Neo 3 5G phone shared in the Weibo account shows that it will come with three shooters in a rectangular setup in the upper left corner and a neat blue-black gradient as one of the colour variants. The device will also feature a punch-hole design at the front. The body will be made of plastic.
HP has revamped its 2019 Envy 17 which was already having pretty specs like Wi-Fi 6, Core i7 Comet Lake-U CPUs, along average GPU performance. But the design which included an optical drive made it look a bit boring.
In 2020, HP has totally redesigned the 2020 Envy 17m-cg0013dx and will begin shipping later this month according to HP. The laptop now features 17.3-inch FHD IPS backlit multi-touch display with 86% screen-to-body ratio with 100% sRGB colour gamut.
On the hardware front, you get an updated Core i7-1065G7 Ice Lake CPU to replace the Comet Lake-U one. This is paired with 12 GB of removable DDR4 RAM along with 32 GB Intel Optane Memory support and 512 GB Intel SSD.
The laptop is very sleek and has narrow bezels, the new design makes the laptop lightweight than before, now weighs around 2.7 Kg. The dedicated GPU has also got an upgrade, now features the newer GeForce MX330 GPU with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM to replace the older MX250 graphics.
The new model has dropped the RJ-45 port while retaining the Wi-Fi 6 feature, while the full-size, backlit keyboard is great to have. For security, there’s the Fingerprint reader, mic, camera shutter along with dual speakers and audio by Bang & Olufsen. The laptop supports both Alexa and Cortana voice services.
The battery life seems promising as HP was that the 55 Wh battery can give you 11 hours of battery backup. The cheaper configuration ones will soon be available on HP.com and the company assures that a 4K UHD display variant is on its way as well.
We all are currently used to with six facebook reactions i.e. Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, and Angry. Now Facebook is going to add a new one called “Care”. May be Facebook is trying to help us to represent our care for parents, friends, and families at the virtual platform.
Alexandru Voica, Tech Communication Manager, Facebook, EMEA region revealed that they are adding the 7th reaction called “Care” to Facebook App and Messenger this week. He twitted, “We hope these reactions give people additional ways to show their support during the COVID 19 crisis.”
On Facebook, we will launch a seventh Reaction alongside the existing six. The new Care Reaction will start rolling out next week globally and you can use it to react to posts, comments, images, videos, or other content on the app and https://t.co/t0PZL74vjgpic.twitter.com/PkpbCoPc4F
The new Care Reaction is an animated face that is hugging a heart. You will find it between the Love and Haha reactions.
As a starter, Facebook already added pulsating heart reactions along with some other to its Messenger.
Facebook‘s this approach, to bring people together, is not a new one during this corona pandemic. They launched the desktop version of messenger previously, introduced Tuned for couples, and more. They are also working to spread awareness and provide useful information about coronavirus.
Nubia previously revealed some news posters showing the launch of Nubia Play 5G on April 21, Tuesday. Now the brand has revealed a video where they compared the screen refresh rate of Nubia Play 5G and iPhone 11 Pro Max. This new video reveals two main specs of the device – Snapdragon 765G processor and 144Hz refresh rate of the display panel.
Previously the brand has revealed the back design of the device and the retail box. Then the brand has revealed two different specs of the device. The phone will come with a quad-camera setup with a 48MP Sony main shooter believed to be the IMX586 sensor. There’s also a 12MP selfie camera according to some reports.
Nubia’s brand CEO Ni Fei revealed that the battery capacity of Nubia Play 5G will be 5100 mAh. He also added that it will also support up to 30W fast-charging with USB-PD, which is compatible with Quick Charge 4.0.
He also revealed that Snapdragon 765G smartphones have the fingerprint scanner primarily on the side or on the back, however, for this device the sensor will be placed underneath the display panel, effectively confirming the OLED screen.
The video also reveals the front design of the smartphone. The smartphone though not placed in a lighting environment still reveals that it will not come with any notch or punch-hole design. In the video, the smartphone has a noticeable forehead, normal chin and decent bezels on both sides. Maybe the smartphone will house the front camera somewhere within the forehead section.
We didn’t know that the device will feature Snapdragon 765G SoC or not, as the device is supporting 5G, but now we are sure from the above video that the device will feature the same processor mentioned above. The video also confirmed the 144Hz refresh rate of the display and even the placement of the fingerprint scanner.
To sum up, we get the smartphone will pack in a 5G connectivity, 144Hz display, Snapdragon 765G processor, quad rear-camera, 5000mAh battery, and 30W fast charging. From all these specs combined the smartphone looks like a premium mid-range device that specifically targets the young generation, that wants more by spending less.
Since the launch of Ryzen 4000H mobile gaming processors, OEMs have started implementing them into their gaming laptops. Manufacturers like Asus, Lenovo, MSI all of them will be using these APUs to power the new gaming laptops which makes them more efficient and powerful due to the AM4 platform.
Now, HP will also implement these processors into their new HP Omen 15 gaming laptops, spotted by @_rogame, the laptop is listed as the HP OMEM Laptop 15-en0xxx along with an HP 8786 motherboard. Even though you might think this to be a new lineup but an HP support document confirms that the 15-en0xxx is an OMEN laptop.
Several Geekbench listings have confirmed the fact that HP will release a Ryzen 7 4800H powered SKU. All of the listings report 8 GB of RAM, also a 15-en0xxx laptop has also been benchmarked on 3DMark with 16 GB of RAM.
While 3DMark gives the possibility for a Ryzen 5 4600H version as well, @_rogame states that at least a GTX 1660 Ti GPU will be used in these gaming laptops.
So it is very likely to see HP selling RTX GPUs versions of the 15-en0xxx laptops, as it did with last year’s models. We have already seen with the Zephyrus G14 and the Ryzen 9 4900HS gaming laptops powered by the AMD Ryen 4000H processor.
These Renoir APUs provide great performance at lower power consumption, so naturally, both the Ryzen 5 4600H and Ryzen 7 4800H will perform well with significant lower prices on the new HP Omen 15 gaming laptops.
